Chapter 33: Tang Yin, You Took Advantage of Me, You Are Shameless…
Tang Yin took Xia Shinan back to the hotel. As soon as the door opened, the two figures entered and the door closed immediately.
The room light was off. Tang Yin was supporting Xia Shinan with one hand and hadn’t had time to insert the room card when her wrist was grabbed.
Xia Shinan buried her face in Tang Yin’s shoulder and neck, exhaling hot breaths, her hands tightly gripping Tang Yin’s clothes.
“Tang Yin, I feel uncomfortable.”
Tang Yin’s body stiffened. Logic told her that taking advantage of someone in this state was wrong. But a voice of evil in her heart whispered: “What are you afraid of? Is this the time for you to have a change of heart? Then you shouldn’t have told the driver to change routes earlier; you should have forcibly taken her to the hospital.”
“But you still listened to her and brought her back to the hotel. Tang Yin, don’t pretend to be a good person now.”
Logic was gradually self-destructing, and the final blow to Tang Yin was Xia Shinan’s initiative to press her lips against hers. Tang Yin closed her eyes, feeling Xia Shinan’s clumsy and reckless kiss—awkward and hasty, quickly making them both breathless.
The room card had long fallen to the floor. She cupped Xia Shinan’s cheeks with both hands. After adapting to the darkness, she looked at the girl in front of her again. Her face was flushed, her deep brown eyes were moist, but unlike her usual innocence, they carried a hint of desire, much like a cherry after the rain, tempting one to pick and taste.
“Shinan, do you… know what you’re doing?”
Xia Shinan was close to tears, as if uttering the most fatal spell, and the next moment she kissed Tang Yin’s lips again, “Help me, Tang Tang.”
The next second, the crying stopped in the room, replaced by hurried breaths, whimpering, and the sound of fabric rubbing.
Xia Shinan was very anxious, relentlessly wanting to move towards Tang Yin, finally finding a source of water in a dry desert, desperately drawing from it like a life-saving straw.
“Tang Tang, I’m hot. Help me.”
“Tang Tang, don’t go.”
Xia Shinan would cry after saying a couple of words. Tang Yin had just washed her hands and went to soothe her again. Her body was frighteningly hot. Tang Yin tenderly kissed her lips, her eyes, and finally gently bit Xia Shinan’s earlobe, “Be good. We’ll take it slow.”
Tang Yin had never thought she would be this intimate with Xia Shinan. She was extra careful, afraid of hurting her. In the beginning, she could only rely on instinct and some basic physiological knowledge, cautiously exploring and soothing. Only after observing that Xia Shinan showed no signs of discomfort from her tentative touch, and when her finger felt moisture, did she proceed.
Xia Shinan hugged her neck tightly, her breathing rhythm completely chaotic. Her whole body was trembling, and finally, she cried out again, “Tang Tang…”
No one had ever called her such a cloying nickname, especially not under these circumstances. It was like an aphrodisiac, causing Tang Yin to completely surrender.
“Shinan, I’m here.”
The sound of running water came from the bathroom. After a quick wash, Tang Yin soaked a clean towel and gently wiped Xia Shinan, which would help her sleep more comfortably.
The flush on Xia Shinan’s face was back to normal. She was currently exhausted and asleep. However, Tang Yin was unusually awake. She looked at Xia Shinan’s sleeping face, feeling her own heart beating rapidly.
She didn’t know what Xia Shinan would say to her when she woke up, but she’d probably cry. Without the drugging incident, they probably wouldn’t have reached this point.
Tang Yin gently touched Xia Shinan’s forehead, tidying the stray strands of hair. The girl looked even more harmless while sleeping. Unfortunately, this little white rabbit had been deceived by her.
She truly was a bad person, deceiving feelings, and even… doing the most intimate thing with her.
When the truth came out, Xia Shinan would definitely hate her. The thought sent a sudden pang to Tang Yin’s heart.
She lowered her head and kissed the girl’s forehead, muttering, “Xia Shinan, can we have a future?”
The phone under the bed vibrated again. Tang Yin got up to retrieve it and saw it was a call from Qian Yu.
“Is Shinan better? Is she sober?” Qian Yu’s first words were full of concern.
