After Marrying the Cold Omega in Secret - Chapter 80
When Chi Ye saw the gift box, a hint of surprise flickered across her face as memories from months ago suddenly became clear.
She had seen this gift bag before.
“This is…” Chi Ye hesitated, looking at Chu Jin for confirmation.
“Yes, it’s the one,” Chu Jin replied, equally surprised.
She hadn’t expected Chi Ye to still remember.
Months ago, the day after their argument, Chu Jin had met with Jiang Xu to try on the finished runway outfits.
With nothing else to do that afternoon, they had gone shopping together.
It was then that Chu Jin had picked out this gift.
Long before, she had decided to give Chi Ye something special. Even though they were in the middle of a cold war at the time, everything she saw or heard made her think of Chi Ye.
Even while shopping with Jiang Xu, her mind had been elsewhere.
It was then that Chu Jin realized, Chi Ye had quietly become an inseparable part of her life, woven into every detail, hidden in every passing moment.
So when she had stumbled upon that dress by chance, the first image in her mind was Chi Ye wearing it.
Familiar with Chi Ye’s figure, she quickly chose the right size.
The dress was expensive, but Chu Jin hadn’t hesitated when paying.
At the time, Jiang Xu had asked who it was for.
Chu Jin hadn’t hidden it, answering directly:
“For someone important.”
Jiang Xu hadn’t pressed further, though her eyes had dimmed slightly.
But Chu Jin, caught up in her own happiness, hadn’t noticed.
Chi Ye took the gift bag and carefully unwrapped the layers of packaging before finally opening the box.
Inside lay a neatly folded light beige dress.
The base layer was made of delicate silk, overlaid with a shimmering tulle embroidered with handcrafted rose-gold thread, refracting a dazzling glow under the light.
Like hazy moonlight, dreamy and romantic.
“Try it on after dinner,” Chu Jin said softly.
But Chi Ye’s gaze remained dazed before she finally looked up at Chu Jin.
“I want to try it now.”
Her eyes sparkled with an anticipation that was impossible to refuse.
But then she seemed to remember something and glanced toward the dining area. “Wait, are you hungry? If you are—”
“I’m not very hungry,” Chu Jin interjected, her expression warm as she looked at Chi Ye before raising a brow. “Shall we go upstairs?”
Chi Ye’s lips curved. “Let’s go.”
The bright lighting in the walk-in closet illuminated every detail of the dress with perfect clarity.
Chu Jin had excellent taste, the moment Chi Ye put it on, she seemed to radiate a soft glow, as if draped in rippling moonlight, shimmering and elegant.
The sleek tailoring accentuated her graceful curves, while the exquisite embroidery further highlighted her poised, refined aura.
It was the kind of beauty that inspired admiration from afar, untouchable in its allure.
Facing the mirror, Chi Ye couldn’t hide her delight.
Seeing her happiness, Chu Jin’s heart swelled with sweetness.
This was a style Chi Ye rarely wore.
Even she was astonished, who knew that beneath her usual suits, she could exude such captivating charm?
Then, Chi Ye’s gaze slowly shifted to Chu Jin’s reflection in the mirror. After a long pause, she finally spoke softly:
“Thank you.”
“What’s with the thanks?” Chu Yin took two steps forward, wrapping her arms around Chi Ye’s waist from behind. “I’ll get mad if you say thank you.”
The warm breath brushing against her neck made Chi Ye shiver slightly.
Her eyes crinkled with a smile as she glanced back at Chu Yin. “I got you a gift too.”
Chu Yin’s eyes widened in surprise.
These past few days, both of them had been swamped with work, barely finding time to rest. Aside from when Chi Ye went to the office, they’d been attending events together constantly.
She hadn’t even noticed when Chi Ye had managed to prepare a gift.
“I ordered it a long time ago,” Chi Ye said, as if reading her mind, instantly clearing Chu Yin’s confusion.
Then she led her out of the walk-in closet, and the two moved to the small sitting area.
Chi Ye bent down, picking up a small box from the table.
She opened it as she walked toward Chu Yin, stopping right in front of her before taking her hand.
