After the Zerg General Was Accidentally Marked - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Licking
When he decided to return to the little high-rank’s side, Sears knew such a moment would come sooner or later being questioned persistently, having his past dug up.
But now was not the time for a full confession. No matter how powerful Everett might become in the future, he was currently just an ordinary, even poor, high-rank.
Clearly, he was not suited to handle the perilous situation of having a defected Admiral hidden in his home.
Therefore, Everett did not need to know.
And for this, Sears was long prepared.
“Do you not like the name Solas?”
“No, but…”
“I have done some things in the past that were not honorable. I do not miss my original name.”
“I think, while I am by your side, I want to be only your Solas.”
“Is that okay?”
It was the truth. He wanted to be… my Solas.
My… Solas.
Regardless of the past, no matter the future. At this moment, by my side, he belongs to me.
Only to me.
In an instant, Everett’s desire to probe vanished, leaving only softness.
“Okay.” Then Everett snapped back to his senses, “But one day, you will tell me, won’t you?”
“Yes, one day, you will know.”
The little high-rank gave a relieved smile, “You know, because your eyes are so similar, there were a few moments before where I actually suspected you were…”
“Suspected I was?”
“Admiral Sears,” Everett said hurriedly. “But that’s impossible. When we were on the spaceship, the Admiral was still in the capital participating in the mecha performance.”
“Do you treat me as a substitute for Admiral Sears?”
“Huh? I’m not, I didn’t…”
“I don’t mind if you treat me as his substitute.”
“I mind.”
“Admiral Sears is the Admiral Sears who belongs to all insects.”
“But you are the Solas who belongs only to me.”
However, this sincere confession made Sears even more afraid to accept it. It wasn’t that he was unaware or without feeling, but when many things are built upon lies, they seem to lose their original meaning.
For instance, “being only your Solas while by your side” could also be interpreted as “no longer being Solas after leaving you.”
Just as the little high-rank said, Admiral Sears belongs to the entire Zerg race; he would not belong only to a certain high-rank.
This point would never change.
Everett took a step forward. Sears took a step back.
Everett took another step forward. Sears took another step back.
But the living room was simply too small; before long, Sears was cornered.
“Since you are my Solas, do I have any special privileges?”
They were too close, close enough to hear the little high-rank’s heartbeat, close enough to feel the little high-rank’s breath, tickling as it scattered across his neck. So close that Sears instinctively tensed his body, wanting to fight or flee.
“As my high-rank master, you can…” Sears said, “you can kill me.”
All it would take was draining his mental power.
Everett: “…”
“Who asked you about that? I was asking if I could ki—”
“Flying!” Suddenly, the little cub, riding on Little Dummy’s shoulders, rushed out from the bedroom. He immediately spotted the two insects almost pressed together in the corner. “Eh?”
Sears gave a push almost instinctively. The little high-rank staggered a few steps, nearly falling over.
“What are you doing?” Bigu wrinkled his nose and sniffed, “Female brother isn’t in estrus either?”
“You shouldn’t need mating to relieve estrus yet, right?”
Sears: “We weren’t doing anything.”
Everett: “Who taught you all this?”
But the two “innocent” insects were already no longer innocent in the eyes of the not-so-simple little cub.
A bad start. But Everett did not give up. He was never an insect who gave up easily.
Furthermore, a “cooked” Solas was right at his lips; could he really fly away?
“I’ve come to help treat your wounds. You need to change the dressing, right?” This time, Everett had Little Dummy take the cub out to play, specifically instructing that if they were coming back, they should send a message to his optical-link bracelet ten minutes in advance.
“I can handle it myself.”
“The ones on your back too?”
Sears was silent for three seconds before finally compromising. The injuries to his wings indeed urgently needed treatment.
The military female took off his shirt and lay prone on the sofa. His back lines were fluid, the muscles firm; one could tell at a glance they would feel good to the touch. Though the front would likely feel even better.
Everett still remembered that when he first bought him, the military female’s entire body was covered in various injuries—purple bruises, red and swollen whip marks, and even incisions from sharp objects. Now, those wounds had disappeared, leaving not even a scar. In fact, when Everett had accidentally seen the military female’s upper body last time, those marks had almost completely vanished.
Truly the superb recovery power of a military female.
Now, only the gunshot wound on the shoulder, the damage to the wings, and… remained.
“Your wrist is injured too?” Besides the bandage on the shoulder, a wrap was also around his wrist.
Everett wanted to grab his arm to take a look, but the military female dodged. “Only treat the ones on the back.”
“No good deed goes unpunished…” the little high-rank muttered.
The wing sheath entrances on a military female’s back, if not open, are two slender white lines near the shoulder blades. But because Solas’s wings were injured, they had turned into two red lines of blood.
Everett first did a simple cleaning of the area around the wing sheath entrances. Part of the wing-locking device had been nailed into the back, and the other part into the wings. Therefore, after being forcibly removed, two rows of bloody holes remained around the entrances.
However, this part of the external injury was recovering well; it had already scabbed over and would likely be fine in a few days.
“Alright, extend your wings.”
The prone military female first trembled slightly, then the blood lines of the wing sheaths gradually opened, and more uncoagulated blood mixed with clots surged out.
Then, like a magic trick, two pairs of incompletely unfolded wings extended out. The translucent, blood-stained wing membranes were intricately folded together, compressing a nearly ten-meter wingspan into about three meters, turning into a bright, translucent crimson as they spread flat behind the military female. They almost took up the entire living room.