Tang Yin glanced at the still-sleeping Xia Shinan, “She’s much better, just… resting.”
Qian Yu sighed in relief on the other end: “That’s great… The police came and left. Lin Yu hired a lawyer to deal with us. This is complicated. I thought about it, and I have to ask Shinan’s opinion. The best solution is to tell her family and have the Xia family handle it.”
The Xia family…
Tang Yin recalled Xia Shinan’s tears and said firmly, “We can’t let the Xia family handle it. Shinan definitely doesn’t want to tell her family.”
Qian Yu: “I also guessed she wouldn’t want to, but the Lin family has a prominent reputation in A City. The fact that Lin Yu dared to do this means he’s not afraid of us calling the police.”
“But are we just going to let this go? I can’t accept that.”
A hint of ruthlessness flashed in Tang Yin’s eyes, “Who said we’re letting it go?”
The truth she had believed in since childhood was to treat others the way they treat you.
Qian Yu sighed, “Which hospital are you at? I’m coming right away.”
Tang Yin paused and cleared her throat, “Not at a hospital.”
“If not at a hospital, then where?”
Tang Yin suddenly felt guilty, and her voice softened, “A hotel near the school. Shinan said she didn’t want to go to the hospital…”
Less than twenty minutes later, hurried footsteps were heard in the hallway outside the room. Just as the person was about to knock, Tang Yin quickly opened the door.
Qian Yu was followed by Ming Jing. Both clearly rushed over immediately after hanging up the phone and taking a taxi. Tang Yin put her index finger to her lips, signaling them to be quiet, before letting the two in.
Then, she pulled Qian Yu and Ming Jing into the bathroom and closed the door.
“I want to see Shinan! Why are you dragging me into the bathroom?!” Qian Yu glared at Tang Yin, annoyed.
“She’s sleeping. Whatever you need to say can wait until she wakes up,” Tang Yin said.
Qian Yu sneered, “Sleeping? Tang Yin, dare you honestly tell me what you two did in the hotel just now?!”
She hadn’t realized it at first. Could Xia Shinan get better by sleeping in a hotel instead of going to the hospital? What other way was there besides a doctor’s treatment?
Once she figured it out, she rushed straight to the hotel.
Tang Yin looked up at Qian Yu and said seriously, “Yes, we slept together.”
“You shameless!”
Without thinking, Qian Yu slapped her across the face.
Ming Jing was stunned and quickly pulled back Qian Yu, who was about to hit her again, “Talk nicely. Why are you hitting people?”
“What’s wrong with me hitting her? She’s much more out of line! Shinan treats her as a good friend, and what did she do?!” Qian Yu was furious, “Tang Yin, you took advantage of her! You are shameless! Did you have your eye on Xia Shinan all along, just waiting for a good opportunity like this?”
“I trusted you so much to take care of Shinan!”
Tang Yin felt a burning pain on her face. She looked at Qian Yu, her attitude surprisingly calm, “Hit me if you want. Keep your voice down, don’t wake her up.”
Qian Yu pointed at Tang Yin, speechless for a moment, “You… then I should really thank you for being so concerned!”
“Yes, yes, Tang Yin is right. Don’t wake Shinan up,” Ming Jing quickly mediated, “We need to wait until the person involved is present, right? What if Junior Xia was willing?”
“Willing my foot!” Qian Yu was feeling the pain of her “cabbage” (Xia Shinan) being “stolen by a pig” (Tang Yin) after twenty years of raising her. “You two are in this together! From now on, I’ll take care of Shinan. Both of you leave! When Shinan wakes up, I’ll come back and settle the score with you!”
“Little Yu Mao…”
Just then, the bathroom door suddenly opened again. It was Xia Shinan! She woke up, vaguely hearing the voices from the bathroom. After listening carefully for a few sentences, she quickly slipped into a dress and rushed over.
“Shinan, why are you awake?” Qian Yu was frantically worried, but Tang Yin was quicker, pulling Xia Shinan into her arms, “Go back to bed?”
Qian Yu shouted protectively, “Don’t touch her!”
