After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 28
“You’re saying one glass got her this drunk?!”
Lin Sui couldn’t believe it. How could anyone have such a terrible alcohol tolerance?!
“Yeah.” On the other end, Lu Xiaomeng sat on the private room sofa, glancing down at Wen Xiangzhu, who was slumped against her. She smiled helplessly. “I never expected this…”
“…Wait here. I’ll be there soon. Send me the address.”
“Okay.”
Wen Xiangzhu was so drunk that Lin Sui couldn’t let the driver pick her up alone, so she came herself.
That was the only reason.
“This…” Lin Sui could have sent the family maidservant instead.
The driver hesitated before saying, “The Eldest Miss is right.”
Lin Sui glanced at him. “Drive faster.”
“Right away.”
It took Lin Sui half an hour to hang up the phone and get out of the car.
She entered the restaurant, which was still bustling with diners chatting and drinking, creating a lively buzz.
“Excuse me, how do I get to private room number five?” she asked, stopping a passing waiter.
“Oh, it’s just around the corner that way.”
“Thank you.”
Lin Sui frowned as she weaved through table after table of drinking diners, her face tense as she sighed inwardly.
She’d just taken a bath, and now she’d have to wash up again.
How disgusting.
Lin Sui pushed open the private room door, finding it just as noisy inside. Yang Li had already settled the bill and left, leaving only students who hadn’t had enough fun yet, either chatting or playing games.
On the small sofa, Wen Xiangzhu leaned against Lu Xiaomeng, her eyes closed in a deep sleep.
Seeing this, Lin Sui felt a headache coming on.
How could she sleep through all this noise?
“Lin Sui…” Lu Xiaomeng called out.
The noise around them died down a little as everyone paused to glance at Lin Sui, curious as to why she’d come at this time.
Until they saw her walk straight toward Wen Xiangzhu.
…They understood.
“Not awake yet?” Lin Sui frowned slightly, looking down at Wen Xiangzhu.
Her eyes were still closed. Perhaps due to the alcohol or the stuffy private room, her cheeks were flushed, and she occasionally smacked her lips, as if dreaming.
Lu Xiaomeng shook her head, cautiously moving her stiff shoulders. “She’s been like this since she finished that drink.”
“Leave it to me,” Lin Sui said, helping Wen Xiangzhu sit up and lean against her. She then picked up the small white shoulder bag—she’d seen Wen Xiangzhu carry it last time. “Thanks for your help.”
“No problem. Happy to help.”
Lu Xiaomeng smiled. “Drive safely on the way home.”
Lin Sui acknowledged her, then tried to walk out while supporting Wen Xiangzhu.
But the girl was too out of it to move.
To do this, she’d have to drag Wen Xiangzhu.
******
After a moment of hesitation, Lin Sui, her face tense, bent down and scooped up the woman behind the knees. She lifted her into a horizontal carry.
The room had fallen silent at some point. Even the people playing games on their phones paused, staring in astonishment at Lin Sui.
As they left the private room, the crowd exchanged glances, their faces lighting up like they’d just been served a juicy gossip dish.
“I knew it! They’re really a thing!”
“They just carried her off like that?! What the heck?”
“My God! They’re not even bothering to hide it anymore! I told you people who stayed late would get the scoop!”
******
Lin Sui held Wen Xiangzhu, feeling how light she was in her arms. She’s still too thin, she thought.
With this thought, the two walked through the hotel lobby and out onto the street.
The car was parked right in front of the hotel. The driver, seeing Lin Sui carrying Wen Xiangzhu through the rearview mirror, startled and quickly got out to open the door.
“Eldest Miss, what happened to Second Miss…?”
“It’s nothing. She’s just drunk,” Lin Sui said. “Open the door.”
“Ah, yes, yes.”
The driver nodded repeatedly, opened the back door, and helped Lin Sui and Wen Xiangzhu into the car before letting out a small sigh of relief.
As the door closed and the car slowly pulled away, Wen Xiangzhu seemed to regain some consciousness. She frowned and began to fidget uneasily.
