After Joining the Game, She Came Out as Gay [Infinite] - Chapter 18.1
A cycle of the world is divided into four Yugas: Satya Yuga (or Krita Yuga), Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga.
Briefly summarized, they are:
One, The Yuga of Happiness (First Yuga);
Two, The Yuga of Multiple Governance (Second Yuga);
Three, The Yuga of War (Third Yuga);
Four, The Yuga of Destruction (Fourth Yuga).
The Yuga of Happiness is easy to understand. True to its name, under the divine power and generosity of God, all of humanity exists in a period of peace and happiness. There are no conflicts, no rebellions, no pain, and no sorrow. Everyone is filled with joy. There is no separation between the material and spiritual worlds; people do not even feel the flow of time. It is the ideal Utopia.
In the Yuga of Multiple Governance, humans gradually developed redundant thoughts, and the material and spiritual worlds were no longer one. Based on the survival of the fittest, classes were divided, and opposition emerged. It became social normalcy for those of lower status to obey those of higher status. Of course, the one standing forever at the highest peak is, naturally, God.
The Yuga of War, as the name implies, followed the escalation of human desire. Those of lower status were no longer willing to be ruled or driven by those above them, leading to disputes and finally escalating into war. The class order also collapsed accordingly; while hierarchical relationships still existed, they were no longer characterized by absolute obedience, but rather a state where effort expected a reward.
In the Yuga of Destruction, when humans (or sentient beings) blinded by profit are gradually submerged by personal desire, the world begins to head toward chaos. Order becomes muddled, and violence runs rampant. Everyone is dominated by fear and despair, and disordered, lawless slaughter becomes the world’s normalcy—until the entirety of human civilization collapses. All spiritual bodies vanish, placing this era in direct opposition to the Yuga of Happiness. Finally, this “malignant tumor” filled with human negativity is excised (purged) by God. God uses a catastrophic Great Flood as punishment to wash the world polluted by human evil and purify (extinguish) the sinful entity that is humanity. However, a small number of humans and animals who are particularly outstanding and possess positive energy are permitted to board Noah’s Ark to continue their species.
The world then cycles back to the first period (Satya Yuga).
Survival Game: Yuga Enabled
Based on the completion status and performance of each group in the first stage, the Love Game, the Yuga period for the second game venue is decided.
Group C
Qi Cheng & Xia Lin
- Fastest completion of the Love Game √
- Broke the record for the fastest completion of the Love Game √
Combined with Qi Cheng and Xia Lin’s performance in the game, they are qualified to go to the First Yuga.
Due to suspicion that Qi Cheng manipulated the direction of Group C’s ending, a downgrade has been applied. The second game venue is finalized as the Second Yuga.
Nie Siya & Kuang Liao
- Broke the Love Game completion record √
Nie Siya performed excellently and is qualified for the First Yuga.
However, because her lover Kuang Liao’s performance was unsatisfactory, a downgrade has been applied. The second game venue is finalized as the Second Yuga.
Ni Qian & Yu Feihang
Performance was poor; their final victory in Group C was due to being manipulated. The second game venue is finalized as the Fourth Yuga.
(Number of past participants in the Fourth Yuga who qualified for Noah’s Ark: 0.)
—Salvation or sanction, both lie within a single thought of God. —God is benevolent; it is Great Love. Humans must not excessively demand God’s mercy and personal care (Small Love).
Exiting the teleportation array, the view ahead suddenly opened up.
Qi Cheng and Xia Lin found themselves in a dense forest.
The vegetation was lush, giant trees reached the sky, verdant and thick.
On the branches, birds chirped like the clinking of jade pendants, a scene of total tranquility.
That damn panda was gone.
In its place, rows of flashing arrows appeared on the level ground, pointing forward.
Xia Lin and Qi Cheng glanced at each other, but neither followed the arrows.
“…God?” Xia Lin called out loudly.
But only the sound of birds flapping their wings echoed back.
“It seems God returned to the first game venue after sending us to the second,” Xia Lin sighed.
“Qi Cheng, what do you think about what God just said?”
“Hmph,” Qi Cheng let out a light laugh. “That big liar.”
“So God really was lying.”
Xia Lin had felt it too.
When Qi Cheng asked the God of Love who had been eliminated from Group C, his voice was too calm and rippleless when he answered—it was unnaturally calm.
Based on their understanding of the God of Love, if Qi Cheng had truly guessed wrong, given his annoying personality, he definitely would have mocked Qi Cheng mercilessly.
And it would have been the extremely exaggerated kind of mockery.
“Rather than saying he was lying, it’s more that the guy didn’t answer my question directly at all.” Qi Cheng’s eyes narrowed slightly.
In response to Qi Cheng’s question, the God of Love said only two things: The others are still at the first game venue. Only you two were the first to pass.
“The term ‘others’ is too broad; it doesn’t necessarily refer specifically to the seven of us. And his second sentence, ‘only you two were the first to pass’—that’s a fact, but it doesn’t answer my question. Regardless of whether the rest successfully passed the Love Game, we are indeed the ones who passed first.”
“Did God deliberately use those words to mislead us because he wanted to create a sense of anxiety? But I don’t understand; even if we guessed wrong, it wouldn’t be a great loss for us,” Xia Lin said. “Our advance planning was just a ‘possibility,’ not an ‘absolute.’ Now, it’s just shifted from planning for possible situations to a ‘soldiers come to block, water comes to cover’ [improvised] situation. There’s really no great meaning in God doing this.”
It couldn’t possibly affect their state of mind.
