After Secretly Marrying the Top Celebrity, I Fell in Love - Chapter 34
The snow-white sheets were in disarray, and a lingering scent of cool-citrus perfume hung in the air.
A beautiful, fair-skinned woman lay prone on the large bed, sound asleep. Her long eyelashes were gently lowered, and her breathing was even and slow.
The thin silk blanket had slid down to the woman’s waist, leaving her sexy bare back completely exposed. A head of sea-algae-like, big curly hair was spread over her back, vaguely obscuring a pair of beautiful butterfly bones poised as if to take flight.
The phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.
Fu Yu stretched out an arm, fumbled around, and finally managed to reach the incessantly ringing phone. Half-closing her eyes, she pressed the answer button.
The phone rang for a full thirty seconds in the quiet bedroom before it was finally answered.
“Hello.” Fu Yu’s voice was a little husky, low, and quite textured.
“My little ancestor, you’re starting on set tomorrow, don’t you forget.” The familiar voice of her manager, Cao Qin, came through the phone.
“I know.” Fu Yu flipped over with the phone, reaching up to pull the quilt higher to cover the unobstructed sight of her chest.
“What time is it? You’re still sleeping.” Cao Qin heard the sleep in Fu Yu’s voice and glanced down at the lady’s watch on her wrist.
It was almost eleven o’clock; this little ancestor definitely hadn’t eaten breakfast again.
“I accidentally stayed up late last night.” Fu Yu bit her lower lip, telling a lie without changing her expression.
Actually, it wasn’t entirely a lie; Fu Yu had indeed stayed up late last night, staying up late for several rounds of bedroom exercise.
“Ancestor, you have costume fittings the day after tomorrow!” The person on the other end suddenly raised her voice, and without waiting for Fu Yu to respond, began speaking in a torrent.
“Do you know how beautiful the female supporting lead for this role is? How can you still treat yourself like this…”
“I know, I know, Xiao Bai is very pretty.” Fu Yu couldn’t help but interrupt her manager, letting out a soft “Hmph.” “Am I not beautiful? How can you ‘boost others’ morale while diminishing your own prestige.’ I am the synonym for ‘glamour’ in the domestic entertainment industry, alright.”
Fu Yu wasn’t bragging; she was indeed famous in the entertainment industry for her captivating beauty, a beauty with an aggressive edge. However, she still couldn’t compare to Ye Manqing’s face, a face that didn’t seem to belong to human creation.
In terms of beauty, Ye Manqing ranked first in the domestic entertainment industry, and she, Fu Yu, definitely ranked second.
“Xiao Bai? Are you two very close?” Cao Qin’s voice on the phone suddenly changed its inflection.
“Not very close yet,” Fu Yu said, sitting up wrapped in the quilt with her back against the headboard.
While the two were on the phone, the sound of approaching footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the bedroom door. Following the sound, Fu Yu took the phone away from her ear and covered the receiver with one hand.
Sure enough, it was Lin Yu.
Lin Yu was wearing a low-key apricot-colored designer shirt today, with a ruby cufflink on each sleeve. Paired with black high-waisted trousers, the straight-cut and high-waist design made her long legs appear even straighter and more slender.
The woman had chocolate-colored, shoulder-length hair that was smooth and shone with a healthy luster.
Lin Yu stood tall at the bedroom door, holding a rectangular tray. On the tray sat a cup of hot milk and a sandwich.
This was the breakfast she had made for Fu Yu.
Usually, Fu Yu woke up earlier than she did and made breakfast. It was a rare chance for her to get up early, so she thought of cooking herself.
On the big bed, Fu Yu lifted an eyelid and her gaze met Lin Yu’s. She immediately pointed a finger at the phone, which was still on the call, and then placed her right index finger vertically against her lips, making a clear “keep quiet” gesture at Lin Yu.
Lin Yu nodded understandingly, carefully carrying the tray into the bedroom and walking straight towards the large bed. Reaching the bedside, Lin Yu gently placed the tray on the bedside table.
Next to her, Fu Yu was still on the phone with someone. It was clear she wanted to hang up, but the person on the other end still seemed to have something to say.
Lin Yu quietly sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes involuntarily falling on the kiss marks scattered across Fu Yu’s collarbone.
“Ouch, my stomach suddenly hurts a bit.” Fu Yu abruptly frowned, her voice trembling slightly.
This trembling sound immediately caught Lin Yu’s attention, and a look of concern was cast over.
“Mmm… I’m fine.” Fu Yu let out a soft groan of pain, and continued speaking into the phone, “I’m going to get up quickly and eat breakfast, and then take my stomach medicine.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a hand suddenly reached out, found the location of Fu Yu’s stomach below her chest, and began to rub it gently, with a tender and practiced touch.
“…!” Fu Yu was slightly stunned, and she turned her head to look, seeing only the top of Lin Yu’s head.
Fu Yu immediately snapped back to reality and continued to pretend to have a stomach ache to deal with her manager, her voice weak as she said, “I’ll listen, I won’t stay up late anymore.”
“Sister Cao, bye-bye.”
With that, Fu Yu decisively tapped the phone screen with her fingertip, hanging up first.
“Phew~” Fu Yu leaned back, her back resting against the soft, comfortable fabric headboard, letting out a big breath.
The hand that had been rubbing her stomach suddenly stopped. Lin Yu slowly raised her eyes, looking over with a rather resentful gaze.
“Pretending?” Lin Yu frowned, speaking flatly.
“President Lin~” Fu Yu, sensing trouble, drew out the end of her voice in a spoiled tone.
“This isn’t ‘pretending,’ it’s ‘acting.’ You know I’m an actress, so it’s essential to hone my skills from time to time. You have no idea how long-winded Mother Cao is; she’s like the Monk Tang from Journey to the West.”
