After Marrying the Disabled Demon Lord as a Substitute, I Ran Away with His Child - Chapter 65
Chapter 65
The battle at the gates of the Xuan Cloud Sect firmly established its status in the cultivation world.
Although it remained a “Demonic Cult,” the attitude of other sects had softened considerably. This wasn’t just because of the strength shown in that battle, but because lately, the entire sect was so preoccupied with “raising the baby” that almost no one came out to cause trouble. It inadvertently brought a period of peace, harmony, and happiness to the entire cultivation world.
Zuo Siqiu and Xuan Mo had been hiding for three days in his secluded meditation chamber.
Lying across Xuan Mo’s lap, Zuo Siqiu let out a long sigh. “Why did we decide to have a kid? At her age, she’s so clingy, so cute… and so incredibly annoying.”
Xuan Mo rested his head on his hand, stroking Siqiu’s hair. “Let the Left and Right Protectors handle her. Those two could use some ‘tempering’ anyway.”
Zuo Siqiu looked up at his refined face and hugged his waist. “Mm, I noticed your abs are getting even more defined from the ‘exhaustion’ lately.”
Feeling the pressure on his core, Xuan Mo’s muscles tightened as he sneered playfully, “When have my abs ever been lacking?”
Zuo Siqiu teased suggestively, “When I first met you, weren’t you… ‘incapable’? I had to work so hard to save your reputation.”
Xuan Mo scooped her up, planting her firmly on his lap. “Who are you calling ‘incapable’?”
Zuo Siqiu gave a sly smile. Men were all the same. However, she reminded him seriously, “Pay attention to contraception. We are not having another one.”
Thinking of their little troublemaker, Xuan Mo felt a headache coming on. “Definitely.”
…
The Young Master of the Xuan Cloud Sect, Xuan Jing, was not yet three years old. Sometimes she couldn’t even speak clearly, but there she was, perched on the Right Protector’s shoulder, waving a little stick with a furrowed brow.
“Find Daddy!” she commanded, pointing forward.
Blood Demon stared ahead with a hollow expression, feeling the weight of despair. “Young Master, are you sure you want to find your father?”
Xuan Jing pouted. “Daddy!”
But your dad and mom are hiding from you! Blood Demon thought miserably.
Yan Jiaojiao sighed helplessly beside him. “What are we playing today? The Leader and Madam are too much—how can they just disappear like that?”
Think of her, Yan Jiaojiao! When had she ever been tied down to one place for so long? When had she gone ten days without looking for a handsome man? Now, the little Young Master slept with her every night; she had zero time for romance!
Xuan Jing looked down at the petite Yan Jiaojiao and tapped her head with the stick. “Auntie Jiao! Carry me! Let’s find Mommy!”
Thankfully, Yan Jiaojiao was a powerful cultivator, or her small frame might not have been able to support the chubby, round-bellied Xuan Jing. Once the child was in her arms, Blood Demon breathed a sigh of relief.
After searching the entire sect, Yan Jiaojiao told her, “See? They aren’t here. Let’s play something else.”
Xuan Jing’s lip trembled. “No! I want Daddy and Mommy!” She pointed toward the mountain gate. “Search outside!”
“You just want to go out and play!” the two Protectors muttered, their lips twitching.
Xuan Jing widened her eyes. “No! Finding Daddy and Mommy!”
“We should check the secluded chamber; they must be there,” Yan Jiaojiao suggested.
Xuan Jing hugged Yan Jiaojiao’s neck tightly. “No! Shop-ping!”
Blood Demon sneered, “Heh, so finding your parents was just an excuse.”
Xuan Jing’s eyes darted around. “Is not!”
In the end, they took her to the Black Shop. Xuan Jing was already a local celebrity; the story of her mother “running away with a ball” was known to everyone. As soon as the toddler entered the shop, she pulled out a jade pendant and told the shopkeeper, “Uncle Manager, I’m Super VIP. Close the shop for me!”
The other cultivators queuing for Zuo Siqiu’s pills complained, “Little Young Master, you can’t do that! We need our pills!”
