After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 51
Time flew by.
With summer vacation approaching, the students’ minds were already wandering from their studies.
During PE class, the teacher barely had them do the basic warm-ups before letting them have free time.
Class Five also had PE that day. As soon as they were dismissed, Xia Yi rushed over.
“Sister Sui, let’s have a battle!”
Lin Sui raised an eyebrow. “No thanks.”
“Why not?!” Xia Yi seemed particularly energetic and spirited today. “Let me beat you and make a name for myself.”
“Did you eat something weird today?” Lin Sui stared at her, exasperated, then sat down on the steps.
Wen Xiangzhu stood nearby, quietly watching them, her eyes holding an unreadable glint.
“Why aren’t you going over?” Ye Shuqian asked, having appeared beside her at some point.
“Um… I don’t think I’d fit in,” Wen Xiangzhu murmured, lowering her gaze.
“Hmm? Why do you think that?” Ye Shuqian’s brow furrowed slightly.
Wen Xiangzhu glanced at her and sighed softly.
“I just feel… Sister Sui still doesn’t really like me.”
After a moment of silence, a shout rang out from the center of the field where a few students were still playing soccer:
“Hey! Student over there, can you help us retrieve the ball?”
Wen Xiangzhu glanced at the ball a few steps away. After a pause, she walked over.
As she crouched down to pick it up, another ball suddenly struck her head from out of nowhere.
“Wenwen!”
Startled, Ye Shuqian rushed over. “Are you okay?”
“It hurts…”
Wen Xiangzhu felt dizzy, a sharp pain where the ball had hit her. Her body felt weak, and she collapsed onto the ground.
The ball had been kicked with considerable force.
Several students on the field witnessed the incident, but none moved forward. They stood frozen, unsure of what to do.
“Who kicked that ball?! Didn’t you see you hit someone?!” Ye Shuqian roared, her face flushed with anger.
The students who had called for help earlier scratched their heads and walked over to retrieve the ball that had rolled nearby.
“Um… we just asked for help picking up the ball. We didn’t throw it! It was those guys from Class 3!”
With that, they fled.
Noticing the commotion, several classmates from their own class gathered around.
Lu Xiaomeng crouched down, holding Wen Xiangzhu’s hand, her face etched with worry. She scolded, “Who was that?! Can’t they see where they’re throwing? What if they’d caused serious injury?!”
After a long pause, two students from Class 3 finally approached slowly.
“Um… are you okay?”
Wen Xiangzhu kept her head down, remaining silent.
The surrounding classmates began to berate them one after another.
“No apology?”
“What kind of attitude is that? Took you long enough to show up—guilty conscience?”
“…”
Finally, one of them snapped.
“What’s with all the whispering? What’s wrong with my attitude? It was just a little bump—what harm could that do?”
His companion chimed in, “Exactly! Stop exaggerating.”
“It’s just a minor bruise—no cut, nothing serious. Is it really that big of a deal?”
“I’m on the soccer team. What do you expect?”
The crowd bristled with anger.
The football team members, acting in unison, all crowded around at once, refusing to listen to reason. The crowd, though in the right, couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
“This is outrageous!” Ye Shuqian’s face tightened as she glanced down at Wen Xiangzhu’s condition. “Wenwen, let’s get you to the infirmary first.”
“Mm…” Wen Xiangzhu’s forehead was damp with fine sweat, her small face paler than usual.
Ye Shuqian nodded and helped her up with Lu Xiaomeng’s assistance.
Lin Sui, who had been chatting with Xia Yi from a distance, finally noticed the commotion and sensed something was wrong.
“What’s going on here?”
Hearing this, Xia Yi raised an eyebrow and looked over, then shook her head. “I don’t know. Let’s go check it out.”
As they approached the crowd, they saw Wen Xiangzhu being helped up and looking pale.
Lin Sui’s expression hardened, her voice turning frosty. “What’s going on here?”
“It’s them!” Ye Shuqian, now bolstered by Lin Sui’s presence, pointed angrily at the football team members. “They kicked the ball and hit Wenwen. They won’t apologize and act like they’re in the right! Just because they’re on the football team, they think they’re so special!”
“Hey, you…”
One of the footballers tried to retort, but his teammate quickly restrained him. “Don’t say another word.”
“What’s the problem? Why can’t I say it? I dare you to say our football team isn’t better than you bookworms. What’s your problem?” The guy, with his hair tied back in a ponytail, lifted his chin defiantly.
“Is that so?” Lin Sui looked at him coldly, a smirk playing on her lips. “You look unfamiliar. Are you a new member of the team?”
