- After the Young Master’s Death, He was Kissed by His Mortal Enemy!
- Chapter 107 - Stubborn Mouth, Weak Knees Wei Hailan
Wei Hailan turned around, and his eyes clearly lit up when he saw Shen Ran and Cheng Yi.
“Old, Cheng! Shen, Ran! I missed you guys to death!”
Wei Hailan elongated his voice, calling out with such sincere emotion. Dragging along the cold, handsome guy beside him, who clearly had no idea what was happening, he pounced toward the two of them like a bird returning to its nest.
Wei Hailan’s voice was very loud, attracting the attention of many people outside the shop.
Shen Ran and Cheng Yi stepped back simultaneously. One pretended to look up at the sky as if nothing were happening, while the other lowered his head to play with his phone, feigning busyness.
Wei Hailan blinked his eyes in confusion. Although his pounce met empty air, his enthusiasm remained high.
“Little Shen Ran! Let me introduce you. This is Fu Yun. He is my boyfriend now and will be my wife in the future! He is also older than you, so you can just call him Brother Fu Yun.”
Shen Ran laughed along. “Ha, hahaha! Hello, Brother Fu Yun!”
Seeing the real-life version of Fu Yun up close, Shen Ran marveled in his heart countless times.
Damn, he really is handsome. And he truly has a very unique aura.
Seeing Fu Yun and Wei Hailan standing together, even with their fingers interlocked, Shen Ran still found it a bit unbelievable.
Brother Hailan called Fu Yun “wife.”
In other words, Brother Hailan is the one “on top,” right?
It was hard to imagine, truly hard to imagine, that the Wei Hailan currently grinning and introducing people was actually the Top!
And the Fu Yun beside him, who looked like he had such a cold and sharp temperament, was actually the Bottom?
Sure enough, you can’t judge a book by its cover. You really can’t judge a person by their appearance.
The world has truly changed; even Brother Hailan can take charge now.
When he associated this man, whose eyes were almost disappearing from smiling so much, with the mastermind behind a political coup, Shen Ran felt his mind grow even more cluttered.
Not knowing what else to say, Shen Ran simply pushed them both, one hand for each, toward the inside of the shop.
“Brother Hailan, weren’t you looking forward to playing? I recommend you take a trip through the haunted house! The whole process takes about thirty minutes. Cheng Yi and I will wait for you at the exit. Remember to give me feedback after you play!”
“Oh my, Shen Ran, you are truly hospitable. Your Brother Hailan is truly moved, so moved.”
Pushing the chattering Wei Hailan along with Fu Yun into the haunted house, Shen Ran brushed off non-existent dust from his hands and leaned against Cheng Yi, feeling a bit weary.
“As I thought, I still can’t connect Brother Hailan with a shrewd and cold person.”
“He’s just like this in front of acquaintances. I suspect he might have developed some psychological issue from acting like an elite in front of high-level officials for too long.”
“I suspect Brother Hailan is an active-type closet pervert,” Shen Ran mused for a moment, reaching a firm conclusion before quickly changing the subject. “Alright, Cheng Yi, let’s go. I need to find Xia Xingyuan.”
He and Cheng Yi came here specifically to host Wei Hailan and Fu Yun.
Since Wei Hailan had requested something terrifying, he must have wanted to use the haunted house to bond with Fu Yun.
In that case, he naturally had to give Wei Hailan the “highest treatment” in the shop!
He would crank the horror index to the maximum, making Fu Yun feel scared so that he would throw himself into Wei Hailan’s broad, warm embrace. That must be the result Wei Hailan wanted to see.
Inside the special employee lounge, Xia Xingyuan was already waiting for Shen Ran.
“Xia Xia, come here. In a moment, when you see these two people, you should…”
Shen Ran, having thought of some mischievous idea, huddled together with Xia Xingyuan, whispering something.
Xia Xingyuan nodded repeatedly, rubbing his hands in excitement.
“Don’t worry, Shen Ran! I’ve brought in several new employees over the last few days, a few high schoolers who are absolutely brilliant at playing ghosts! I’m going now; wait for my good news!”
“Make sure to intensify the atmosphere!” Shen Ran urged repeatedly. “Especially for that very handsome brother with the cold temperament! But make sure to maintain a good balance!”
Watching Xia Xingyuan leave with such enthusiasm, Shen Ran was truly curious about the “battle status” inside the haunted house. He simply took Cheng Yi to the surveillance room.
Watching the progress from a god’s-eye view was truly satisfying.
In the surveillance room, one could see the situation in every room.
Cheng Yi silently took out his phone, while Shen Ran had already excitedly lunged at the control console. After some operations, he maximized the surveillance feed of the haunted house map.
He saw Xia Xingyuan waiting for an opportunity with three or four spirits.
He also saw a trembling but forced-calm Wei Hailan, clutching a clearly relaxed and completely unafraid Fu Yun, as they walked deeper into the haunted house with trepidation.
“Huh?” Shen Ran furrowed his brows. “This seems a bit different from what I imagined.”
The cameras had an audio recording function. Every time Wei Hailan and Fu Yun walked near a camera, he could hear their conversation.
This included but was not limited to:
“Fu, Fu, Fu, Fu. Ouch, I bit my tongue. Fu Yun, you, you don’t be afraid. With me here, you must not be afraid!”
“Mhm, I’m not afraid.”
“As, as long as you aren’t afraid, it’s fine. Rest as, as, assured, I, I, I will protect you. AHHHH! What was that? What just floated past there! Ow! Woohoo!”
At this moment, one could see a smirking Xia Xingyuan on the monitor, wearing a white veil, floating past behind the two of them.
Fu Yun remained indifferent, but Wei Hailan jumped up like a startled bird, leaping three feet high.
Yet he didn’t forget to repeat tremulously and shiveringly, “Fu Yun, don’t be afraid! I, I, I will protect you!”
“Hailan, if you are really scared, we can exit at any time. Don’t push yourself.”
“Who said I’m scared? This is just a small case, not scary at all, I, AHHH! What is that thing again?!”
Before Wei Hailan could finish his sentence, Xia Xingyuan found a laser pointer from somewhere and grinningly shone the red dot onto Wei Hailan’s chest.
This time, Wei Hailan didn’t jump up.
Because Wei Hailan’s face changed instantly; he closed his eyes and buried his face in Fu Yun’s embrace.
He didn’t forget to continue emphasizing: “Fu Yun, I’m really not afraid! Rest assured, I will really protect you!”
Fu Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He reached out and stroked the back of Wei Hailan’s head like he was smoothing down fur. “I know you’ll protect me. Let’s keep walking forward, Hailan.”
Shen Ran watched silently for a long time before finally looking at Cheng Yi speechlessly. “Are you sure Brother Hailan is a shrewd and cold person?”
Wasn’t the plan for Brother Fu Yun to be scared and throw himself into Brother Hailan’s broad, warm embrace?
Why had it now turned into Wei Hailan leaning on Fu Yun like a dependent ostrich as they slowly walked out? Was this some kind of “gap moe” contrast?
Cheng Yi pinched the bridge of his nose, put down his phone, and waved his hand. “I don’t know him. Tsk, I really can’t watch this.”
A short while later, Wei Hailan and Fu Yun’s figures appeared at the exit.
Wei Hailan’s legs were shaking like noodles, yet seeing the welcoming Shen Ran and Cheng Yi, he still tried to act tough.
