- Chapter 1 - Sleeping with a Stranger on My Wedding Night
“So big!”
“Holy cow, this one is even bigger!”
Luo Huai felt them over and over, unable to put them down. His eyes shone with delight, and the corners of his mouth were curving upward so hard it was impossible to suppress.
In his entire life, he had never touched so much cash!
It was just past dusk, and the villa, which had been bustling all day, had fallen into a quiet hush.
Logically, this should be the time for a newlywed couple to enjoy their romantic wedding night. However, Luo Huai was the only one in the bridal chamber. He sat cross-legged with a mountain of red envelopes spread out before him.
He opened one, counted a stack, and smirked. By the time he reached the end, his cheeks were aching from smiling, but he still could not stop.
Luo Huai stacked the cash neatly to the side and started counting the gold.
Just then, a notification sound chimed, and his phone screen lit up. A message popped up from a contact saved as “Dumbass.”
Frowning, he picked up the phone and opened it.
[Jingxi twisted his ankle, so I am going to stay with him. Sleep by yourself tonight.]
Luo Huai stared at the text, his mouth twitching slightly.
The person who sent the message was his “husband,” Lin Yuhe. He was the only son of the Lin family in Bin City, an Alpha, and Luo Huai’s partner in their business marriage. He was supposed to be one of the protagonists of this night.
As for Jingxi, he was referring to Luo Jingxi. He was the adopted son of the Luo family, an Omega, and the little master who had been pampered before Luo Huai was found and brought home. Nowadays, he always obediently called him “Little Brother Huai.”
The two of them were old flames.
Old, established families in Bin City valued bloodline above all else. Since Luo Huai had been found, the genuine young master was naturally the one meant to fulfill the marriage alliance.
When Lin Yuhe had agreed to the marriage, he had delivered a harsh ultimatum: “Don’t think that just because you married me, I will touch you. The only person I love in my heart is Jingxi. Remember, this is just a business marriage.”
At the time, Luo Huai had tugged at the corner of his shirt, hung his head low, and replied in a soft voice, “I understand.” Inside, he was speechless.
Who the hell wants you to touch them, you narcissist…
Luo Huai held the phone, tilted his head, and sighed. It was hard to watch, but then he glanced at the money again and could not help but chuckle. He moved his gaze back to the screen, his fingers hovering over the keyboard, waiting.
One second, two seconds, three seconds.
He knew the other side could see the “other party is typing” indicator. He wanted Lin Yuhe to think he was hesitating, feeling sad, and struggling with whether or not to beg him to stay.
After waiting for a full ten seconds, he finally started typing.
[Okay, then take good care of him.]
Sent.
Luo Huai nodded with satisfaction.
The tone was soft and compliant, just like a well-behaved child—perfect for his current persona of a docile little Omega who had been wandering for twenty years before finally being found by a wealthy family.
He tossed the phone aside and continued counting his money. Not long after, the screen lit up again.
[…Okay.]
Luo Huai looked at the ellipsis, knowing that Lin Yuhe’s feelings were likely complicated right now, but what did that have to do with him? Luo Huai decisively flipped the phone over and ignored it.
It took more than an hour to finish counting the wedding gifts.
Nearly ten million in red envelopes and gold, all of which Lin Yuhe had said belonged to him. Added to the previous eighteen million eight hundred and eighty-eight thousand in betrothal gifts, tsk, tsk; so this is what it feels like to be rich.
Luo Huai lay back on the bed and let out a long breath, blinking his eyes.
The bridal chamber was huge. The crystal chandelier was lit, red “double happiness” symbols were pasted on the headboard, the sheets were made of deep red silk, and the air still held the faint scent of the wedding flowers from earlier in the day.
Ding!
His phone rang again. Luo Huai grabbed it and took a look; it was a message from Luo Jingxi.
Luo Huai raised an eyebrow and clicked it open.
It was a photo.
In the photo, Lin Yuhe was sitting on the edge of a bed, lowering his head to massage Luo Jingxi’s ankle. The lighting was warm, the atmosphere was intimate, and both of them looked very attractive in profile.
The caption read: [I am really sorry, Little Brother Huai. Brother Yuhe is taking care of me. You should go to sleep early. Happy wedding night!]
Heh, it is my first time seeing a “third party” kidnap someone else’s husband and still have the nerve to say “Happy wedding night.”
