Three years ago, Wei Changli was the dignified young master of a top-tier wealthy family. He spent immense effort to finally pursue and win over the untouchable “beauty genius” of the aristocratic world, Yan Xu. Just when Wei Changli thought their affection was at its peak, he was met with a “cliff-style” (sudden and total) breakup by Yan Xu.

Three years later, Wei Changli has become an outcast of his family. On a rainy night after being set up by enemies, he reunites with him. Wei Changli has been drugged; his body is burning as he curls up in an alleyway. Suddenly, the rain falling on him stops. Looking up, it is Yan Xu, whom he hasn’t seen in three years, holding an umbrella for him. Yan Xu reaches out to check the injury on his forehead, only to be violently brushed away by Wei Changli. Yet, he is still forcibly carried into the car by the man, and the two share a night of “absurdity” (passion).

After the long-awaited reunion, Wei Changli does not wish to have any more entanglements with the other party. However, Yan Xu that “Flower on a High Mountain” (aloof and cold)—has changed his usual ways and is constantly attempting to… seduce him.

Once, when Wei Changli and Yan Xu were eating at the same table, the man—who previously never touched alcohol, stopped him. He tilted his head back and drained the wine in the glass, using the very glass Wei Changli had just used. Whether intentional or accidental, Yan Xu’s fingertip wiped away the bright wine hanging from his lip, his vivid “lip pearl” (the center peak of the lip) lightly brushing the spot on the rim where Wei Changli’s mouth had just been. His lip color was shimmering, looking as if he were soliciting a kiss.

When riding in a car together, Wei Changli felt Yan Xu’s gaze staring at him heavier and heavier. Unable to bear it, he turned his head and dropped a harsh threat: “Look again and I’ll gouge your eyes out.” Instead, Yan Xu suddenly leaned in close, grabbing Wei Changli’s hand and pressing it against his own eyes. A breath of “neither-close-nor-far” (teasing) entangled him, his voice sounding like a sacrificial offering both crazed and tender. He asked him: Do you want them? If you want them, I’ll give them to you.

Later, Wei Changli caught a fever on a snowy night, his consciousness blurred and fragmented. With a hazy gaze, he suddenly pinned Yan Xu to the bed from a position of power. His warm breath drew near, as if he wanted to kiss him. Yan Xu reached out and pressed against his shoulder. “Not letting me kiss you?” Wei Changli toyed with a strand of his hair between his fingertips, sniffing the scent of the long hair. Lowering his voice to the absolute minimum, he asked through gritted teeth: “If you won’t let me kiss you… why do you keep tempting me?”
