Chapter 23: Do You Have Someone You Like?
The junior was very enthusiastic and added Fang Ran on WeChat. “I’ll send you a compressed file; it’s all the ‘good stuff.’ Go back and watch it in secret. Remember to type with both hands to prove your innocence when the time comes.”
Fang Ran’s face flushed, and he stammered, “O-okay.”
The two didn’t plan to stay long; after all, they still had homework.
But when a person is down on their luck, even drinking cold water gets stuck in their teeth.
Just as they stepped out of the private room, a fight broke out in the room next door. Beer bottles were flying everywhere, and a crowd was shouting and brawling. Since the basement was small to begin with, a bottle suddenly came flying toward them, nearly smashing into Fang Ran’s head.
The junior quickly grabbed him and ducked back inside.
Closing the door to the room, Fang Ran leaned against the doorframe, his face a bit pale. “What… what do we do?”
The junior forced himself to stay calm. “It’s fine, minor issue. We’ll wait until they finish fighting out there before we leave.”
“Does… this happen often?”
“Don’t worry, I’m a regular. It’ll definitely be fine.”
A moment later, someone called the police.
The two were still unaware, huddled in the room clutching their backpacks and snacking on melon seeds.
Until there was a “dong dong dong” knock at the door.
The junior quickly turned to open it, only to be met by several police officers.
Originally, the police had responded to a report of a brawl, but upon arrival, they suspected the place might also be providing illicit services. They decided to take everyone back for questioning.
Fang Ran had never encountered anything like this. His eyes were red, and his voice trembled slightly. “We didn’t do anything bad. At most, we just looked at some muscles… no, no, no, we didn’t even touch them.”
the officer chuckled. “You kids really know how to cause trouble. Come with us; let your guardians come pick you up.”
…
It was all over!
Fang Ran and the junior were led back to the police station in a daze.
Fang Ran truly wanted to die right then and there.
Guardians…
His guardian was none other than Huo Yan.
He had just lied to the man, and now he had been “arrested” and needed to be picked up. Fang Ran couldn’t even imagine how ugly Huo Yan’s expression would be.
Wuu…
Fang Ran inexplicably thought back to the last time they went to the hot springs when Huo Yan got angry and pinned him down to spank his butt; a sense of impending doom welled up in his heart.
He withered away, shrinking into a corner, waiting for someone to fetch him.
Not long after the call, Huo Yan pushed open the door and walked in. He was wearing a long black trench coat, appearing hurried, his brow looking cold. He instinctively scanned the room until he saw Fang Ran curled into a ball in the corner, and only then did he breathe a slight sigh of relief.
The secretary followed beside him, handling the paperwork. An officer smiled. “Go back and educate your younger brother properly. We checked the surveillance whoa, two students ordering five or six men. You guys are something else.”
The officer had a loud voice, and Fang Ran heard him clearly. He was so ashamed he couldn’t even lift his head.
Huo Yan lowered his eyes, his expression unreadable for a moment, though a faint chill seemed to emanate from him.
He had Fang Ran’s location on his phone, so of course he knew where he had gone. Ranran was truly being naughty now, even starting to lie to him.
But from start to finish, Huo Yan didn’t say anything. As he took Fang Ran’s hand to lead him out, he simply took off his coat and draped it over Fang Ran’s shoulders.
Fang Ran was already feeling guilty; seeing this, he didn’t dare utter a word and followed obediently behind Huo Yan.
The junior chased after them.
“Um…”
The two stopped in their tracks at the same time.
Huo Yan’s expression was already very grim. His cold gaze fell on the junior, who winced but braced himself to speak. “Um, don’t fight when you get back. I was the one who took Senior Fang Ran there. And even though we ordered many male models, we really didn’t do anything.”
Fang Ran cast him a grateful look.
Huo Yan said nothing, merely put an arm around Fang Ran to bring him into his embrace and turned to lead him away.
He hadn’t called a driver today because of the emergency; the secretary was driving. By now, the secretary had very tactfully taken the driver’s seat and even raised the partition in advance.
In reality, Huo Yan wasn’t that furious.
First, he knew where Fang Ran was ahead of time. Second, based on his understanding of Fang Ran, he didn’t think Fang Ran would do anything truly excessive.
But that didn’t stop Huo Yan from feeling a frustrated, nagging irritation.
As the car started, Fang Ran stole a cautious glance at Huo Yan and muttered softly, “I’m sorry…”
Huo Yan gave him a chilly look. “Our Ranran is really moving up in the world—learning how to lie and how to order male models.”
Fang Ran lowered his head in shame.
Huo Yan reached out and gently pinched the back of Fang Ran’s neck. He didn’t use force, but the gesture was highly controlling. His voice was flat. “So naughty. Were the male models’ muscles nice to touch?”
Fang Ran tried desperately to defend himself. “No, no, no, I didn’t touch them.”
“Didn’t touch them?”
Huo Yan’s voice was cool as he asked, “Then what did you go there for?”
Fang Ran was embarrassed to say it and stammered, “Just… to have a look.”
Huo Yan narrowed his eyes. “What did you see? Muscular male models? Were they good-looking?”
Not as good-looking as you.
But Fang Ran was too embarrassed to say it aloud and turned his head away, his face turning red.
The car drove back to the villa. Auntie Liu, fearing he was hungry from not eating, hurried to heat up some food.
Fang Ran’s hunger had passed its peak, and he didn’t feel much until he sat at the table and smelled the aroma of the food; his stomach began to growl. After washing his hands, he buried his head in his meal. Huo Yan frowned, his anger momentarily sidelined by a wave of heartache.
