After Losing My Memory, I Went After My Archenemy - Chapter 26
On the day of departure, everyone gathered at the designated spot before boarding the bus.
Xia Rou bought coffee for everyone, and the coffee shop staff were responsible for handing it out.
Most people were happy and thanked her when they received their coffee, except for Yan Nannan, who practically had her displeasure written on her face and quietly grumbled, “What’s so great about being rich?”
“Alright, let’s put aside the past prejudice, seeing as she’s the one funding this,” a club member next to her comforted.
After the attendance was taken, everyone boarded the pre-arranged coach bus in sequence.
Xia Rou looked around and finally set her sights on the empty seat next to Lin Xi, walking straight over and sitting down without hesitation.
Because the aisle of the bus was only wide enough for one person, Yan Nannan, who was forced to follow behind her, lost the opportunity and could only watch everything happen.
“What’s wrong?” Xia Rou asked innocently, confused by the girl who was staring intensely at her.
“Nannan, sit here.”
Someone in the back row called her name. Only then did Yan Nannan withdraw her gaze and quietly walk away. The moment she sat down, she was filled with resentment.
“I know you don’t like sweets, so I specifically didn’t add sugar to your coffee. How about that, am I not thoughtful?”
The bus slowly started. Xia Rou leaned her upper body towards Lin Xi, boasting about herself.
“Fasten your seatbelt.”
Lin Xi reached out and straightened her face, which was almost touching hers, her tone as serious as a head teacher.
The Omega pouted and began to obediently fasten her seatbelt.
It was only then that Lin Xi realized what she had done, lowering her eyes to look at her hand. The soft and warm feeling of her face was still there. She couldn’t believe she had just voluntarily touched the other person’s face.
Everyone had lunch at the service area. Of course, all the expenses were covered by Xia Rou. The day before departure, she had generously handed her card to the club member responsible for coordinating the entire event, telling them not to save money for her and that the food, accommodation, and transportation should all be the best.
Just before leaving, Xia Rou went to the restroom. When she came out, she met a little girl at the door. She looked about four or five years old, standing alone, helpless and pitiful. Upon asking, she learned that the girl had gotten separated from her parents.
“Shall I help you find them, older sister?” Xia Rou gently and patiently took the little girl’s hand.
When it was time to depart, the club member who was the group leader for this trip started taking attendance. “Is there anyone who hasn’t arrived yet?”
“There shouldn’t be,” Yan Nannan answered, craning her neck from the back row.
Lin Xi, sitting in her original seat, glanced at the empty spot beside her, then stood up immediately and said, “Someone hasn’t returned. I’ll go look.”
“President, why don’t I go?” a club member near the door offered to go.
However, Lin Xi didn’t give anyone a chance, quickly getting off the bus by herself.
While waiting on the bus, everyone couldn’t help but gossip, as these two were prominent figures at the school.
“The President looks very worried about Xia Rou!”
“Exactly, I noticed that too.”
“Could it be true that Xia Rou admitted on the forum that she likes our President and is really pursuing her?”
“I’d say most likely. Why else would she go to such lengths to join our club and spend so much money inviting everyone out for this trip and photo shoot?”
“It looks like even the old rivals can’t escape the destiny of pheromones!”
“Putting aside the rumors of past discord, they actually make a great couple. They’re simply a match made in heaven!”
“Match, match, what match? Are you here to play? Have you all forgotten your respective tasks?”
Yan Nannan grew increasingly unhappy listening to the chatter. She stood up, exasperated.
The coach instantly fell silent, and the atmosphere became unusually cold.
A few seconds later, a club member in the front row secretly whispered, “You think you’re the Vice President? It’s not your place to lecture us.”
Lin Xi checked the places they had visited earlier but couldn’t find Xia Rou. As time passed, she grew anxious, and a myriad of bad possibilities flashed through her mind.
To find her, Lin Xi almost turned the entire service area upside down. Just as she was about to panic, she suddenly bumped into Xia Rou, who had appeared out of nowhere around a corner.
Seeing her safe and sound, Lin Xi felt a wave of relief and immediately pulled her over, wrapping her in a hug.
Xia Rou: “!”
The Omega’s eyes widened in shock.
“Do you know everyone was worried sick looking for you?” the Alpha whispered in her ear.
Xia Rou looked around but didn’t see anyone, only Lin Xi. So she blankly explained, “I was helping a little girl find her parents.”
Suddenly realizing something, Lin Xi loosened her grip a second later, then took a few steps back to maintain a distance.
Her expression made it look as if she had done something scandalous.
Xia Rou stared at her, not quite understanding.
She had just hugged her…
“Let’s go. Everyone is waiting.”
Dropping these words, Lin Xi quickly turned around, no longer giving any opportunity to reveal her current expression.
With Xia Rou found, the coach bus resumed its journey, finally arriving at the hotel on the mountaintop at dusk.
Regarding room assignments, Alpha and Alpha shared a room, Omega and Omega shared a room, male Alpha with male Alpha, female Alpha with female Alpha, and so on.
However, since the number of Alphas and Omegas in the club was small and most were Betas, the final allocation resulted in Lin Xi and Xia Rou each having their own room.
Everyone quickly tidied up and stored their luggage, then gathered downstairs to head to the hotel restaurant for dinner.
During dinner, everyone discussed the next day’s itinerary. After dinner, it was free time.
But in the short time it took to leave the restaurant, Xia Rou lost sight of Lin Xi. She had wanted to go upstairs with her.
The swimming pool on the first floor of the hotel was large. Xia Rou happened to have brought a swimsuit this time. After changing into a bikini in her room, she simply put on a white bath towel and went to knock on Lin Xi’s door.
The door opened, and the person was inside.
Lin Xi calmly glanced up and down at the lightly dressed Omega and asked composedly, “What is it?”
“Do you want to go for a swim in the pool downstairs?” Xia Rou enthusiastically invited.
Lin Xi realized that the pool could be completely seen from her room’s balcony.
“No, thank you.”
Rejected so directly, Xia Rou had no choice but to go alone.
Watching the Omega turn and walk away in disappointment, Lin Xi closed the door and continued organizing her photography equipment. After some time, a thought occurred to her, and she pushed open the balcony door and stepped outside on an impulse.
It was completely dark by now, but the hotel interior was still brightly lit, and the pool downstairs was very lively.
Her gaze scanned the crowd, quickly locking onto the fair-skinned, curvaceous, and attractive Omega.
She was not only a special presence easily seen by Lin Xi but also in the eyes of others.
In just this short moment of observation, Lin Xi noticed many unwelcome gazes fixed on her, either staring intently or with a playful, suggestive smile.
Swimming alone got boring, so Xia Rou decided to get out of the water to rest and had a server bring her a drink.
A middle-aged man walked up to her and greeted her, “Xia Rou, it really is you!”
Xia Rou was momentarily stunned before recognizing the person in front of her. He was a business partner of her father. She politely greeted him:
“Uncle Wang.”
“Are you out playing alone?”
“No, I’m with my classmates,” Xia Rou said.
“It’s only been a few years, but you’ve grown up so much. You look more and more like a young woman.”
The man smiled, and his gaze seemed to be fixed on her chest, looking at her without restraint.
Xia Rou felt a sudden sense of awkwardness and restlessness, about to find an excuse to leave. The next second, a bath towel was timely placed over her, covering all the parts that invited speculation.
The Omega looked up in surprise. Lin Xi had appeared there at some point, looking serious, aloof, yet full of security.
