After the Zerg General Was Accidentally Marked - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Death
There is definitely something wrong with this ship. T-rex robots are Level III security robots, usually only used on military cargo ships.
But there’s no time to investigate that now. They have to survive first.
“Stay back,” Sears said to the little high-rank and the cub, then took the lead in stepping onto the deck area.
“Warning! Warning! Please exit the deck range immediately, or else…”
The nearest robot was still executing its warning protocol when Sears had already kicked off the ground and taken flight, passing between the two closest robots like a swift arrow, simultaneously raising the sharp blades in both hands!
Swoosh!
Accompanied by a burst of sparks and lightning, the two robots suddenly ceased movement, their heads beginning to slide slowly down the sharp, clean incisions at their necks.
Only after Sears flipped and landed did the two heads finally detach from the shoulders, hitting the floor with two heavy thuds.
“Intrusion…!” The third robot was still switching its program when Sears nimbly jumped onto its shoulders, grabbed its black head with both hands, and crack! twisted the head off as easily as picking a piece of fruit.
The headless robotic corpse collapsed heavily to the ground. Meanwhile, Sears had already used the momentum to pounce on the next robot.
But the advantage was fleeting. The robots reacted quickly and began to work together to kill this reckless intruder!
The fourth, the fifth… the robots fell one by one. Sears’ body was light and agile, moving like a reaper holding transparent blades, weaving through the enemy siege, harvesting the lives of the robots one by one.
However, he had just ended his estrus period; his stamina was insufficient, and his broken leg hadn’t fully healed. His mental power was down to just a tiny bit.
If the weapons condensed from mental power were giant blades or long swords during past battles, he was now essentially stabbing enemies with toothpicks.
Soon, Sears found himself overwhelmed and unable to cope. Just as he finished off a robot on the left, a robot on the right seized the opportunity and hit his shoulder with a shot!
The military female swayed, looking as if he were about to collapse.
“Sears!”
“Female brother!”
“Don’t come over!” The two insects outside anxiously wanted to come in and help, but were shouted down by the female.
Sears rolled on the spot, raised the gun he had just managed to snatch, and pulled the trigger!
With a bang, the head of the last robot was blown to smithereens.
Fourteen T-rex robots had been turned into fourteen pieces of scrap metal in just ten minutes!
This was the first time Everett had watched a military female’s battle from such close range. Everything was exactly as he had imagined—clean, powerful, and beautiful. Every inch of muscle was controlled perfectly, like a flawless killing machine.
Despite it being inappropriate, Everett watched with his blood racing. His heart hammered wildly:
Mine! Such a powerful female belongs to me!
Sears checked the fallen robots one by one and fired finishing shots to ensure they were completely scrapped and could never get up again.
He checked the deck area back and forth once more to confirm it was safe before letting Everett and Bigu come over.
Just as they passed the middle of the deck, Everett suddenly felt that the large pile of cargo stacked in the center looked familiar. Although there were no labels, the dimensions looked very much like…
He couldn’t help but stop his pace.
“Everett!” Over there, the female had already reached the bridge entrance, and the faster little cub had also gone over. They were waiting for him.
“Wait a second! Just a moment!”
Everett pried open a packing crate with an iron rod. Inside were rows of reagents specifically…
Rows of Kalatin reagents.
“What’s wrong?” Sears thought the little high-rank was taking too long and returned to find him, immediately spotting the reagents.
“Is this ship also being used to smuggle Kalatin?”
Everett didn’t speak.
“Those robots were probably there to escort this.” Sears was now even more certain that the Magic Lamp Company and F were definitely not clean. “But now isn’t the time to investigate this. Let’s get to the bridge first.”
The access card that opened the deck hatch couldn’t open the door leading to the bridge. They needed to find another way inside.
But before they even reached the bridge entrance, the door suddenly opened on its own.
Sears realized something was wrong and immediately dragged the little high-rank back behind the cargo. At the same time, he shouted, “Gugu, run!”
The little cub screamed and rushed toward them, scurrying onto Sears’ shoulder in the blink of an eye.
This time, even more T-rex robots emerged from the bridge.
At least thirty.
Sears finally couldn’t hold back a curse: “Fuck!”
This wouldn’t work. Sears knew his stamina and mental power wouldn’t hold out.
They had to find another way.
The three insects retreated together.
On the way, Sears took two guns from the robots he had killed earlier, giving one to Everett and one to Bigu.
“This is the safety; turn it off, then pull the trigger. Got it?” He even did a demonstration. “If you get a chance, shoot them in the head.”
Everett had used one before, but, “Isn’t it a bit early for Bigu to use this?”
The little cub didn’t mind at all, taking the gun and deftly flicking off the safety. “Bigu knows how to play with this!”
Everett instantly wondered: is the Cub Protection Law just a decoration?!
“You two exit the deck range; I’ll try to hold them back at the center. And…” Sears took a deep breath and looked at the little high-rank. “If possible, please give me some mental power.”
The entire deck area was nearly a hundred meters long and ten meters wide. However, large amounts of Kalatin reagents were stacked in the middle, turning that area into narrow passages only two meters wide on each side.
The opposition’s hesitation to fire was likely due to the fear of damaging the cargo.
And this was Sears’ opportunity.
Once the little high-rank and the cub exited the deck area, Sears extended mental power from his palm, condensing it into a giant sword over a meter long, then slammed it into the floor.
Smoke began to waft up through the cracks in the floor.
He had punctured through!
Sears dragged the giant sword forward. Accompanied by a piercing screeching sound, he sliced a horizontal crack across the ten-meter-wide deck floor. Then he did the same to the other three sides, leaving only a little connection at the corners.
