Wangshu Immortal Venerable, Wen Pinglan, was renowned for being cold, aloof, and noble.
On a snowy night, he had once saved the young Ling Rong, taught him with painstaking care, and regarded him as his most prized disciple.
However, when Ling Rong stole the study of forbidden arts and became tainted with demonic energy, Wen Pinglan, in a fit of uncontrollable rage, personally sent him to the execution platform, pierced his chest with a single sword stroke, and discarded him in the mass grave.
When they met again, Ling Rong had become the Demon Venerable, feared by all. He imprisoned Wen Pinglan in the Demon Palace, keeping him by his side through extreme and brutal means.
Wen Pinglan hated everything Ling Rong did; he was disgusted to the core, especially after being forced into an intimate relationship through Ling Rong’s machinations.
But he did not know that everything Ling Rong did was for his sake. He did not know that Ling Rong had learned forbidden arts and gouged out his own immortal veins to draw away the demonic energy just to save him, willingly falling into the demonic path; nor did he know that Ling Rong silently endured the soul-corroding backlash of the poison, all to ensure Wen Pinglan’s safety.
It was not until after Ling Rong died that Wen Pinglan finally learned the truth.
He was consumed with regret, yet there was nothing he could do…
Years later, he encountered a young boy who bore a striking resemblance to Ling Rong.
Seeing that the boy’s gestures and behaviors were exactly the same as his former beloved disciple, Wen Pinglan went mad.
This time, he refused to lose the person he loved again.
He held the boy tightly in his arms, his voice tearing at his lungs: “Don’t leave me…”
The boy looked at Wen Pinglan and raised a pale, smiling face: “Master, your disciple has returned.”
