Chapter 1: The Encounter
Yin Feng transmigrated, crossing over into a novel about a male lead chasing his wife in a crematorium setting. However, she wasn’t the wife; she was the “Green Tea” character who constantly set traps for the pampered little wife.
On her way to class, Yin Feng once again lamented this frustrating world.
She had finally endured until university graduation and found a job she liked, believing she could live a smooth, ordinary life, only to unexpectedly transmigrate.
The worst part was that she knew absolutely nothing about her current major, International English. Listening to lectures felt like listening to gibberish, and she even had to complete her graduation thesis in English—what a scam! Every time Yin Feng saw her professional textbooks, she felt like crying. Seeing the female lead made her want to cry even more.
She remembered that when she first arrived, she was scheming with a few companions to plot against the female lead, Su Le, preparing to teach her a lesson. Just as they were about to lock Su Le in the restroom, she “awakened.”
Yin Feng, as a 28-year-old adult, felt she had no interest in bullying little kids, so she let Su Le out.
Just by letting her go, Su Le felt she had to thank her, constantly trying to get close to her whenever she had a moment, even ignoring the male lead, Tang Qi.
After class that day, Su Le once again brought a seemingly cheap takeout box and placed it in front of Yin Feng.
“What do you want?”
Through the box’s transparent lid, Yin Feng could roughly determine that it was definitely a “dark cuisine” (terrible food).
Su Le lowered her head and timidly said, “I… I wanted to thank you. You helped me that day, I…”
“I can take it, but from now on, don’t try to get close to me. I don’t want to be involved with you.”
Yin Feng finished speaking, casually picked up the takeout box, and left.
Out of the classroom, Yin Feng immediately tossed the takeout box into the trash can. She wouldn’t eat something that clearly looked poisonous. She really didn’t understand what was wrong with the female lead; she just indulged in self-pity. She wasn’t the male lead, so what was the point of giving things to her? Because she walked too quickly, Yin Feng didn’t see that Su Le kept staring at her after she left, and the scene of her throwing the food away naturally didn’t escape Su Le’s eyes.
Upon returning home, Yin Feng’s current mother informed her that they were going to attend a dinner party that evening and told her to dress up nicely.
Yin Feng had no interest in the party, but refusing would lead to a million questions from her mother, so she could only grit her teeth and get dressed.
A light green dress accentuated Yin Feng’s sensual curves. Her hair was simply draped down, and a set of pearl jewelry, when worn, created a greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts effect with the dress.
Yin’s mother was quite pleased with Yin Feng’s appearance and led her to the car, holding her hand.
Yin Feng only learned after arriving that the dinner party was actually a welcome-home party for the novel’s “White Moonlight,” Lin Mohan, hosted by the male lead, Tang Qi. Meanwhile, the female lead, Su Le, was working there, serving food.
This was a classic Shuraba (love triangle/messy scene) in the book. She was originally supposed to secretly ridicule Su Le, then pretend to be weak in front of Tang Qi, causing trouble everywhere.
However, the current Yin Feng had no interest in playing along. She just wanted to watch the show. Her “Green Tea” role didn’t have much screen time; the main focus was on the “White Moonlight,” Lin Mohan.
Tang Qi excitedly held the microphone, announcing Lin Mohan’s return as if delivering an acceptance speech.
Lin Mohan, wearing a white mermaid-style dress, made a dazzling entrance after Tang Qi’s announcement. Su Le, pushing her service trolley, watched everything unfold with reddened eyes.
Yin Feng watched the drama with amusement, her gaze shifting back and forth among the three of them.
She had to admit that Lin Mohan was indeed a beauty. No wonder the male lead couldn’t forget her. Looking at Su Le, she was simply overshadowed by Lin Mohan, like an ugly duckling.
Tang Qi led Lin Mohan and walked toward Su Le. Su Le nearly fell down, and Tang Qi subconsciously rushed over to steady her. Lin Mohan watched the dramatic scene with an indifferent gaze.
Yin Feng couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Reading this scene in the novel didn’t feel like much, but watching it performed by real people was incredibly awkward! Hahahahaha… The oblivious “White Moonlight,” the male lead whose heart was jumping between the two, and the female lead swallowing all her grievances.
Interesting, truly interesting.
Just as Yin Feng was getting into the drama and laughing, Lin Mohan suddenly looked towards her. Yin Feng was startled by Lin Mohan’s sudden gaze.
Yin Feng was planning to look away, but before she could move, Lin Mohan walked right up to her.
Watching Lin Mohan approaching, Yin Feng felt a little nervous. She couldn’t help it; the impact of her beauty was too strong. As a lesbian, it was impossible not to feel nervous.
Lin Mohan sat down next to Yin Feng and softly asked, “Is it funny?”
“Uh, well…” Yin Feng hadn’t expected Lin Mohan to ask her directly. She genuinely found it hilarious, but how was she supposed to answer?
“I also think it’s quite funny.”
Lin Mohan finished speaking, picked up a glass of champagne, and took a sip.
Yin Feng didn’t quite understand Lin Mohan’s meaning, so she asked, “What is funny?”
“Before I went abroad, Tang Qi told me he would wait for me to return. He never stopped contacting me these three years, yet I never knew there was this other person.”
Lin Mohan looked at Su Le, who was being scolded by Tang Qi, a look of disappointment in her eyes.
Seeing a beautiful woman sad, Yin Feng naturally had to speak up, “A man’s mouth is a ghost that lies. He said he’d wait for you, but he and Su Le got together as soon as they started college.”
“Is that so?”
“Of course! Not only that, but Tang Qi also told Su Le not to tell anyone that they were together. He’s a typical jerk, having his cake and eating it too, watching the pot while he’s got the bowl. A total scumbag.”
When Yin Feng read the novel, she particularly disliked the male lead. She had hoped for a BE (Bad Ending) for a long time, but it ended up being an HE (Happy Ending). Because of this, she now disliked the female lead as well.
She had initially expected the female lead to rise up, but throughout the entire rotten story, the female lead never did, making it a typical “pampered little wife” type of literature. Yin Feng regretted reading it, but it was too late.
Lin Mohan was somewhat surprised by Yin Feng’s words. “How do you know all this so clearly? Since they kept it a secret, they shouldn’t have easily let others know.”
Yin Feng had originally thought Lin Mohan would join her in cursing the scumbag, but she didn’t expect Lin Mohan’s focus to be different. The “White Moonlight’s” mind was indeed sharp; she could pick up on the unusual details from her rant.
What the original owner had done was easily discoverable with a little inquiry, so Yin Feng couldn’t just make up an excuse. She didn’t want Lin Mohan to hear it from someone else and suspect her of having malicious intentions, especially since the original owner was not subtle about causing trouble.
“The reason I know this is because I was blind before and had a crush on Tang Qi.”
After Yin Feng said this, she wanted to drag the original owner out and give her a beating. This image-ruining mess would likely become her black history for life.
Lin Mohan looked at Yin Feng’s furious, teeth-gritting expression and couldn’t help but laugh. The gloom in her heart, originally caused by Tang Qi, suddenly lifted quite a bit for some reason.
Yin Feng was already a bit of a swooner, and now that Lin Mohan was radiating charm right in front of her, she completely lost control and stared blankly at the beauty.
