After Secretly Marrying the Top Celebrity, I Fell in Love - Chapter 17
Ye Manqing’s invitation, like a stone dropping perfectly into the calm lake in Bo Yiyan’s heart, stirred a ripple.
Bo Yiyan’s heart swayed slightly.
She should have refused, but when Bo Yiyan looked into Ye Manqing’s mesmerizing, arctic fox-like eyes, she was moved by the sincerity and tenderness she saw there.
As if possessed, Bo Yiyan nodded and uttered a single word.
“Okay.”
“…” Ye Manqing was slightly stunned, not expecting Bo Yiyan to agree so readily.
“It’s getting late, so let’s turn in early,” the woman said softly, the smile returning to her lips. “Do you want to shower now?”
Bo Yiyan glanced at the white bathrobe Ye Manqing was wearing, then down at her own dress, before quietly saying, “Mm.”
Bo Yiyan followed behind Ye Manqing, the two of them leaving the restaurant one after the other.
Ye Manqing led Bo Yiyan to the bathroom in the master bedroom and turned to retrieve a bathrobe, a pair of disposable underwear, and a set of nipple pasties for Bo Yiyan.
“There’s a bath towel in the cupboard,” Ye Manqing said, pointing toward the cabinet behind Bo Yiyan. “The toothbrush and face towel are in the drawer under the vanity.”
“As for skincare and face wash, you can use mine for now.”
Bo Yiyan nodded lightly: “Okay.”
Ye Manqing: “Then you go ahead and wash up, I have a little something to take care of.”
Bo Yiyan: “Okay.”
Bo Yiyan stood holding a stack of clothes, tilting her head slightly as she watched Ye Manqing’s receding back.
It’s this late, what else does she have to take care of?
In reality, the matter Ye Manqing had to handle was related to the “prenuptial agreement” Bo Yiyan had just brought up.
Ye Manqing first sent a WeChat message to Lawyer Qin, asking if she was resting.
On the other side of the city, in a towering, brightly lit skyscraper.
Countless seemingly glamorous white-collar workers were toiling away late, and Lawyer Qin was one of them. Having finally dealt with the emergency case at hand, Lawyer Qin at last had a moment to take a sip of water. Suddenly, her phone on the desk vibrated—a WeChat notification.
After reading Ye Manqing’s message, Lawyer Qin immediately called her back.
Top floor of the five-star hotel, presidential suite.
Ye Manqing, dressed in a white sleep robe, stood on the moonlight-dappled silk carpet, one hand gently supporting her elbow, the other holding her phone to her ear.
“Lawyer Qin, please draft a prenuptial agreement for me as soon as possible. The content of the agreement…”
On the floor-to-ceiling window, the woman’s graceful, tall figure was reflected, her soft, ink-like black hair cascading over her shoulders.
“Also, I have another question I’d like to consult you about.” After explaining the content of the agreement to the person on the other end of the phone, Ye Manqing’s tone suddenly shifted.
“In short, what method can I use to ensure that my assets are still associated with Xiao Bo, even after she signs a prenuptial agreement with me?”
At her office desk, Lawyer Qin was listening carefully to her client’s statement through her headset while her hands rapidly typed on her laptop, recording important text content needed for drafting the agreement.
It was expected that a big star with assets over a hundred million like Ye Manqing would draw up a prenuptial agreement before marriage; this was anticipated by Lawyer Qin. The agreement content was also much like what she had imagined: primarily focusing on a strict division of property to reasonably prevent the other party from taking a share of the assets in case of divorce. It could even ensure the other party left with nothing.
However, what Lawyer Qin hadn’t expected was that this prenuptial agreement wasn’t requested by Ye Manqing herself. So, when Lawyer Qin heard Ye Manqing’s other question, her mind went blank for a moment, finding it hard to process.
After a few seconds of (being stunned), Lawyer Qin put aside her subjective judgment. She thought for a moment and then replied into the phone.
“That’s simple. You can use the form of a gift or… draw up a will.”
“Gift or draw up a will?” Ye Manqing’s expression slightly froze as she quietly repeated Lawyer Qin’s words.
…
In the bathroom, the frosted glass was covered with crystal-clear water droplets, which dripped down like pearls.
Bo Yiyan’s neck rested against the edge of the jacuzzi, her beautiful butterfly bones nestled in her cool, pale skin, poised as if to spread their wings.
She lowered her gaze, her wet fingers pinching a rose petal floating on the water’s surface. Her two long, damp eyelashes were half-closed as she stared blankly at the rose petal in her hand.
She just agreed to stay?
