After the Good Boy’s Facade Failed, He Was Doted on by His Daddy - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Milk
Having a liked one wasn’t true, but there was indeed a hated one.
Ning Sang answered this question within his heart flyingly fast.
He read through the other questions in order. When he arrived at this one, the reaction he gave was an unexpected laugh: “It’s actually the first time seeing you ask a question, brother, but this counts as a private question, you know.”
“Gummy Bear”: “I want to know this too! It doesn’t count as very private, right? Can Mengmeng truly not say?”
“It’s not that it cannot be answered.” Ning Sang licked his lips.
On this face of his, there simply wasn’t a place that wasn’t good-looking; even his lip bead was beautiful and alluring. After being licked, it became coated with a layer of glistening water-light, and the lighting of the stream room further magnified that bit of shimmer.
[0920 tipped Starlight]
Ning Sang put on an embarrassed look. His hands were placed on the table, with the overly long cuffs obscuring the majority of his palms, only exposing his fingertips: “Hmm… a liked actor?”
Before going to university, his parents would find time every month to take Ning Sang to the movie theater. He liked watching movies.
Therefore, this question wasn’t hard to answer. The name Ning Sang spoke was an older, not very well-known female artist.
Although it couldn’t be counted as liking her, Ning Sang highly appreciated her acting skills. When he was small, he had even performed a famous scene facing his mother at home, making his parents laugh straight out. That recording was still kept right now.
Gummy Bear: “Isn’t Mengmeng only eighteen years old? You actually know her?”
“I’m amazing, right?” The tone Ning Sang used to say this wasn’t proud. He just resembled a good child begging for praise.
He reaped a cream cake tip reward from Gummy Bear.
This question was quickly turned over, yet the person who asked the question didn’t say a single word.
It was as if he didn’t care about the answer to the question at all.
At the same time, inside a certain office of a high-rise building in the city center:
“Oh, he even knows Aunt Zhao?” Tang Qinghao sat on the office chair with his legs crossed, holding a phone that did not belong to him in his hand.
Xu Xiao took the phone back. He had merely asked a few questions of the assistant who came to deliver documents to Tang Qinghao. When he turned his head back, the phone had already been stolen away.
Tang Qinghao had even taken the initiative to ask a question on his own authority.
Xu Xiao and Tang Qinghao could be counted as childhood friends. The two of them were in the same schools from kindergarten to high school, only they had never been in the same class, so their relationship was neither good nor bad.
After Tang Qinghao graduated from university and opened an entertainment company, he then became familiar with Xu Xiao.
Tang Qinghao believed this was all Xu Xiao’s fault.
Who told Xu Xiao to be born with a freezing cold personality? Before witnessing the abundant emotions when Xu Xiao acted, Tang Qinghao had always thought Xu Xiao was actually a poker-face.
The phone returned to Xu Xiao’s hand, yet Tang Qinghao did not stop teasing: “What? Your little streamer didn’t answer with your name, are you disappointed?”
“He’s not mine.” Xu Xiao’s facial features were sharp, his eyebrows and eyes deep. Beautiful as he was, it wasn’t an easy-to-get-along-with appearance. Combined with his high stature and broad shoulders, saying anything with a cold face resembled being displeased.
…It couldn’t be ruled out that his mood right now was indeed not good either.
As a damaging friend, Tang Qinghao was extremely gloating over his misfortune: “I never discovered before that you actually also have a hobby of watching live streams.”
“I don’t.” Xu Xiao wore a Bluetooth earphone in his right ear.
The live stream was still continuing. The boy on the screen covered the lower half of his face with his sleeve, his big eyes blinking one by one.
Xu Xiao glanced toward the upper right corner. A viewer had come to the stream room to come out of the closet, which seemed to frighten the boy.
Like a startled little milk dog.
Different from the other viewers in the stream room, Xu Xiao had always called ‘Sea Salt Lemon’ “Little Lemon” within his heart.
Intuition told him that the little streamer did not like the nickname “Mengmeng.” Every time he heard it, he would slightly purse his mouth.
