After Snagging a Stuffy Giant-Wealthy Daddy - Chapter 20.1
James struggled, his face full of horror, the shirt on his body torn out of shape. “Mr. Shao! I. You listen to my explanation!”
He had barely squeezed out a few words when a bodyguard slapped him hard, his head snapping violently to one side. Another tall bodyguard directly gripped his jaw, controlling the force precisely to prevent him from making a sound without dislocating the joint.
His accomplice was also subdued cleanly and instantly, his spine pressed heavily under the bodyguard’s knee, his entire face pinned to the floor, emitting muffled groans.
The Shao family’s bodyguards were well-trained. Many were retired boxers from Southeast Asia, and some were even mercenaries; they were not the hollow shells bought by ordinary wealthy people to make a scene. Their strikes were ruthless, quick, and decisive.
The suite was a mess, and the men in black quickly dragged the disheveled pair away.
Li Chu sat there blankly, not looking at Shao Tingyue and without any expression. His shirt had been unbuttoned more than halfway, revealing a pale chest.
Shao Tingyue knelt on one knee on the floor, briefly checking him over. There were no suspicious marks, so he helped him fasten every button one by one.
“Chu Zai, don’t be afraid. Second Uncle is here.” The man’s voice was hoarse, tinged with lingering fear.
The teenager’s eyes were unfocused. He had no reaction to his touch or his arrival, his breathing shallow.
“Li Chu.” Shao Tingyue furrowed his brow, cradling his cheeks with his palms. “Look at me. I am Second Uncle.”
Li Chu’s beautiful pupils moved, his eyelashes catching the light like scattered stardust.
“Second Uncle.” He repeated it like a broken record.
Shao Tingyue’s heart felt as if it were being violently squeezed, his complexion looking terrifyingly gloomy. He took off his suit jacket, wrapped Li Chu up tightly from head to toe, and then picked him up horizontally.
Li Chu felt impossibly light in his arms, and terrifyingly quiet.
Liang Wei had arranged for a few people to stay behind to clean up. Following at his side and watching the young master in Shao Tingyue’s arms, a flash of pity crossed his heart. He really had not expected that anyone in Hong Kong would dare to lay a hand on the Shao family’s young master, and it was fortunate that no major disaster had occurred.
Although they had been detained, James was the youngest son of Director Chen.
The Chen family had a single heir for three generations. The original Mrs. Chen only had two daughters. This James was an illegitimate son secretly born to a maid. Hong Kong’s wealthy families valued bloodline inheritance; even if his birth mother was considered unworthy, James had become the most doted-upon young master of the Chen family. For these years, Director Chen had taken him everywhere to make introductions and attend banquets, and anyone with an eye could see he was being groomed as the heir.
Although the Chen family had been declining over these years, they still had a name and face in Hong Kong. Liang Wei was not sure how Shao Tingyue intended to handle this. But right now, there was something more important.
“Boss, Young Master Chu’s state does not look quite right. I suspect he was drugged.”
Shao Tingyue did not speak, his arms tightening around the boy, an intimidating, terrifying murderous aura radiating from him.
“Question them clearly about exactly what they did to Li Chu. Have a doctor rush to the Shao Mansion immediately.”
Liang Wei whispered a reminder, “If the Chen family wants to pursue this, we…”
Shao Tingyue did not stop his pace while carrying him. He only turned his face slightly and gave Liang Wei a glance devoid of the slightest warmth.
It was chilling, filled with murderous intent. Even Liang Wei felt a chill down his spine. Having followed this shipping tycoon for years, this was the first time he had seen such an expression.
Two years ago, a Shao Group freighter was boarded by pirates in the Strait of Malacca, and a large quantity of goods was stolen or damaged. To prevent the stock price from plummeting, the Shao Group joined hands with the insurance company to bear all the losses to stabilize morale. Fifty million US dollars; Shao Tingyue had not even blinked. Yet now, for the young master in his arms, he was actually…
Liang Wei immediately lowered his head. “Understood.”