After this set of maneuvers, if the little high-rank hadn’t been constantly supplying him with mental power, he would have directly suffered mental exhaustion!
Now, he stood with the cargo on the precariously hanging deck.
Come on!
Sears drew his mental power saber, gritting his teeth to endure the stinging pain caused by excessive mental power usage. He tensed his body, and in the next second, like an arrow from a bow, he charged into the robots!
More and more smoke surged from the gaps, soon completely obscuring Everett’s vision. He couldn’t even see a shadow of an insect, let alone fire a gun!
The sounds of fighting coming from the smoke only made him more anxious. All he could do was provide as much of his mental power to the female as possible.
Beside him, however, the little cub would occasionally fire a shot toward the thick smoke covering the deck.
“Bigu, can you see anything?!”
“I can’t see!” Bigu raised the gun again and pulled the trigger!
“But I can generally hear them!”
Everett: …
Is this the combat talent of a female?
Within a few minutes, the smoke above the deck grew thicker, carrying a scorching heat that made Everett cough and tear up. He could only bend over and cover his nose and mouth. Bigu simply lay flat on the floor.
It looked like the fire had already spread to the first layer of the cargo hold, burning right beneath their feet.
“Don’t worry, female brother is very powerful!” Bigu comforted him with great confidence.
“I know, cough cough… it’s just…” He felt a bit useless for not being able to help.
Before he finished speaking, a huge boom suddenly came from ahead! Accompanied by the massive sound, flames shot up!
What happened?!
Before Everett could even move, his mental power extended out like tentacles along the floor, and he immediately discovered that the center of the deck had collapsed!
Where was the female? Is the female okay?!
The little high-rank didn’t care about the choking smoke and immediately ran over to check the situation. He found that the cargo and most of the robots, along with the collapsed floor, had fallen into the sea of fire below.
However, the female was fine, hanging on by one hand the uninjured one clinging to the edge, swaying precariously.
Seeing him come over, the female even gave a slight smile: “Give me a hand?”
Everett pulled the female up, then looked at the collapsed area in front of them and began to worry: “How do we get across?”
The robots were gone now, but there was a whole collapsed area at least twenty meters long. How were they supposed to cross?
The female gave him a look of almost surprise. “Jump across, of course.”
Then the two insects shared a look and both realized the problem.
This pit… Everett couldn’t jump across it.
Between Sears’ and Everett’s stamina, there was a massive chasm.
If he had to carry or hold the little high-rank, it would affect his jumping posture, and they would likely both perish in the sea of fire together.
Then they could only hug the side wall and crawl across bit by bit.
Just as they were planning to do so, an alarm suddenly went off.
WARNING!! WARNING!! CARGO HOLD DAMAGED! DECK ABNORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURE! EXECUTING EMERGENCY DETACHMENT PROTOCOL!
At the same time, the hatch leading to the bridge began to close.
DECK DETACHMENT, COUNTDOWN THIRTY SECONDS.
Oh no!!!
Thirty seconds it was clearly too late to crawl across. Sears immediately stripped off his top. “Do you know how to unlock the wing-locking device?”
Everett was still hesitating, but Bigu beside him: “I do!”
Then the little cub jumped directly onto the female’s shoulders, gripped the metal blocks on the back with both hands, and yanked outward with force!
As the metal device detached, the first thing to surge out was blood. This device was clearly not meant to be removed with brute force; several bloody holes were torn directly into the base of the wings.
Then, huge transparent wings were pulled out along with it, stained with quite a bit of blood.
Sears grabbed the little high-rank and unfolded his mangled, injured wings, flapping them a few times. “If you’re afraid, close your eyes.”
Saying this, he didn’t give him any time to react at all, directly taking a running start and leaping into the sea of fire at the collapse.
The huge, damaged wings half-unfolded, flapping with force, carrying the two insects across the fire pit in a wobbly flight.
By the time they tumbled onto the floor, the swift-moving Bigu had already scurried into the bridge entrance, shouting anxiously: “Hurry!!!”
TEN!
Sears picked up the little high-rank and raced forward, racing against time.
Twenty meters left to the bridge.
NINE!
Sears stumbled and nearly fell. Looking down, he saw a robot that wasn’t quite dead yet, grabbing his ankle.
Fifteen meters left to the bridge.
EIGHT!
Sears kicked the robot’s hand but couldn’t shake it; instead, his unretracted wing was grabbed by another hand. The military female shuddered from the pain.
Fuck!
SEVEN!
The little high-rank, who had run a few steps ahead, noticed something was wrong and turned back to help him.
Idiot!
Sears severed the mechanical hand with a sword, then asked: “Do you know where the emergency stop button is!”
SIX!
The little high-rank nodded: “I know!”
“Press it! Stop the emergency detachment! Save me!” Then Sears grabbed the little high-rank by the waist and threw him toward the narrowing hatch!
FIVE!
Everett tumbled into the bridge control room.
Sears finally, finally shook off the robots and began sprinting toward the hatch!
FOUR!
Sears crashed head-first into the closing hatch!
He subconsciously extended mental power to condense into a dagger, wanting to dismantle it by force, but immediately realized the bridge also needed to be airtight. So he had no choice but to give up.
Everett scrambled up from the floor and rushed toward the control console!
THREE!
Sears rested his back against the hatch and closed his eyes.
He was locked outside. When the countdown ended, he would be thrown into the vastness of space along with the deck.
He would die in the icy cold of space.
Everett was still ten meters from the control console!
TWO!
Everett was two meters from the controls!
ONE!
The emergency stop button! THE EMERGENCY STOP BUTTON!!!!
ZERO!