Xu Xiao’s perception of micro-expressions was more sensitive than ordinary people.
“Hey!” Tang Qinghao over there was still noisily talking, even drowning out that clear and sweet youth’s voice inside the earphone, “I’ve invested money into this platform too, aren’t you curious about this beautiful little brother?”
“Other people earn money for the platform. Is this how you, a boss, treat their privacy?”
Xu Xiao didn’t raise his head when saying this either. He looked at the boy’s flushed little face, as well as that section of an excessively thin wrist poking out from the sleeve cuff.
Does he truly have meals obediently?
Ning Sang, who was very happy eating fast food, received a private message from 0920 during his break after ending the stream in the evening.
The moment he read the content clearly, the cola he drank into his mouth almost sprayed out.
0920 asked him if he drank milk every day.
Ning Sang replied obediently: “I don’t really like drinking milk, you know.”
“I’m not a child again.” Ning Sang stared at the phone, letting out a sound.
Aside from looking cute, Ning Sang also possessed a minefield, which was his height.
Before university, he was shorter than male classmates of the same age, always being teased about whether he drank too little milk.
After growing five centimeters taller in university, he had even once wanted to find out all the people who had mocked him in high school and retort them one by one.
0920 did not sense Ning Sang’s resentment, only saying he should replenish more nutrition, asking whether to mail him a box of milk.
Ning Sang looked at this message, his expression sinking down. He bit his lip, biting his lip until it became congested and painful.
There were many people who used similar methods to fish for Ning Sang’s address. Many purposes could be known what they were at a glance. For someone acting this well, 0920 was instead the first.
“Ha,” Ning Sang threw the phone to one side, “And here I thought he truly was some upright gentleman, aren’t they all the same.”
Only after finishing the fried chicken on the table, tossing the trash, and washing his hands did Ning Sang pick up the phone again, sending an emoji over.
Sea Salt Lemon: “No need to spend money to send me things!”
Different from other streamers, Ning Sang didn’t really actively open his mouth to beg for gifts; the viewers in his stream room didn’t like that kind of him.
What they wanted to see was an obedient child who was forced by helplessness to live stream to make a living.
That was more likely to induce that pitying heart of the viewers.
Ning Sang was already well prepared for the opposite party’s relentless pestering after he said this.
To speak the truth, Ning Sang could not lose this Top Donor. Meeting in person was a no-go, but being a bit sweet-mouthed online and saying more good words to coax him, Ning Sang could still pull down his face to do it.
He possessed no choice.
But 0920 merely told him to go buy milk to drink himself, and furthermore, he had to drink it for him to see in the stream room.
Ning Sang: ……
He stared hard at this line of words, even wanting to screenshot it to send to Cen Wei, asking whether it was his own mind that was dirty to have read an abnormal hint out of it.
Ning Sang knew what kind of excessive demands the Top Donors would raise over at other streamers’ places; 0920 was merely letting him drink a milk, that’s all, he shouldn’t be squeamish here.
Sea Salt Lemon: “Mmh mmh, I’ll place an order immediately and drink it tonight! Is brother still coming to see me tonight?”
Drinking one box of milk must get at least one starlight!
Ning Sang thought viciously.
0920: “I am relatively free during this period of time, I will come frequently.”
The milk Ning Sang ordered via takeout arrived fifteen minutes later. He unpacked one box, placing it on the table, and simultaneously opened the live stream.
People in the stream room grew a bit more numerous at night. Ning Sang still read out the IDs to greet them sweetly.
The Day the Underpants Were Ripped by a Cat: “How come Mengmeng streamed this afternoon?! Having missed it, I’m crying until I faint in the toilet.”
Health Preservation Faction: “Did the streamer change his colored contact lenses today?”
“No, you know,” Ning Sang drew close to the camera, letting everyone see his eyes clearly, “It’s still the original ones, do they look good?”
He never turned on face-slimming during streams, so there was no need to worry about the beauty filter falling off due to moving around wildly.