“How could you not even eat dinner?”
Huo Yan sat right beside him, serving him food and pouring water.
Fang Ran’s mouth was stuffed full. “Food outside isn’t nearly as good as at home.”
Huo Yan raised an eyebrow slightly. “So you’re admitting you went out for ‘wild food’?”
Fang Ran was stunned, and then he understood what Huo Yan meant.
What ‘wild food’… what are you talking about?
He didn’t say a word, burying his head to eat busily, only his exposed ears turning bright red.
Fortunately, Huo Yan didn’t say anything more.
After Fang Ran finished a bowl of rice, Huo Yan wouldn’t let him eat more. “It’s too late. If you don’t digest it, you’ll get a stomachache.”
Fang Ran nodded obediently and went upstairs to shower and change.
While showering, he was secretly relieved. Huo Yan seemed fairly easy to talk to today, letting him off so easily.
As the water poured down over him, Fang Ran washed his hair and began to ponder through the foam.
So… according to this logic…
He liked Huo Yan?
Fang Ran’s head felt dizzy; he felt like banging his head against the wall.
What was wrong with him!
How could he have feelings for the childhood friend he grew up with!
That was Huo Yan!
That was his “brother”!!
Fang Ran’s shower lasted a full half hour. Finally, he walked out of the bedroom looking wilted, only to find that Huo Yan hadn’t lain down or gone to work. He was sitting by the edge of the bed, seemingly waiting for him.
Seeing Fang Ran come out, Huo Yan naturally moved to blow-dry his hair. This had already become a habit; every day after Fang Ran showered, Huo Yan would dry his hair. At first, Fang Ran would shake his head like a puppy and say he’d just let it air dry, but after being forced by Huo Yan several times, he had gotten used to it.
With his hair blown warm and fluffy, Fang Ran shook his head and looked back at Huo Yan with a smile. “A-Yan, you’re so good.”
He wouldn’t be able to say those words in a moment.
Huo Yan pressed on his shoulders, his tone very flat. “Now, should we settle the score?”
Settle the score?!
In an instant, Fang Ran’s eyes widened, and he started to stutter. “What… what score?”
“Lying to me, sneaking off to that kind of place, finding male models… do these not count?”
Huo Yan’s tone sounded a bit cold.
Fang Ran had the intuition of a small animal; his scalp tingled, and he quickly tried to stand up and run, only to be grabbed by the shoulder, hoisted up, and tossed back onto the bed.
He landed face down, butt up.
Not good! Very dangerous!
Before Fang Ran could prop himself up, the man had already pressed down on his waist and slap delivered a hit.
How humiliating!
Fang Ran let out two whimpers and stopped moving, burying his head deep into the mattress, only his ears glowing red.
Huo Yan didn’t actually intend to beat him; his goal was just to tease and embarrass him. He pressed further, “Will you lie again next time?”
Fang Ran’s voice was muffled. “I won’t lie anymore.”
Huo Yan’s heart softened completely.
Look at that—whose baby was as well-behaved as his? Although he lied, he admitted his mistake quickly. Although he ordered male models, he didn’t do anything excessive.
Good baby.
Huo Yan picked him up and supported Fang Ran so he was sitting on his lap, circling his waist. “What should I do if you lie to me again?”
Fang Ran’s entire face was burning, and his body squirmed. “First… first don’t hold me like this.”
Huo Yan frowned, and then he realized something was off.
↑
He raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement entering his eyes. Instead of letting go, he held Fang Ran even tighter.
Huo Yan whispered, “So sensitive, Ranran? Just a couple of slaps to the butt and you have a reaction.”
Fang Ran’s eyes were a bit red as he struggled to defend himself. “That’s not it… it is! It’s from looking at the male models today.”
He didn’t want to lose face in front of Huo Yan, but he didn’t expect that after saying this, Huo Yan’s expression would instantly turn terrifyingly dark. He stared at him with a heavy gaze. “Ranran, don’t talk nonsense.”
Fang Ran felt so uncomfortable; the closer his friend got, the more he wanted to hide. But then, something happened that left Fang Ran dumbfounded.
Huo Yan placed him on the bed and actually knelt down, facing him.
Poor Fang Ran, an eighteen-year-old high school boy—how could he have ever experienced this? His thighs shook uncontrollably, and his eyes lost focus. Several times he tried to hide, but Huo Yan’s large hand kept a firm grip on the base of his thigh, making it impossible to move.
Finally, Huo Yan looked up at him, the corner of his mouth was messy, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. This scene was truly too [erotic]; looking at it made Fang Ran feel like he was about to catch fire.
It took him a long while to recover. Clearly, he was the one being served, yet his voice had gone raspy instead.
“How can you be like this?”
Huo Yan smiled at him. “Is it not good for me to serve you?”
Fang Ran actually thought about it for a second.
Don’t say it… it felt pretty good.
He hummed twice. “Hurry up… go brush your teeth.”
Huo Yan’s eyes were dark as he stared intently at Fang Ran. His voice dropped slightly. “No rush. Ranran, I have a question I want to ask you now.”
“Do you like boys?”
Fang Ran froze instantly, his heart pounding like a drum.
He swallowed hard. After a few seconds, he spoke in a low voice.
“Yes.”
Huo Yan also felt a surge of tension; his hands at his sides tightened slightly. Then he asked softly:
“Then, do you have someone you like?”