Lin Sui glanced at her and reached out to steady her. “Don’t move around.”
“Don’t…” Wen Xiangzhu murmured, pressing her flushed cheeks against Lin Sui’s hand. Startled, Lin Sui immediately withdrew her hand.
Watching Wen Xiangzhu start to thrash about again, Lin Sui was momentarily stunned. The warm sensation of Wen Xiangzhu’s cheek against her hand lingered, as if still there, before she finally snapped out of her daze.
After a moment, Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes. She looked around in confusion before her gaze settled on Lin Sui. “Sister… Why are you here? How did I end up here?”
Lin Sui averted her gaze, exasperated. “You really only had one drink?”
“Hmm…” Wen Xiangzhu blinked, pondered for a moment, and declared with conviction, “Just one cup.”
“Your alcohol tolerance is terrible,” Lin Sui said, frowning. “You’re not allowed to drink outside from now on.”
Wen Xiangzhu: “……”
“Did you hear me?” Lin Sui’s gaze darkened slightly.
“I heard…” Wen Xiangzhu blinked, still looking a bit dazed, but forced herself to ask, “So, if Sister was here, could I drink?”
Lin Sui fell silent for a moment.
“It depends.”
“So, Sister carried me into the car?”
Wen Xiangzhu pursed her lips, a smile tugging at the corners, as she looked at Lin Sui curiously.
Lin Sui hesitated, averting her gaze, and murmured, “No.”
“Then how did I get in the car?” Wen Xiangzhu tilted her head.
“I dragged you in.”
“……”
Lin Sui sighed, puzzled. “How were you so out of it earlier, but woke up the moment we got in the car?”
“I… don’t know,” Wen Xiangzhu replied innocently, looking at Lin Sui. “I just felt a little unwell, so I opened my eyes.”
“Unwell?” Lin Sui paused, then remembered something. “Right, you get carsick. How did you even know you were carsick while drunk?”
She sounded genuinely curious, since she herself didn’t get carsick and had never been drunk before.
Wen Xiangzhu fell silent for a moment. “Probably,” she said.
“Then you should take some medicine,” Lin Sui suggested. She paused, then added, “Oh right, there’s no water in the car.”
“There is,” the driver called from the front seat, pointing to the passenger side with his thumb. “I brought two bottles.”
“Good.” Lin Sui nodded, got up, and retrieved a bottle of water, then offered it to Wen Xiangzhu.
Wen Xiangzhu didn’t take it, simply staring down at the bottle, then back at Lin Sui.
Lin Sui looked back at her, utterly bewildered. After a moment’s hesitation, she twisted open the cap and offered it again.
This time, Wen Xiangzhu moved. She sat up, took out two motion sickness pills, and finally accepted the water to wash them down.
Lin Sui: “……”
She even needs me to open the bottle for her?
Forget it. Don’t argue with a drunk.
A moment later, Wen Xiangzhu set the water down and slumped back against the seat, tilting her head to look at Lin Sui.
Lin Sui, uncomfortable under her stare, said, “If you want to sleep, just sleep. Why are you looking at me?”
“I want to sleep…” Wen Xiangzhu murmured. “But I don’t want to sleep.”
“What do you mean?” Lin Sui was utterly confused. Why is she so cryptic when she speaks, but so clear-headed when she does math?
I don’t understand. I really don’t understand.
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyes curved into a smile. “Because if I sleep, I won’t be able to see you.”
After she spoke, the car fell silent for a long time, even the usually talkative driver holding his breath.
“What are you all staring at?”
Lin Sui found it a little funny. Are all drunk people this childish?
Wen Xiangzhu blinked, didn’t answer, just scooted a little closer to Lin Sui, tilted her head, and leaned against her shoulder.
“Sister…”
“…Hm?”
“Next time, will you drink with me?”
“You want a next time?”
“Yes. Drinking with others is no fun. I want to drink with you.”
Lin Sui lowered her gaze, was silent for a moment, but didn’t say anything harsh. “We can only drink at home.”
“Okay,” Wen Xiangzhu said with a smile. “We’ll just drink at home.”