Health Preservation Faction: “Your eyes are truly beautiful, how old are you this year?”
Gummy Bear: “Our Mengmeng is still a baby, do not harass him!”
“I’m eighteen,” Ning Sang sat back in his position, tearing open the straw of the milk, “Passed my birthday just a few months ago.”
He carried a dull appearance, looking toward the live chat, saying blankly: “What harassment? Sister Gummy Bear doesn’t need to worry about me.”
After these words were spoken, several tipping special effect animations popped out in the stream room again.
Ning Sang thanked them one by one. Streaming up until now, he had not yet seen the special animation for when 0920 entered the stage.
Said he was going to come! A liar who broke his word!
Ning Sang treated the milk underneath as 0920, the straw poking downward viciously.
Some milk overflowed out. Ning Sang again wiped it with a tissue paper in a flurry of hands and feet.
The Day the Underpants Were Ripped by a Cat: “Mengmeng is drinking milk today? So cute.”
“0920 entered the stream room”
Ning Sang did not miss 0920’s special animation. He bit his lip, slowly taking a tissue paper to wipe the milk splashed onto his hand: “Drinking milk and being cute have no relation, you know… Brother, you’ve come?”
Ning Sang carried a face full of pleasant surprise. The money 0920 tipped Ning Sang was truly too much; he gave some special treatment, and the remaining people in the stream room wouldn’t have objections.
Moreover, 0920 was too low-profile; simply not many regular viewers had seen him speak in the stream room.
If it weren’t for seeing Ning Sang’s reaction, they would have even suspected this person was Ning Sang’s parent.
Seeing the main party in position, Ning Sang opened his mouth to bite the straw, beginning to fake-drink.
Disliking drinking milk, aside from the resistance to the height topic, possessed another reason, which was that Ning Sang couldn’t stand the fishy smell of pure cow’s milk.
[0920 tipped Starlight ×2]
Ning Sang released the straw that had been bitten flat by him: “Thank you for brother’s gifts!”
His eyes were bright when he spoke, and because of the action of looking forward at the screen, a few strands of hair drooped onto his cheek.
Ning Sang thought he was truly professional, entirely unaware that on the other side of the screen, a man was facing this face, uttering the word “puppy.”
The question box accumulated some questions, and Ning Sang began to look. When answering, from time to time he bit the straw, yet not a single mouthful of milk was drunk into his mouth, while his lips were instead pursed red.
Streaming required constantly facing the strong light of the screen and the spotlight, and the colored contact lenses Ning Sang wore weren’t a particularly good brand either. Previously only streaming at night was still bearable, but right now having streamed for six or seven hours continuously, his eyes were faintly aching, and with one blink, physiological teardrops emerged from the corners of his eyes.
Gummy Bear: “Is Mengmeng sleepy?”
Ning Sang held that box of completely full milk with both hands, shaking his head: “Chatting with everyone, how could I be sleepy.”
After speaking, he smiled.
The phone placed beside suddenly displayed that there was a private message in the backend. Ning Sang glanced over; it was sent by 0920.
0920: “Sleep earlier.”
Spoken so easily!
You replenish the streaming duration to me!
Ning Sang’s feet placed beneath the table noiselessly stomped the floor a few times.
If 0920 could truly tip him a few hundred thousand in one breath, Ning Sang could perhaps truly go to sleep, without needing to stream here.
But this seemingly generous boss resembled having a plan for the amount of tips within his heart; the money tipped to Ning Sang in one night would never exceed twenty thousand.
Ning Sang’s streaming added up to not even two months. Although not long after he started streaming, 0920 came to watch, the accumulated money was still far from enough.
What Ning Sang rented was an apartment; the place wasn’t large, and inside there was only one big table. All the things that needed to be displayed, he placed on this table before him.
A photo frame was placed at the bottom right of the computer screen. In a place that the camera couldn’t shoot, Ning Sang used his fingertip to touch the two middle-aged people inside the photo frame.