Turning Chu Yin’s palm upward, Chi Ye placed what she had been holding into it.
Chu Yin was almost overwhelmed, her gaze following Chi Ye’s movements until it landed on her own hand.
With just one glance, she couldn’t help but squeeze her eyes shut and reopen them.
The sight before her didn’t change.
But she still couldn’t quite believe her eyes!
Staring at the slightly weighty car key in her palm, she scrutinized it for a few more seconds.
Ferrari!
An actual Ferrari!
A car that had always felt like an unattainable dream just from hearing its name and now its key was resting in her hand!
“I had it parked in the garage yesterday,” Chi Ye said softly. “From now on, whenever you don’t feel like having the driver take you, you can drive yourself.”
Chu Yin was still processing it.
Though her current savings could technically afford one, actually buying it was something she could never bring herself to do.
Yet Chi Ye had just casually handed it to her like it was nothing.
“What’s wrong? Don’t want it?” Chi Ye arched a brow, the corner of her eyes curving with amusement.
Chu Yin hesitated, trying to decline. “It’s too extravagant.”
“Relax, I’ve got plenty of money.” Chi Ye closed Chu Yin’s fingers around the key, making sure she held it firmly. “A single car isn’t going to bankrupt me.”
Chi Ye’s words were blunt, but undeniably true.
After all, she’d casually invested tens of millions in a variety show before.
Chu Yin’s pressed lips finally quirked up, melting into a delighted smile.
She threw her arms around Chi Ye’s, leaning her head against the crook of her neck.
Nuzzling lightly, she murmured, “Thank you, wifey!”
Her voice was sweet as honey. “Who’s lucky enough to have such an amazing wife?
Oh right, me!”
Chi Ye couldn’t suppress her smile, her heart fluttering with slight embarrassment.
Seeing Chu Yin about to shower her with more praise, she quickly changed the subject. “How about we go downstairs for dinner?”
Chu Yin released her arm, blinking. “Wifey, I thought you weren’t hungry?”
Chi Ye paused. “I was worried you might be.”
“I’m not hungry,” Chu Yin replied immediately before countering, “Are you?”
“Not hungry either,” Chi Ye answered just as swiftly.
A mischievous glint flickered in Chu Yin’s eyes as she murmured, “Actually, I am a little hungry.”
Chi Ye knew that look all too well.
“Your rut isn’t due yet.”
She averted her gaze, the tips of her ears already flushed pink.
“What if it came early?”
Chi Ye wasn’t buying that excuse.
But somehow, she still found herself being kissed into the bathroom.
The bathtub had been filled with water in advance, and with the thermostat turned on, the temperature remained comfortably warm as the two stepped in.
Through the floor-to-ceiling window beside them, the nightscape of Linhe stretched into the distance.
With the New Year approaching, scattered fireworks already bloomed in the night sky.
Chu Jin lifted Chi Ye, settling her astride her thighs.
Their bodies pressed tightly together in the water.
Chu Jin cradled the small of her back, her palm sliding down to cup the plush curve of her rear.
The sudden squeeze made Chi Ye instinctively arch slightly, rippling the water around them as their bodies melded seamlessly.
“Don’t move,” Chu Jin murmured, nipping lightly at Chi Ye’s lower lip.
Her voice was rough, thick with desire.
Chi Ye looped her arms around Chu Jin’s neck, answering her kiss.
Their tongues tangled, stirring wet, slick sounds between them.
At the same time, Chi Ye shifted slightly, guiding Chu Jin toward the center of the tub before lifting one of her legs to drape over her own. Their limbs interlaced, one above the other.
But in this position, they could no longer embrace as closely as before.
Each had to brace a hand against the edge of the tub.
The water sloshed in growing waves, spilling over the sides in cascading droplets that splashed onto the floor, shimmering under the light.
The bathwater remained pleasantly warm, but far hotter was the heat of their pressed skin.
Like kindling catching flame, it ignited their emotions, bursting forth as brilliantly as the fireworks that lit up the midnight sky shattering through the haze to bloom in dazzling radiance.
