- Chapter 15 - I Am Pursuing Long Yin: The Guest Is Part of the Play
“This is not right!”
Yue Yuling burst into Yue Mingcang’s office in a rage, slamming her palms onto the desk with a loud thud.
“State your business.”
Yue Mingcang remained buried in his work at the computer, not sparing her a single glance.
“Are you really going to put on an act with me? Do not think I do not know what you are planning!”
Yue Yuling glared at her older brother, her tone filled with absolute certainty.
“On the surface, you talk grandly about winning the gambling agreement and cooperating with the Long Group. But I can see your true goal. You clearly want to use that agreement as a cover to curry favor with Long Yin!”
She knew it. The invitations for the naming ceremony were sent to everyone except her brother. He pretended not to care on the surface, but in reality, he was internally frantic.
She had been waiting to see what kind of methods he would use to salvage the situation. As it turned out, it was this low blow: tricking the entire company into working themselves to death alongside him!
Yue Mingcang finally raised his head and spoke with a serious expression. “You are mistaken. My goal in doing this is not to curry favor with Long Yin.”
Yue Yuling sneered. “Keep acting! Go on!”
Yue Mingcang said earnestly, “It is to pursue Long Yin.”
Yue Yuling froze. “What?”
Yue Mingcang continued, “Have I not made it clear enough? When I said ‘you get the shares and I get Long Yin,’ I meant ‘get Long Yin’ in the literal sense.”
Yue Yuling was speechless.
Yue Mingcang shifted his gaze back to the computer. “If there is nothing else, go back. You can start packing your things. We are moving to a new office in a few days.”
Yue Yuling was so shocked she became incoherent. “You, you, you! You must be insane! That is Long Yin! Long Yin! How could he possibly be interested in you?”
Yue Mingcang replied, “Why would it be impossible? He said it himself; he likes me.”
“I do not believe you,” Yue Yuling countered.
“He also said that as long as I can fulfill the gambling agreement, he will let me be his ‘male concubine’.”
“You made that up.”
Yue Mingcang rolled his eyes. “Believe it or not.”
Yue Yuling fell silent.
Actually, she had only intended to tease her brother. Long Yin was the savior of their family, and she naturally wanted to maintain a good relationship with him. Since her brother was not serving Long Yin well, it was only natural for the company to step in and “serve” instead.
But now, after this exchange, she felt a deep, genuine fear. She was afraid her brother had lost his mind while she was not looking.
“Brother, do not be like this. Wake up and think for a second. How can you pursue Long Yin? You are just an old cow trying to eat tender grass.”
Before she could finish, Yue Mingcang could no longer sit still. He pushed his mouse and keyboard away, his brows furrowed in dissatisfaction as he retorted, “What do you mean ‘old cow eating tender grass’? I am only twenty-eight!”
Yue Yuling sighed, waiting a long moment before speaking.
“Face reality, Brother. You are nearly thirty by the traditional count. Long Yin? He is only twenty-one. Compared to him, are you not an old cow? Is he not tender grass?”
Yue Mingcang said coldly, “The first half is wrong, but the second half is correct.”
In the media, Long Yin appeared overly mature, the image of a ruthless tyrant. Only Yue Mingcang, who had experienced “intimate contact” with him, knew exactly what kind of pure and lovely young emperor Long Yin truly was.
Thinking of this, Yue Mingcang could not help but curl his lips into a smile. “Although I am not an old cow, Long Yin is indeed so tender that it makes one want to grass him.”
After a brief pause, he finished the thought. “Being grassed by him would be fine, too.”
“What?”
Yue Yuling was so shocked her mouth hung open. Heavens, what was her brother saying? When did he become so shameless?
Although he was never particularly concerned with his dignity before, he used to at least maintain appearances. But this? This…
It was as if someone who had been repressed for too long had abandoned all inhibitions and let themselves fly. Was this really her brother?
Before she could process it, Yue Mingcang suddenly grabbed his phone and coat, rushing out like a whirlwind.
“I cannot talk now. Tancy contacted me. I have to go immediately.”
“Who? What? Where are you going?”
“To the Long Group. I am going to have Long Yin lease the office building to me.”
Yue Yuling was horrified. “Are you crazy? You are going to Long Yin to lease an office? Why would he ever do that? He would not even send you an invitation!”
Yue Mingcang turned back and gave a provocative smile. “Get ready to move.”
Entering the ground floor lobby of the Long Group, the first thing Yue Mingcang saw was the special assistant walking toward him. This treatment was vastly different from his first visit.
Even though he had failed to truly play the hero and save Long Yin, and had even lost face in front of everyone, heaven had looked upon him kindly. As a reward for his courage, he had earned Long Yin’s favor.
The assistant smiled and said, “You have come at a very opportune time. Our boss just happens to have…”
Yue Mingcang was in high spirits but remained modest. “Just a coincidence, just a coincidence.”
“A guest,” the assistant finished.
Yue Mingcang’s smile froze on his face. Wait, what did he mean by “happens to have a guest”?
Even if he and Long Yin had grown closer to the point where Long Yin was willing to make exceptions for him, there was no need for special attention at a time like this, right? It was not like he had to be here today; he could have waited until tomorrow.
The assistant urged, “Let us go. If we do not head up now, the guest will be leaving.”
Yue Mingcang: “?”
Was this a mockery or was he being serious? Bringing him in while there was a guest; was he supposed to watch them fight?
The assistant led the way with a fast pace. His urgent expression did not seem faked. Yue Mingcang hurried to keep up, testing the waters. “If the Young Lord is busy today, I can come back tomorrow or in a few days.”
The assistant replied, “That would not do, Mr. Yue. Our boss gave explicit instructions. He said if you come to find him, regardless of what he is doing or who he is seeing, I must bring you to him.”
Those were indeed Long Yin’s words. The assistant was simply relaying them objectively without adding any embellishment.
Long Yin, holding the original plot in his mind, knew better than anyone that after obtaining Dragon Port, Yue Mingcang was no longer a trapped beast but an eagle ready to soar. The Long Group, which once loomed over him like a mountain, would no longer be able to restrain him.
Moreover, at this critical juncture, he had accidentally misused the “Grape Humiliation,” causing Yue Mingcang to “hold a grudge.” A combination of factors made Long Yin incredibly worried that Yue Mingcang would never seek him out again. Thus, he had ordered his assistant not to miss a single opportunity.
As an employee working for a salary, the assistant’s level of acceptance for his boss’s eccentric requests was very high. As long as it was within the bounds of the law, he would execute orders strictly, even if they violated social norms.
At this moment, the assistant thought nothing of it. Instead, it was Yue Mingcang who was utterly baffled by this preferential treatment.
“But even if Long Yin is willing, it might be difficult to explain to the guest. I do not want Long Yin to leave a bad impression because of me. So, perhaps today I should…”
The assistant said calmly, “Do not worry. This guest is very generous and open-minded. I am sure they will understand the unique kinks shared by you and the boss.”
Yue Mingcang was speechless.