Bo Yiyan thought she must have been drunk and not thinking clearly, which was why she had agreed to stay so vaguely. But her tolerance for alcohol was excellent; this small amount of wine couldn’t possibly make her drunk.
What should she do later? Sleep in the same bed? Will Ye Manqing…
The more Bo Yiyan thought about it, the faster her heart pounded, and her face felt hot and flushed, a touch of crimson quietly rising on both cheeks.
But then she thought, she was about to marry Ye Manqing. Even if nothing happened now, it was impossible for nothing to happen after they got married.
What has to come will come.
After building up a series of mental preparations, Bo Yiyan finished her bath and put on the bathrobe. The belt of the robe was tied neatly, and the slightly open neckline was deliberately pulled together, covering her securely.
Her freshly washed long hair exuded a faint scent of bluebells, the tips of her hair slightly curled, her dark strands cascading over her entire back.
Gathering her courage, Bo Yiyan walked straight towards the double bed in the bedroom, approaching Ye Manqing with a feigned composure.
On the soft white bed, Ye Manqing was leaning against the headboard, her soft, glossy black hair spread across her chest.
The light from above poured down. Amber-colored light washed over Ye Manqing’s profile and long hair, subtly tracing the lines of the woman’s face, extending along her smoothly contoured jawline all the way to her full bosom.
Hearing the footsteps and then their halt in front of her, Ye Manqing finally put her phone away, stopping her browsing of Weibo.
Ye Manqing looked up at Bo Yiyan standing before her and said gently, “Xiao Bo, come to bed.”
“Mm.” Bo Yiyan nodded, her face flushed.
Ye Manqing shifted inwards, making space on one side of the bed. Then, she stretched out her arm and placed her phone on the bedside table.
Bo Yiyan lightly bit her lower lip, bent down, lifted the covers, and got into bed.
She lay down.
Bo Yiyan lay flat on the large bed, nervously swallowing. She gently closed her eyes, forcing herself to fall asleep quickly.
But sleep is such a thing—the more you try to fall asleep quickly, the harder it is to sleep.
Time passed moment by moment, and after an unknown period, Ye Manqing’s voice suddenly broke the silence of the bedroom, lightly calling Bo Yiyan’s name.
“Xiao Bo.”
“…!” Bo Yiyan instantly opened her eyes and subconsciously turned her head, meeting Ye Manqing’s light brown pupils.
Ye Manqing was lying on her side on the large bed, her soft long hair resting on the pillow, with a halo of amber light falling from above, making the woman’s face and neck appear even paler against her dark hair.
Ye Manqing was facing Bo Yiyan, supporting her head with one hand, her deep, arctic fox eyes filled with tenderness.
“May I ask you for something?” Ye Manqing’s voice was as gentle as water.
“What?” Bo Yiyan was deeply drawn in by the other’s eyes, feeling a strange sense of dizziness.
“A goodnight kiss,” Ye Manqing said, her thin lips moving a few times.
“…!” Bo Yiyan’s thick eyelashes trembled slightly, and her body instantly stiffened.
After a moment of hesitation, Bo Yiyan gently closed her eyes in agreement. Her heart hammered wildly in her chest, and her face felt hot.
Ye Manqing’s breath drew closer little by little, accompanied by a cool, dark oud fragrance. Her warm breath lightly landed on Bo Yiyan’s neck.
It paused for a few seconds, then moved up slowly.
“…” Bo Yiyan’s body was tense, and her breathing became rapid. She tightly gripped the quilt, the soft, skin-friendly fabric wrinkling in her hands.
Ye Manqing supported herself on either side of Bo Yiyan’s shoulders, her eyes gently lowered, seeing Bo Yiyan’s nervousness and unease.
The woman’s flowing dark hair cascaded down, her gaze long fixed on Bo Yiyan’s lips.
Bo Yiyan’s lips were beautiful and tempting, like rose petals dusted with morning dew. But in the end, Ye Manqing held back, suppressing the urge to kiss Bo Yiyan’s lips.
With her eyes closed, Bo Yiyan suddenly felt a cool dampness on her forehead. Her rigid body instantly relaxed, and the hands gripping the quilt slowly loosened.
“Goodnight.” The woman’s soft lips lingered on Bo Yiyan’s forehead for a few seconds before pulling away.
The fragrance lingering near her nose gradually became thinner, until it finally faded away.
After a long time, Bo Yiyan slowly opened her eyes, the amber glow reflecting in her semi-transparent brown pupils. She adjusted her breathing and turned her head to look at Ye Manqing, who was now turned away from her.
“Goodnight, Teacher Ye.”
Ye Manqing was lying on her side on the large bed, and a smile curved her lips when she heard Bo Yiyan’s “Goodnight.”