Lin Yu looked at Fu Yu with the expression of a stranger, her lips moving twice: “Acting.”
“Honing your skills from time to time.”
“Huh?” Fu Yu looked confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Lin Yu tried hard to force a smile, a sudden feeling of emptiness in her heart.
“You look a little strange today.” Fu Yu slowly leaned closer, her eyes slightly lowered. Tilting her head slightly, she pressed a kiss onto Lin Yu’s lips.
Fu Yu’s red lips parted slightly, rubbing against Lin Yu’s closed lips inch by inch, but the other woman wouldn’t respond.
“…” Fu Yu paused her movement, looking at Lin Yu suspiciously.
“I made you breakfast. Go wash up first,” Lin Yu said, subtly withdrawing from the kiss, smiling at the person in front of her.
“Lest your stomach really starts to hurt later.”
“Sandwich?” Fu Yu glanced at the sandwich on the plate and asked casually.
Lin Yu “Mhm’d.”
“This… I can’t eat this,” Fu Yu said, looking a little embarrassed.
“Haven’t you already lost fifteen pounds?” Lin Yu asked, confused.
“I have!” Fu Yu wanted to cry. “So I have to keep it up, and continue with the diet meal.”
“I’ll go make another one,” Lin Yu said, getting up and bending down to pick up the tray on the bedside table.
“No! It would be a waste.” Fu Yu quickly reached out and grabbed Lin Yu’s wrist, stopping her. “I’ll take a bite.”
Lin Yu hesitated, her gaze naturally falling on Fu Yu’s wrist. The red marks on the wrist had long since disappeared, but they still reminded Lin Yu of the stimulating scene from last night.
Under the dim amber light, Fu Yu lay on the edge of the bed, her left wrist grabbed by Lin Yu, lifted over her head, and pressed onto the sheets.
Suddenly, Fu Yu’s body trembled violently, and a tempting soft moan escaped her throat.
“…!” Lin Yu’s breathing quickened, and a dazzling burst of fireworks exploded in her mind. Blood rushed instantly, straight to her head.
Her fingers were tightly wrapped in a sticky wet heat, and the pace of her hand movements grew faster and faster. Until, finally, she was showered in a sweet honey-like fluid, soaking her entire right hand.
…
“Lin Yu, what’s wrong?” Fu Yu shook her hand toward the distracted Lin Yu and asked.
“Nothing,” Lin Yu replied calmly, snapping out of her daze.
With that, Lin Yu placed the tray back onto the bedside table, turned, and left the bedroom.
About a quarter of an hour later, the tidy Fu Yu came downstairs and walked straight toward the kitchen. Sure enough, Lin Yu was in the kitchen making a salad.
Outside the window, the sun was shining brightly, the sky was azure, and the white clouds were clean and distant.
The female CEO in her business suit wore a cute cat-patterned apron around her waist, instantly maximizing her soft and adorable contrast.
At the kitchen doorway, Fu Yu tilted her head, admiring Lin Yu’s domestic side, the corners of her mouth unconsciously curving into a beautiful arc.
“Miss Lin is truly virtuous!” Fu Yu smiled, the words of praise pouring out.
“I wonder which lucky person will get to marry the beautiful and virtuous Miss Lin in the future.”
Lin Yu naturally heard her, and the action of cutting the boiled egg in her hand paused. Two seconds later, she continued to silently slice the boiled egg.
“Miss Fu, when are you leaving tomorrow?” Lin Yu turned sideways to meet Fu Yu’s charming, slender eyes.
“Afternoon flight, with Xiao Bai,” Fu Yu answered truthfully, the smile on her lips deepening.
“Do you need me to take you?” Lin Yu asked.
“No need!” Fu Yu was momentarily stunned, refusing very decisively.
“Alright.” Lin Yu’s mouth curved slightly, masking her inner disappointment with a smile, and then she turned back around.
“You go to the dining room first; the salad will be ready soon.”
Behind her, the sound of footsteps gradually faded until they completely disappeared.
In the kitchen, Lin Yu’s face was cold and solemn as she sliced a bright red cherry tomato, deep in thought.
“Hiss!” A sharp pain stung her index finger holding the cherry tomato. Lin Yu suddenly frowned, her thoughts pulled back to reality.
Lin Yu lowered her long eyelashes, quietly looking at her left index finger, which had been cut by the knife’s edge. The cut was deep, the flesh was exposed, and bright red blood kept welling up.
Putting down the knife, Lin Yu pulled out several paper towels to try and stop the bleeding, but it was to no avail. Within a few seconds, the fresh blood had soaked through the paper towels.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded from outside the kitchen.
Following the sound, Lin Yu looked up, her gaze meeting the eyes of the person who had arrived.
“What happened to your hand?” Anxiety showed in Fu Yu’s eyes, and she asked nervously, “Were you cut by the knife?”
“Let’s go! Quickly, I’m taking you to the hospital.”
“No need, a bandage will do.” Lin Yu refused.
“No!” Fu Yu’s attitude was firm, and her voice suddenly rose significantly. “We must go to the hospital!”
Lin Yu stopped talking, gazing quietly into Fu Yu’s eyes, trying to discern whether the tension in her eyes at this moment was genuine emotion or if she was honing her acting skills again.
“Okay.” Lin Yu’s lips moved, spitting out one word.
Fu Yu breathed a sigh of relief and said, “I’ll go upstairs and get the car keys. Wait for me for a moment.”
“Oh, right! We still need to put a bandage on first.”
Lin Yu: “Okay, I’ll go look for one now.”
Watching Fu Yu’s hurried retreating figure, Lin Yu did not immediately go to look for a bandage.
Her left hand hung naturally by her side, the blood still profusely flowing from her fingertip, dripping onto the floor with a “pat-a-pat” sound.
