After The Forced Marriage, I Ended Up With The Top Celebrity - Chapter 33
At the airport, the crew’s charter plane had been waiting for quite some time. Luo Nianshu and Qiao Jinyan pulled their suitcases through the long security hall, passed ticket inspection, and boarded the plane.
“I’ll carry it,” Luo Nianshu said, reaching out to take the suitcase from Qiao Jinyan’s hand, wanting to help place it on the overhead rack. But Qiao Jinyan dodged her hand; the suitcase’s wheels slid a half circle on the floor, perfectly avoiding Luo Nianshu’s grasp.
Qiao Jinyan adjusted her black sunglasses on the bridge of her nose, lips pressed tightly, saying nothing as she walked through the narrow cabin. Then she gently smiled and asked a flight attendant for help to store her suitcase.
Molly happened to see this scene. After placing her own luggage, she came over to Luo Nianshu and asked, “What’s wrong with Yan Yan?”
Qiao Jinyan looked sweet and charming, but in fact, she had a fiery temper and often sulked silently. Though years in the entertainment industry had taught her to be patient and disguise her feelings, Molly, as Qiao Jinyan’s manager for many years, knew her well. Whenever she saw Qiao Jinyan’s cold face, Molly knew she was silently upset.
Luo Nianshu glanced at Qiao Jinyan, chatting and laughing with others in the distance, then rubbed her own nose a bit resignedly. “She’s jealous.”
“Jealous?” Molly narrowed her eyes, looking Luo Nianshu up and down seriously. “What did you do to wrong Yan Yan?”
“Not really.”
“Then whose jealousy is she feeling?”
“Yours.”
Molly: “???”
Luo Nianshu nodded her head while her eyes stayed glued to Qiao Jinyan, who was talking with Tang Fu. She even quickened her steps to approach Qiao Jinyan. Molly was left standing in place, stunned. Qiao Jinyan was jealous of her? She and Luo Nianshu had always been clean and aboveboard. Could it be… Luo Nianshu liked her?
Molly shivered, quickly shaking off the thought. She secretly prayed things were not as she imagined, otherwise Qiao Jinyan might literally come at her with a knife.
Luo Nianshu reached Qiao Jinyan and Tang Fu. Qiao Jinyan had removed her sunglasses by then, and her fox like eyes glanced coldly at Luo Nianshu without any reaction, then turned back to discuss the script with Tang Fu.
Luo Nianshu gritted her teeth and smiled at Tang Fu. “Miss Tang, could you switch seats with me?”
Tang Fu’s eyes flickered between them, sensing the subtle atmosphere. Her expression shifted slightly, a faint smile on her lips, about to say “No,” but Qiao Jinyan quickly stopped her by holding her arm and replied, “No need to switch. The seats were assigned in advance. Please sit in your designated seat.”
“But I want to sit with you,” Luo Nianshu said frankly, standing firm.
That honest statement left everyone speechless for a moment.
A flicker of pleasure passed through Qiao Jinyan’s eyes, though her face remained icy cold. She picked up her phone and turned her head to review the movie’s stills with Tang Fu.
Luo Nianshu raised an eyebrow. Sharing photos on her phone? She could do that too.
Since Qiao Jinyan sat by the aisle with a lot of space beside her, Luo Nianshu naturally squatted next to her and took out her phone to scroll through Weibo.
Whether Qiao Jinyan acknowledged her or not, she began to introduce the content: “Goddess, look, there are already fan comics of us online. You’re drawn as a fox, and I’m a cat.”
Qiao Jinyan pretended not to hear and kept discussing the script with Tang Fu: “This cultivation girl’s personality should be stubborn and obsessive. She experienced a family massacre in her youth…”
“I think we can use this fan art as our couple’s profile pictures. What do you think?”
“…So her path to immortality will be tough because she can’t overcome her inner demons…”
“Oh, and some fans recognized me as netizen E. The latest trending search is ‘netizen E.’ They finally understand what I meant by ‘sleeping with my goddess’ back then.”
Luo Nianshu’s mouth moved nonstop, saying all kinds of things.
Qiao Jinyan’s words suddenly stopped. She turned and glared at Luo Nianshu. “What’s your seat number?”
“What’s wrong?” Luo Nianshu blinked innocently, her peach blossom eyes filled with a triumphant smile.
“I’ll come sit with you.” If she let her keep talking, all their matters would be revealed to the public.
“F45.” Luo Nianshu gave her seat number. Seeing Qiao Jinyan smooth her skirt and stand up, she naturally grabbed Qiao Jinyan’s hand.
Qiao Jinyan clicked her tongue and pulled her hand back, but Luo Nianshu’s movement was faster—she grabbed Qiao Jinyan’s hand firmly, strong but gentle.
Tang Fu turned her head and saw this scene, smiling faintly before looking out the window. For a moment, her eyes were as deep and unfathomable as a lake.
After a while, Tang Fu folded her tray table and pulled down the window shade, and their seat area suddenly darkened.
Luo Nianshu held Qiao Jinyan’s hand as they walked boldly down the aisle. Though feeling the coldness from the person beside her, Luo Nianshu paid no mind.
