- Chapter 12 - Paranoid Villain (12) A Date?
The fragmented gaze in Lu Yinshen’s phoenix eyes, naturally brimming with affection, was now a chaotic blur. His vivid, watery eyes felt like a captivating whirlpool.
His lips parted and closed, yet no sound escaped. Only the glimpse of his moist tongue hidden within made him appear all the more alluring. Their eyes met in silence as an ambiguous atmosphere swirled between them.
Yan Yi’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. His gaze grew deep and obscure, and the emotions within were dark and surging. He was no gentleman, nor was he truly a simple, naive youth who understood nothing.
However, when his gaze fell upon those frail legs hidden beneath the oversized trousers, all his desire transformed into heartache. At the very least, he had to wait until Lu Yinshen could stand and walk a few steps before doing anything more.
Yan Yi rubbed his nose affectionately against Lu Yinshen’s one last time, then obediently reported everything that had happened at school that day.
“Uncle, I had two classes on securities today, and then that is about it. Nothing special happened.”
Yan Yi was a finance major. Theoretical knowledge was quite boring to him; he had not focused much during class, instead directing all his attention toward his Bluetooth earpiece. Yet, he spoke about the course material fluently, without a single stumble.
While what he said would be dull and dry to most, Lu Yinshen listened intently, the corners of his eyes flushed a deep red.
When Yan Yi finished, he curled his lips into a smile. He rubbed his fingertips, which were now stained with the faint scent of lychee, and said to Lu Yinshen, “There is a rehabilitation hospital. Would you be willing to go, Uncle?”
Even if Lu Yinshen was reluctant to mention his legs, they could not simply avoid the topic forever. Without rehabilitation and exercise, he would be confined to that wheelchair for the rest of his life.
As Yan Yi spoke, he was internally weighing his words to find a way that Lu Yinshen could accept more easily. He felt pained by Lu Yinshen’s inability to walk and understood his resistance. He could not bring himself to say anything harsh to this man; he could only offer soft persuasion.
“Okay.” The voice sounded quite crisp, without much reluctance.
Seeing him agree, Yan Yi’s eyes lit up. He looked at him in pleasant surprise, the corners of his mouth lifting uncontrollably. “Really? It is wonderful that you are willing to do physical therapy, Uncle! I will ask for leave right now, and we can go immediately.”
There was no time like the present. Since the man had agreed to rehab, there was no reason to delay. That way, his legs could recover sooner. With that, Yan Yi immediately took out his phone to request leave from his counselor.
Yan Yi’s counselor was named Lin Ya, a serious and responsible teacher. She did not approve the request immediately. Instead, she called Lu Yinshen because Yan Yi had listed him as his guardian.
Lin Ya: “Hello, I am Yan Yi’s counselor. My surname is Lin. Am I speaking with his guardian, Mr. Lu?”
Requesting leave on the very first day of the semester with a reason that was not particularly strong meant Lin Ya naturally had to call to clarify.
Lu Yinshen answered, his tone indifferent: “Yes. What is the matter?”
Lin Ya deliberated for a few seconds before speaking: “The boy is an adult, and I really should not interfere with his romantic life. However, is it really appropriate to skip school and request leave just to go on a date? After all, studies are still very important. Dates can happen on weekends; there is no need to”
Lu Yinshen’s eyelids lifted slightly, his gaze flickering over Yan Yi’s obedient features.
The reason for the leave was actually a “date”?
Waiting quietly for Lin Ya to finish, Lu Yinshen said, “The boy is grown up. There is nothing wrong with wanting to go on a date with his boyfriend. Do you not think so, Teacher Lin?”
Lin Ya was stunned: “Huh? Boyfriend?”
Realizing her words might have been slightly inappropriate, Lin Ya added: “A boyfriend is fine; it is just that at this stage, studying is more important. As Yan Yi’s guardian, Mr. Lu, you should understand this logic.”
Lu Yinshen’s long lashes drooped slightly, his tone showing little emotion: “He has his own ideas. I find it difficult to discipline him.”
After trying to persuade him earnestly for a long time and seeing that the guardian had no objections, Lin Ya found it hard to say more. She simply said, “Well then, Mr. Lu, I will approve the leave. Just please tell Yan Yi that this should not happen again.”
With a beep, the call ended.
Lu Yinshen looked at him, the curve of his lashes trembling beautifully. His red lips moved in a half-smile: “Requesting leave for a date? With your guardian, Uncle Lu, hmm?”
Yan Yi did not answer. He simply blinked at him, his eyes watery and his expression soft. It was not that he had intentionally chosen that reason; it was just that Lu Yinshen never liked others focusing too much on his legs, so he had opted for a “date” as an excuse.
Lu Yinshen beckoned with his finger. Yan Yi immediately leaned in, the distance between their faces closing rapidly until their breaths were audible to one another.
Yan Yi could smell it: the lingering scent of lychee.
Lu Yinshen’s elegantly shaped arms climbed to the back of Yan Yi’s neck. His hot, damp breath invaded Yan Yi’s ear as his voice turned low, ambiguous, and laced with a light chuckle: “Let us go on our date then, darling.”
He enunciated the word “darling” with lingering tenderness. To an outsider, they might truly seem like a deeply devoted couple.
Yan Yi flushed red and tightly hugged Lu Yinshen’s waist. As his breath brushed against Lu Yinshen’s cheek with a tingling sensation, he whispered shyly in an embarrassed tone:
“Little Uncle”
