After Marrying the Disabled Demon Lord as a Substitute, I Ran Away with His Child - Chapter 28
Chapter 28
Zuo Siqiu’s appearance disrupted the combat rhythm of many people.
Some were in the middle of “channeling” a powerful ultimate move when a pill smashed down; not only was their channeling interrupted, but half of their bodies were instantly frozen!
This ice was no ordinary ice; it appeared to be a form of demonic venom from a specific beast. Curing this toxin would require spending a fortune on high-grade spiritual pills!
Others were locked in heated combat, trading thousands of strikes in a flash of sword light and sparks. But at that moment, a pill would smack them right in the face. It didn’t cause much physical damage, but once the pill shattered, a stench so foul erupted that their opponent would recoil several steps, covering their nose and eventually deciding to find someone else to fight.
The person hit was the one who suffered most; no matter where he went, that thick, nauseating odor clung to his face. Eventually, he was kicked to the edge of the crowd, kneeling on the ground and vomiting uncontrollably.
Aside from the large pills that had blasted the Bixia Sect gate, there were also tiny ones being pelted at faces. Upon impact, they exploded with a “pop,” leaving people dizzy and seeing stars.
Sometimes, a hole would suddenly blow open in the ground mid-fight. Someone trying to push off the ground would step into empty space, tumble into the pit, and in their carelessness, snap a bone!
It took a good while before the crowd noticed Zuo Siqiu, who was incessantly dealing underhanded blows from the edge of the fray.
But whenever someone raised a sword to charge at her, Xuan Mo would cast a single glance. Those attackers would instantly be crushed by his sheer aura, spitting blood as they were sent flying backward.
This husband and wife pair are simply not human!
Also spitting blood was the Sect Leader of Bixia, Immortal Venerable Bimu.
“How is this possible! What are those things? How did they blow up my mountain gate!”
“Are those people sent by the sects and clans all useless? Why can’t they stop Long Xiaotian and the others!”
“What exactly are those spiritual pills? Are they Dharma treasures?”
He hadn’t even spotted Fu Gui’s silhouette in this battle. Instead, Zuo Siqiu—standing beside Xuan Mo—was exceptionally conspicuous.
The storage bag in her hand seemed inexhaustible. She was constantly pulling out bizarre spiritual pills and tossing them at people, each producing an unexpected and chaotic effect.
Bimu tried to tell himself they were treasures, not pills. But having been an alchemist for hundreds of years, how could he not distinguish between a Dharma treasure and a spiritual pill?
A Foundation Building alchemist was holding pills he had never even seen before. Did Zuo Siqiu refine them herself, or did Xuan Mo give them to her?
It must be Xuan Mo. How could it be Zuo Siqiu? How could she have such talent!
I am the number one alchemist in this world! I am the most talented!
Yes, I am the first alchemist of the cultivation world. Zuo Siqiu will soon become the medicinal primer in my furnace.
Bimu looked at his daughter, Bi Zhian, who was standing dazed before the mountain gate, and a curse erupted in his heart!
Didn’t he tell her to bring Zuo Siqiu to his cave dwelling? What was she doing?
Bimu immediately sent a telepathic message to his daughter: “What are you dazing for? Why haven’t you taken your junior sister back to the sect yet?”
Bi Zhian snapped back to reality and looked back toward the sect. “Father, did you really not do the things they said?”
Bimu replied: “Of course not! This is all a conspiracy by the Demonic Cult! So many people have already fallen for it, and your junior sister is deep in the middle of it. Are you going to just let her be?”
No. Since the day she married into the Demonic Cult, everything she has endured has been in my place. I have the obligation to save her.
It seemed Xuan Mo and the Demonic Cult were not good to her; they were likely just using her for this battle, putting on an act of marital harmony.
Once she reached this conclusion, Bi Zhian flew toward her junior sister.