Tang Yin frowned, but her tone was still gentle, “She’s not feeling well right now. Whatever issues you have with me, we can talk about them later.”
Xia Shinan shook her head, looking at Qian Yu: “Little Yu Mao, don’t blame Tang Yin. I was the one who said not to go to the hospital.”
“Even if you don’t go to the hospital, she still can’t… bully you!” Qian Yu stomped her foot, furious, “Shinan, she took advantage of you, and you’re still speaking up for her!”
Xia Shinan lowered her head, feeling a rush of guilt, “I’m sorry, Little Yu Mao. We were… already together before, so we…”
Qian Yu was stunned, “What do you mean by ‘together’?”
Ming Jing cleared her throat awkwardly, “It means they’re dating. They probably hadn’t had a chance to tell you yet.”
Qian Yu stared blankly at Xia Shinan and Tang Yin.
The scenes that felt odd in the past suddenly flooded her mind: Why did Tang Yin stay in the same guesthouse as Xia Shinan? Why did they walk hand-in-hand? It turned out… they were dating.
She seized the main point: “When did you get together? Everyone else knows, and I don’t?”
Ming Jing awkwardly pointed to herself, “The ‘everyone else’ you’re talking about… is me?”
Tang Yin glared at Ming Jing, signaling her to stop talking, then said, “We just got together recently. We didn’t have time to tell you yet. I was the one who asked her to keep it a secret first. If you want to blame someone, blame me.”
Qian Yu looked at the three of them, grabbed her bag, and was ready to leave without saying anything else.
“Little Yu Mao!” Xia Shinan reached out to grab her but was shaken off by Qian Yu.
“Don’t call me!” Qian Yu looked at Xia Shinan with tears in her eyes, “I treat you as my best friend, but you don’t tell me anything! Everyone knows but me. I’m worried about you like an idiot. I’m the dumbest person in the world!”
“Bang!” The door opened and then slammed shut heavily. Qian Yu seemed to have vented all her emotions. The loud noise made Xia Shinan instantly burst into tears.
She quickly tried to go out but was stopped by Tang Yin, “She’s angry. You haven’t fully recovered yet. You need to rest properly.”
“No, I can’t. Little Yu Mao is my best friend. I can’t let her be angry,” Xia Shinan sobbed, “Where’s my phone? I need to call her.”
“I’ll get your phone. Will you lie back down on the bed?” Tang Yin coaxed, then realized there was still another person in the room.
Ming Jing awkwardly coughed again, “She probably hasn’t gone far. I’ll go help explain. Since you’re good friends, she’ll definitely listen. You rest well for now. Don’t cry anymore. Tang Yin is here with you…”
The door closed again, this time softly and gently.
Tang Yin hugged Xia Shinan back to the bed, tucked her in, and put the phone in her hand, “If the call doesn’t go through, just send her a message. She’ll definitely see it.”
“Mhm.” Xia Shinan nodded obediently, but then she saw the red mark on Tang Yin’s face. She had heard the sound of a slap when she woke up. Later, she was so busy explaining to Qian Yu that she completely forgot. Now, she felt distressed and incredibly guilty.
“Does your face hurt? It’s all my fault. Everything that happened today is my fault.”
Tang Yin touched her head, “It’s not your fault, and it doesn’t hurt anymore. Besides, Qian Yu is your good friend. Her hitting me for your sake… I deserve it.”
Xia Shinan immediately understood, bit her lip, lowered her head, and slowly and haltingly said: “Actually, at that time… I was conscious, so I did it willingly.”
Tang Yin froze, forcing a smile that looked somewhat strained, “You don’t blame me?”
Xia Shinan shook her head, “Of course not. Tang Yin, I love you. Although I wasn’t prepared for this, I was willing to… be with you.”
Tang Yin listened to her words, each one landing in her heart, making it surprisingly hot. Her own extremely conflicted inner self seemed ugly and shameful in the face of Xia Shinan’s honesty.
Her desires, her demands, were like a dark abyss that would scare anyone who looked into it, but Xia Shinan was foolishly deceived into it, and even smiled and told her: I was willing.
She dared not look into Xia Shinan’s innocent eyes, so she closed her own and hugged her tightly.
“I’m sorry.”
