- Chapter 61.2 - Jealousy Makes Chi Yang Lose Her Reason
“If you ask me, the show should foot the bill, and as for punishment,” Chi Yang paused. “The punishment is that Su Yin’s not allowed to eat with us.”
This little fox—she could really hold a grudge. A single missed meal and she’d brooded over it for days.
Pei Jiuyao pressed her lips together and lowered her head with a quiet laugh.
After landing, the group headed to the French restaurant they’d booked in advance. As the “punished one,” Su Yin was given a hamburger by the production team and made to sit aside watching the older girls eat, her expression thunderous from start to finish.
Chi Yang, on the other hand, was all lively chatter. Halfway through the meal, she even helped Pei Jiuyao cut her steak, offering the plate to her with such tenderness it looked like she wished she could feed her directly.
Su Yin couldn’t bear to watch anymore. She leaned over and whispered beside Pei Jiuyao, “Jiuyao, feed me a bite—just one.”
“No cheating,” Chi Yang warned.
Su Yin pouted and looked at the production team. “Is feeding not allowed either?”
The show already knew about Pei Jiuyao and Su Yin’s CP pairing—Xingchongs had informed them beforehand. If the CP blew up, the show’s popularity would soar as well. Win-win. And honestly, Pei Jiuyao paired with Su Yin—a cool Alpha and a cute Omega—was pure fan-service. Even the director privately shipped it.
So, the moment Su Yin asked, the director immediately agreed. “Only Jiuyao can feed you. You can’t use your hands.”
Su Yin turned back with sparkling eyes, leaning forward on the table, waiting for Pei Jiuyao to feed her.
With no other choice, Pei Jiuyao passed her two pieces of the steak Chi Yang had cut, tossed some fruit from the platter into her mouth, and poured her a bit of mixed juice.
On the way back, the one wearing a dark face turned out to be Chi Yang.
She held in her anger, climbed into the front passenger seat alone, and deliberately left the backseat to Pei Jiuyao and Su Yin.
Su Yin still wanted to stir trouble, but seeing that Pei Jiuyao closed her eyes the moment she got in, she lost interest. Within minutes, she actually fell asleep against the seat.
Hearing Su Yin’s soft breathing, Pei Jiuyao quietly opened her eyes in the backseat and looked toward Chi Yang.
That black silhouette—turbulent beneath the oppressive wash of night—seemed as if her soul was being split open and dragged out. At any moment, she could have lunged forward and torn Su Yin apart. But she endured.
Pei Jiuyao couldn’t help thinking: The little wildcat these days had really learned how to hold back.
When she saw others as imaginary enemies, she no longer told Pei Jiuyao, “Stay away from her.” Instead, she turned her claws toward the one entangling Pei Jiuyao.
This was only the first step.
If Chi Yang could just step out of her self-made maze, she’d realize that treating Su Yin as a rival was unnecessary to begin with.
Because Pei Jiuyao never responded to Su Yin with anything real—aside from the forced fanservice in front of the cameras.
Who knows when Chi Yang would finally understand that.
After returning, everyone washed up, then gathered for a meeting to sort out the schedule and finances.
Su Yin never took on any tasks—nor did the two older sisters trust her with any—so during these times she usually sat in a corner scrolling on her phone in a daze.
Chi Yang immediately volunteered for the scheduling work and was discussing rental cars and hotels with Fang Qimeng and Ding Yinghan.
Su Yin sat beside Pei Jiuyao, still on her phone, when she suddenly began scratching her neck. After a while, she nudged Pei Jiuyao. “Why am I itching so much? Can you look at my neck?”
Pei Jiuyao turned—and spotted large patches of red rash spreading across Su Yin’s skin.
“Are you allergic to something?” Pei Jiuyao leaned closer. “Do you have any known allergens?”
Su Yin froze, thinking hard before answering, “I think, I might be allergic to mango?”
“Then why did you eat fruit? And drink so much fresh juice?” Pei Jiuyao sighed, frowning but keeping her tone gentle. “Did you bring any medication?”
Chi Yang heard the commotion and looked over, her tone cold. “How do you not know what you’re allergic to?”
Su Yin looked on the verge of tears. “My mom mentioned it once. I forgot.”
What a pampered little princess—someone who was probably spoon-fed her meals growing up.
Chi Yang had never enjoyed such treatment. Watching Su Yin make trouble again and again had her in a foul mood.
But she still got up to ask the staff for allergy medication.
The others quickly helped Su Yin to the sofa.
By the time staff went out to buy medicine, Su Yin was already in bad shape.
The allergy itself wasn’t serious, but an Omega’s pheromones were easily affected when they felt unwell. Su Yin had no suppressants on her, and the cloying rose scent burst out instantly—strong enough to show early signs of heat.
Everyone with AO secondary genders reached for their smartbands. Su Yin was an S-class Omega, and Ding Yinghan was an A-class Alpha—her heat was making Ding Yinghan extremely uncomfortable.
All AO staff had already been cleared from the room, and the cameras shut down.
In her dazed state, Su Yin grabbed Pei Jiuyao’s hand, only for someone to pry it away forcefully.
“I feel so awful,” she gasped, eyes wet, tugging at her clothes in distress.
“Jiuyao,” Ding Yinghan held her down by the arm, then called out toward Chi Yang, “you two have higher-level pheromones than Su Yin. Can you help soothe her a bit? Otherwise, we may need everyone to help.”
Only Pei Jiuyao knew that Chi Yang had re-differentiated into an Omega.
High-level Alphas can soothe low-level Omegas—and the same is true in reverse. Under these circumstances, Pei Jiuyao truly had no choice but to release pheromones to calm her.
Chi Yang simply stood there, silent, waiting to see what Pei Jiuyao would do.
The moment the cool scent of cedar spread through the air, Chi Yang’s disappointment pierced straight through her chest. Her eyes lit with wildfire, and she clenched her jaw so tightly she drew blood.
Pei Jiuyao didn’t notice her reaction. She bent down, patted Su Yin’s arm, and released a small amount of soothing pheromones. “Su Yin, calm down.”
She despised how Su Yin constantly caused trouble. If not for their professional relationship, she might have scolded her outright.
Fang Qimeng and Ding Yinghan, however, were already done. One slammed the door and stormed back to her room; the other pressed a heavy coat over the back of Su Yin’s neck.
Yet Chi Yang did nothing—didn’t move, didn’t speak. It was unexpectedly out of character.
Pei Jiuyao glanced back—only to see Chi Yang’s eyes burning red as she stared.
Ah. There it was. She’d finally blown up.
Although Pei Jiuyao had released pheromones for everyone else’s sake—and because she knew about Chi Yang’s second differentiation—she understood it was still something easy to misunderstand.
The fact that Chi Yang held it together this long was almost impressive.
Should she coax her? Wouldn’t want her to get sick from anger.
After all, they didn’t have any deep enmity.
Pei Jiuyao simply wanted Chi Yang to admit she was wrong—and maybe tame her obsessive little girlfriend a bit.
While she was considering this, Chi Yang turned and marched straight back to her room, slamming the door behind her.
After Su Yin took her medicine, she finally settled down. Yang Ling and Jing Yi helped her back to her room. Pei Jiuyao thought for a moment and decided to let Chi Yang cool off first.
She showered alone, blow-drying her hair afterward, debating whether she should check on Chi Yang later.
But just as she turned off the dryer, a knock sounded at the door—and Chi Yang’s voice followed.
“Yaoyao, are you inside?”
