After the Beautiful Omega Was Targeted by His Straight Roommate - Chapter 42
The current pulsed through his brain, making Tao Ran shiver.
After a long silence, he let out a very soft sigh, slowly raised his hands to wrap around Qi Yuxiao’s waist, and nuzzled his face against the other man’s collarbone.
For some reason, it felt as though Qi Yuxiao’s dependence on his pheromones had grown deeper since they started sleeping together. Previously, he only needed a hug and a scent when it was time for bed. Now, not only did they sleep in each other’s arms every night, but it had gradually reached the point where he needed a hug just to step out the door.
Sometimes Tao Ran even wondered if his pheromones were laced with something, perhaps they were addictive or something similar. Otherwise, why would Qi Yuxiao get so high on the scent every time?
Then, a faint worry began to creep in. With such frequent and intimate contact every day, could Qi Yuxiao’s sleep disorder really be cured? What if, in the end, Qi Yuxiao became completely unable to live without his pheromones?
The tip of Qi Yuxiao’s nose brushed repeatedly against the side of Tao Ran’s neck. The closer he got to the most sensitive part of the nape, the richer the fragrance seeping from the delicate skin became. It flowed incessantly into his mind with every breath, stimulating a surge of pleasure.
The human heart is never satisfied.
At first, a mere thread of scent was enough to soothe the restlessness and excitement in his body. But now, it had gradually reached a point where simply smelling it was no longer enough.
Qi Yuxiao’s long, deep eyes suddenly narrowed. Driven by physical instinct, he buried his face even closer, closing his eyes and indulging in the fragrance that worked so hard to envelop and soothe his nerves.
It was not enough. It was still not enough.
When he opened his eyes again, a trace of crimson flashed in his pupils. Unconsciously, he parted his teeth and bit down on that tender skin that looked as if it were about to weep moisture.
In that moment, a sense of absolute satiation filled his emptiness. The fragrance was overwhelming, and the texture was tender and soft.
Tao Ran had been immersed in Qi Yuxiao’s burning embrace. His fair cheeks were flushed a deep red from the scorching heat, and he was almost nodding off.
Suddenly, a wet sensation spread across the side of his neck. Immediately afterward, the other man’s teeth clamped onto his flesh like a predator holding its prey, before pressing and grinding against the soft skin like a blunt blade.
Tao Ran opened his eyes in shock and hurriedly tried to push Qi Yuxiao away. But Qi Yuxiao’s arms were clamped around his waist like iron bands; no matter how much force he used, the other man did not budge.
“Qi Yuxiao,” Tao Ran’s voice trembled beyond recognition.
The neck was far too sensitive. This vulnerable part of an Omega, rather than receiving gentle and meticulous care, was being ground and bitten without mercy. Shivers coursed through Tao Ran’s body as his sensitive nerves were repeatedly tormented. Soon, his strength began to drain. His waist felt numb, and his legs grew so weak he could barely stand straight.
“Qi Yuxiao, you, you,” using the last of his strength, Tao Ran pushed the head buried in his neck away, his face flaring with a rare mix of shame and anger. “Let go!”
But his voice was soft and light, lacking even a hint of intimidation.
Qi Yuxiao remained silent but released his teeth. Just as Tao Ran was about to sigh in relief, the other man moved to another spot and bit him again. The muscles covering the young man’s body were as hard as iron, and the innate air of dominant aggression in his bones was fully exposed at this moment. His actions were simply impossible to resist.
“I’m going to be late, Qi Yuxiao,” Tao Ran said. His heart hammered violently with fear.
As if something had finally woken him, Qi Yuxiao’s eyes flickered with a momentary daze before regaining a sliver of clarity. He froze in that position for a long time, and a flash of regret for his lack of restraint crossed his eyes.
He released his hold. His gaze fell upon his handiwork.
Several clear marks were indented into the snowy-white skin of Tao Ran’s neck, noticeably covered in the moisture of his saliva. One spot was particularly pathetic, bearing several overlapping pink tooth marks that showed just how excessive the culprit had been.
Feeling the pressure finally ease, Tao Ran snapped back to reality and hurriedly pushed Qi Yuxiao away. Once they were apart, Tao Ran was a mess of panic and fear; he quickly covered his bitten neck.
Usually soft-tempered, he could not help but snap in anger. “We agreed it was just a hug! Why did you suddenly bite me?”
Qi Yuxiao’s expression remained blank for ten seconds. Hearing Tao Ran’s accusation, he immediately apologized. “I’m sorry. I lost control for a moment.”
Tao Ran’s heart was in disarray. He was still angry, but since the other man had apologized so sincerely, he could not continue to scold him. He shifted his gaze awkwardly and spoke in a softened tone. “Don’t do that again next time.”
Qi Yuxiao’s sudden behavior had left Tao Ran so flustered that he briefly forgot the important matter of going to work. He hurriedly zipped his jacket to the very top, completely hiding his neck covered in red marks, grabbed his backpack, and practically fled the dormitory.
Qi Yuxiao stared blankly at Tao Ran’s retreating back. Long after he had disappeared and silence had returned to the room, a look of remorse appeared on his face. He did not know what had hijacked his reason just now, causing him to do something so excessive that it scared Tao Ran.
But what Qi Yuxiao did know was that these primitive, beast-like acts of marking and possessing were the results of following his heart and physical instincts.