Because the subsequent stages were unknown to them anyway.
If a change suddenly occurred in a known situation, that would indeed bring a certain amount of psychological pressure and influence.
Qi Cheng held up two fingers and said, “People can be roughly divided into two types: one type only does things that have meaning; the second type does things regardless of whether they have meaning. The panda clearly belongs to the second type. Moreover, for him, sowing the seeds of chaos is a form of pleasure. Whether they bloom or bear fruit isn’t important; he just enjoys the process of sowing. Even if we didn’t fall for it, there’s no loss for him.”
This way of thinking was what Xia Lin found hardest to understand.
Qi Cheng pointed at the arrows on the ground and said, “I saw these arrows when I first arrived in the Divine Realm. They should be signposts guiding us to the game venue. Walk behind me, and stay alert to your surroundings while we move. Maintain vigilance.”
Xia Lin nodded.
The entire way, Qi Cheng was extremely cautious, constantly noticing changes in the surroundings. If there was even the slightest rustle, Qi Cheng would immediately stop and shield Xia Lin behind her.
Only after confirming there was no danger would she continue forward.
Furthermore, throughout the walk, Qi Cheng paid particular attention to the existence of traps.
Xia Lin couldn’t help but secretly admire her, while also wondering what kind of world she had lived in previously to have developed such a personality and set of skills.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, a log cabin appeared in their field of vision.
Under the cabin stood a clean-cut youth; his flowing silver hair and a pair of radiant six-winged wings were particularly striking.
“Welcome to the second game venue.” The youth looked toward them. “I am the supervisor in charge of the second stage, the ‘Excavation Game,’ the God of Beauty. Please guide me.”
The youth bowed very gentlemanly, forcing Qi Cheng and Xia Lin to return the gesture.
“P-please guide us too,” Qi Cheng and Xia Lin said in unison.
“First, let me inform you of the rules for passing the Excavation Game. Take a look at the scene ahead.” The God of Beauty pointed to the end of the path.
They were currently standing atop a precipice.
The cliff wasn’t high, but it was absolutely impossible to climb by human strength alone.
At the bottom of the valley was a large-scale excavation site. Tunnels, mining carts, cranes, and other facilities were all present.
Various demi-human species were working hard under the direction of a gnome wearing a safety helmet.
Qi Cheng & Xia Lin: …
It was full of demi-humans—lizardmen, elves, beastmen, skeletal undead, and other races appeared one after another. It looked a bit like an RPG. However, there wasn’t a single human.
Even someone as intelligent as Qi Cheng was a bit dazed seeing this scene.
She completely failed to get what the point of passing this game was.
The God of Beauty said, “This is a simulated management mine established by the God of Calamity. In words you humans can understand: the demi-humans below are all NPCs. What you need to do is become a member of the miners.”
The God of Beauty picked up two pieces of paper from the wooden table behind him and handed them to the two. On them were the rules of the Excavation Game, handwritten in brush calligraphy.
Excavation Game Completion Rules
Love Game rules are inherited, meaning the effects of [Divorce] remain valid in this game.
Since no participants from other groups will join this stage, if you [Divorce], you will not be able to use [Remarriage] with other participants until after the third stage begins (of course, if the original pair reconciles during this stage, it will take effect immediately).
Successfully activating the displacement teleportation array will complete this game stage.
There are two ways to activate the displacement teleportation array: 1. Kill the Manager; 2. Oust the Manager.
There are no restrictions on the method used to kill the Manager. However, when the Manager’s HP drops to 1, he will lock onto the first target that attacked him and perish together with them (if the locked target is a participant, it is GAME OVER).
If Spouse A perishes with the Manager (GAME OVER), Spouse B will not be implicated. That is, B will not lose their qualification because of A’s GAME OVER. B may pass through the displacement teleportation array. However, if B does not pair with a new spouse before the end of the third stage, B will reach a GAME OVER.
To oust the Manager, one must rise through the ranks from an entry-level miner based on performance. The performance conditions must be obtained by the participants through their own involvement in the game.
In this game, participants have HP. When HP reaches 0, it is also GAME OVER, so please be careful.
In this game, all NPCs have Favorability. Special information or special items can be obtained by maximizing Favorability.
NPCs are not participants; therefore, the Love Game rule [Violence Prohibited] does not apply to NPCs.
Since human physical stats are lower than those of demi-humans, to prevent participants from working themselves to death and causing HP to reach 0, Mimicry Potions are provided. By adding the blood of a certain race, one can transform into that race (permanently effective).
God will only provide the Mimicry Potion once. If you need to change to another race, please find a way to obtain the potion or the refining recipe yourselves.
The Excavation Game has no time limit.
…The rules were so long.
Seeing the brush, ink, paper, and inkstone on the table, could it be that this angel had written the rules right then and there?
The brushwork was vigorous and the ink penetrated the paper. These characters were truly beautiful.
“You understand the rules now, right?” The God of Beauty looked at them. “If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask before the game begins.”
Xia Lin was startled. “Can we not consult you after the game starts?”
The God of Beauty shook his head. “This is a singularity created by the God of Calamity. Although they are NPCs, they are ‘alive’ within this space. Everyone here has a role. The God of Calamity is the chairman of this ‘Hallelujah Mining Co., Ltd.,’ and I, being at the game venue, also have a corresponding role. In terms of rank, I am several positions higher than the Manager you need to deal with.”
He pointed to the two mining helmets on the table. “And you two are at the lowest level.”
Understood—it wouldn’t be appropriate for a high-ranking official to be ordered around by the bottom-tier employees.