At the same time, Bimu appeared in front of Xuan Mo. He knew Xuan Mo was protecting Zuo Siqiu; if they stayed together, Bi Zhian would never succeed. He had to appear to divert Xuan Mo’s attention.
His appearance shocked everyone around.
“It’s Immortal Venerable Bimu!”
“Is he going to kill us to silence us, or capture us as ‘cauldrons’!”
“Or does he want to explain the Memory Stones? Immortal Venerable, can you tell us—are those images true or false?”
Bimu ignored them, charging straight at Xuan Mo with a roar: “Monster! This is all your slander! Prepare to die!”
Xuan Mo immediately moved to engage. Before Bimu reached him, he telepathically told Zuo Siqiu: “He doesn’t have the Mustard Seed Space on him.”
With those words, he used his aura to sweep Zuo Siqiu to a distance. He knew that if she stayed, she would be injured by the fallout of their clash.
Being pushed away, Zuo Siqiu immediately looked for a place to hide, clutching the defensive treasure Xuan Mo had given her. Simultaneously, her other hand didn’t stop fishing weird pills out of her pouch to toss at the enemy.
She didn’t expect Bi Zhian to suddenly appear before her—and even block a blade for her.
While the clanging of weapons still rang in her ears, Zuo Siqiu gripped a pill, looking at Bi Zhian warily.
Bi Zhian dispatched a clan member who had tried to kill Zuo Siqiu and walked to her side. “Junior Sister, come back to the sect with me. Once you’re back, you won’t be controlled by the Demonic Cult anymore!”
These words actually aligned with Zuo Siqiu’s plan, though they sounded a bit grating. She definitely intended to go back to the sect; if the space wasn’t on Bimu, it was likely hidden in his dwelling. This was the perfect chance to search for it during the chaos.
Before Zuo Siqiu could answer, Bi Zhian spoke again, her voice full of urgency and guilt: “If it weren’t for taking my place, how could you have become like this?”
She looked at the pills in Zuo Siqiu’s hand. “To have to use such sinister objects to protect yourself.”
Zuo Siqiu: “???”
I’m a Foundation Building girl in the middle of a chaotic battlefield. Being a marksman is fair, right? Throwing explosive pills is fair, right? How did these become ‘sinister objects’?
But Bi Zhian was convinced her sister had been thoroughly brainwashed by the Demonic Cult and no longer knew right from wrong. She had to save her.
Bi Zhian grabbed Zuo Siqiu’s hand, and Zuo Siqiu did not resist. She knew she wouldn’t be in danger with Bi Zhian, as the woman’s “White Lotus” persona wouldn’t allow her to hurt others.
She glanced back at Xuan Mo just as she was whisked away by Bi Zhian. The speed of cultivators was incredible; they soared into the air, and soon they were inside the sect. Zuo Siqiu could only catch a glimpse of the edge of the battlefield.
Zuo Siqiu took two deep breaths to calm herself and asked, “Third Senior Sister, where are you taking me?”
Bi Zhian said, “Father’s cave dwelling is the safest. I’ll take you there. Don’t worry, Father has asked many clans and sects for help; the Demonic Cult won’t get a chance.”
Soon they arrived at Bimu’s dwelling, exactly as Zuo Siqiu had hoped. Bi Zhian led her straight inside.
Zuo Siqiu was now perfectly calm. The female lead was a “White Lotus” and wouldn’t attack her. The most important thing now was finding the Mustard Seed Space.
After they stopped, Zuo Siqiu rubbed her wrist where Bi Zhian had gripped it too hard. She pulled out the peak acting skills she had honed since her “wedding night.” “I’m so glad you didn’t leave me there, Sister. With so many Demonic Cult members around, I didn’t dare say I wanted to go with you. If you hadn’t taken me forcefully, I’d still be struggling there.”
Bi Zhian looked pained. “I knew it! The slander against Father was made up by them, wasn’t it?”
