- After The Simp Sealed His Heart With Cement, The Demon Lord Immediately Fell In Love!
- Chapter 4 - What you owe me, you must spend a lifetime by my side to repay
My heart felt hollow and painfully empty. Su Mo gave a self deprecating laugh and muttered, “What little snake? It was clearly a young dragon. Am I not stupid, Little One? We have not seen each other for nearly two hundred years. You must have grown up and ascended to the Immortal Realm by now. In this world, the only things I worry about are you and Linlin. I will arrange a future for her, and I will be sure to say a proper goodbye before I leave. As for you, you are destined to be the biggest regret of my life.”
He dragged his drunken body up, stumbled toward the bamboo house nearby, and collapsed onto the chaise longue, passing out. Even while unconscious, he subconsciously clutched the scale hanging at his chest. Alone in this foreign world, he had walked every step cautiously, as if treading on thin ice. This scale was the only thing that gave him a sense of security.
Perhaps it was a case of dreaming about what one thinks of during the day. Su Mo, who had not dreamt in a long time, had an unprecedented dream. He saw a blood red sky and a demonic palace shrouded in thick magical energy, with flickering red candlelights and a grand, red bridal canopy. A person sat beneath the curtains; he could only vaguely see a pair of long horns atop their head in the candlelight, yet he could not see their face clearly.
Who is it? Why does it feel so familiar?
Su Mo could not help but step toward the bed, his trembling hand lightly pulling back the red gauze curtains. In a dizzying whirl, he was pinned down by the other person.
“Get away!”
Startled and furious, he struggled instinctively. At that moment, a sudden change occurred. A cold, soft, yet incredibly thick tail slowly wrapped around his ankle. The tip of the tail teased his sole, as if provoking him. Shuddering, Su Mo broke into a cold sweat, gulped, and looked down.
“What are you looking at?”
A voice, overly sexy and low, echoed with a lazy and flirtatious tone. Su Mo looked up in astonishment, meeting a pair of golden, vertical pupils.
A giant python?
He gasped, his hair standing on end in an instant. He wanted to struggle, but was quickly wrapped and bundled by the python, his breathing tightening. What was even more terrifying was that this python seemed to mistake him for a female snake.
“Crazy! Let go! What are you doing? I am a man!” Su Mo, nearly frightened out of his wits, flushed crimson and bellowed. The thick tail forced his legs apart.
“You are mine. Su Mo, you cannot escape! A dragon has its Achilles’ heel; touch it and it will surely rage. No one can take you from my side!” The male voice that could make one’s ears go numb sounded again, accompanied by low, heavy panting, lethally sexy.
“Hah!”
Su Mo gasped for air as he opened his eyes and sat up abruptly, looking around in terror.
A dream?
Thoroughly frightened by the realism of the dream, he let out a long breath. The next second, his entire body stiffened as he looked down. His face flushed deep red, then turned pale. He was at this age and still. Insane! Why on earth would I have such a wet dream? No matter how unfulfilled my desires are, this is too absurd!
After destroying the evidence, Su Mo had no choice but to step into the hot spring again, washing not his body, but his dirty thoughts.
Three days passed in a flash. When Wen Muli stepped into the Heart Sealing Palace again, Su Mo knew the day for the spiritual root extraction had arrived.
“Let us go.” He gave a carefree smile. His once handsome face was almost completely ruined by the claw of a demonic beast. When he smiled, the five gruesome scars on his face looked even more terrifying. Wen Muli looked at his ugly, smiling face, his heart feeling inexplicably sour and swollen.
“Rest assured, you are heartless, but I will never be unrighteous toward you. Although you will lose your spiritual root, I will use the finest spiritual materials to extend your life. I will not let you die,” he said in a low, hoarse voice.
“Why? Have we not been torturing each other long enough?” Su Mo asked with a laugh.
“It is not enough. It will never be enough. What you owe me, you must spend a lifetime by my side to repay!” Wen Muli said through gritted teeth.
“A lifetime? That is truly there is an end to the heavens and the earth, but this hatred is endless. Wen Muli, I am tired. I want to ask you, after I give up my spiritual root, please set me free.” Su Mo shook his head with a bitter smile. After struggling with himself for a long time, he finally voiced his hope. He knew it was impossible, but he still asked. This so called freedom would not even need to last long. He just wanted to visit the place where he first met Little One before he died. Even though he knew the hope was slim, he still clung to a shred of luck. Perhaps his Little One would be waiting for him there? Having come into this world alone, he hoped to leave without any regrets.
Unfortunately, his delusions were destined to be nothing more than delusions.
“Leave? Freedom? Ha! Apart from being by my side, you can go nowhere! Su Mo, you are mine in life, and in death, you will be my ghost! In this life, apart from the Heart Sealing Palace, you go nowhere!” Su Mo’s words infuriated Wen Muli. He sneered, his eyes scarlet as he grabbed Su Mo’s collar, emphasizing every word.
“Anyone not knowing the truth would think we were deeply in love, sharing the same quilt in life and the same grave in death,” Su Mo said, finding it amusing. He did not understand where Wen Muli’s obsession came from. Was it merely because of hate that he wanted to imprison him for a lifetime of torture?
“You are wrong. I do not love you. I never have, I do not now, and in the future, I will not! Everything I do is merely following your own wishes, allowing you to get what you wanted, is that not so?” Wen Muli stated the facts coldly, his tone brimming with sarcasm.
Su Mo did not want to argue with him anymore. After debating for a century, he was tired. He raised his lips noncommittally and urged him, “Let us go. If we delay the treatment, I will likely have to die to pay for my crimes.”
His sarcastic tone made Wen Muli increasingly dissatisfied. However, he said nothing in the end. He let go, took out a handkerchief to wipe the hand that had touched Su Mo, and threw the handkerchief onto the ground with disdain, stepping over it as he walked away.
Su Mo stared blankly at the stained handkerchief on the floor, feeling that he was no different from it. All his dignity and emotions were ruthlessly discarded and trampled upon at will. Fortunately, the day of liberation was not far away.
Su Mo, who had not stepped out of the Heart Sealing Palace for a century, arrived at Wen Muli’s sleeping quarters for the first time—only to dig out his own spiritual root to save his rival in love.
“Cough, cough, cough.” Yan Yichen was coughing on the bed. Seeing Su Mo, his eyes were filled with apology and anxiety.
“Do it.” Wen Muli ordered the imperial physician gloomily.
“Wait, Your Majesty, I want to have a private word with Brother Su. May I? Please.” Yan Yichen said cautiously, his eyes filled with pleading.
“You know that I cannot refuse any of your requests.” Wen Muli gave a helpless and doting smile, affectionately pinched his cheek, and turned to glare a warning at Su Mo, signaling him not to act too presumptuously.
After the others had left, Yan Yichen’s eyes turned red, and he sobbed, “I am sorry. I never intended to hurt you.”