For a moment, no one dared to speak. Then the ponytail guy snapped, “Yeah, I’m new. So what?”
“Then you shouldn’t know me.”
Lin Sui’s expression remained impassive, but the corners of her lips curled slightly. “But that doesn’t matter. You’ll know me by the end of today.”
“W-what do you mean?” The ponytail guy froze, then seemed to realize something. “Who do you think you are? Not knowing you is perfectly normal!”
“Stop talking!” Someone beside him tugged urgently, hissing in a low voice.
“Why can’t I talk? We’ve got numbers on our side! We’re not afraid of her alone, are we?!” the ponytail guy protested, clearly confused.
The football team fell silent.
We are afraid of her alone, because she can take on all of us by herself!
“Sister…” Wen Xiangzhu recovered slightly, squinting at Lin Sui.
Lin Sui acknowledged her with a brief glance. After a pause, she said, “Send her to the infirmary.”
“Alright,” Ye Shuqian and Lu Xiaomeng nodded. Knowing they couldn’t help further, they supported Wen Xiangzhu and slowly left the field.
“You can all disperse now,” Lin Sui said coolly, glancing at Ponytail Guy before addressing the remaining students.
The crowd nodded. Even though they wanted to stay and watch the drama unfold, no one dared protest. They turned and dispersed.
Only Xia Yi remained, silently watching.
Lin Sui raised an eyebrow slightly, neither confirming nor denying her presence. She then turned her gaze lazily toward Ponytail Guy.
“Are you training this afternoon?”
“Yeah, we train every day,” Ponytail Guy replied absently.
Hearing this, Lin Sui nodded, a hint of amusement in her smile.
“Good. Still at the gym, right? I’ll wait for you after practice.”
The other team members exchanged uneasy glances.
Us?
Um, could you just teach him a lesson? Don’t drag us into this!
The captain of the soccer team, Zhou Qi, was a tall man, but he still instinctively shrank back when he saw Lin Sui.
He forced a sheepish smile. “Um… Sister Sui, we’ll treat you to dinner tonight! There’s a new place nearby…”
“I don’t eat,” Lin Sui replied coolly.
Zhou Qi’s face froze momentarily before he forced another smile.
“Then… what would you like to eat or drink? Snacks or drinks, I’ll deliver them to your desk first thing tomorrow morning!”
“I don’t eat,” Lin Sui said, glancing at him.
“Uh… then, how about I give you a little tip for your trouble?”
“Do you think I’m short on money?”
Ponytail Guy fell silent. Well, he wasn’t wrong. She didn’t look short on money at all—actually, he looked like the one who needed cash.
“Wait, what’s with your reactions?”
Ponytail Guy was utterly confused. “Captain, she’s provoking us!”
“Get lost! Drag him away!”
Zhou Qi, frazzled, barked orders. In no time, the other two had dragged Ponytail Guy away, covering his mouth.
“Sister Sui, I’ll teach him a lesson later…”
“No need for your concern.” A faint smile tugged at Lin Sui’s lips, but the coldness in her eyes remained unchanged. “Captain Zhou, we’ll see you after school. Don’t be late.”
Zhou Qi stood frozen, watching Lin Sui and Xia Yi stroll away. His teeth chattered.
“Damn it… How did we provoke this demon again?! What the hell were you doing?! Why did you provoke her?!”
“But… we didn’t provoke her! We just accidentally hit an Omega…” The team member mumbled, head bowed, trying to justify himself.
“What did the Omega call her? Did you hear? She called her ‘Sister’! The Omega you hit is Lin Sui’s younger sister! You won’t apologize and… Aiya, you old man, you’re making me so mad!”
“Grab that troublemaker and drag him over here! You’re good at nothing except causing trouble!”
“…”
Lin Sui left the playground and headed straight for the infirmary.
Xia Yi followed behind her, looking excited, as if she’d finally found an outlet for her boundless energy. “Sis, take me with you after school! I want to see what all the fuss is about!”
Lin Sui shot her a silent glare. “What’s there to see?”
“Everything! I want to see you kick butt! I heard you took on the whole soccer team by yourself—I’ve never seen that! Are you going to take them on again? You can bring me along! I can’t do much, but I can cheer you on!”
Lin Sui: “……”
She clicked her tongue, her head throbbing from the noise. “If you want to follow, then follow.”
“Ooh, thanks, Sister Sui! You’re the best!”
When they arrived at the infirmary, Wen Xiangzhu was sitting in a chair, eyes closed, resting.
Lin Sui glanced at her and instinctively lowered her voice. “How is she?”
The same nurse from before, who already recognized both girls, replied, “Just a mild concussion. Nothing serious. Rest will help.”
