After Getting Pregnant, I’m Divorcing My Alpha - Chapter 34
“Thump!”
Shen Xiao covered his forehead where he’d been flicked, his previously tense expression completely replaced by blank astonishment.
“Got it.” An Xiangdi curled the corner of his lips, and the stiff atmosphere in the car instantly eased because of his words. “Now that you’re rich and powerful, you even dare to make demands of me.”
The gloom that had been weighing on his heart gradually dissipated. Shen Xiao pulled An Xiangdi into an embrace. “I remember I haven’t been shy about making demands in bed.”
Hearing this, An Xiangdi responded by jabbing him with an elbow.
That evening, after his shower, An Xiangdi was rummaging through clothes in the room, picking out several pairs of underwear that had become too small and setting them aside.
When Shen Xiao finished his phone call with Cheng Youyi and entered the room, he saw underwear spread all over the bed.
“I never noticed before you have quite a lot of underwear?” And most of it was pure white.
An Xiangdi didn’t pay much attention to clothes if he saw something he liked, he bought it. “Do I?”
“Why are you taking them all out?”
“Some don’t fit anymore.” Though An Xiangdi said this, he was actually worried that none of these underwear would fit once his belly grew bigger.
“There’s special underwear for pregnant men, the high-waisted kind.” Shen Xiao helped him stack the underwear one by one, planning to throw them out later.
“How do you know that?” An Xiangdi stopped what he was doing and looked at him strangely.
“I looked it up when I was bored.” Shen Xiao asked, “Do you want some? If so, we can go buy some together. You’ll have to wear them eventually anyway.”
“We’ll see.” At least for now, An Xiangdi didn’t want to go shopping. Just sorting through his old underwear was tiring enough.
Shen Xiao carried him to the bed to rest and then paced around the room, following An Xiangdi’s instructions to quickly bag the clothes that were too small.
After everything was tidied up, the two leaned against the headboard, each occupied with their own tasks.
An Xiangdi sometimes felt particularly inspired before bed and could write songs much faster. He buried himself in his tablet, sketching and writing for a while, and when a song was nearly complete, he let out a relieved sigh.
Glancing at Shen Xiao, he saw him checking stocks.
“Are you looking at Yisheng Entertainment’s stock performance?” An Xiangdi didn’t trade stocks and couldn’t understand the charts at all the lines looked like squiggles to him, but in Shen Xiao’s eyes, they transformed into money.
“Yeah, because Ying Chong and Wei Yi’s contracts are expiring in about half a year. The talent department submitted a request to sign them.” Shen Xiao had been discussing this matter with Cheng Youyi on the phone earlier.
“The two of you make the decision?” An Xiangdi suddenly grew curious about how Shen Xiao and Cheng Youyi worked together.
“Not exactly. I just give reference opinions. After all, I’m in the industry, and Cheng Youyi isn’t. I have a better understanding of others in the circle everything from character to ability needs to be evaluated.” Shen Xiao closed his tablet. “Don’t look at it too much. It’s all colorful and distracting.”
An Xiangdi blinked. “With your business potential, it’s a waste for you to be a celebrity.”
Shen Xiao sighed helplessly. “If I weren’t in the industry, I might not be able to offer opinions either.”
As soon as he finished speaking, An Xiangdi’s phone chimed he had received another one million yuan transfer from Shen Xiao.
“Stop transferring money to me. It makes me feel like some kept celebrity.” An Xiangdi considered putting all this money into one card and someday throwing it in Shen Xiao’s face, saying, “This is your reward for being kept by this flute.”
Shen Xiao insisted on finishing what he started and didn’t back down: “It’s a proper, formal relationship.”
As An Xiangdi chatted with him, he gradually slid further under the covers.
Their phones, lying side by side, vibrated simultaneously. Shen Xiao picked his up and saw a message from the long-dormant group chat for The Eyes Hidden in the Corner crew.
Crew Member Xiao Hua: Good evening, everyone!
Crew Member Xiao Hua: Long time no see! It’s been almost three months since we wrapped up filming. We’re excited to announce that the final cut has been completed and submitted for review. Barring any issues, we should receive confirmation by mid-to-late July.
Crew Member Xiao Hua: Director Cao has picked an auspicious premiere date. A press conference will be held before the release, tentatively scheduled for July 27th. Please let us know if this works with your schedules.
Actor Liang Yao:* I’m available! I’ll have my agent clear that day. Thank you all for your hard work!
Actor Liang Yao: If there are any adjustments, I’ll do my best to accommodate them. [Fighting! emoji]
“Hidden Eyes has tentatively scheduled the press conference for July 27th,” Shen Xiao said, glancing at An Xiangdi, who was already half-asleep.
An Xiangdi mumbled, “Oh.”
“Sleepy?” Shen Xiao brushed the bangs away from his forehead.