Xuan Jing put her hands on her hips and tilted her head back. “Hmph!” Then she whipped out the VIP Black Card her father gave her. The cultivators had seen this many times; every time she flaunted it, the shop closed for her private shopping spree, and their wait time doubled.
It was agony, but who dared argue with the Demon Sect’s heir?
A young teenage cultivator near the front of the line grew worried. He had waited a long time, and if he returned to his sect late, his master would punish him. He knew the Demon Sovereign’s daughter was untouchable, but he didn’t want to leave empty-handed.
He stepped forward as Xuan Jing was about to enter. “Ordinary practitioners like us certainly aren’t qualified to shop with the Young Master, or even step into the same room. Why not have the manager move the spirit pills outside to sell? That way, it shows the Young Master’s nobility and our lowliness!”
Xuan Jing thought this made perfect sense! “Mommy said things placed outside are ‘street stall goods’!” She pointed at the queue. “Then you guys buy the street stall goods outside!”
The manager sighed in relief—it was the best solution. But no one told Xuan Jing that her mother’s pills, usually kept in the most prestigious cabinet inside, were now being hawked on the sidewalk like cheap snacks.
After a happy shopping spree, Xuan Jing finally remembered: “Mommy’s pills!”
The manager had a bad feeling. He pointed tremulously toward the door. “The Madam’s pills are being sold at the entrance.”
Xuan Jing froze. Her mother’s pills had become “street stall goods”! She burst into tears, realizing she had been tricked. She demanded they be moved back to the best cabinet and went home crying to file a complaint.
Blood Demon had a feeling that if she couldn’t find her parents, she’d get even angrier. “You can’t go to the Venerable One for such a small thing,” he whispered. “We can settle this ourselves!”
Xuan Jing sniffled. “Settle it myself! I’m a big baby now!”
Blood Demon took the “big baby” to find the culprit. Xuan Jing pointed at the teenage boy: “Catch him! Take him back!”
The boy’s sect was tiny and couldn’t resist. They watched helplessly as their junior brother was dragged away. The boy was terrified, thinking his life was over.
Back at the sect, Blood Demon asked, “Young Master, since we brought him back, shall I skin him alive to warn the others?”
“No!” Xuan Jing shouted. “It needs to be scarier!”
“Then… throw him in the Dark Prison with some vicious beasts?”
Xuan Jing shook her head. “No, no!”
As expected of the Young Master, Blood Demon thought. Her talent for demonic cruelty is beyond us. “Then what do you suggest?”
Xuan Jing pointed at the boy: “Make him walk the chickens! And… and take me!”
Blood Demon: “???” The Boy: “???”
“That… is indeed very torturous,” Blood Demon admitted.
…
When Zuo Siqiu and Xuan Mo finally emerged from seclusion, they saw Xuan Jing standing there with her hands on her hips, followed by a weary-looking teenage boy.
“Where did you two go!” she demanded, her voice sounding adorable despite her “fierce” tone.
Zuo Siqiu asked, “Who is the person behind you?”
“Bad person!” Xuan Jing declared. “He made Mommy’s pills into street stall goods! I punished him! He has to walk the roosters and take the Little Young Master!” (The ‘Little Young Master’ being herself).
Zuo Siqiu: “Impressive.” Xuan Jing puffed out her chest with pride.
Later, after hearing the full story from Blood Demon, Zuo Siqiu leaned her head on her hand. “Take care of that kid on the side. This was truly a disaster out of nowhere for him.”
Blood Demon thought that as demonic cultivators, doing a little evil was only natural, but he obeyed.
From then on, the boy who thought he was a doomed captive found his life suddenly improving. He was given a formal position in the Demon Sect, received free high-quality pills made by the Madam, and gained access to the vast library of cultivation techniques. Since the parents were back, his “babysitting” time was reduced, leaving him hours to focus on his own cultivation. It was far better than his old sect.
When he eventually met his former sect brothers again, his cultivation had skyrocketed. They looked at him with intense envy. “How did your power grow so fast? What do you do in the Demon Sect?”
He replied simply, “Just walking the chickens and the kid.”
Everyone else: “???”