Lin Sui sighed.
With her alcohol tolerance, one drink and she’d be out. What’s the point in drinking? It might help with insomnia, though.
The car soon stopped smoothly in the garage.
Lin Sui glanced at Wen Xiangzhu. She had fallen asleep again at some point.
“Get out of the car,” she called.
Wen Xiangzhu didn’t respond.
The driver went around to the back seat and opened the door. “Looks like Second Miss can’t walk on her own…”
“Should I call the nanny for help?”
“No need.”
Lin Sui grabbed Wen Xiangzhu’s bag, then carried her out of the car. “Thanks for your help. It’s getting late. Uncle Wang, you can go home now.”
“Alright, let’s go.”
Lin Sui sighed and carried Wen Xiangzhu directly to the second floor in the elevator.
The house was quiet; it seemed Lin Wei hadn’t returned yet.
“We’re here.”
Lin Sui brought Wen Xiangzhu back to her room, laid her on the bed, turned on the light, and casually tossed her bag on the table.
Wen Xiangzhu was still asleep.
But she must have felt the softness of the bed, because she pursed her lips contentedly, hugged her blanket, and turned over.
Seeing this, Lin Sui couldn’t help but frown. She went over and pulled Wen Xiangzhu up. “You haven’t even taken off your coat, let alone washed up. How can you…”
“Never mind. Don’t bother with drunk people.”
So Lin Sui ended up having to help Wen Xiangzhu take off her coat, remove her shoes, and change into pajamas…
Hiss, isn’t this a little strange?
Lin Sui let go and stood up, pacing back and forth as she stared at Wen Xiangzhu sprawled on the bed.
After agonizing for a while, she steeled herself and helped Wen Xiangzhu sit up, then began unbuttoning her coat.
There weren’t many buttons, but it was proving difficult.
She had to hold Wen Xiangzhu steady while unbuttoning, and she only had two hands.
Lin Sui had never taken care of anyone before, and her movements were somewhat clumsy. But she quickly discovered a convenient position.
She had Wen Xiangzhu lying in her arms, her hands cradling her, and she slowly began unbuttoning her clothes.
But…
This position seemed a little suggestive.
Lin Sui felt her head spin.
This is such a pain.
“Wen Xiangzhu? Are you awake?” Lin Sui frowned, asking tentatively.
The person in her arms breathed evenly, clearly sound asleep.
If she’s asleep, even if I do something a little inappropriate, she probably won’t know.
With this thought, Lin Sui reluctantly held Wen Xiangzhu in her arms and slowly stripped her.
When only the final layer remained, Lin Sui hesitated. “I’m not trying to take advantage of you,” she muttered. “I’m just helping you. You can’t blame me.”
Seeing no reaction from the person in her arms, Lin Sui relaxed slightly and removed the last garment.
Just the undergarments left… probably don’t need to change those.
Still conflicted, Lin Sui decided to sit up and lay Wen Xiangzhu down on the bed.
Just then, the person on the bed stirred and slowly opened her eyes.
Lin Sui: “……”
Why did she have to wake up now of all times?!
“Sister?”
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered as she looked at Lin Sui, bewildered. Then she realized she was back in her room.
A moment later, a chill ran through her. As she pushed herself up with her hands, she discovered that she was…
Now she understood why she felt so cold.
For a brief instant, Wen Xiangzhu froze. Then her expression shifted, and she looked up at Lin Sui.
Their eyes met, and Lin Sui saw the lingering moisture in Wen Xiangzhu’s gaze. She didn’t know how to explain herself. Could things get any worse?
******
How could I make such a huge mistake?!
“I just… wanted to help you change,” Lin Sui said stiffly, averting her gaze.
“Mm,” Wen Xiangzhu replied softly, glancing at the neatly folded nightgown placed beside the bed. “Then, Sister, why didn’t you help me take this off too?”
Lin Sui: “??!”
This isn’t right. She’s not even asking someone else to do it!
“How could you even ask something like that?!” Lin Sui snapped, her face tense. “Since you’re awake, you can do it yourself.”