“Mhm.” An Xiangdi mumbled again, but then the date “July 27th” suddenly flashed in his mind.
“Isn’t that your birthday?” He abruptly sat up from under the covers.
“Probably.” Shen Xiao wasn’t particularly concerned about his birthday. As a child, he hadn’t had many fond birthday memories except for the time An Xiangdi tried to bake him a cake and ended up blowing up the oven.
An Xiangdi studied his lowered eyes. Though Shen Xiao’s expressionless face often seemed stern, he was inherently gentle and sensitive. “Then that day is perfect.”
Shen Xiao was momentarily taken aback by his words. For a second, it sounded as if An Xiangdi would demand the crew change the date if he wasn’t satisfied.
“What’s wrong?” An Xiangdi asked, noticing Shen Xiao staring at him without replying to the message.
“Nothing. If you think the timing isn’t right, I can bring it up.” After saying this, Shen Xiao replied in the group chat.
Actor Shen Xiao: Both An Xiangdi and I are available. We’ll follow the crew’s arrangements.
As soon as Shen Xiao appeared, the group chat lit up with congratulations on his newly established personal studio.
Shen Xiao politely replied with a “Thank you” and put his phone away.
An Xiangdi stared at him intently. “You know, lately you’ve started to remind me of those Mary Sue CEOs from the novels Wei Yi loves to read.”
“Wei Yi?” Shen Xiao frowned.
“Yeah, like those domineering Alpha CEOs and delicate Omega love interests. Wei Yi really enjoys those he always imagines himself as the male lead.” After saying this, An Xiangdi burrowed back under the covers.
“He has that kind of interest?” Shen Xiao suddenly felt that his previous wariness toward Wei Yi was the most humiliating thing he’d ever done. Worrying about someone like that scheming was nothing but baseless, foolish paranoia.
As July arrived, the weather grew increasingly hot. With Shen Xiao’s studio now running smoothly, his work began to progress steadily.
Yao Honglang secured a few relaxed music promotion shows and evening galas for An Xiangdi. Each time he performed a song on stage, it brought a fresh wave of popularity to the track.
When he had nothing to do at home, An Xiangdi would watch Shen Xiao’s recent vlogs while doing prenatal exercises.
Shen Xiao’s personal studio not only posted his schedules and new endorsements but also shared fresh event photos and vlogs, documenting some of his daily life during activities.
An Xiangdi rewatched the videos several times and had to admit they were a bit boring. But there was no helping it Shen Xiao was undeniably handsome, a fact An Xiangdi himself acknowledged, and his looks never got old.
By mid-July, the “Hidden Eyes” production team received official confirmation that the series had passed review and was approved for release. After finalizing the broadcast date, the official Weibo account immediately began frequent updates according to the plan, laying the groundwork for the show’s pre-release hype.

After that, the official Weibo posted five more updates in a row, mostly featuring fun behind-the-scenes moments from the set and short fan-submitted anecdotes. The frequent activity even landed them on the hot search list.
The goal of building hype was achieved. Additionally, since the original novel of “Hidden Eyes” was highly popular among mystery fans and the casting largely aligned with the book’s descriptions, it was rare to see no conflicts between book fans and drama fans. When the Weibo hot search appeared, fans were enthusiastically promoting the show and expressing their anticipation.
The premiere event for “Hidden Eyes” was finally scheduled for 3:00 PM on July 27th at the Zongming City Image Hall. The venue staff had started preparations early in the morning, long before dawn.
Due to their respective schedules, An Xiangdi and Shen Xiao traveled to the venue separately.
When An Xiangdi’s van approached the venue, Xiao Gu was startled by the massive crowd: “Why are there so many people?”
An Xiangdi, who was too hot and lazy to move, glanced lazily out the window. Fans who knew about the premiere event had gathered early outside the venue, holding support banners, but besides them, there were also many reporters carrying cameras.
“Maybe I’ve gotten popular,” An Xiangdi joked lazily.
Xiao Gu turned to look at him: “Teacher An, you’ve always been popular.”
“Really? Not that popular, just an eighteen-tier celebrity.” As he spoke, An Xiangdi shifted his sitting position and yawned.
The van made its way through the crowd and stopped at the venue entrance. Xiao Gu quickly hopped out and opened the door for An Xiangdi.
Wearing sunglasses, An Xiangdi stepped out of the vehicle. He was dressed casually that day, with a loose polo shirt that couldn’t quite conceal the slight bulge of his abdomen.
Three months into the pregnancy, perhaps due to the baby’s size, the baby bump was already quite noticeable.
As he stepped out of the car, reporters immediately raised their cameras, clicking away incessantly, their focus unmistakably fixed on his pregnant belly.
Since the news had exploded on social media, An Xiangdi and his team had never publicly addressed the pregnancy rumors. Today’s press conference presented a perfect opportunity to finally get some answers!