Zuo Siqiu frowned slightly. “I don’t know about that. But in the Demonic Cult, I heard a lot of news. The Demon Lord said the Master kept those ‘cauldrons’ in a Mustard Seed Space, and that space is hidden in his dwelling. If you want to know the truth, we can look for it together.”
Bi Zhian hesitated.
Zuo Siqiu added, “Once we find the space and prove there are no ‘cauldrons’ inside, the Demonic Cult’s lies will crumble, right?”
Bi Zhian agreed: “You’re right. Let’s look for it here.”
The two split up to search the dwelling. Zuo Siqiu searched for fifteen minutes with no luck. However, during that time, there was no sound from Bi Zhian’s side either.
Zuo Siqiu quieted her mind to sense the surroundings. Bi Zhian wasn’t hiding her presence; Zuo Siqiu could feel that she was close by and seemed to be standing perfectly still.
She hurried over to Bi Zhian and saw a spiritual tree twice the height of a person. This tree was one of the gateways to space. She hadn’t expected Bimu to leave it out in the open—he really trusted his daughter.
“It’s here, Sister,” Zuo Siqiu said. “Let’s go in. Whatever the truth is, we’ll know once we step inside.”
Bi Zhian still didn’t move. Her voice was ethereal and low: “I heard your sister was also kidnapped as a ‘cauldron’?”
Zuo Siqiu replied, “The images in the Memory Stone told me so. But whether it was Master’s doing… we can only judge once we enter this space.”
Bi Zhian took a deep breath, feeling an unprecedented irritation in her heart. But she knew she couldn’t show it; she wasn’t that kind of person.
Bimu hadn’t set many restrictions on the space his arrogance had been his undoing. He thought the masterminds were Fu Gui and the Demonic Cult, and that Zuo Siqiu was just a fish on his chopping block. He never dreamed his little disciple and daughter would wander his dwelling looking for the entrance.
When the two entered the space, Bimu felt a ripple. His pupils constricted, and he looked back toward his dwelling. Because of this momentary distraction, he was struck in the chest by Xuan Mo’s aura. A piercing cold surged through his body, reaching his dantian and freezing his primordial spirit.
He spat out blood, his face turning pale from the drop in temperature. He glared at Xuan Mo with bloodshot eyes: “You set me up!”
Xuan Mo was not a villain who died by talking too much. He didn’t say a word, immediately unleashing another fierce, icy wave. Bimu was forced to fight while desperately trying to retreat to his dwelling.
…
Inside the Mustard Seed Space, Bi Zhian and Zuo Siqiu were met with a scene of breathtaking celestial beauty, ethereal mist, blooming spiritual flowers, and rare treasures scattered everywhere, serving as both decoration and spirit-energy enhancers.
Yet, in the midst of this beauty, over a hundred women—clothed in rags, covered in scars, some hovering between life and death—were huddled together, staring at the intruders with fierce, desperate eyes.
Bi Zhian couldn’t take a single step. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She couldn’t believe her father had really imprisoned over a hundred women in here.
Zuo Siqiu, however, spotted a silhouette at the very front of the crowd. She immediately sprinted across the mist, her skirt brushing away countless petals.
The person at the front saw her running. First came vigilance, then shock, and finally infinite joy and emotion.
When she had heard from Fu Gui that Zuo Siqiu was coming to save her, she felt she could die happy. Her sister had finally become brave and knew how to protect her. She had told Fu Gui she didn’t want her sister to risk herself. When she heard her sister had married into the Demonic Cult, she feared for her life. How could a girl like her survive in a demon’s den?
Ultimately, she had agreed to Fu Gui’s plan and had been waiting. As long as she could get out, she would use her life to protect her sister. But she never imagined her sister would personally come in to rescue her!
She tried to stand, but her weak body made her falter. Zuo Siqiu immediately supported her sister, her eyes reddening slightly as she broke into a radiant smile. “Sister, I’ve come to take you home!”
Then she turned to the women behind her. “Everyone, come out with us!”
Some faces were filled with joy and gratitude, but others were filled with terror.