Passing by the restroom, the plane suddenly jolted, and the two of them lost balance, falling against the restroom door. Luo Nianshu’s body tilted toward Qiao Jinyan due to inertia; she used both arms to brace herself on either side of Qiao Jinyan. Qiao Jinyan feigned annoyance, bending her arms to push against Luo Nianshu’s chest, keeping her from getting closer.
At that moment, a “ding” sounded from the broadcast system. A flight attendant’s voice came slowly through the overhead speaker: “Ladies and gentlemen, due to air turbulence, there is mild shaking. Please do not worry. Passengers in their seats, please fasten your seat belts. Those using the restroom, please hold onto the handrails. Thank you.”
Luo Nianshu looked up, listening for a moment, then reached through Qiao Jinyan’s waist, who immediately moved away: “What are you doing?”
“Just opening the restroom door.” Luo Nianshu shrugged and twisted the handle, then stepped inside.
Qiao Jinyan was still in her arms, so as Luo Nianshu moved, Qiao Jinyan had to back into the restroom.
A bad feeling descended. Qiao Jinyan hesitated and stopped, pressed close to Luo Nianshu in the cramped space: “You go use the restroom; I’ll leave.”
“Together,” Luo Nianshu replied decisively, already locking the restroom door behind her. The green sign instantly turned red, meaning “occupied.”
Qiao Jinyan stepped back, but the space was small, and they were still very close.
“Weren’t you going to ‘do it’ with me?” Luo Nianshu stepped forward, lowering her voice at Qiao Jinyan’s ear. Her warm breath made Qiao Jinyan shiver and get goosebumps.
“You pervert.”
A blush spread across Qiao Jinyan’s cheeks, and her voice lost the fiery edge from before. Feeling the pressure on her body, she had to brace herself on the handrail behind and lean back a bit.
Luo Nianshu was pleased with her obedient look. A conquering thrill rose in her heart. She took a hair tie from her pocket and tied up her hair, continuing to lean down.
“Don’t get too wild. This is a public place.”
“Hm, true.”
Luo Nianshu’s eyes fell on Qiao Jinyan’s creamy skin, smooth and gleaming under the window light, which further awakened her desire to taste.
Her eyes darkened.
“Then we can just do part of it.”
One hour later.
The restroom’s red sign quickly flickered green. Click. The door opened. Luo Nianshu stepped out first, looking as satisfied as a cat that had just stolen a fish.
Qiao Jinyan tidied her shirt collar in the mirror, hiding the red marks on her neck, then came out. Her big eyes stared at Luo Nianshu, but the earlier anger was gone.
Luo Nianshu smiled slightly, took Qiao Jinyan’s hand, and this time she didn’t resist but cooperated as they walked side by side toward their seats.
Luo Nianshu’s smile deepened.
Bed partners at the head, feet apart.
There was nothing that a good sleep couldn’t solve.
“Assistant, I have something to tell you.”
Molly came over carrying a laptop. Seeing Qiao Jinyan beside Luo Nianshu, she instinctively stepped back, deliberately keeping some distance.
“What is it?” Luo Nianshu was confused and stepped forward.
Molly looked a little embarrassed. She glanced at Qiao Jinyan and stepped back again. “Business matters.”
Business?
She hadn’t been involved in Qiao Jinyan’s work for a long time. So what business? It must be something about Zhang Wei Yin, so Molly said that.
Luo Nianshu paused and gestured for them to sit and talk. Molly hesitated, glanced at Qiao Jinyan, and hinted Luo Nianshu to ask Qiao Jinyan to leave.
Luo Nianshu shook her head. “No, just say it. She already knows.”
Knows? Molly was stunned again. Qiao Jinyan sat coldly, looking down on the two of them: “Yeah, I know. You two are even better actors than me.”
That sentence made Molly sweat profusely.
Since Luo Nianshu came back, she found herself inexplicably offending Qiao Jinyan.
Clearing her throat, Molly opened her laptop and played a video.
“This is the person who delivered the package that day. He didn’t look like a courier. After contacting the police, we found out that his account received a remittance from China a few days ago.”
The video showed a man wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a mask, sneakily coming to Qiao Jinyan’s apartment, leaving a parcel, then looking around cautiously as if checking for cameras.
Luo Nianshu nodded seriously. “I’ve given you all the information I collected. What does the agency say?”
“The information is useful but not yet comprehensive. The agency’s stance is still ambiguous. The higher-ups are still considering whether to fight a powerful director who supports half the industry for the sake of a superstar actress.”
Molly said this cautiously, worried the vague agency attitude would hurt Qiao Jinyan. But Qiao Jinyan leaned back steadily in her chair, her expression unchanged.
“I’ve also had someone find more information. I’ll hand it to you when I get back today,” Qiao Jinyan said calmly, feeling Luo Nianshu’s grip on her hand tighten.
Luo Nianshu didn’t want Qiao Jinyan involved, but she had to.
She didn’t want to see herself harmed, nor would she let Qiao Jinyan get hurt.
“The agency also asks you to help persuade them,” Qiao Jinyan looked at Molly earnestly, but quickly her eyes turned sharp and resolute. “I’m going to meet someone in the next two days. With her help, things will progress much smoother.”
She had to see that person as soon as possible.
Qiao Jinyan squinted thoughtfully.
No more delays.
The longer it dragged on, the greater the danger for both her and Luo Nianshu.
