After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 15
The next morning, after waking up, Wen Xiangzhu habitually headed toward Lin Sui’s room, only to find the door wide open and the room empty.
She frowned and searched the entire house, but there was no sign of Lin Sui.
“Um, Auntie Lin?” She spotted Lin Wei emerging from the study and quickly called out, “Is Sister not home today?”
Lin Wei replied, “Wenwen came over today. She must have taken Wenwen to play in the garden.”
“Wenwen?”
“Yes, Jiang Wanwan. She’s Suisui’s fiancée, very pretty. I’m sure you’ll like her.”
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, the light in her eyes dimming. She lowered her gaze. “Oh, okay. Thank you, Auntie.”
“Is there something you need to discuss with Suisui?” Lin Wei asked, her voice filled with concern.
“No, I was just checking in,” Wen Xiangzhu replied.
Lin Wei nodded. “These two don’t get to see each other often, so it’s important for them to stay connected. I’m even planning to have Suisui spend half a month at the Jiang family’s place during the winter break.”
“Auntie,” Wen Xiangzhu said, pursing her lips. “Why must Sister marry Jiang Wanwan?”
The room fell silent for a moment after her question.
Lin Wei sighed. “The word ‘marriage’ itself sounds so cold and impersonal. Back then, when Suisui’s mother had just left and the company was in chaos—losing money left and right, on the verge of collapse—it was the Jiang family who stepped in and helped us through that difficult time.”
“At the time, both Suisui and Wanwan were still young, so our elders arranged this marriage to strengthen the bond between our families and ensure we could support each other.”
Lin Wei smiled. “Suisui has always known about this arrangement.”
Wen Xiangzhu lowered her gaze and fell silent for a moment before murmuring, “But this marriage is only the will of the two families’ elders.”
“Then… what about Sister? What does she think about it?”

Inside the pavilion of the garden, Lin Sui and Jiang Wanwan sat facing each other, a small table between them laden with snacks and juice.
“Sister Sui, have you noticed I’ve lost a little weight recently?”
“Yes,” Lin Sui replied, looking at Jiang Wanwan. “But even without losing that weight, you’re still beautiful.”
As the words faded, Jiang Wanwan lowered her head, a small smile playing on her lips, her cheeks flushed pink.
Just then, a familiar voice called out from behind them: “Wanwan?”
Lin Sui stiffened. She had specifically chosen the pavilion today to avoid Jiang Wanwan running into Wen Xiangzhu.
If Jiang Wanwan knew Wen Xiangzhu was her step-sister, how could she possibly explain pretending not to recognize her last time?
No, how could she possibly explain it?
Lin Sui was so worried she didn’t want to speak.
But Jiang Wanwan was very enthusiastic to see Wen Xiangzhu. “Wenwen? What are you doing here? Come sit!”
“Sister Sui, you’re being unfair! When did you get so close to Wenwen? And you invited her over for a visit without telling me?”
“Ah…”
Lin Sui opened her mouth, momentarily speechless.
Wen Xiangzhu sat next to Jiang Wanwan, a faint smile playing on her lips. She looked up at Lin Sui without speaking, her eyes holding an unreadable glint.
After a moment, Lin Sui sighed and steeled herself. “Wanwan, she’s not here as a guest.”
“Hmm? Then what is she here for?” Jiang Wanwan asked curiously.
“She’s my step-sister. She’s living here now,” Lin Sui said softly, lowering her gaze.
For a long moment, the pavilion fell silent.
“Ah?” Jiang Wanwan was initially confused, but when she understood, she said, “So that’s how it is! I heard Auntie Lin remarried, so…”
She cleared her throat and didn’t finish the sentence. “Well, in that case… it’s actually… not bad. We can play together!”
“Right, we can play together now,” she murmured, then smiled and took Wen Xiangzhu’s hand. “Wenwen, since you’re Sister Sui’s younger sister, that makes you my little sister-in-law. From now on, we’re family!”
“Uh-huh…” Wen Xiangzhu’s lips twitched into a forced smile.
Lin Sui sat nearby, puzzled by the dynamics between these two Omegas. They seemed affectionate, yet something felt off. It was as if their apparent closeness masked deeper tensions. I don’t get it. There’s just something… unsettling about this.
Fortunately, Jiang Wanwan didn’t mention the incident where Lin Sui and Wen Xiangzhu pretended not to know each other. They spent the day playing together.
As dusk approached, a driver from the Jiang family arrived to take Jiang Wanwan home.
Back in her room that evening, Wen Xiangzhu finally remembered the forum post. The comments had already guessed that the car in the photo belonged to Lin Sui’s family, and many were speculating about her relationship with Lin Sui, even linking it to the previous “Grade 1 Big Scandal” thread.
Yet Wen Xiangzhu wasn’t upset by these rumors. In fact, she found it amusing that they were being misunderstood. She enjoyed this kind of confusion.
Lu Xiaomeng, however, was worried about her and called to check in.
“Wenwen, should you show that forum post to Lin Sui? She’ll probably handle it, so people stop spreading wild rumors about you two.”
“No need to trouble her. I don’t mind,” Wen Xiangzhu murmured, lowering her eyes.
“But everyone’s assuming you two…”
“It’s fine.”
