- Chapter 2 - The Confession Looped Ten Times
The Bar
Jiang Mingyue sat in a slightly noisy booth, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the cool rim of her glass. The amber liquid swayed gently to the music, reflecting the rotating colored spots of light from the ceiling.
On the main stage, Jian Cheng, the President of the Student Union, was cradling a guitar and singing soulfully, drawing bursts of cheers from the crowd. However, Jiang Mingyue’s attention was drifting.
She remembered a fleeting glimpse she caught while crossing the street earlier she thought she saw Lu Lingzhi. But a Porsche had driven by at that exact moment, completely blocking her view and leaving behind only a blurred silhouette.
Was it an illusion? Or… was she really there?
Jiang Mingyue opened her phone and looked at the pinned post on the Peking University forum:[Finance Sophomore Lu Lingzhi wins school title of Omega Campus Beauty]
She finally became the Campus Beauty.
If so, she should be out celebrating. Why would she be sitting all alone in a Starbucks?
Time ticked away, minute by minute. An Alpha customer walked over and said to Jiang Mingyue, “Hey gorgeous, you look good. Let’s exchange WeChat.”
But he was quickly chased away by other boys nearby.
Jian Cheng finally finished his last song. He set down his guitar amidst the applause and took a drink handed to him by the bartender.
He cleared his throat and raised his glass with a beaming smile, his voice broadcasting through the microphone across the entire venue: “Junior students, if you encounter any difficulties in school in the future, feel free to come to me. I’ve got your back. Cheers to everyone!”
Jian Cheng finished his drink.
“Great!”
The crowd responded enthusiastically with whistles and applause.
Jiang Mingyue raised her glass politely, but her thoughts were still revolving around that blurred figure.
At that moment, Jian Cheng picked up a bouquet of red roses. Under the jeering and whistling gazes of the crowd, he walked straight through the throng and stopped in front of her.
“Junior Jiang,”
Jiang Mingyue sat quietly. Despite her simple outfit, her aura was as bright and clear as the moon cold and untainted by the dust of the world. From the day she first appeared at the Medical University, she was like a star dropped into a calm lake, instantly attracting the gaze of every Alpha and without suspense capturing Jian Cheng’s heart.
He longed to pluck this moon from the sky, the sooner the better.
“I have liked you for a long time, ever since the moment you arrived at this school. Will you be my girlfriend?”
The entire room held its breath.
Every eye was focused on Jiang Mingyue, waiting for her response.
Jiang Mingyue finally lifted her eyelashes.

A strange sound, like gears locking together …Click… rang out in Jiang Mingyue’s mind. Everything before her eyes seemed to be manipulated by an invisible hand. In a daze, she found herself still sitting in the booth. Her posture hadn’t changed at all. Jian Cheng was back on the main stage, clutching his guitar and singing.
Jiang Mingyue: ???
She thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She closed them and opened them again, Jian Cheng was still up there singing, as if the confession just now had never happened. An Alpha customer walked over and said to Jiang Mingyue, “Hey gorgeous, you look good. Let’s exchange WeChat.”
But once again, he was chased away by the other boys.
After Jian Cheng finished singing, he took the drink from the bartender. Jian Cheng finished the drink.
He said, “In the future, juniors, if you encounter anything, you can tell me. I toast to you all.”
The Senior approached Jiang Mingyue with the bouquet. He said, “I have liked you for a long time, ever since the moment you arrived at this school. Will you be my girlfriend?”
Jiang Mingyue: “…”
Is this some kind of replay?

The Senior was back on the main stage again. Jiang Mingyue grabbed the wrist of her roommate, Su Xi. It was warm. She looked down and saw her own shadow. A drunk Alpha walked over for the third time with the exact same expression.
Jiang Mingyue spoke first: “You’re going to say: ‘Hey gorgeous, you look good, let’s exchange WeChat.'”
The Alpha froze. He looked delighted. “How did you know my lines? Gorgeous…”
He was quickly chased away by the boys who came with him.
Su Xi looked astonished. “Mingyue, you can actually predict the future!”
Jiang Mingyue added, “After the Senior finishes his drink, he’s going to come over and confess to me.”
Sure enough, the Senior arrived with the flowers, and just as he finished his sentence.

Hearing that Click, Jiang Mingyue’s nerves were at a breaking point. She stood up, intending to leave.
Su Xi asked, “Mingyue, where are you going?”
Jiang Mingyue said, “Back to the dorm.”
As soon as she spoke, the drunk Alpha walked over, blocking her path. Jiang Mingyue wondered if she was the only one who noticed they were in a loop. She decided to try one more time.
She said quickly and urgently, “You want to say: ‘Hey gorgeous, you look good, let’s exchange WeChat.'”
When Jiang Mingyue tried to push past, she bumped into the Alpha. He became even more excited, refusing to let her go. “Gorgeous, you actually bumped into me. I like that. How did you know my lines? Gorgeous…”
Su Xi looked amazed. “Mingyue, you really can predict the future.”
Jiang Mingyue was certain: Su Xi, you are just an NPC.
Ignoring everything else, Jiang Mingyue broke free from Su Xi’s grip. Seeing the door getting closer, she felt she could finally escape.

