After Losing My Memory, I Went After My Archenemy - Chapter 7
“I’m the best at dealing with an Omega in heat. Should I take care of it?”
Chi Xiao casually volunteered, but knowing it was a joke, Lin Xi clearly wasn’t going to hand the person over to her.
Lin Xi calmly picked up the thin blanket from the sofa and quickly covered the girl, who was slumped on the table, from head to toe. Then she said to Chi Xiao, “Are you done with your business?”
Chi Xiao paused. “Just finished.”
“I know where her home is. I’ll take her back first, so I won’t see you out,” Lin Xi replied.
“Uh, are you sure you can handle it? Do you really not need my help?” Chi Xiao tentatively reached out a hand but then retracted it mid-air. This was an almost instinctive reaction. Could it be that this Omega’s pheromones were affecting her too?
Lin Xi sensed her friend, a fellow Alpha, starting to have somewhat erratic pheromone fluctuations, and stated firmly once more, “I’ll handle it.”
“Then, I’m taking off! Good luck to you!”
The next second, Chi Xiao practically fled out the door.
Breathing in the fresh air outside, she couldn’t help but recall the scent from just now.
Scared, Chi Xiao quickly slapped her own face. A friend’s wife is not to be trifled with!
She secretly sighed, thinking this was indeed an extraordinary Omega. This was even with an inhibitor patch on. If it were taken off, even she might lose control.
To mask the faint scent of pheromones leaking from the girl, Lin Xi simply tore off her own inhibitor patch. She then picked up the girl, who was wrapped in the thin blanket, in a bridal carry. After ensuring the girl was thoroughly saturated with her own Alpha pheromones, she put on a new patch and headed downstairs.
“Excuse me, guest, items from our private rooms are not allowed to be taken,” the staff member at the counter stopped her in time.
Lin Xi didn’t say a word, she just pulled out a stack of cash from her pocket and placed it on the counter.
It was already dark outside, the streets were bustling and lively, with people coming and going, and a constant stream of cars.
Lin Xi hailed a taxi by the roadside. The person in her arms started to twist restlessly, letting out painful whimpers.
After a long silence, even the most outwardly aloof person couldn’t help but softly comfort her, “We’ll be home soon.”
Since she first differentiated at the age of fifteen, Xia Rou had endured a monthly heat cycle. Because the timing was fixed, she would take a day off to spend it at home, where her parents would give her the best medication to relieve the discomfort.
Uncomfortable but not yet completely unconscious, her hands fumbled through the blanket, gripping the body in front of her tightly. She whimpered pitifully and weakly, “I don’t want to go home…”
Is she afraid of being punished by her family?
Lin Xi recalled the events of the day.
“I don’t want to go home.”
The Omega’s hand, reaching through the thin blanket, tightened its grip, like a kitten drowning in water desperately striving to reach the surface, pleading with her for rescue.
It was at this moment that Lin Xi’s phone received a message from her uncle.
[Niece, this is the thing, a friend of mine came to Lulian, and I have to entertain him. I might not be home tonight, so don’t wait up for me.]
The timeliness of this message seemed like a coincidence, yet also fate.
After ten seconds of silence.
Lin Xi told the driver to change the route.
She thought she must have lost her mind, or gone crazy.
The Omega’s body continued to heat up and burn, twisting and whimpering in her arms. It wasn’t easy to forcefully suppress such temptation.
Lin Xi, who appeared composed and unruffled, had already swallowed several times in secret.
The driver was a Beta, completely unresponsive throughout, and perhaps even accustomed to such sights.
The car stopped at the alley entrance. Lin Xi carried the person out and walked inside. The streetlights in the alley were dim. A small black and white stray cat walked gracefully along the top of the wall, like a masked lady performing a tightrope walk in the night.
It was then that she faintly heard a familiar voice coming from not far ahead.
The voice sounded more and more like Shen Xuan, along with her family.
An inexplicable sense of guilt compelled Lin Xi to swiftly carry the person and dart into a narrow side alley.
She didn’t want to be seen by her friends in this situation. Otherwise, a simple matter would become hard to explain, and she was someone who dreaded trouble.
The alley was cramped, barely wide enough for one person to pass through. Consequently, Lin Xi, holding Xia Rou, was practically pressed tightly against the wall, and their bodies were close together, leaving no extra space.
Shen Xuan’s voice grew closer, almost within reach.
A bead of sweat instantly trickled down Lin Xi’s cheek, her clothes on the back becoming damp. She could even hear her heart beating violently in her chest.
“Has Dad’s skill at making sauerkraut fish declined?”
“You should blame me for this. The shop we usually go to was out of sauerkraut, so I switched to a different place. I didn’t expect the taste to be so different.”
“Then I wronged Dad! I thought he was really getting old and couldn’t tell the difference between salt and sugar anymore!”
The mother and daughter laughed together. They walked past without looking into the alley.
As their voices faded into the distance, Lin Xi finally let out a sigh of relief.
However, in the next second, due to the intense discomfort causing body tremors, the blanket that was covering Xia Rou’s head slipped off. In the dim light of the alley, their eyes met.
The air froze for a moment.
At this very moment, the Omega in heat had alluring lips and a captivating flush on her skin. Even her involuntarily trembling eyelashes expressed an immense temptation.
She met the Alpha’s gaze without any attempt to hide, even actively leaning closer.
All the surrounding noise seemed to be isolated at that instant, leaving only the sound of their intersecting breaths, heavy and urgent.
Lin Xi’s flickering eyes revealed an unnameable, complex expression. She immediately averted her gaze, preparing to leave this narrow alleyway first.
But before she could, the quick-moving Omega’s red lips were already pressed against hers, perfectly sealed onto her own.
A surge of electricity seemed to run through Lin Xi’s entire body, from the top of her head to the soles of her feet, sparing no part.
She froze there, losing both her thoughts and the ability to act.
The Omega awkwardly continued the kiss, enveloping it with a strong, pleasant, and fatally attractive gardenia pheromone scent for her, melting it together between their lips and teeth.
Lin Xi felt as if all the blood in her body rushed to her head. Even her nerve endings were screaming, dancing wildly, the suppressed fire about to break through the constraints of her reason.
Just as the other party persistently teased and demanded the kiss, the wall of resistance gradually crumbled. In that moment, Lin Xi seemed to be bewitched, turning from passive to active, aggressively and fiercely attacking the other’s soft lips, prying open her teeth, and deepening the kiss.
Two seconds later, she still managed to control herself and pull them apart. Her breathing in the alley was heavier than before.
Xia Rou, who had already lost all reason and judgment, pitifully pressed close again, constantly nudging her body to express dissatisfaction.
Lin Xi simply put her palm up to block the other’s lips, her restrained voice slightly hoarse: “You don’t want to continue this.”