“Alright then.”
Wen Xiangzhu never mentioned the forum post to Lin Sui.
Meanwhile, Lin Sui hadn’t checked the group chat or forum in the past few days, so she was genuinely unaware of the situation.
She’d caught up on all the sleep she’d lost at school, and by Sunday afternoon, when she returned, she felt refreshed and energetic.
But strangely, as soon as she entered the dormitory, she sensed Xia Yi and Ye Shuqian giving her peculiar looks.
Lin Sui brimmed with questions, but she kept them to herself, sitting on her bed and tidying her things.
After a moment, Xia Yi couldn’t contain herself and sidled over. “Um, Suisui, can I ask you something?”
“Yeah, go ahead,” Lin Sui replied casually.
“So… what’s up with you and Wen Xiangzhu?” Xia Yi lowered her voice, asking cautiously.
Lin Sui’s mind froze. “Me and… Wen Xiangzhu?”
No way! Did someone find out about our relationship?!
Just as Lin Sui’s heart began to race with fear, Xia Yi continued, “Yeah, everyone’s guessing. A lot of people are saying you two are dating…”
“Dating?!” Lin Sui froze, then suddenly let out a laugh.
“Why are you laughing?” Xia Yi blinked, confused.
Lin Sui lowered her head. “It just seems pretty ridiculous.”
“Looks like everything on the forum was false then,” Xia Yi sighed in relief. “I knew it! How could you possibly be in a romance so early?”
Lin Sui raised an eyebrow and looked up at her. “Forum?”
Xia Yi didn’t answer, simply pulling up the posts for Lin Sui to see.
Perhaps having received confirmation from Lin Sui, she visibly relaxed. “I knew it! Those anonymous trolls on the forum just spout nonsense. And some were even trying to stir up trouble, spreading rumors that Wenwen had a sugar daddy! Thank goodness someone pointed out it was your car, and that derailed the whole thread.”
Lin Sui silently scrolled through the comments, her expression growing more serious when she saw the comment that had tried to manipulate the narrative.
So someone had been stalking… perhaps by coincidence, they snapped a photo of her and Wen Xiangzhu getting into the car to go home, and then posted it on the forum.
But the photo only showed Wen Xiangzhu, and that manipulative comment in the comments section was impossible to ignore.
As she pondered this, the dormitory door suddenly swung open.
Zhu Huan swaggered in, announcing loudly, “Sisters, your Queen Zhu is back!”
“……”
Truth be told, no one really cared.
“What’s wrong?” Zhu Huan noticed Lin Sui’s uneasy expression and hurried over. “What’s up?”
“Have you seen this post?”
Zhu Huan glanced at it. “Yeah, I’ve seen it. You only just found out?”
Lin Sui: “……”
Seeing Lin Sui’s silence, Zhu Huan’s eyes widened. “No way! You seriously didn’t know?!”
“I thought you… What did you do over the weekend?”
“I hung out with Jiang Wanwan and slept.”
“Huh?” Zhu Huan frowned. “Did you two… get that serious that fast?!”
Lin Sui was a little speechless. “I mean, I spent the day playing with Jiang Wanwan, and most of the rest of the time I was sleeping.”
“Oh, you scared me!”
“……”
Xia Yi, listening nearby, couldn’t help but ask, “Um… who’s Jiang Wanwan?”
“Lin Sui’s fiancée,” Zhu Huan answered.
Hearing this, Xia Yi blinked. “You have a fiancée?! This rumor is outrageous! What if your fiancée sees it and misunderstands?”
Lin Sui thought about it and realized it made sense. “I’ll have someone delete the post and investigate who posted that comment trying to stir up trouble.”
That night, the post disappeared from the forum.
But the story had already spread throughout the school, and many students had saved screenshots. Deleting the post had little effect.
The next morning, Lin Sui and Zhu Huan left their dormitory for the teaching building.
“Suisui,” Zhu Huan said, looking annoyed as they walked. “Have you noticed how many people are secretly staring at you? Their looks are really weird.”
“I’ve noticed,” Lin Sui yawned. “Let them stare. They won’t figure anything out, and it’s not like I’m losing any flesh.”
Zhu Huan nodded and didn’t say anything more.
This continued until noon, when Lin Sui received a message on her phone:
Found it. The poster is Feng Yue, an Omega, from Second Year, Class Five. The comment was posted by Lu Rong, another Omega from Class Five. I heard they’re close.
Got it.
Lin Sui replied and put away her phone.
“Let’s go eat,” Zhu Huan said, putting away her phone and standing up.
“Not so fast,” Lin Sui said, narrowing her eyes slightly. She stood up slowly and glanced at Wen Xiangzhu in front of her. “Let’s ask Xia Yi to come with us.”
“Huh?” Zhu Huan asked, puzzled. “Didn’t you used to hate how loud she is?”
“That was then. But now… I have something to ask her,” Lin Sui said calmly.
When she finished speaking, Zhu Huan blinked, suddenly understanding. “Is this about that post? Something to do with Xia Yi?”
“No, but it does involve someone from Class Five.”
Wen Xiangzhu, who had been listening quietly with her head down, suddenly spoke up. “Um… can I come too?”
