After I Died, My Childhood Friend Became Daddy - Chapter 26
Chapter 26: I’m Digging In
Everything was ready. Fang Ran, putting on quite a show, somehow produced two candles and placed them on the table. After lighting them, he trotted over to turn off the lights.
He pulled out a chair and was about to sit down when he suddenly looked up. Opposite the table, the man sat upright. Under the flickering candlelight, his dark eyes looked like a pool of thick ink.
Fang Ran’s heart skipped a beat.
No, something wasn’t right.
Why did he look like a male ghost?
Fang Ran licked his lips, hesitated as he stood back up, and finally blew out the candles and turned the lights back on.
Mm, looks much better now.
Huo Yan watched Fang Ran’s every move in silence. Once the boy finally sat down, he poured the wine and handed it to Fang Ran, only for Fang Ran to push it back exactly as it was.
“I’m not drinking today.” Fang Ran looked at Huo Yan with bright eyes. “You drink, you drink. I’ll just have juice.”
Huo Yan raised an eyebrow slightly, but he didn’t say anything. He took Fang Ran’s glass and tilted his head back for a sip.
Fang Ran encouraged him, “Drink a bit more.”
Huo Yan paused, then drained the rest of the glass.
Fang Ran’s eyes curved, looking very happy as he diligently continued to pour more wine for Huo Yan.
His little scheme was seen through at a glance, but Huo Yan didn’t expose him. Instead, he pushed the sliced steak toward Fang Ran.
He didn’t ruin the mood by asking about grades or anything of the sort. Instead, he asked Fang Ran where he wanted to go. “I happen to have some free time recently. Do you want to go abroad for a trip?”
This was a very skillful way of asking.
He didn’t ask if Fang Ran had made plans with classmates; he simply took it as a given, as if it were only natural for the two of them to travel together.
Fang Ran indeed didn’t catch the trap and nodded dizzily. “Okay, okay!”
Huo Yan curled his lips and served more food to Fang Ran.
The atmosphere was momentarily very harmonious.
However, both were harboring their own thoughts, though neither spoke them aloud.
Fang Ran’s eyes remained glued to the wine bottle. More than half the bottle was gone—why did it seem like Huo Yan had no reaction at all?
Is he drunk or not?
Fang Ran was already getting full just from drinking juice.
Sensing Fang Ran’s constant gaze, Huo Yan deliberately raised a hand to press his temple and sighed. “My head is a bit dizzy.”
Fang Ran’s eyes lit up, and he quickly leaned over. “Did you drink too much? Do you want me to help massage your head?”
Huo Yan nodded with inward pleasure.
Fang Ran immediately acted like a puppy, eagerly leaning in. He stood behind Huo Yan, reaching out his hands to massage the man’s temples.
Huo Yan closed his eyes slightly, his voice very soft. “Ranran, can you tell me now?”
Fang Ran was nervously composing his words in his head when he suddenly heard Huo Yan speak. It startled him, and he asked tensely, “What?”
Huo Yan opened his eyes, reached back to grasp Fang Ran’s wrist, and pulled the boy in front of him. His gaze was heavy as he looked at him. “The person Ranran likes—who exactly is it?”
Fang Ran held his breath instantly.
Wait, aren’t you going to give a person time to prepare?
He swallowed softly. “I…”
He couldn’t get a word out for a long time.
No, he was too nervous.
If he had known, he would have taken a couple of sips of wine too.
Finally, he gritted his teeth and simply plopped down onto Huo Yan’s lap. The man was rarely stunned for a moment. In the next second, Fang Ran leaned in and kissed Huo Yan directly on the cheek.
The wet, soft lips pressed against Huo Yan’s face; the man’s eyes widened slightly.
Fang Ran’s heart was thumping so hard it felt like it was about to jump out of his throat.
He struggled to calm himself down. “A-Yan, I… I like you.”
Once those words were out, the surroundings fell silent instantly.
Fang Ran was nearly dying of nervousness, constantly thinking about what to do if Huo Yan rejected him. Should he cry? No, no, no, that would be too losing face. He had to act very broad-minded. Ha! Reject me if you want! There are plenty of fish in the sea—mph!
Huo Yan suddenly pinched Fang Ran’s chin and kissed him forcefully.
In comparison, Fang Ran’s kiss just now was like children playing house.
This time Fang Ran wasn’t drunk; he was completely sober, watching with wide eyes as his “good brother” pinched his chin with one hand while sliding his tongue into his mouth.
Fang Ran’s eyes grew round.
Huo Yan kissed fiercely, with an air of urgency and impatience. It was so intense it felt as if he wanted to eat Fang Ran whole.
The temperature around them was rising.
Fang Ran felt as if he were a piece of cream cake, melting bit by bit, destined to turn into a puddle of cream sooner or later.
Huo Yan’s hand, which was originally around Fang Ran’s waist, moved up inch by inch, sliding under the hem of his shirt. The man’s palm was broad and scorching, pressing against Fang Ran’s back like a branding iron.
Fang Ran almost couldn’t breathe.
Fortunately, Huo Yan still had a shred of conscience and finally let him go. Fang Ran gasped for air, the corners of his eyes flushed red like a rabbit’s, shimmering with a layer of tears.
Huo Yan leaned in, his forehead against Fang Ran’s, seeming to sigh yet also appearing to smile. His voice trembled slightly. “Baby, I’m so happy. Baby, you don’t know…”
You don’t know how much I love you; you don’t know how long I’ve struggled to hold onto this distorted love.
As if he could no longer endure it, Huo Yan picked Fang Ran up and walked toward the stairs.
Under extreme excitement, he felt a sense of dizziness in his brain. Lately, he had been deliberately reducing the dosage of his psychiatric medication, but having taken them for years, it would be a lie to say they had no impact on his body. The most obvious point was an increase in desire.
Before Fang Ran returned, Huo Yan loathed such matters, resolving them hastily and only by relying on Fang Ran’s old photos. Since Fang Ran’s return, he had become a professional thief—stealing clothes, stealing underwear—and finally, he had ascended to the heavens by sleeping in the same bed as Fang Ran.
But they had never reached the final step.
While going upstairs, Fang Ran felt it. He hadn’t even recovered from the shock just now before another massive wave hit him.
No way, this is too fast.
Fang Ran instinctively tried to hide, but Huo Yan held him firmly to the bed, eyes lowered, staring at him with a dark, heavy gaze. His voice was slightly raspy. “Is it okay, baby?”
As if the world were spinning, their posture became what it was now. But the person in front of him was Huo Yan his childhood friend. Since they had just exchanged their feelings, how could Fang Ran refuse him?
So… what should they do next? Rub against each other?
Fang Ran pretended to know what he was doing and nodded with a generous air.
Huo Yan smiled with great pleasure.
He lowered his head, speaking in a coaxing tone. “So well-behaved, baby.”
His pants were pulled off at some unknown point, and Fang Ran was flipped over like a fried egg. It was only then that he realized something was wrong; it seemed different from what he had imagined.
He began to struggle in a panic. “Wait, A-Yan…”
Was he joking?
How could Huo Yan let him run at a time like this? He pressed down harder on Fang Ran’s waist and suddenly lowered his head, biting the small of his back.
“I haven’t eaten dinner yet.”
Huo Yan spoke indistinctly. “I’m digging in.”