“Okay.”
Lin Sui nodded gently and walked over. At some point, Wen Xiangzhu had opened her eyes. “Sister,” she said.
“Mm.”
Lin Sui sat down. “Are you feeling any better? You can skip the rest of the day’s classes if you need to.”
“I’m fine. I still need to go to class,” Wen Xiangzhu said with a smile. “Besides, the league tournament is in September. I need to prepare properly.”
Lin Sui was silent for a moment, then nodded without saying anything.
Once summer vacation started, the six-month treatment period prescribed by the doctor would be over. Then, she could go back to the hospital for a follow-up checkup and… take the opportunity to get another examination…
Boarding students didn’t have evening study hall, so when school let out, Lin Sui urged Wen Xiangzhu, “Go home by yourself today. I have something to take care of.”
“What is it?” Wen Xiangzhu frowned.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Lin Sui finished packing her things and left the classroom.
Zhu Huan, with a piece of bread dangling from her mouth, was just finishing packing her things.
“Sister Zhu Huan,” Wen Xiangzhu said softly, blinking her eyes. “Do you know what Sister is doing today?”
“No,” Zhu Huan replied, her eyebrows lifting slightly. “I have to go pick up En’en for dinner. See you later.”
“Oh…”
Wen Xiangzhu stood rooted to the spot for a long moment before sighing and walking away alone.
There were still half an hour left before the soccer team’s practice ended.
Lin Sui took a break to buy some cake from the snack shop, then settled outside the gymnasium to eat while she waited.
Xia Yi arrived soon, rubbing her hands excitedly.
“When are we going in?”
“Not yet,” Lin Sui said leisurely. “Let’s wait for the coach to come out first.”
“Okay.”
The two fell silent, each occupied with their own thoughts as they waited.
Zhu Huan was exhausted from waiting and sat down on the flower bed.
After a while, a coach emerged from the gym.
Lin Sui recognized him: it was the soccer team’s coach.
Seeing this, she raised an eyebrow. “Let’s go inside.”
“Okay!”
As they entered the gym, they saw the soccer team members collapsed on the ground, exhausted.
Several players recognized Lin Sui, and their expressions suddenly tensed.
“Lin Sui’s here.”
“Damn, she really came!”
“What do we do?”
“What can we do…?”
Perhaps sensing the tense atmosphere, the tennis and volleyball teams gradually left.
Soon, the gym was cleared of all irrelevant personnel.
“Um…”
Zhou Qi approached first, rubbing his nose. “Sister Sui, we’re all exhausted. Can’t we avoid making a big scene? I’ll make them apologize! Have them admit their mistake—how about that?”
“Not good enough.”
Lin Sui glanced at him dismissively. “Do I need to apologize?”
Lin Sui’s black hair reached just past her shoulders, framing a face that was undeniably appealing. Yet her cold, defiant expression made her seem unapproachable and even intimidating.
“So… what do you propose we do about this?”
“Fight,” Lin Sui replied, her lips curling slightly. “All of you, at once.”
The group fell silent.
This was a blatant provocation!
But what choice did they have?
She had the strength to back it up.
Xia Yi eagerly cheered, “Yes! Let’s fight! Sister Sui, I’ll cheer you on!”
The group remained silent, their expressions a mix of exasperation and resignation.
Later that evening, as Lin Sui stepped out of the elevator, she was startled by Wen Xiangzhu suddenly appearing before her.
“You… are you a ghost?”
Wen Xiangzhu blinked, her gaze turning displeased. “Where did you go?”
Lin Sui paused, slightly taken aback.
“None of your business, brat.”
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyes widened in anger. “I’m not a brat!”
“Right, right, you’re not a brat. I’m going to take a shower.” Lin Sui replied softly, stepping past her and heading to her room.
But Wen Xiangzhu quickly spread her arms and blocked her path.
“I’m not! Only little kids have heat periods, and only little kids get marked!”
For a moment, everything fell silent.
Lin Sui stood stiffly, her expression complicated as she looked at Wen Xiangzhu. “What do you mean by that?”
“What do I mean? Exactly what I said,” Wen Xiangzhu murmured.
After a pause, Lin Sui sighed softly.
“I know you resent me. When summer vacation starts, I’ll take you to the hospital for a reevaluation. Then you won’t need the Temporary Mark anymore.”
With that, Lin Sui brushed past her, went back to her room, and closed the door without looking back.
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered as she stood frozen in place, lost in thought for a long moment before snapping out of it.
That… wasn’t what she meant at all.
And she didn’t resent Lin Sui at all.