Shao Tingyue carried Li Chu into the elevator. The mirrored walls reflected the teenager’s bewildered face—very obedient, obedient in a way that was not right at all.
The Rolls-Royce sped all the way back to the Shao Mansion, where Uncle Ming and Auntie Mei were already waiting at the main entrance. When the two saw Li Chu being carried back, their hearts shook. Only after drawing closer and seeing his face clearly—noticing no obvious injuries—did they breathe a sigh of relief.
“Thank God, Mazu bless us!” Auntie Mei clutched her heart and muttered continuously. The young master was truly prone to mishaps; to think that someone would dare to harbor such crooked thoughts right under their noses!
Shao Tingyue took Li Chu back to his bedroom and placed him on the grand bed. The child still had no expression, his eyes following him the whole time, not saying a word. His eyes were beautiful, like amber gemstones, reflecting his own face.
Shao Tingyue lowered his eyes slightly and rubbed the top of his head. “Sit properly. Second Uncle will get a towel to wipe your face.”
Li Chu blinked lightly, and sure enough, he sat obediently, like a baby in kindergarten sitting in a row.
Shao Tingyue could not help but chuckle. “Chu Zai is so good. Second Uncle will give you a little red flower as a reward.”
Li Chu repeated, “Lit-tle. Red. Flow-er!”
In the bathroom, Shao Tingyue wetted a towel with hot water and carefully wiped Li Chu’s face. The teenager tilted his face up, his eyes half-closed, seemingly enjoying the action.
Shao Tingyue truly had the illusion that he was taking care of a baby. After wiping his face and seeing that his clothes were dirty, he said again, “Be good. Second Uncle will go get your pajamas. Let’s take these off and change them later.”
Li Chu paused and nodded again.
Shao Tingyue went to the dressing room to find pajamas. Most of Li Chu’s clothes were in light colors, neatly hung by depth, length, brand, and season. In the drawer was a stack of pure white briefs in a very small size; one of his own could equal two of his.
Shao Tingyue’s fingertips brushed across them, his eyes darkening, and he finally found a set of pajamas in the corner.
There was a rustling sound behind him. As he turned around, his pupils suddenly contracted.
Under the soft light of the bedroom, the teenager was standing a few steps away, completely naked.
His skin was fair, his bone structure symmetrical, and most of his height was concentrated in his legs. Every part of his body was pink and white, like a meticulously carved porcelain statue.
Shao Tingyue felt a wave of scorching heat surge from his heart to the top of his head. His temples throbbed, and even the veins on his forehead popped out.
His voice was very hoarse. “Li Chu, what are you doing?”
Li Chu tilted his head, his bare feet stepping on the messy clothes on the wooden floor, somewhat at a loss.
Shao Tingyue rubbed his brow, remembering that he had just told him to take off his clothes to change, and thus said patiently, “Good boy, we. Let us put our clothes on first.”
Li Chu did not answer. He was cold from being undressed, so he instinctively burrowed into Shao Tingyue’s arms. His mind was a chaotic mess, yet he felt that the man before him was safe and reliable. He wanted to press tightly against the other party, his head rubbing against his chest to seek warmth.
Shao Tingyue spent the greatest willpower of his life putting clothes on Li Chu and wrapping him in the quilt like a caterpillar to prevent him from making trouble again.
The child found it fun and began to earnestly cosplay a caterpillar. Then, his gaze pursued the man before him, watching him pace back and forth in the room anxiously.
After staring for a while, he found a new target—the two little pigs on the table—but his hands were bound, so he could only watch them longingly.
Soon, Liang Wei called Shao Tingyue back. James on the ground was already unconscious, while his accomplice was trembling, having wet his pants from fear.
“Boss, we have asked everything.” Liang Wei reported swiftly. “Young Master Chu was drugged with a Southeast Asian import, commonly known as ‘obedient water.’ Once drugged, you just have to wait for the body to metabolize it naturally; there is no specific antidote.”
