After I Transmigrated into the Novel, I made the Heroine Fall for Me - Chapter 56
Last night was brimming with the vitality of spring.
In the blink of an eye, summer’s heat arrived.
Fang Qingying sat slumped at the dining table, nibbling on a piece of bread like a wilted flower, her waist sore. With each bite, she shot resentful glances at Gu Shengxiao, who sat across from her looking utterly satisfied.
Every bite seemed as though she were gnawing on the other woman herself.
If she had known that the “reward” Gu Shengxiao mentioned last night would turn out like this, Fang Qingying would have run as far away as possible.
Her long lashes fluttered slightly, her slightly swollen red lips exuding a sensual allure. With delicate, jade-like fingers, she slowly tore off a strip of bread and glanced at Gu Shengxiao before handing it to her.
Gu Shengxiao wasn’t sitting far just right beside her.
Gu Shengxiao’s eyes flickered as she looked at the bread strip held to her lips, her lashes fluttering with the motion.
“Here,” Fang Qingying nudged the bread strip closer to her mouth, urging her to eat it quickly.
Gu Shengxiao studied her for a moment before grabbing her wrist, leaning down to take a bite of the bread.
Then, she ate it piece by piece before finally nipping at Fang Qingying’s fingertip.
Her warm tongue swept over the other’s finger as if savoring ice cream.
Fang Qingying’s eyes twitched, and she immediately tried to pull her wrist back.
Wasn’t this gesture just too provocative?
It inevitably made her recall last night’s events, and the memory only soured her mood further. Her waist still ached faintly, it felt as though it had nearly been broken by the other woman.
“L-Let go,” Fang Qingying forced out, trying to sound authoritative despite the tremor in her voice.
But there was no intimidation to be found only a soft, coquettish whimper.
Gu Shengxiao straightened up, raising an eyebrow as if asking, What else have you got?
This only infuriated Fang Qingying further. She bit into her bread silently, refusing to speak. Even after wiping her hand, she could still feel the lingering warmth and sensation on her fingers.
The curtains fluttered by the windowsill as sunlight spilled across the floor, casting their intertwined shadows, a picture of tranquil serenity.
Fang Qingying took a sip of milk, leaving a faint white mustache on her upper lip. She licked it clean with a sweep of her tongue.
Half a glass of milk remained. She stared at it in silence before pushing it toward Gu Shengxiao.
“Here, I’ll treat you to some milk,” she said.
Gu Shengxiao disliked plain milk, she claimed it had a fishy aftertaste.
Fang Qingying admitted she was deliberately trying to make Gu Shengxiao drink it.
Who told her to torment me like that last night? And calling it a “reward”?
Pfft, whoever wants it can have it!
888: Then should she go find someone else?
Seizing the perfect moment to intervene, 888 immediately fired back at Fang Qingying, exacting revenge for being muted the night before.
Last night, it had been happily spectating, marveling at how the two had finally gotten together. But Fang Qingying, in her pettiness, had thrown it into a digital blackout for the entire night.
If not for Fang Qingying’s audition this morning, it might still be trapped in that virtual prison.
Fang Qingying: Are you her system or mine?
She was furious. Not only did she have a system in her head, but it was also utterly useless. Worse, instead of supporting her, it loved to provoke her.
888: Yours.
Just happens to enjoy teasing you~
Gu Shengxiao watched her for a long time, completely unaware that the reason Fang Qingying was distracted was because she was chatting with 888. Instead, she thought Fang Qingying was upset because she didn’t want to drink the milk.
She sighed. Fine, it was just plain milk, wasn’t it?
The award-winning actress, dressed in loose pajamas, stood up from her seat. As she took Fang Qingying’s hand, her high ponytail brushed over her shoulder and fell near her wrist.
She bent down and took a sip from the cup.
The moment it touched her lips, she frowned, seemingly disgusted by the strong taste of the plain milk.
Then, under Fang Qingying’s bewildered gaze, she pressed her lips against those that had captivated her the night before.
“Mmm!!!”
Fang Qingying’s eyes widened, reflecting Gu Shengxiao’s face, too shocked to utter a single word.
“It’s quite sweet,” Gu Shengxiao straightened up, looking at Fang Qingying’s flushed face with a teasing smile. “Do you like it, Xiao Ying?”
“I don’t like it at all!” Fang Qingying retorted stubbornly, her voice laced with indignation.
Wasn’t she supposed to be the one teasing Gu Shengxiao? How did it end up with Gu Shengxiao relentlessly teasing her instead?
This wasn’t fair.
Gu Shengxiao shrugged nonchalantly, her tone dripping with mischief. “Oh? Then maybe I should ask someone else if they like it?”
The words instantly reminded Fang Qingying of what 888 had told her, making her so angry that her eyes reddened.
She reached out and grabbed the loose collar of Gu Shengxiao’s pajamas, pulling her down until they were face to face. Fang Qingying glared at her and enunciated each word, “You wouldn’t dare.”
Gu Shengxiao smirked but before she could respond, she felt her lips being bitten.
The act of pure retaliation only made it all the more enticing.
Her gaze lowered, sweeping over Fang Qingying’s nightgown. The exposed milky skin was now flushed with a rosy hue.
Perhaps sensing the intensity of Gu Shengxiao’s stare, Fang Qingying released her grip and glared up at her fiercely. “I forbid it.”
After a pause, she blinked and added, “You’re mine.”
She absolutely couldn’t go looking for someone else!
