When news arrived that his father had been framed by treacherous officials, Xie Yunqing felt as though his entire world had collapsed.

Initially, things proceeded smoothly. The young Master Pei got Pei Yanzi drunk. Xie Yunqing swallowed an aphrodisiac, stripped bare, and crawled into Pei Yanzi’s bed. Just as he was about to undo Pei Yanzi’s robes.
He was caught!
The formidable Prime Minister Pei suddenly opened his eyes, completely sober. Xie Yunqing was so terrified he broke into uncontrollable sobs.
Everyone had heard that although Pei Yanzi was a rare gentleman of his age courteous and refined in his dealings, never using his power to oppress others he was, in truth, far too cold. He never allowed anyone to get close to him and was even considered somewhat heartless.
Having been caught on the spot by Pei Yanzi, Xie Yunqing never expected to leave the room alive…
“I will help you.”
Through tear-blurred eyes, Xie Yunqing gazed at Pei Yanzi, who was looking back at him calmly. He doubted whether he was experiencing a deathbed hallucination—the Prime Minister actually said he would help him!
But there was no more time for him to think. That “half-price” aphrodisiac he had purchased finally kicked in after all this time…
Later, the young Master Pei, who had been inexplicably sent away from the capital by his own elder brother, heard a rumor from others: The Prime Minister, who usually kept everyone at a distance, now had a delicate, jade-like beauty by his side! Not only was he incredibly doting, but the two were also inseparable. It was even said that the Prime Minister had once flown into a rage for this person, purging the entire imperial court!
The young Master Pei was profoundly shocked and utterly confused. He secretly rushed back overnight. How hateful! He wanted to see exactly what kind of spirit or monster had bewitched his brother!
When he travel-worn and aggressively pushed open his brother’s bedroom door—he froze on the spot. Under the moonlight, the person sleeping peacefully in his brother’s arms was none other than his best friend: Xie Yunqing.
Pei Yanzi gently covered Xie Yunqing’s eyes, shielding them from the harsh light coming from outside the room. Then, he calmly looked up. He had no intention of explaining himself. He simply addressed the stunned young Master Pei in a low, heavy voice: “Get out.”