Shao Tingyue actually already had a vague guess in his heart. He furrowed his brow and asked, “How long does the drug effect last? Are there any side effects?”
With a glance from Liang Wei, the bodyguard in black beside the accomplice prepared to strike. The man was immediately frightened to the point of tears and snot, answering eagerly, “N-no side effects! Just, just when he wakes up tomorrow, he will forget everything. There will not be any other harm, really! We just planned to play a joke on him. Even if you gave us a hundred guts, we would not dare to do anything real to him!”
“Besides, this matter, I, I actually tried to persuade James early on! It was him who insisted on going his own way! He has not been eyeing Shao Chu for just one or two days!”
To save his life, the accomplice began to clear his relationship with everything, throwing all the blame onto James. He wanted to say more later, but was dragged away by the bodyguards with his mouth covered.
After hanging up the phone, Shao Tingyue’s dark eyes churned.
It was fortunate that it was only temporary. If he had been left with any lifelong sequelae, he would never have let them go.
Uncle Ming knocked on the door with the private doctor. “Second Young Master, Dr. Chen has arrived.”
Shao Tingyue steadied his breathing. “Come in.”
Dr. Chen carefully performed a comprehensive examination of Li Chu, put away his stethoscope, and said, “Young Master Chu’s vital signs are currently stable. No other injuries were found. Once the drug wears off, he will be fine after a good rest.”
“Are you sure?” Shao Tingyue pursued.
“Based on the current examination, yes.” Dr. Chen affirmed. “I will prescribe some auxiliary metabolic drugs. We will observe him tomorrow after he wakes up.”
Shao Tingyue said in a low voice, “Good.”
Uncle Ming sighed and personally sent the doctor away. Silence returned to the room.
Shao Tingyue coaxed Li Chu into taking his medicine and decided to stay in the bedroom to accompany him.
The moonlight was very bright tonight, casting mottled light and shadow in front of the bed through the gauze curtains. The teenager’s breathing was very shallow, his eyelashes blinking, like two little fans.
Shao Tingyue carried him to bed. Knowing he could not understand, he still could not help but lecture him. “You are not allowed to run around in the future, you are not allowed to attend these kinds of messy parties, and you are not allowed to interact with Shao Mingzhu again, even if her surname is Shao.”
He had always had no intention of interfering in the affairs of the second branch of the Shao family. It was enough that Shao Qixin could not discipline Shao Mingzhu, but she had to come and provoke Li Chu. If it were not for her, Li Chu would not have had any intersection with that piece of trash from the Chen family, let alone fallen into this predicament. Even though she was not the main culprit of this incident, he could not help but vent his anger on her.
Li Chu rubbed against his jaw, his expression blank.
Shao Tingyue pinched his cheek with his fingers, forcing him to look at himself. “Be obedient.”
“Obedient.” The teenager blinked his eyes, his lips slightly parted, a faint, ethereal sweet fragrance seeping through, causing an inexplicable surge of blood heat.
The bedroom was very quiet, with only the two of them in the space. At this moment, Shao Tingyue possessed absolute control.
Li Chu’s current state meant that he could do anything to him, and when he woke up the next day, everything would be forgotten, as if it had never happened. This thought made Shao Tingyue’s eyes deepen for a moment, taking root and beginning to spread wildly.
Shao Tingyue calmed down for a moment, lowered his head, and deeply inhaled the fragrance in Li Chu’s hair.
The string of reason stretched to the extreme, letting out an unbearable buzz under the burning desire. Every inch of flesh and blood in his body was agitated.
Shao Tingyue closed his eyes, his arms gathering, enveloping him with his own body temperature and scent.
“Chu Zai, hold me.”
Li Chu stretched out his arms, passed through his waist, and obediently wrapped around him, burying his face closer. At this moment, they were like the most intimate couple.
Shao Tingyue’s breathing became heavy, his lips stopping above Li Chu’s forehead, then extending a little further down.