Hearing this, Gu Shengxiao’s lips curled into an unconscious smile. She nodded. “I’m yours. No one can take me away.”
Satisfied, Fang Qingying let go of her collar and happily finished the remaining milk.
As she swallowed the last sip, Gu Shengxiao bent down, scooped her up, and took her place on the chair.
“Are you full, Xiao Ying?” Gu Shengxiao asked, her fingers lightly tracing Fang Qingying’s cheek.
Fang Qingying blinked, suddenly sensing something amiss. Her hands, resting on Gu Shengxiao’s shoulders, twitched as if to escape, but she found her waist firmly held in place.
“ I’m not full yet,” she stammered.
“As an artist, Xiao Ying, you need to learn to control your intake and exercise,” Gu Shengxiao murmured, resting her head on Fang Qingying’s shoulder.
Fang Qingying nearly cried. “I don’t want to exercise right now.”
She regretted it.
Being an award-winning actress wasn’t just handed to her, it came with a price.
“Be good.”
Gu Shengxiao buried her face in Fang Qingying’s neck, nipping lightly.
Expecting someone who had tasted indulgence to go back to abstinence? Not a chance.
“N-no! I can’t,” Fang Qingying gritted her teeth, struggling to resist the overwhelming temptation.
Everywhere Gu Shengxiao’s fingers trailed felt like sparks igniting a wildfire, leaving her so heated she wished she could dive into a lake to cool off.
A chill touched her shoulder, quickly replaced by a wave of warmth.
Fang Qingying’s eyes were misty, the corners tinged with red as she nuzzled against Gu Shengxiao’s neck with soft murmurs.
The two were like swans with entwined necks, inseparable.
Just as both were lost in the moment, Fang Qingying’s phone suddenly rang from the living room.
“Xiao , Xiao, the phone.”
Her words came out in broken gasps as she pushed lightly at Gu Shengxiao, signaling her to stop.
Gu Shengxiao grumbled, “Ignore it.”
“N-no! I still have an audition.” Fang Qingying shook her head and pushed at her again.
Frowning, Gu Shengxiao withdrew her hand, lifted the weakened Fang Qingying into her arms, and strode purposefully toward the living room.
Fang Qingying sat on the sofa, panting slightly like a fish long deprived of water.
After a while, the call ended from ringing too long, only to start again seconds later.
Fang Qingying picked up the phone.
“Hello, Brother Xie?”
“Did you just wake up?”
Perhaps due to what had just transpired, Fang Qingying’s voice was slightly hoarse, as if she had indeed just woken up.
Hearing this, she couldn’t help but shoot a coquettish glare at Gu Shengxiao.
“Mmm, just woke up.”
What else could she do but go along with the assumption?
“I’ll be waiting downstairs at 9:30. You have an hour to get ready. We have an audition at 10, don’t forget.”
Shen Lixie quickly finished his sentence and hung up.
Fang Qingying set down her phone. It was 8:30 in the morning, and she had woken up just before 8.
Gu Shengxiao sat beside her, ruffling her hair as she asked, “Which role is the audition for?”
“Director Xu’s Legend of Su Yue I think it’s for the Flower Palace Mistress. Director Liu said it suits me well.” Fang Qingying wrapped her arms around Gu Shengxiao, leaning against her as she spoke leisurely.
Gu Shengxiao thought about the Flower Palace Mistress in Legend of Su Yue and suddenly laughed. “It really does suit you.”
If acting skills weren’t required, Fang Qingying’s naturally stunning face alone would make everyone else pale in comparison for the role.
Fang Qingying pinched the soft flesh at Gu Shengxiao’s waist in displeasure. “Hmph, are you laughing at my lack of acting skills?”
“Ow.” Gu Shengxiao caught her hand, pouting pitifully.
“Hmph, serves you right for mocking me.” Fang Qingying lifted her chin, clearly unhappy.
Even though Director Liu had praised her improvement, this woman still insisted she had no acting skills.
Truthfully, Fang Qingying knew she wasn’t skilled, but no one else’s remarks bothered her only Gu Shengxiao’s.
“Then, Xiao Ying, won’t you act out a scene with me?” Gu Shengxiao lowered her head to kiss the corner of her lips, her eyes curving like a mischievous little fox who had gotten her way.
Fang Qingying took one look at her expression and immediately refused. “No.”
Unfortunately, a certain domineering actress had no intention of hearing rejection she only wanted to hear what she liked.
She flipped Fang Qingying onto the sofa, leaning down to whisper by her ear, “We’ve never tried the sofa before. If it’s not soft enough, shall we switch?”
Fang Qingying’s eyes widened, her fingers clutching Gu Shengxiao’s clothes tightly, as if she couldn’t believe such shameless words had come from her mouth.
Of course, she knew how soft her sofa was doing she really need Gu Shengxiao to test it out for her?
“Looks like Xiao Ying agrees with my idea too,” Gu Shengxiao said casually, leaving Fang Qingying no room to refuse.
Fang Qingying pushed at her with all her might. “No, I still have an audition to go to!”
The marks on her neck had only just begun to fade, and now this person was scheming to deepen them again, how utterly shameless!
Gu Shengxiao murmured vaguely, “I’ll let you go to the audition.”
Fang Qingying stared at her, wanting to be angry but finding herself unable.
All the words swirling in her mind condensed into just one sentence.
“I don’t believe a word you say.”
Any other retorts Fang Qingying might have had were swallowed back, left unspoken.
On the dark-colored sofa, two hands intertwined tightly, fingers laced together.
