- Chapter 42.2 - Even in Death, I Won’t Leave You
It was then that Pei Jiuyao realized Chi Yang was completely bare, curled softly in her arms, looking half-asleep.
Outside, the plane flew steadily through the clouds. The low hum of the fuselage mixed with Chi Yang’s faint sounds of pleasure as Pei Jiuyao massaged her.
She was like a small, spoiled creature.
Even the scent of strawberries now felt intoxicating—Pei Jiuyao’s cheeks burned hot.
She coughed lightly and asked, “Still want to soak?”
Chi Yang looped her arms around Pei Jiuyao’s neck. “No, too sleepy.”
“Then shall we get out?”
“Don’t want to. Too cold outside.”
Pei Jiuyao sighed helplessly. “Then what do you want to do?”
Chi Yang suddenly opened her eyes, turned, and tapped Pei Jiuyao’s lips. “Triple experience.”
Pei Jiuyao tilted her head with a crooked smile, pinching Chi Yang’s cheek. “Here?”
Chi Yang thought for a moment, then shook her head. “Not here.”
She slipped into a bathrobe, and Pei Jiuyao assumed she was leaving, so she loosened her hold on her waist.
But instead, Chi Yang drained the water several times, refilled the tub with steaming hot water, and began opening the bottles lined up nearby.
Pei Jiuyao half-reclined against the tub wall, watching her fuss with narrowed eyes. She had no idea what this little fox was plotting.
Chi Yang opened a bottle of white liquid and poured it in. “Milk.”
After two cups’ worth, she uncapped a thick golden liquid, dabbed it with her finger, and said, “Mm, honey.”
Next came a jar of black powder. “Cocoa.”
Soon, the air was filled with rich, sticky sweetness.
Pei Jiuyao braced herself against the edge of the tub. “Um… maybe I should step out?”
Chi Yang set the cocoa down and shot her a sharp, foxy glare.
Pei Jiuyao quickly sat back, face determined. “No, I can hold on.”
Chi Yang reached for another jar.
“Isn’t that enough?” Pei Jiuyao asked in a small voice.
Chi Yang unscrewed a pink one, dipped her fingertip, and said, “Strawberry jam.”
Her eyes narrowed as she teased, “Want a taste?”
Pei Jiuyao’s eyes lit up. She brushed past the milk and honey, leaning close against Chi Yang. “I do.”
Chi Yang scooped some jam onto her finger.
Pei Jiuyao lay in her arms, licking it clean, knuckle by knuckle.
Chi Yang with strawberry jam was, indeed, delicious.
No wonder people said sugar triggered dopamine.
Pei Jiuyao thought she must be getting a double dose—dopamine from the sugar, dopamine from Chi Yang. Enough to rust her brain until all she wanted was sex and nothing else.
The air grew thicker, laced with heat and intimacy.
She turned, brushed against Chi Yang’s neck, then smeared jam across her lips.
“If you don’t lean down, I can’t reach.”
Chi Yang gave a small hum, hooked a finger under her chin, and kissed her.
Their lips tangled. Pei Jiuyao shifted their positions, grabbed the half-empty jar, and poured it down Chi Yang’s shoulder, letting it pool along her collarbone.
“You’re still an Alpha?” Pei Jiuyao whispered, tongue brushing over the red mole on Chi Yang’s neck.
Chi Yang’s legs weakened, and she leaned on her. “It’s already fine.”
Pei Jiuyao’s hand stilled. Her voice dropped low. “But you’re not in heat yet—I can’t mark you.”
She couldn’t bear to push Chi Yang further. Her pheromone disorder was already severe, and the messy cocktail of medications she had been taking lately had only made it worse.
Chi Yang raised her eyes. “We don’t have to mark.”
Pei Jiuyao tugged at her ear. “But you said it would hurt if we didn’t.”
“That’s you—it’ll hurt you. But I want to do it.” Chi Yang’s gaze locked onto her, scarlet eyes glistening under the mist.
So fierce, Pei Jiuyao thought.
“Why are you being so fierce this time? Did I say something wrong just now?”
Chi Yang leaned in with deliberate temptation, her tone soft yet teasing:
“Just this once… you can use strawberry jam.”
Pei Jiuyao still didn’t reply.
“You don’t want to?” Chi Yang bit her lip, sulking. “Well. You have so many Omegas—why should it have to be me?”
Pei Jiuyao blinked, baffled. “So many Omegas? Didn’t we settle this a long time ago? Why are you bringing it up again?”
Chi Yang’s eyes, misted with moisture, stared at her with grievance. “Then… is it only me?”
“Of course it’s only you.” Pei Jiuyao pinched the back of her neck, reminding her softly, “I’m already marked by you. Did you forget?”
Maybe it was because an Alpha could leave marks on many, while an Omega could only be fully claimed by one—that unfairness left Chi Yang dissatisfied.
“And in the future?”
Pei Jiuyao raised a brow. “Future?”
Grinding her teeth, Chi Yang asked in a low voice: “If one day I stop liking you, will you go find another Omega?”
Pei Jiuyao tilted her head, studying her.
Was this sudden surge of possessiveness really from the heroine herself?
“Of course not. I’ll coax you until you like me again,” she said, voice gentle with patience.
Chi Yang dabbed the strawberry jam on her skin, pressed it against Pei Jiuyao’s lips, and whispered, “No matter what the reason?”
“No matter what the reason,” Pei Jiuyao promised.