He felt remorse, but not because he had done those things to Tao Ran. Rather, he felt the timing was wrong. He should have been more patient, coaxing him more, or perhaps acting a bit pitiful. Then, the soft-hearted Tao Ran would have allowed his excessive behavior again.
Qi Yuxiao’s eyes grew dark and unreadable as he returned to his usual inscrutable self. He walked to the balcony. Looking down from the balcony to the ground below, he soon spotted a hurried figure. The boy was wearing a grey hoodie. As he ran, his hood bounced along with the stray hairs on his head.
A hint of a smile appeared in Qi Yuxiao’s eyes. His gaze was like a dense, inescapable iron net, tracking the target figure until it disappeared in the distance. Only then did he slowly withdraw his gaze.
His eyes inadvertently fell upon a corner of the balcony. A green plastic basin was there, with several pieces of clothing soaking inside.
Judging by the color, it was the pajamas Tao Ran had changed out of this morning. The water in the basin was still. Qi Yuxiao’s sharp eyes caught a corner of pure white cotton fabric among the layered pajamas. It floated quietly in the water like a weak and useless cry for help. The rest of it was buried deep inside the pajamas, suppressed ruthlessly. It was quite pathetic.
A flash of playfulness crossed Qi Yuxiao’s eyes. He bent over, picked up the basin, and carried it into the bathroom sink.
Tao Ran ran from the dorm and out of the school. This time without Xu Jiali, he took the bus alone and transferred to the subway. By the time he stepped out of the subway station, he was still in a daze. His heart was thumping wildly, hammering against his chest and constantly interfering with his thoughts.
Walking toward the bar, he finally managed to calm his frantic mind. Only then did he have the courage to recall what had just happened. His hand instinctively reached into the gap of his collar, but the moment he touched the spot where he was bitten, his fingers jerked back.
The saliva on his skin had dried, and the shallower marks had faded, but the most severe spot still felt like it had deep craters from the teeth. When Qi Yuxiao bit his neck just now, that feeling of dominance that allowed no resistance had left him flustered until now. He was still a bit dazed; his heart rate, which had just stabilized, began to accelerate again.
When Qi Yuxiao bit his neck, the feeling of mistaking him for an Alpha invaded his brain again without warning. Tao Ran lowered his thick eyelashes, hiding the distress in his eyes.
He really could not blame himself. This behavior of biting the neck was just too similar to an Alpha wanting to mark an Omega.
But Tao Ran knew very well that Qi Yuxiao was not an Alpha. Not only was he not an Alpha, but he was also a straight man.
So far, among the things Qi Yuxiao had done to him, two were the most baffling and triggered the strongest reactions.
First, when Qi Yuxiao praised his pheromones for smelling good. In an ABO world, that is a form of flirting. But in this world, there are no pheromones, so telling someone they smell good is just one of the most common types of praise.
Second, the neck-biting. In an ABO world, an Alpha biting an Omega’s neck is a primitive, instinctive act of possession and marking.
Regarding the first behavior, Tao Ran had already completely convinced himself and corrected his thinking. After all, besides Qi Yuxiao, many people in this world had praised his scent; it was normal. If anything, he was the abnormal one. Tao Ran did not understand why he only had such a strong reaction to Qi Yuxiao’s praise.
But for the second behavior, Tao Ran could not come up with a single explanation no matter how hard he racked his brain. In his ABO worldview, this act was even more intimate than the help from this morning, carrying a heavy tone of ambiguity.
In the middle of his chaotic thoughts, Tao Ran suddenly remembered the help from this morning. Qi Yuxiao said that only people who are very close do that. Thus, he narrowed down the group of people who would perform neck-biting from everyone in this world to very close straight male friends.
The answer seemed to be right there.
Tao Ran skillfully opened his phone and tapped the AI app again. He did not know how to phrase the help question for the AI assistant, but he could definitely ask this one.
He tapped the app several times, but for some reason, the phone did not respond. He grew anxious and tapped a few more times. Finally, with a bit of a lag, the page popped up. The window appeared again, but with a different prompt this time:
[This software has experienced multiple bugs. It is currently barely repaired. Please use with caution.]
But Tao Ran was too impatient for the answer. He did not even have the patience to read the prompt and clicked the X directly. The familiar Pink Star AI assistant jumped out.
Tao Ran clicked the chat box and his fingers flew across the screen. [Excuse me, can very close straight male friends bite each other’s necks?]
The reply box for Pink Star showed a spinning circle. The software lagged three times in a row. Tao Ran did not notice anything unusual, as his only focus was the answer.
Finally, the Pink Star assistant gave a long response, but the opening sentence had changed:
[Why can’t very close straight male friends bite each other’s necks?]
[Biting the neck is a very intimate interaction. If a very close straight male friend does this to you, it means he wants the relationship between you to become even more intimate.]
This time, the AI’s answer was concise and clear, without useless filler like the definition of a straight man. Tao Ran figured the programmer had upgraded the AI model while fixing the bugs.
Truthfully, he had been asking while already suspecting the answer, but seeing the confirmation, he still could not help but breathe a secret sigh of relief.
Looking at the answer, Tao Ran felt a sense of “I knew it.” His eyes moved slightly as he stared at the screen, lost in thought.
Qi Yuxiao wants to be even more intimate with him? Tao Ran could not quite figure it out. They hugged frequently, they now slept in the same bed every day, and Qi Yuxiao had even helped him. Tao Ran felt they were clearly already very, very intimate.
How much more intimate did Qi Yuxiao want to be?