That damn sound again!!!
With a ‘whoosh,’ just a few steps away from the bar entrance, Jiang Mingyue was sent back to her seat.
This time, she didn’t care about anything. She bolted out of the bar, took a breath of the outside air, and felt that everything was finally normal.

She returned to that cursed booth in utter despair.
Jiang Mingyue covered her face with her hand. “…”
Su Xi whispered beside her, “Mingyue, the Senior is singing so well, why aren’t you smiling?”
“Su Xi, I feel terrible. What should I do?”
Who chose that sound? Click, click… what terrible taste. Vulgar and annoying.
Su Xi said innocently, “Then I’ll go for a walk with you.”
“Okay.”

Jiang Mingyue: “…”
Su Xi whispered, “Mingyue, the Senior is singing so well, why aren’t you smiling?”
Jiang Mingyue didn’t want to talk. She opened her phone and looked at the pinned chat: “Most, Most Adorable Little Deer.”
The messages between them had stopped two years ago.
Most Adorable Little Deer: Jiang Mingyue, you are a big liar.
The message Jiang Mingyue had sent afterwards was followed by a red exclamation mark. She had been blocked.

In front of the Scratch-off Lottery Shop
Lu Lingzhi had reset time ten times. She had scratched through twenty books of lottery tickets and finally won a 100,000 yuan prize. She looked at her hand numb, red, and aching. Having scratched 600 tickets in a row, she was exhausted.
However, she was in a great mood.
She walked through the drizzly streets with her umbrella, looking at the rain and the wind. To put it in eight words: Gentle breeze, mild rain, the country is at peace.
She thought of her Mom and Mommy, her sister, the flowers and plants at home, and her Maine Coon cat. Family harmony brings prosperity. She loved her home she was still that lovable, popular, sunny, and happy second young lady.
It was true everything looks different when your mindset changes.
[System seeking credit: I didn’t lie to you, did I?]
Lu Lingzhi nodded. She held her umbrella and stepped over the wet ground, the splashes of water seeming to applaud her victory. Money can’t solve 100% of conflicts, but it can solve the vast majority of problems.
Despite the windfall, she felt it was better to “spend money to avert disaster.”
Therefore, she sent three 200-yuan red envelopes to her dormitory group chat. The group name was: “Four Future Wealthy Ladies.”
[Ji Yunyan replied instantly: Thank you for the gift, Second Miss Lu. Sending hearts. The Campus Beauty is the most beautiful.]
The other two hadn’t replied yet.
[Lu Lingzhi: System, that “click-click” sound is really unpleasant. It sounds like a rusty old gear. Change it to something more relaxing for me, like the tinkling of wind chimes or the sound of ocean waves. How healing would that be?]
[System: Sorry, I need to upgrade. Therefore, I cannot change it right now.]
[Lu Lingzhi: You’re actually an unpolished, original version?]
[System: I need a cool down period now. Starting tomorrow, time resets are limited to three times. As I upgrade autonomously, I will inform you of my latest status at any time. Remember to increase the favorability of those around you; that will help me upgrade faster.]
[System: Host, I am going offline now. This chat session is over. See you next time.]
The neon signs in the light rain seemed to shine with golden light.
Before she had walked very far, a stylishly decorated bar with music faintly drifting out appeared before her. She originally wanted to order a drink, but then she remembered her tonsils had been inflamed lately, so she dropped the idea.
However, it seemed exceptionally lively inside, with people peeking in through the door.
“So lively.” Lu Lingzhi’s curiosity was piqued.
She folded her umbrella and walked in. The crowd was several layers deep, and the atmosphere was heated, with the pheromones of different Alphas and Omegas intertwining.
Lu Lingzhi caught a waiter passing by with a tray. “What’s going on in there? Why so much noise?”
The waiter gestured toward the center of the crowd. “Jian Cheng, the President of the Student Union at the Medical University, is putting on a deep confession for the new Campus Beauty of the Medical College.”
Lu Lingzhi looked in that direction and indeed saw the center of the crowd. That senior named Jian Cheng was holding a large bouquet of red roses.
Taking advantage of her slender figure, she nimbly squeezed toward the front. The Medical University’s Campus Beauty was indeed Jiang Mingyue. It’s just that this Jian Cheng… his looks were a bit lacking.
A beautiful flower stuck in cow dung why hasn’t anyone stepped in to stop this? Jiang Mingyue has been keeping her head down and covering her face. Is she shy? Or is her low blood sugar acting up again?
Jian Cheng said, “Junior Jiang, I have liked you from the moment you arrived at the school. Will you be my girlfriend?”