The wing tips trembled slightly; Everett could hear the military female’s rapid and suppressed breathing. He knew the other was injured, but he hadn’t expected it to be this serious.
Wait, what happened to that “superb recovery power”?!
Now the military female’s back was almost entirely covered in blood, and blood would occasionally seep from the base of the wings.
Everett knelt beside the military female and gently lifted the right wing, wanting to help clean off the blood, but immediately received a muffled groan.
The little high-rank’s hand paused, then slowly released. “Does it hurt a lot?”
Solas gave a laugh; he could actually still laugh at this time. “No…”
“If you lie, I will know.”
The military female went silent, then said: “I am a military female.”
Everett: “I know.”
“I have suffered much more serious injuries before.”
“The past is in the past. But what about now? Does it hurt?”
The military female seemed a bit annoyed by the questioning and met it with silence.
Everett sighed, “I can only know if you are lying; I can’t read minds. If you don’t speak, I won’t know your feelings.”
“Pain is not something shameful. If I cut my finger, I can cry for half a day, believe it or not?”
“Cry if it hurts, get angry if you’re mad isn’t that just common insect nature?”
“You don’t have to…” Everett paused, “In front of me, you don’t have to endure.”
Solas always seemed very capable of enduring. It was like that during his estrus, and it was the same with his injuries. He didn’t dare think that the military female had previously been carrying a pair of nearly broken, bleeding wings while accompanying him to the check-up and house hunting.
If he had known… he definitely wouldn’t have let him go.
“As long as you’re willing to talk, I’m happy to listen. It doesn’t have to be useful, positive, or good; it can be anything else. Boring, sad, or bad.”
“Have you heard a saying? The more ‘nonsense’ an insect talks every day, the happier they are.”
The military female remained unmoved. Everett added: “If you don’t want to talk… that’s fine. I can wait.”
Everett took some gauze and wiped away the blood bit by bit along the veins of the wings. He accidentally brushed against an unhealed wound at the base; the wings beneath his hand trembled twice, and then a faint, weak sound came: “It hurts.”
“It does hurt.”
Everett was stunned for a moment, then the corners of his mouth curved up. “Sorry, I’ll be gentler, okay?”
The wing injuries were far more serious than Everett had thought. He spent nearly an hour just getting the blood mostly cleaned off, then applied medicine to the visible wounds. Because the wings had to be retracted into the body, he couldn’t even use bandages or gauze to wrap them.
Everett could only watch helplessly as the military female struggled to retract the wings, and the wing sheath entrances, which he had worked so hard to clean were quickly stained red again after closing.
“Otherwise, don’t retract your wings. Can’t you just keep them out until the wounds heal?”
“Wings are very delicate organs. If a scar is in the wrong place or if there is hyperplasia, I might never be able to fly again.”
“Not being able to fly is a very terrible thing for a military female, right?”
Sears glanced at the little high-rank. That blunt care and heartache felt foreign to him. “It is a… very desperate thing.”
“Then, how about you take a bite of me and drink my blood? Would that make you feel better?”
Sears really wanted to laugh. “While a high-rank’s pheromones have many effects, they aren’t some panacea that cures everything. And they aren’t only in the blood; they are in other bodily fluids too—sweat, saliva, and reproductive fluid. Don’t go letting your blood out at every turn in the future.”
“Then…” Everett thought for a moment, “Shall I lick it for you?”
“Huh?”
“Didn’t you say there are pheromones in saliva too?”
“Did you only listen to half of what I said?”
Everett clicked the light screen and began searching. “Look, this article says a high-rank’s pheromones can help with pain relief and speed up healing.”
Sears, who knew very little about medicine, became uncertain: “Really?”
“The wings are too delicate and important; why don’t we try another wound first? How is the injury on your shoulder?”
Sears still found this method of treatment completely bizarre. But if it truly worked, he might even be able to fly again…
Under this longing, he agreed to the little high-rank’s experiment.
Sears sat leaning against the sofa, unfastening the bandage on his shoulder to reveal the circular gunshot wound. A layer of soft scab had already formed, and it was in the process of recovering.
Everett held the military female’s shoulder and leaned down to lick it. The moment the tip of his tongue touched that scab, he immediately felt the muscles beneath his hand tense instantly, accompanied by an intake of breath: “Hiss…”
Everett stopped immediately, “Does it hurt?”
“It doesn’t hurt, but…”
Everett then licked again, using his tongue to spread saliva over the small wound, even tasting a hint of blood.
“Ugh… wait…”
The military female’s voice sounded a bit off, accompanied by intermittent gasps, but there was no pushback. Everett, buried in the military female’s shoulder, couldn’t see the other’s expression, so he paused and waited for a moment.
“Don’t… stop…”
So Everett continued. He earnestly used his tongue to lick/caress the small circular wound, sending more saliva beneath the upturned scab.
“Mhm…”
The military female beneath him struggled weakly for a moment, then his muscles gradually relaxed, and his voice sounded very comfortable.
So Everett licked even harder!
After a good while, Everett finally stopped licking, prepared to ask the military female how he felt.
Just as he lifted his head, he unexpectedly discovered that the military female’s naked, robust upper body was already covered in dark insect markings!
The military female’s eyes were dazed, his body drenched in sweat. Accompanied by the rapid heaving of his massive chest muscles, the intricate insect markings seemed to wind and flow.
Everett’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed spit, feeling a heat beginning to burn from the bottom up.
He had seen similar situations many times in instructional videos. The military female was clearly, clearly…