She turned to leave, but her wrist was caught.
“Sister, I’m still dizzy,” Wen Xiangzhu said pitifully, gazing at her. “I can’t do it myself.”
After a moment, Lin Sui sighed heavily, still facing away. “Change your underwear yourself. I’ll help with the rest.”
Wen Xiangzhu frowned, reluctantly agreeing. “Fine.”
Behind her came the soft rustling of fabric. Lin Sui closed her eyes, but the sound seemed amplified in her mind.
Why does this normal sound… feel so strange?
“Done,” the Omega said from behind.
Lin Sui opened her eyes and turned around. Wen Xiangzhu had already changed her underwear and was sitting obediently on the bed, watching her.
As if burned, she quickly averted her gaze, grabbed a set of sleep clothes from the side, and swiftly dressed Wen Xiangzhu. The movements flowed smoothly, almost effortlessly, as if she’d never moved so quickly before.
“Done!”
Lin Sui let go and stepped back several paces, turning around. “Go to sleep. I’m leaving.”
“Wait,” Wen Xiangzhu called out softly. “Sister, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
Lin Sui: “……”
Fine.
With no other choice, Lin Sui went to the bathroom and brought back all the toiletries. She pulled up a chair beside the bed but made no move to help. “Do it yourself.”
“Oh…”
Wen Xiangzhu looked disappointed but obediently washed up.
After putting everything back, Lin Sui thought she was finally free.
Taking care of people was such a exhausting job.
But Wen Xiangzhu called out to her again.
“Sister, I haven’t changed my Blocker Patch yet.”
Lin Sui: “……”
Are you here to make me pay for something? Her head ached, feeling overwhelmed, wanting to cry but no tears came.
Wen Xiangzhu pressed her lips together, lowering her head, looking wronged. “You’ve already seen everything anyway… What’s wrong with helping me change my Blocker Patch?”
Lin Sui: “……”
“You’re actually acting aggrieved…”
Fine, she had indeed seen something she shouldn’t have.
She was in the wrong.
“Alright, alright.” Lin Sui reluctantly grabbed a new Blocker Patch, tore open the packaging, and looked at Wen Xiangzhu. “What are you looking at me for? Turn around.”
“Oh.” Wen Xiangzhu blinked and obediently turned away, flipping her hair aside.
Lin Sui’s eyes unconsciously darkened as she slowly reached out and peeled off the old Blocker Patch.
A faint scent of pheromones wafted up, but she remained oblivious. No matter how many times she saw it, the scent gland was undeniably beautiful—beautiful enough that she couldn’t resist a fleeting caress with the pad of her finger.
The Omega before her shivered slightly, but offered no other reaction, silently allowing her touch.
The lingering scent of red wine on Wen Xiangzhu’s skin affected Lin Sui. Her body felt inexplicably warm, her mind restless, as if she needed to release some pent-up energy.
After a moment of dazed silence, Lin Sui snapped back to her senses and quickly averted her gaze.
She sensed that Wen Xiangzhu’s pheromones held a unique allure for her, different from any other Omega.
Taking a deep breath, she pressed the new Blocker Patch against the scent gland.
“Done.”
Wen Xiangzhu slowly turned to look at Lin Sui, remaining silent for a long moment.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Sui asked, frowning.
After a pause, Wen Xiangzhu shook her head with a smile. The lingering blush on her face gave her an inexplicably alluring look. “Nothing. I just… feel so comfortable with you taking care of me…”
She hesitated, as if struggling to find the right words. “It’s just… comforting.”
Comforting?
Lin Sui froze, her heart pounding wildly.
“You… you should get some rest. I’m going back now.”
Without another word, she fled the room, slamming the door shut behind her.
The corridor was dark, the lights off.
Leaning against the wall, Lin Sui closed her eyes and took deep breaths until she felt slightly calmer. Only then did she stumble back to her own room.
That night, Lin Sui couldn’t sleep.
She lay awake until dawn, her mind racing.
She realized that… especially with Wen Xiangzhu…
it was probably best to keep her distance.