He didn’t let this emotion remain too long, very quickly smiling again and going to talk with the stream room viewers.
As for 0920’s private message, he naturally didn’t reply to it.
When streaming, failing to attend to backend messages was also normal.
Unexpectedly, today’s 0920 was quite persistent; seeing Ning Sang not reply, he directly posted a live chat comment in the stream room.
0920: “When are you resting?”
A special crown sign was hung before his ID, which was extremely conspicuous.
Even if Ning Sang wanted to ignore it, he couldn’t ignore it, not to mention he didn’t want to pretend not to see.
“Still early, you know,” Ning Sang rubbed his eyes, manually rubbing his teardrops out, “I want to stream a bit longer.”
He let his voice go very soft. After rubbing his eyes, Ning Sang lowered his hand, holding that box of milk that couldn’t be finished no matter how he drank, putting on an act for 0920 to see.
Gummy Bear: “Is Mengmeng going to participate in that event? The one where if you reach enough duration, you get homepage exposure next month.”
The Day the Underpants Were Ripped by a Cat: “The duration requirement is twelve hours, right? The condition is too harsh.”
At this time, located in the same City A, inside a large flat in a location where land was worth gold, Xu Xiao saw this live chat comment and knit his brows.
He clicked open the private message with the little streamer, sending a message over.
0920: “You are still growing your body, you need to sleep earlier.”
Fearing the little streamer couldn’t see it while live streaming, he went to the stream room to brush five starlight gifts again.
That sweet voice thanked him for his gifts, and Xu Xiao noticed him glancing to the side.
“I will go to sleep immediately in a moment after ending the stream.” The boy on the screen said obediently.
Xu Xiao moved his finger, posting a “good boy” on the public screen.
Ning Sang stared at that “good boy” word, restraining himself from exposing an expression of having seen a ghost.
He cleared his throat, crossing his arms on the desktop, imitating a good student who received praise from the teacher in the classroom.
Streaming required constantly talking, and furthermore required wearing a mask of a fake smile; toward the end of one live stream, the corners of Ning Sang’s mouth were almost stiff from smiling.
Fortunately, what arrived together with the milk just now was also beer frozen in the refrigerator.
Opening two cans to drink after ending the stream would be good.
He still had to cut videos. How could he sleep immediately as promised?
0920 was estimated to truly be free today, remaining all the way until the early morning hours.
Ning Sang was somewhat surprised. This person urged him to sleep early and wake up early every day, turns out his own routine wasn’t all that great either.
But for Ning Sang, after all, there was no harm; the tips he received today were twice that of a usual day, the big portion among which still came from 0920.
He had to thank him at the first instance after ending the stream, Ning Sang thought reluctantly.
Seeing that the duration was still ten minutes away from reaching the standard, Ning Sang’s mind relaxed a bit. He brought an ending to the stream, saying goodnight to the viewers separately.
“0920 big brother also goodnight.” Ning Sang licked his lips, saying, “Hard on you to accompany me until this late today.”
Most of the time, Ning Sang wouldn’t call male viewers “big brother.” he felt it was awkward and strange.
Seeing that he tipped quite a bit of money today, Ning Sang thought being a bit sweet-mouthed possessed no loss either.
After the duration reached the standard, there would be a pop-up window prompt in the backend. At the same time Ning Sang closed the pop-up window, he waved his hand toward the camera, and then clicked the end stream button.
He was a bit short-sighted, and the colored contact lenses he picked were also with a prescription. Right now his eyes were aching and swelling uncomfortably. He didn’t even have time to turn off the computer before running to the bathroom.
Taking off the colored contact lenses and then washing his face, Ning Sang passed by the refrigerator to grab two cans of beer, strolling back to the side of the wide chair.
Burying himself comfortably into the chair, he picked up the phone on the table.
Before clicking into the backend private messages, a video software push first popped out in the top notification bar.
“The secret hidden beneath a peaceful family, take a sneak peek at the new family sitcom starring Xu Xiao!”