“Bimu will find out! He’ll punish you!” “How can we escape? We’ve been trapped here so long, there’s no way out!” “We can’t let them run! If they escape, we’ll be punished too!” “Yes! Maybe if we stop them, Immortal Venerable Bimu will be kinder to us for our loyalty.”
Zuo Siqiu found these people incomprehensible. “He’s already treated you like cauldrons, how much ‘kinder’ can he be?”
A surge of frustration and anger rose in her chest. “Have you been kneeling so long that you’ve forgotten how to stand?”
The women willing to leave stood up, separating themselves from the unwilling. “If they don’t want to go, leave them.” “Taking them is a burden; who knows if they’ll drag us down.”
A woman in that group stood up, her face a mess but her eyes full of malice. “Zuo Mudong! How can you be so selfish? How can all of you be so selfish? You only think about escaping, but have you thought about us? Those of us who stay will suffer more punishment because of you!”
Zuo Siqiu hated people like this most. A thought flashed through her mind.
She was so angry she didn’t even have time for a sentimental hug with her sister. She pushed her sister behind her, rolled up her sleeves, and said fiercely, “You call that selfish? Let me show you what real ‘harming others for personal gain’ looks like!”
She looked around, her eyes lighting up. “This place is quite rich. So many high-grade spiritual materials.”
Even Bi Zhian, who hadn’t snapped out of her shock, asked in surprise, “Junior Sister, what do you mean by that?”
Zuo Siqiu looked back at her. “Sister, since the day I married into the Demonic Cult in your place, their ideologies have slowly eroded my soul. So now, I’m going to do what Demonic Cultists do—I’m going to loot this place!”
She then looked at the women who refused to leave. “Tell me, when Immortal Venerable Bimu returns and sees that every good thing in this space has been cleared out, and the whole place is smashed to bits… how do you think he’ll vent his anger on you?”
With those words, she pulled out two “Explosive Boar Pills” and threw them right at Bi Zhian’s feet and into the middle of the crowd of unwilling women.
A massive explosion rang out, followed by wave after wave of screams.
While scaring them, she said to her sister, “Sister, help me move things! I’m dirt poor! I’m drowning in debt out there!”
She had several storage treasures on her; after months of refining pills, only one pouch still had anything in it, and it wasn’t even full. She handed the empty treasures to her sister. “Sister, get everyone to help me strip this place bare!”
The women who were ready to leave saw Zuo Siqiu already plucking the spiritual flowers from the ground. They were suddenly invigorated, as if injected with chicken blood.
“That old thief ruined me; I won’t let him have it easy! I know where he hid the top-grade materials. Give me that storage ring, I’ll fill it up!” “Your name is Siqiu? Mudong often talks about you. I’ll help you pick the flowers.” “The spiritual fruits on this tree are ripe; that old thief was always too stingy to eat them. I’ll pick them all for you!” “Actually, we can dig up the whole tree! Plant it in our own space and it’ll bloom year-round!” “I know where there are spirit tools to dig up trees!” “That thief has storage treasures here too with stuff inside. I’ll take those and fill them up; we can take everything in this space!” “Dig up the soil too! He went to great lengths to haul this soil from a secret realm!”
Nearly a hundred women began working with one heart and mind. The idea of “stripping Bimu’s space bare” made them forget their physical pain. Everyone had only one word in their minds: Move!
Bi Zhian was dumbstruck. First, she was scared by the bizarre spiritual pill, and then she was terrified by these women. She wanted to step forward to stop them, but when she saw their tattered clothes, their crisscrossing scars, and the frantic desire for revenge in their eyes, she hesitated, not daring to move.
The other group of women who wanted to stop them were scared off by Zuo Siqiu’s explosive pills. They had been trapped here too long; they had never seen such a pill, and for a moment, they didn’t dare approach.
And so, within the Mustard Seed Space, all one could see was a hundred women frantically hauling away resources.
