- After Marrying the Delicate and Soft Omega Bunny, the Wealthy Tycoon Truly Fell in Love
- Chapter 9 - Caring for Him
Wen Yun’an blinked at his phone screen. He had not expected such an intense reaction from his friends. Once the news of his upcoming marriage was sent out, the group chat descended into complete chaos.
【Chu Zhao: I am not dreaming, right?】
【Lu Conglin: ??? Xiao An, you are only nineteen! How can you be getting married!】
【Chu Zhao: Nineteen is the age to go out and explore the world, my treasure! How can you be getting married! I do not believe it! Xiao An, say something, ahhh!】
【Chu Zhao: Who exactly is it! Which shameless Alpha is it! Our Xiao An just differentiated into an Omega, and now some ambitious, calculating, and bold person has appeared!!】
【Zheng Dongxu: Did some reckless Alpha threaten Xiao An?】
【Lu Conglin: This cannot be right. How could your brothers ever agree to this? Has that Alpha not been silenced yet?】
The news of Wen Yun’an getting married was simply too shocking.
As his friends, they all knew that Wen Yun’an’s older brothers were obsessed with protecting him. They usually guarded him as if he were the apple of their eye, and even they, despite coming from good families, were constantly scrutinized by those brothers just for being friends with Wen Yun’an.
It was not that they disapproved of marriage in principle, but with the current imbalance of Alphas outnumbering Omegas, it was a harsh reality that most Omegas became mere trophies after marriage, while scumbag Alphas grew dismissive after obtaining their precious partners.
As his close friends, they naturally did not want Wen Yun’an to become one of those Omegas.
Wen Yun’an squeezed the rabbit doll’s belly, set it aside, and began to reply earnestly.
【Wen Yun’an: It is nothing like that. My brothers know about this, and they even accompanied me to meet Mr. Huo today.】
Though they did not seem very happy about it.
【Zheng Dongxu: Mr. Huo?】
【Wen Yun’an: He is the Alpha I am going to marry.】
【Chu Zhao: Why does it sound like he is much older than us? [Smile haha.jpg] [Smile haha.jpg]】
【Wen Yun’an: No, he is only eight years older than me.】
The screen was immediately flooded with the phrase “An old cow eating tender grass.”
【Chu Zhao: Xiao An, there are not many good Alphas out there. We are just worried you will be deceived by a scumbag. Think about it, how many Omegas out there are abandoned after marriage and childbirth? It is terrifying.】
【Lu Conglin: Exactly, Alphas are all scumbags. They will break your defenses completely when you are at your weakest. It is truly terrifying.】
【Chu Zhao: Do you know how many Alphas in the academy have been asking about you since you differentiated? Alphas are just like that! Hypocritical to the extreme!】
【Zheng Dongxu: Are you guys crazy? Are you insulting yourselves in your blind rage?】
【Chu Zhao: There is no obligation not to insult them.】
Wen Yun’an: “…”
He did not understand why Alphas attacked each other like this.
His brothers were like this, and his friends were the same.
Huo Yuheng only looked a bit fierce, but he was actually a person of great principle. Was this not what people called a moral model?
Besides, Huo Yuheng was the person who promised to help treat his illness, and he was still willing to trust him. Moreover, he did not want his good friends to know that he was sick. Who would want their friends to worry?
【Wen Yun’an: So, are you guys going to attend? [Little rabbit peeking.jpg]】
After receiving a unanimous “we will definitely be there on time,” Wen Yun’an finally felt at ease.
Only one day later, the effects of the Omega suppressant wore off, and the private doctor administered another dose of the high-potency inhibitor.
His skin was delicate, and after these past few days, the back of his neck was left with red, pitiable marks from the needle injections.
Fortunately, the fever symptoms were alleviated once more, and his ears and tail stopped popping out uncontrollably, leaving only a fine sheen of sweat on his forehead.
He picked out an orange, carrot-shaped hair clip to pin back his hair, revealing his smooth, fair forehead.
The phone rang just then. It was a call from Huo Yuheng. With the wedding date approaching, he likely had something to discuss.
The Alpha’s deep voice came through the other end of the line, sounding surprisingly gentle: “What are you doing?”
Wen Yun’an pressed against his swollen gland through the adhesive patch and answered piteously: “Getting an inhibitor injection…”
He was so used to being pampered that he did not realize he was subconsciously acting spoiled when he spoke.
Huo Yuheng was silent for a moment before simply saying “Hmm.” Just as he was about to ask why Huo Yuheng had called, he heard him ask: “Does it hurt?”
It hurt! It hurt a lot! He hated getting injections! His neck did not look pretty anymore!
But seeing the pained expressions of his parents and brothers, he had only ever said it did not hurt.
Wen Yun’an: “Just a tiny, tiny bit…”
Huo Yuheng: “…” How could someone be so adorable? Even while sick, he still had to act spoiled.
Wen Yun’an did not like talking about his illness, so he changed the subject and asked softly: “Mr. Huo, is there something you need?”
Huo Yuheng finally remembered the reason for his call: “Are you free this afternoon? I will come to pick you up.”
“Yes! Do we have things to prepare?”
“We are going to pick out wedding rings.”
Huo Yuheng stood patiently by the car door. Before leaving, Wen Yun’an was saying his goodbyes to the family: “I am heading out now!”
Huo Yuheng’s thoughts were simple. Since he had decided to take care of this little rabbit, he had to do things properly.
He looked at the entrance of the Wen mansion, where his future brother-in-law stood looking at him with a forced, skin-deep smile. He then looked at his little Omega fiancée, who was about to sit obediently in his car.
A feeling of inexplicable satisfaction filled Huo Yuheng.
Once in the car, Wen Yun’an busied himself with buckling his seatbelt, adjusting his clothes, and smoothing his hair.
Huo Yuheng sat on the other side, watching him busy himself. He swept a glance at the orange carrot clip on his head, which was embedded with small crystals and wobbled as he moved. He only thought that the boy looked even more like a little rabbit.
When Wen Yun’an finished, he looked up at Huo Yuheng and blinked: “Mr. Huo, I am all ready!”
“Hmm, let us go.”
The partition between the front and back rows rose, and the curtains were drawn, completely isolating them from the driver and the secretary in the front, creating a perfect, private space in the back.
The space was cozy, and the fragrance on him began to drift toward Huo Yuheng. Huo Yuheng was genuinely curious about the brand of perfume he used; it made one feel inexplicably agitated every time they smelled it.
This was the first time they were alone together in such a quiet setting, and Wen Yun’an felt a bit awkward. He looked out the window for a while, then turned to look at Huo Yuheng, intending to ask where they were going, only to find that Huo Yuheng seemed to be watching him.
Huo Yuheng gave an unnatural cough, looked away, and spoke with a tone that betrayed no emotion: “Does it still hurt?”
Oh! So, Huo Yuheng was watching him because he was concerned!
He nodded, turned his back to Huo Yuheng, lifted the hair covering his neck, pointed to the location of his gland, and muttered a complaint: “Look, it even left marks.”