It was his dainty, straight nose, on which there was a very faint, small brown mole, vivid and cute. When helping Li Chu put on clothes, he also saw one on the inside of his thigh, although it was red.
The agitation in his heart could no longer be calmed, and Shao Tingyue wrapped the person even tighter into his arms.
“Chu Zai, kiss me.”
Li Chu lifted his eyelashes, his pupils filled with little broken stars, and soft lips pressed against his. It was a kiss without any lust, yet it made Shao Tingyue’s breathing heavy, his Adam’s apple rolling violently for a moment.
The boy’s lips were very soft, and when he pressed them over, the first thing he could feel was the bouncy lip bead, the taste very sweet.
The man lowered his eyes, his voice very low. “Chu Zai, this is not enough.”
Li Chu paused for a moment, then tilted his head and gently bit his lip. Having zero love experience, he had no kissing skills, and accidentally bit the corner of the man’s mouth.
Tasting the smell of blood, Li Chu stopped and licked his own lips with the tip of his tongue.
The next second, the string that had been hanging on Shao Tingyue’s heart completely snapped, and all restraint collapsed. His palm clasped the back of his head, and like a guest becoming the host, he heavily engulfed the teenager’s lips.
The force was somewhat great, and Li Chu frowned, emitting a very light whimper.
Shao Tingyue turned a deaf ear, then his powerful tongue reached in, prying open his teeth, driving straight in, and entangling deeply in his wet, soft oral cavity. The taste was sweeter, more intoxicating, and more out of control than he had imagined.
In Li Chu’s chaotic consciousness, some instinctive resistance emerged, his hands pressed against Shao Tingyue’s chest, struggling slightly. He felt that he was almost unable to breathe.
The hand Shao Tingyue clasped behind his head grew harder, the kiss deeper and heavier, as if he wanted to snatch every bit of air from his lungs, fiercely tearing him apart and swallowing him whole.
I do not know how long it lasted, but the long kiss finally ended.
Shao Tingyue retreated slightly, his forehead pressing against Li Chu’s forehead, desire still surging deep in his black eyes. Both of their breathing was a mess, intertwined in a burning, close-range proximity.
“Baby, you are so good.”
Shao Tingyue held him and suffered from insomnia all night. To be precise, he was reluctant to sleep. The teenager in his arms was so soft, so wonderful. However, dawn was about to break.
Shao Tingyue went to the small Buddhist hall. The scent of sandalwood lingered here year-round, and the light passed through the high windows, landing on the gilded statue of the merciful Goddess Mazu. He stood still in front of the kneeling mat, silent for a moment, then picked up the pair of moist wooden holy cups on the incense table and held them together in his palms.
His dark eyes lowered, reciting his prayer in his heart, then he slowly released his hands.
Clatter.
The holy cups landed; both sides were face down—it was a “crying cup.” Mazu rejected his prayer.
Shao Tingyue’s brow did not move, his eyes deepening by a fraction, and he silently picked up the holy cups and threw them again.
Clatter. Another crying cup.
“…”
Shao Tingyue’s brow twitched, but he was not willing to give up just like that. He said sincerely to Mazu’s statue, “Goddess Mazu, please judge. For thirty years, I have never asked for anything from you. In business, profit and loss are self-accounted, and the rise and fall of the family depend on ability. I have never dared to have the slightest extravagant hope for external things.”
He paused, his Adam’s apple rolling. “Just this once, just for one person, I beg you to fulfill this.”
As his words ended, the holy cups fell from his hands once more.
Clatter.
This time, both wooden cups were flat-side up—it was a “laughing cup.” Mazu was non-committal, ambiguous.
Shao Tingyue pressed his lips down, his expression cold. His face could not hold it anymore.
“When my father was seriously ill, you did not have pity. When something happened to my eldest brother, you did not shelter us. I did not come today to seek your opinion. Whether you agree or disagree, you cannot stop my decision.”
After he finished, he threw the holy cups for the last time.
Clack.
