- Chapter 26 - Master is Humiliated and Attempts to End His Own Life
Absurd. It was utterly absurd.
He would never speak nonsense again. This dog of a villain actually used his mouth to neutralize the poison. Was the great villain trying to crush him to death with his body weight?
Lin Sui was so furious that he opened his mouth and bit down hard on the lips that were trying to probe further. He used significant force, his teeth sinking into the flesh until his mouth was filled with the metallic taste of blood. Yet, the great villain showed no intention of letting go.
He had forgotten that the dog villain felt no pain. He immediately released his grip and clenched his jaw shut before the other could intrude again. However, his waist felt soft and aching; he could not help but gasp, losing his hold.
The two tore at each other, neither willing to back down. One was fueled by a peak of rage, wanting only to repel the other. The other had tasted sweetness, and his internal fire surged even higher, wanting only to go deeper.
Lin Sui’s head began to spin with dizziness. He repeatedly tried to push the other away with his tongue, but his efforts were in vain. Tears flowed incessantly, large droplets sliding into his ears. His chest heaved violently, and the spiritual power within his body ran wild. Once the villain released his hands, he would definitely strike him with his sword. Then he would make him kneel properly; he would not let him get up for three days and three nights!
“Master, why are you so resistant to me? Did you not entice me in the illusion? I am being so proactive today; should you not be happy?”
Xiao Qingyan finally released his mouth, but the words he spoke nearly caused Lin Sui to faint from anger. He was either being framed or on the way to being framed. He opened his mouth to argue, but the villain flipped him over. His entire face was pressed into the pillow, making his breathing labored.
“Xiao Qingyan! You are being insolent! Do you even know what you are doing?”
The sense of humiliation almost buried him. A short, low laugh came from above as Xiao Qingyan’s fingertips slid from the back of his neck all the way down to his tailbone. “Is this not exactly what Master wished for?”
“Let me go, and I will let this matter rest.” Lin Sui finally realized what the system meant when it said he had to help the villain neutralize the poison. But it was impossible! That event had happened once; it must never happen a second time.
“Yan’er, Yan’er, let your teacher go. Do you not want the antidote? I will give it to you.” Lin Sui was terrified that the villain would truly commit such an act of betraying his master. The shame from that day in the illusion still lingered. If the system had not forced him to do the missions, he would never have stayed by the villain’s side; he would have stayed as far away as possible.
“It seems Master is admitting that he was the one who administered the poison. Was Master’s goal not to use another method to torture me?”
Xiao Qingyan’s fingertips moved further down. The person lying on the bed stiffened repeatedly, speaking incoherently, “Yan’er, good disciple, do not, do not. I can give you anything you want, but not this.”
Xiao Qingyan’s palm slowly pressed against that piece of fine jade. The jade was not large; his palm could cover it completely. If he were cruel enough to use force, he could grab it with one hand. Clearly, the touch was cold, yet the wicked fire within him showed no sign of extinguishing. “But Master, right now, I only want you.”
With that said, he ignored the resistance of the person on the bed and forced his way in.
“Xiao Qingyan! You cannot do this to me! You cannot do this to me!”
The person on the bed resisted fiercely. The demonic whip binding his wrists had already cut deep into his fair skin, and bright red blood meandered down his arms. The more the owner of the hands struggled, the tighter the demonic whip coiled. Squalor, humiliation, pain, disgust; all sorts of emotions weighed on his heart. At this moment, he wished he could defy the system’s mission and let it electrocute him; even that would be better than this.
The silver bed curtains fell during his violent struggle, concealing everything on the bed tightly. Lin Sui was pained and desperate. He no longer had the strength to struggle. Broken and high pitched cries escaped his mouth, and he bit his lip hard, unwilling to hear such disgusting sounds.
The silver curtains were like ripples on water, undulating in layers. He bit his lip tight, yet his hoarse voice spilled out from his nose and throat. His consciousness was dragged into boiling lava, roasting him until he was scorched on both sides. He cried until no more tears could fall.
Finally, the silver curtains stopped moving. A hand with distinct knuckles reached out from the curtains, followed by the face of a youth. Xiao Qingyan looked at the person on the bed who had lost his usual expression. He leaned over to pick him up, and the limp person allowed himself to be handled. He was like a jade vessel that had lost its soul, leaving behind only a beautiful shell. The once vibrant and radiant eyes had lost their light, appearing like a pool of stagnant water.
Xiao Qingyan skillfully dressed Lin Sui and wiped away all traces of what had just occurred. Leaving only the hideous wound around his wrist, he pressed down on it. “Does Master not like it?”
Xiao Qingyan could actually sense that his Master did not like it, but the arrow was already on the string and had to be fired. Furthermore, since his Master had poisoned him, he should have anticipated the consequences.
Lin Sui’s eyes moved slightly. The pain on his wrist was nothing compared to the pain in his heart. “I hate you.” Lin Sui no longer wanted to maintain the persona of a good Master or uphold the original character’s setting. He spoke to Xiao Qingyan, enunciating every word, “I. Hate. You.”
Every word struck Xiao Qingyan’s heart heavily. He lowered his head, avoided the wound on Lin Sui’s wrist, and bit down hard. His mouth filled with the taste of blood as he left a mark of shame on the clean wrist.
Lin Sui thought about how he would have to be threatened by the system for those wretched missions in the future to help the villain stay on the right path, and he felt it was impossible. He did not want to continue; death was the only outcome anyway. If he failed the mission, he would die. If he stayed by the villain’s side and was not careful, he would be played to death by him. He would either die at the hands of the system or the villain. It would be cleaner to die by his own hand.
Thud.
Lin Sui was pinned down onto the bed. The person holding him had spiritual and demonic energy so turbulent that it smashed everything in the room to pieces. Xiao Qingyan spoke recklessly, his heart feeling as if it would leap out of his chest, and his breathing nearly stopped. He pressed his hands against Lin Sui’s shoulders, wanting nothing more than to crush the bones of the person before him.
“You dare to die! You dare to die! I do not permit you to die! I have not even had the chance to properly take my revenge! I do not permit you to die!”
Revenge? Was what just happened not considered revenge?
Lin Sui closed his eyes in despair, and when he opened them again, they were clear. He was only borrowing the original body. If he died, the original owner would never be able to return. He had been too impulsive just now; he should not have had such thoughts. It was not easy for him to be alive; how could he give up his life over a fictional character? It was just a book, after all; it could not be taken as reality.
After understanding this, he raised his hand and patted Xiao Qingyan’s back gently. His tone was soft, and his eyes brightened again, filled with infinite tenderness. “Yan’er was merely influenced by the medicine. I do not blame you.”
Xiao Qingyan simply could not accept it. His Master had actually tried to end his own life. Had he not left a trace of demonic energy inside his Master to stop it in time, he could not imagine what would have happened. His Master would have been a cold corpse by now.
