A fatal bug has appeared in the world-renowned Lovecraftian TRPG holographic game, Seven billion people across the globe have been randomly selected for forced login. They must participate in dangerous puzzle-solving instances and struggle to survive at the hands of various Evil Gods.
Lalai, one of the original Evil Gods, joins this predatory game after a century-long slumber. However… Lalai stares at the mission panel before her and falls into deep thought: Me? Original Evil God? A Player? Fine, fine. If that’s how you want to play, just you wait.
Lalai, a “pure rookie” player who has been out of touch for a hundred years, knows absolutely nothing in the instances, leading other players to silently offer prayers for her: This pretty lady is quite nice, it’s just a shame she’ll probably die fast.
The instances are fraught with peril, and supernatural horrors emerge one after another. Just as the players are kneeling to write their final wills, Lalai suddenly sees the light. She seizes the Boss by the throat: “This is how you play the game, right?” Players: “…?” Players: “Doing it like that makes the rest of us look really stupid.”
To gain higher power, the Evil Gods spare no effort in opening instances and deluding humans, striving to enter the Top 10 of the Evil God Faith Value Rankings. The rankings refresh daily. An obscure name at the very bottom suddenly skyrockets, eventually reaching a height that other Evil Gods can only dream of!
The Evil Gods: “Who is this? We’ve never seen her open an instance?!” “Ding-dong, The instance Boss has been annihilated. This instance is now permanently closed.” “Wishing all players a pleasant game in the future!”
Walking out of the instance, Lalai nods in greeting: “As long as there are fewer people in front of me, my ranking will naturally be higher.”