Chi Yang’s lashes lowered slightly, then lifted again. “Then you’d better remember.”
After carefully washing the jam from her skin, Pei Jiuyao changed the bathwater, scrubbing until Chi Yang’s pale skin turned faintly pink before finally leaving the bathroom.
Later, curled beneath the blankets, Chi Yang seemed distracted, her mind somewhere far away.
Pei Jiuyao held her with one arm while editing lyrics on her tablet with the other, occasionally slipping on an earphone to listen to Xu You’s demo of Limited-Time Love.
Bored, Chi Yang asked softly, “What are you listening to?”
Pei Jiuyao offered her an earbud. “The song I wrote for you—Xu You just sent me the arrangement. Do you like it?”
Chi Yang listened quietly for a while, then burrowed under the quilt, silent.
After a long pause, she peeked out, handed the earphone back, and suddenly blurted:
“Mark me.”
Pei Jiuyao slipped off the headphones, pressing a hand to her head with a small laugh. “If you’re uncomfortable, I don’t have to. We don’t need to rush.”
“I could use my hand for you?”
“No.” Chi Yang’s voice grew muffled as she retreated into the blankets, only her red-tipped ears peeking out.
“You’ve always wanted to know if I like you, right?” came her stuffy whisper from inside.
Pei Jiuyao froze, looking at her in surprise.
“You…”
“I like you,” Chi Yang said, almost breathless. “I like you so much.”
And with that, she ducked back under the covers.
For a moment, Pei Jiuyao’s arm trembled around her. The silence in the airplane cabin deepened, every sound reverberating endlessly in her head. Her whole mind felt dizzy, her ears ringing as if she’d truly gotten drunk on strawberries.
It wasn’t until the plane jolted suddenly that clarity returned.
Pei Jiuyao immediately dove under the blanket, dragging Chi Yang out.
“What did you say? Say it again!” Her voice trembled with restrained excitement.
Chi Yang’s face was burning red, her eyes glazed with moisture. Yanked into the cold air, she shivered, pouted, and shoved Pei Jiuyao’s hand away in feigned arrogance.
“I said I like you.”
Then, as if to cover her own confession, she scolded, “Why such a big reaction? Haven’t you heard anyone say ‘I like you’ before?”
“Not from you.” Pei Jiuyao leaned over and kissed her cheek, laughing brightly.
Chi Yang rubbed at her flushed face in frustration, muttering, “Just… a little bit.”
“Oh? Just a little?” Pei Jiuyao wrapped herself around her, nuzzling her shoulder. “Only a little?”
“Really only a little?” She suddenly grew unbearably playful.
Helpless, Chi Yang pushed her head away, cleared her throat, and tried to sound calm. “A lot. A lot, actually.”
Pei Jiuyao peppered her lips with light kisses, smiling. “I knew it. My little fox is all sharp tongue and soft heart.”
“Then you too.” Chi Yang turned her head away, cheeks reddening again. After a pause, she added, “You have to like me a lot too.”
Her voice was casual, almost careless—but her eyes betrayed her heart.
“I do like you a lot.” Pei Jiuyao squeezed her burning cheeks gently. “I’ve always said I like you.”
Chi Yang lowered her gaze. “Then you have to like me especially.”
“I do. Especially. I love you most.” Pei Jiuyao nodded with a laugh.
“No.” Chi Yang’s expression turned serious. “You can only love me.”
“I only love you,” Pei Jiuyao repeated.
Chi Yang’s heart skipped a beat, then flared like fire spreading from her core, searing her whole body. The rush was electric, overwhelming, so strong she almost wanted to inject another differentiation suppressant just to brand Pei Jiuyao with nothing but her own scent.
The woman before her already carried the weight of being fully claimed.
Pei Jiuyao’s chest tightened and released, emotions tearing her apart then stitching her back together again.
Their eyes locked. The world went still. Even the drone of the engines seemed to vanish, leaving only breath and heartbeat.
She couldn’t resist. She kissed Chi Yang.
The rush was tidal, blinding, hot blood pounding, lips soft and fevered against each other.
Pei Jiuyao kissed her madly, wet sounds echoing in the plane’s cabin, reverberating back into their bodies.
They pressed together, inseparable, drowning in each other’s eyes, their breaths ragged and chaotic.
When they finally parted for air, Pei Jiuyao braced one hand beside her, hovering over Chi Yang, lips grazing hers, heartbeat and pleasure colliding until her whole body trembled with tingling aftershocks.
Chi Yang’s lashes fluttered against her skin, her breath thick and tangled with hers.
They lingered there, clinging to every sensation that belonged only to the other, savoring the heady mix of euphoria and fear of falling, until dizziness from lack of oxygen forced them apart.
At some point, Chi Yang flipped her, pinning Pei Jiuyao beneath her, panting heavily by her neck, gaze drowning in obsession.
Desire surged, peaked, then slowly ebbed away.
When she finally pulled back, her eyes still shimmering with mist, Chi Yang whispered:
“Don’t ever go back on your word. Only love me. No matter what happens, you can’t leave me.”
Right now, Pei Jiuyao felt she could grant this woman anything she asked.
“Only you. No matter what happens, I’ll never leave you.”
After a moment’s silence, Pei Jiuyao asked softly, “Then… can you say what you said earlier one more time?”
Chi Yang brushed her fingertips across Pei Jiuyao’s eyes, wiping away the tears that had slipped free. She leaned in and whispered:
“I like you. I like you especially.”
“So you—can never leave me. Not even in death.”
