Chapter 21: Forcibly Kissing a Brother
“I bit that?”
Fang Ran stared blankly at the tooth marks on Huo Yan’s shoulder, swallowing hard as a look of panic crossed his face. “No, no way.”
Huo Yan gave a light laugh. “Forget it, it’s okay. I know you drank too much.”
Hearing that last sentence, Fang Ran nodded repeatedly like someone grabbing a life-saving straw. “Right, right, right. I drank too much, I don’t remember anything.”
Huo Yan lowered his eyes and said nothing more. He sat up from the bed and changed his clothes right in front of Fang Ran without any shyness.
The moment the clothes came off, Fang Ran’s eyes widened slightly as he saw that there were even tooth marks on Huo Yan’s bulging chest muscles. He was completely stunned, then quickly looked away, his heart thumping wildly.
No way, no way.
It wasn’t his first time drinking, so why did it turn out like this this time!
Huo Yan changed into a new shirt and slowly turned around; his expression looked inexplicably dejected.
Fang Ran felt terrible inside.
He felt like an incompetent husband, huddled in his little duvet, only able to helplessly repeat, “I drank too much, I really drank too much.”
“Be good, I’m not blaming you.”
Huo Yan’s voice was gentle, but just as he finished speaking, he suddenly let out a “hiss” and covered the corner of his mouth.
Fang Ran asked hurriedly, “What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing. You bit the corner of my mouth open last night.”
???
What???
Fang Ran felt as if he had been struck by a blow to the head. He asked in a trembling voice, “I… I bit your mouth too?”
Huo Yan frowned imperceptibly and corrected him, “You kissed me.”
Fang Ran: “…”
He let out a wail (“ao-wu”) and collapsed, covering his head with the duvet.
The sky had fallen.
How could this happen! How was it possible!
It must be because of those messy things Zhao Yan said!
But…
Fang Ran gritted his teeth and poked his head back out, venting his frustration at Huo Yan. “I was drunk, why didn’t you dodge?”
Huo Yan was so big; if he had really dodged, it wasn’t like Fang Ran could have pinned him against the wall and kissed him.
Huo Yan gave a very helpless smile. “It’s okay, Ranran. Our relationship is so good, you can do anything you want to me.”
Fang Ran looked at the wound on the corner of Huo Yan’s mouth, looked away awkwardly, and muttered in a low voice, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t say sorry anymore.”
Huo Yan said warmly, “Don’t take this matter to heart.”
It was easy to say, but who could remain calm and composed after forcibly kissing their brother?
While eating breakfast that morning, Fang Ran took two bites and couldn’t help but look up stealthily to peek at Huo Yan. When Huo Yan looked over, he quickly dropped his head again, looking like a thief with a guilty conscience.
The man, however, appeared very calm. He didn’t even mention the matter again, eating breakfast and driving Fang Ran to school, acting as if nothing had happened the whole time.
It wasn’t until he was in the car, watching Fang Ran enter the school, that the smile on Huo Yan’s face faded. He tugged at his collar and looked carefully in the mirror, letting out a dissatisfied “tsk.”
The bite was too light; it probably wouldn’t be visible by the afternoon.
…
Completely unaware of his childhood friend’s sinister intentions, Fang Ran walked into class with unsteady steps. He returned to his seat listlessly and slumped over the desk, looking withered.
Beside him, Zhao Yan also looked very low on energy, though his was purely a hangover headache from drinking too much last night.
Yawning, Zhao Yan asked casually, “Did you drink too, then?”
Drinking!!
This word hit Fang Ran’s fragile soul hard. He pounded the table in agony. “I’m never drinking again.”
The two “bang bang” sounds startled Zhao Yan.
“What’s wrong? Headache?”
Fang Ran shook his head in despair. “Heartache.”
Zhao Yan: “?”
Fang Ran covered his face. “I got drunk and did something irreversible.”
Zhao Yan couldn’t figure out what someone like Fang Ran could possibly do.
He spoke tentatively, “Did you go streaking?”
Fang Ran looked wilted and shook his head but didn’t speak again.
Seeing this, Zhao Yan didn’t push further and handed Fang Ran a bottle of yogurt as a gesture of comfort.
However, he didn’t expect the atmosphere at school today to be so strange.
It seemed like everyone who walked into the classroom would take a look at Fang Ran without saying a word. Their gazes weren’t malicious, just a bit of subtle scrutiny.
One or two people would be fine, but every person who walked in was like this. However, Fang Ran was too dejected today and didn’t notice.
Zhao Yan couldn’t sit still anymore. After class, he ran out for a stroll and then rushed back excitedly. “Fang Ran, Fang Ran! You’re famous!!”
Fang Ran was currently contemplating life and spoke lazily, “What happened?”
Zhao Yan pulled out his phone and went straight to the school forum. “Photos of you and President Huo dancing last night were taken. The post has exploded.”
Fang Ran snapped upright. “What?!”
He leaned over to look. A pinned post had a very conspicuous title: Is this something I’m allowed to ship?
Fang Ran tremblingly clicked in.
A glaring photo popped up. It was a candid shot of him and Huo Yan dancing. From this angle, Fang Ran’s face couldn’t be seen as it was completely blocked by Huo Yan; one could only see the man holding his waist, looking down at him with a slight, gentle curl at the corner of his lips.
Although Fang Ran couldn’t be seen clearly, this was the school forum. So many students were present last night that everyone knew the person was Fang Ran.
The comments underneath were all over the place:
Wait… your account is going to get deleted.
Can I say it? A perfect match.
Aaaaah, where is the handsome little guy’s face!
I see President Huo coming to pick up a certain run after school almost every day. At first, I thought he was a younger brother.
Fang Ran felt his vision go dark. He looked at Zhao Yan in despair. “How can we get them to delete the post?”
Zhao Yan spread his hands. “I don’t have the authority either. Maybe you should contact Huo Yan.”
…
“President Huo, should we delete the post?”
The secretary brought his phone to report. Although it was just a post on a school forum, the secretary didn’t dare ignore anything regarding Fang Ran.
Huo Yan glanced at it. Instead of the anger the secretary expected, he actually let out a somewhat pleased laugh. He said flatly, “No need to delete it. Leave it.”
Actually, Huo Yan originally wanted to make a bigger scene, calling on some media to repost it and create some gossip news.
But in the end, he decided against it.
Ranran was about to take the Gaokao (College Entrance Exam). Even though Huo Yan never cared about this exam, Fang Ran took it very seriously.
After the secretary left, Huo Yan thought for a moment, took out his phone, snapped a photo of his own lips, and sent it to Fang Ran.
…
While having lunch in the cafeteria, Fang Ran’s phone rang. He took it out casually to check, and when he clicked, it was a photo of a man’s lips—so close it felt like they were about to press against him through the screen.
Fang Ran almost choked and coughed violently.
Zhao Yan asked curiously, “What’s up?”
Fang Ran was startled and slammed his phone face down. “No, nothing.”
Only after Zhao Yan sat back did Fang Ran, acting like a thief, sneakily take out his phone and angrily type to Huo Yan.
Why are you suddenly sending photos!
Huo Yan replied very quickly.
My mouth hurts a bit.
You’re the one who bit it, so I’m showing you.
