After the Young Master’s Death, He was Kissed by His Mortal Enemy! - Chapter 56
Shen Ran blinked a few times.
All that used tissue… was that really from him?
Did he even have that much energy? Was he secretly gifted or something?
Sitting cross-legged on the bed, he thought about it for a while before finally remembering—oh, those tissues were used by both of them.
The ridiculous things they did last night came rushing back in a wave of memory.
Because the confession came so suddenly, Cheng Yi, who always liked to be thoroughly prepared, had clearly been caught off guard this time.
After the lights went out, the two of them were faced with a pressing issue:
There were no protection supplies in the house.
In other words, they couldn’t do anything.
Cheng Yi had explained, “I’ve been single forever. There’s no reason something like that would be in my house. This just proves I’m clean.”
“Actually… it’s okay,” Shen Ran had replied. “I kind of want to try it anyway.”
But Cheng Yi had flat-out refused.
“No. That’s bad for your health.” He raised a hand and flicked Shen Ran’s forehead. “If you won’t take care of yourself, then I’ll make sure you do. Don’t even think about messing around.”
With no other choice, they had to pause and shift to a more… logistical operation.
It was already late at night. The two of them sat on the edge of the bed, both pantless, heads huddled over one phone screen.
“This one? Or that one?”
“Whatever you like. Up to you.”
“Then this one,” Shen Ran said, pointing. “It’s the most expensive—I want the best.”
“Alright, this one it is.”
But it only came with three… wasn’t that a bit too few?
There was another version in a larger box—ten per pack. Much more practical.
Just as Shen Ran was thinking that, he saw Cheng Yi start tapping quickly on the screen.
The convenience store had twenty boxes in stock.
Cheng Yi bought all twenty.
Shen Ran started calculating with his fingers.
20 × 3…
That’s… sixty?!
He stared, dumbfounded. “Do we really need that many?! I’m starting to worry about myself now…!”
Just from the order quantity alone, Shen Ran could feel Cheng Yi’s intention, and he subconsciously scooted a bit farther away.
But that little move didn’t escape Cheng Yi’s sharp eyes.
“We’ll figure it out later. Better safe than sorry.”
He tossed the phone aside, then pinned Shen Ran down with no room for resistance. “Stop struggling. Let me kiss you. Don’t worry—I know my limits.”
Though still slightly skeptical, Shen Ran decided to trust him.
After all, Cheng Yi had always been sharp-tongued but surprisingly restrained when it mattered.
However… last night, the two of them seemed to have completely forgotten what the word restraint even meant.
Ha.
Out of the twenty boxes they bought, not a single one got used.
That delivery was probably still sitting outside the door, unopened.
As the memories of last night’s madness faded, Shen Ran scratched his head and let out a long yawn, eyes still closed.
Too much indulgence really isn’t good, he thought. I feel so tired—not refreshed at all.
Still half-asleep, he opened his eyes again and suddenly realized something felt off.
…Wait a minute. Where was Cheng Yi?
He looked around. Waking up without his brand-new boyfriend by his side startled him fully awake.
Just then, he heard faint sounds coming from outside the bedroom.
Shuffling to the door, he pushed it open groggily. Brilliant sunlight poured in and lit up his body.
He squinted, eyes stinging from the brightness, and followed the sound—coming from the kitchen.
There, his newly minted boyfriend was wearing an apron and cooking busily.
Unlike Shen Ran, who had slept until noon, Cheng Yi had woken up early, full of energy.
And given the special circumstances of last night, there was no way Cheng Yi would’ve left Shen Ran home alone to go to the office.
When Cheng Yi had first woken up, Shen Ran had still been sound asleep, completely defenseless beside him.
Cheng Yi couldn’t help but chuckle quietly to himself.
He reached out and gently poked the tip of Shen Ran’s nose. It was warm.
In his sleep, Shen Ran seemed to sense the touch, his eyelashes fluttering lightly. “Mm…”
Cheng Yi froze in shock, afraid he’d woken Shen Ran. He instantly held his breath, hand suspended midair without daring to move another inch.
But Shen Ran didn’t open his eyes. He simply scrunched his nose like a sleepy puppy and then drifted right back into deep slumber.
Only after confirming that Shen Ran was completely out of it again did Cheng Yi let out a soft sigh of relief.
Unable to resist, his hand reached out once more. After hesitating for a few seconds, he finally gave Shen Ran’s cheek the lightest little pinch.
“…You dummy,” he whispered. “Sleeping like this, you’re about to start drooling.”
Propping his chin on one hand, Cheng Yi stared at Shen Ran without blinking. A smile gradually spread across his lips, deeper and deeper.
He had loved Shen Ran for so many years. Had longed for him for so long.
And now—he was really with him.
Not only sleeping beside him, but also wearing the ring he’d given him.
Wei Hailan was absolutely right. Shen Ran did care for him. He really did.
Cheng Yi picked up Shen Ran’s hand again, turning it over in his palm, admiring it closely.
The ring he bought looked great—but Shen Ran’s hand looked even better.
—And the two of them, wearing matching couple rings? Stunning. A perfect match. Meant to be!
He looked again, totally satisfied.
If anyone from Cheng Yi’s company saw this scene, they’d probably be scared out of their minds.
Was this really the same Cheng Yi who was always cold, sarcastic, and sharp-tongued? My god!
At first, he simply admired Shen Ran’s hand.
But bit by bit, he started getting bolder—threading his fingers through Shen Ran’s until their hands were tightly intertwined, leaving no space between them.
Now that Shen Ran was his, Cheng Yi wasn’t going to let go. Ever.
Resting his chin on the soft crown of Shen Ran’s head, he listened to his slow, steady breathing. Then Cheng Yi closed his eyes again.
He’d never really understood what “happiness” felt like—until now.
Only now did he finally grasp what peaceful years and quiet joy truly meant.
But his internal clock was too reliable. Going back to sleep? Impossible.
After thinking for a while, Cheng Yi got up. He decided to make breakfast for his Shen Ran himself.
Of course, it was something he should do. Being able to make breakfast for Shen Ran? That made him genuinely happy.
So Cheng Yi tied on an apron, rolled up his sleeves, and got to work in the kitchen.
He bustled around for quite a while, and just as he was finishing up, he heard some movement from the bedroom.
Turning around, he saw a sleepy Shen Ran standing in the kitchen doorway.
“Morning,” Cheng Yi greeted. “How do you feel?”
“…Not great,” Shen Ran muttered.
Dragging his feet, he slowly walked over and collapsed into Cheng Yi’s arms.
“Feels like my soul left my body, boyfriend.”
“That just means you’re too weak,” Cheng Yi said, slipping an arm around him. “Meanwhile, I’m in excellent shape.”
He didn’t even say it in a teasing tone this time—but it still made Shen Ran grit his teeth on the inside.
This Cheng Yi—calling me weak wasn’t enough. He just had to sneak in a brag about his stamina too!
“And,” Cheng Yi added calmly, “I lasted longer than you.”
“…Cheng. Yi!” Shen Ran glared up at him. “Say that again—I dare you!”