Luo Huai could not be bothered with this “green tea” little Omega. He yawned, but instead of going to sleep, he nimbly gathered all the gift money, changed into comfortable clothes, grabbed a black baseball cap on his way out, opened the door, and slipped into the night.
He was going to have a blast to celebrate his sudden fortune.
Two in the morning, the night grew even deeper.
The chain hotel was located right above the entertainment club.
Inside the suite, the lights were dim, and two sets of rapid, labored breathing were tangled together, unable to pull away.
“Waist.”
The scent of cold cedar pheromones was frigid and dominant, wrapped in the sweetness of acacia flowers, permeating the room until it almost condensed into a physical presence, occupying every corner.
The Alpha’s breathing was steady, though his voice was low and hoarse. With just that single, magnetic word, the person beneath him trembled.
“Huh?”
Luo Huai was confused. At this moment, the rising heat mixed with the effects of the alcohol made him feel incredibly hot and thirsty.
The man lowered his gaze.
Luo Huai was tilting his neck back, squinting through eyes misted with a layer of water, looking up at him. His eyes were shimmering like waves, yet one could still see a glimmer of innocence; it was beautiful, in a way that did not quite fit the licentious scene before him.
The man could not resist looking for a moment longer before averting his gaze, pursing his lips, and swallowing hard. He then signaled with an even huskier voice: “Waist. Lift it up.”
Hearing this, Luo Huai panted softly and obediently lifted his hips, only for his strength to fail him, causing him to fall back into the soft bedding.
“Cannot do it anymore. Spare me, handsome, I really have no strength left… Hmm…”
Before he could even finish his sentence, the man’s burning lips had already descended, roaming from his mouth and teeth all the way down to his neck, collarbone, and chest, followed by a new wave of possession.
Luo Huai became increasingly intoxicated by the thick pheromones. He could not muster any strength; all he could do was cling to the Alpha’s shoulders and let himself drift in the tide.
When the daylight became bright, Luo Huai woke up in a haze.
“Hiss.”
The feeling of a hangover was unpleasant, and coupled with the physical toll of his first time, it was twice as bad.
His head ached, dizzy to the point of nausea. His waist hurt, and his entire body felt sore and weak.
Luo Huai struggled to turn over, opening his eyes to observe his surroundings.
He discovered he was lying on a large hotel bed, the texture beneath him soft and delicate. The area was clean and bright with exquisite decor; it was clearly a place that was not cheap.
Luo Huai lay there, resigning himself to his fate as he tried hard to recall every detail from yesterday.
After he snuck out of the villa, he had searched for the most expensive entertainment club in Bin City, hailed a taxi, went in, and ordered a drink. And then, he had gone to the restroom feeling woozy. It seemed he bumped into a very fragrant embrace at the door, and after that, what happened?
Luo Huai blinked hard, feeling every subtle discomfort in his body once again.
Just then, a gust of morning breeze blew in, and sunlight slipped through the curtains, leading Luo Huai’s gaze to the side of the bed.
A man was standing by the bed, back to Luo Huai, putting on his clothes.
The man was tall, with body proportions that could be called perfect. He had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and legs that were absurdly long.
Luo Huai could not think of any more words to describe him, because this scene was truly bizarre.
He kept staring.
The light filtered through the man’s shirt, outlining the tight, lean lines of his waist. Luo Huai swallowed his saliva and suddenly felt hot.
Luo Huai looked away, staring back at the ceiling, his brows furrowed.
So he had run out on his wedding night and slept with a random Alpha?
But he only wanted to go to a bar to hang out for a while; he did not intend to have a hookup. Besides, if he had actually been slept with, would he really have zero memory of it?
It could not be that it was so compatible and so comfortable that he had gotten lost in the pleasure and forgotten the process, could it?
Luo Huai felt it was ridiculous. He had been single for twenty years; he had not even held an Alpha’s hand before. How could he have given his first time away so easily in such a hazy state?
Thinking of this, Luo Huai became convinced that the sexy hunk in front of him was just a dream.
“Strange, why would I have such a wet dream?”
Luo Huai muttered, laboriously propping up his upper body and directly raising his hand to slap the man’s backside.
“You should go now, handsome. I need to wake up and head back to keep counting my money.”
The Alpha stopped buttoning his shirt. He looked at Luo Huai from the corner of his eye with a deep gaze, his mouth twitching in a way that was almost imperceptible.
The next second, he stood frozen.
