After Flirting with the God-Tier Beautiful Tycoon - Chapter 54
Hearing Chen Yi’s laughter, Shen Xiaojiang looked at her sideways, a thick, searing heat hidden in the depths of her eyes.
Chen Yi was her deepest fantasy in the dark of the night.
She was the star studded sky that Shen Xiaojiang most longed to possess.
“Flirting with me?” Chen Yi looked at her with slanted eyes, the charm in the corners of her eyes far more provocative than the words themselves.
In that moment, Shen Xiaojiang’s mind turned to mush, she didn’t know what to say.
Her gaze slid from Chen Yi’s eyes and landed on the woman’s smiling red lips.
Shen Xiaojiang wished the person before her could stain every inch of her skin with that crimson hue, letting gorgeous, soul-snatching flowers bloom in the dark night.
Chen Yi narrowed her eyes, her fingers tightening around the drawstring she was holding.
This time, Shen Xiaojiang bit her lip and intentionally made her voice sound more suggestive, “Ah…”
Chen Yi’s left eyebrow twitched slightly, her expression becoming noticeably less natural.
She leaned in, separated from Shen Xiaojiang by only the width of a piece of paper, using her warm breath to muddle the other girl’s vision: “Speak.”
Shen Xiaojiang looked directly into Chen Yi’s eyes and said huskily, “Yes. So, have you taken the bait?”
Chen Yi gazed at Shen Xiaojiang, her lashes trembling slightly as her throat bobbed slowly. “What do you think?”
Not to be outdone, Shen Xiaojiang raised her hand to stroke the delicate, smooth pearl button on Chen Yi’s collar one stroke at a time, very slowly, very deliberately.
“I want to hear you say it.”
Chen Yi looked down at a section of Shen Xiaojiang’s wrist, her earlobes feeling a bit hot.
Her own hands didn’t want to stay still either bit by bit, she gathered the drawstring into her palm, using her fingertips to gently brush against the sensitive small of Shen Xiaojiang’s back and forth, circling round and round.
“Guess,” Chen Yi said, her voice tinged with a smile.
Suddenly, Shen Xiaojiang pulled away, a cool breeze separating the two.
She turned her hand to grab Chen Yi’s, rubbing the soft bone at the wrist as she smiled. “I don’t want to guess.”
Chen Yi’s eyes crinkled into crescents. She lowered her head to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, then suddenly lifted her eyes gloomily, saying with a half-smile, “Come closer, and I’ll tell you.”
Shen Xiaojiang gritted her teeth.
A Chen Yi engaged in this push and pull was truly too unpredictable.
But it was precisely this unpredictability that made her so captivating.
She obediently leaned in, waiting for a session of intimate torture.
Chen Yi suddenly pulled off Shen Xiaojiang’s hair tie, burying her face in the girl’s cascading black hair. She closed her eyes and opened her mouth: “I was… just teasing you.”
Shen Xiaojiang’s ears weren’t as sensitive as Chen Yi’s, but she could still feel a wave of itchiness.
Her eyelids fluttered as she waited submissively.
Chen Yi let out a slow, soft laugh in her ear, then pressed her red lips against Shen Xiaojiang’s ear.
It was a very, very shallow kiss, yet it was enough to stir the depths of a still pool.
Still, nothing was said.
It was still that kind of extreme tension no warning, no splash.
Just as Chen Yi tried to pull back, Shen Xiaojiang caught her.
“Auntie, is it fun?” Shen Xiaojiang pulled the woman into her arms, the smile on her face fading slightly.
The shadows on the ground overlapped and separated, then separated and overlapped again, never tiring of the cycle.
Chen Yi reached out and pinched the soft flesh on Shen Xiaojiang’s face, her voice slow and gentle. “It’s fun.”
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t like this feeling it was like a bone stuck in her throat she couldn’t swallow it, and she couldn’t spit it out. It was incredibly uncomfortable.
Though she felt a bit frustrated, what else could she do? She loved Chen Yi too much; she just wanted to spoil her, letting her become more and more reckless in this game of pursuit.
Shen Xiaojiang released the person in her arms and said warmly, “I was just thinking about the first time we met here at the pet shop. You helped me tie the drawstring of my apron then, too.”
“Oh? Really? How come I don’t remember?” Chen Yi intentionally smiled radiantly. Then, while Shen Xiaojiang wasn’t paying attention, she used both hands to yank the drawstring tight. “Was it like this?”
“Auntie, you…”
“What about me?”
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t look at her, staring instead at the LED sign as she muttered, “You’ve become childish, too.”
“Have I?”
“Yes, and it’s actually quite cute.” Shen Xiaojiang’s tone turned more serious. “I like you like this. Maybe this is who you really are.”
Chen Yi blinked and stopped teasing her. She looked down, loosened the drawstring a bit, and quickly tied it into a very beautiful bow.
“This event your shop is having what does it mean?” Chen Yi changed the subject, pointing to the light-up sign.
“Oh, that,” Shen Xiaojiang shrugged. “The manager set it. It says that during the event, if you buy any of the following items, you get two free Instax photos.”
“In this day and age, who doesn’t have a phone? Who would want to use an Instax to take pet photos?” she grumbled softly.
“Me.”
“Huh?” Shen Xiaojiang thought she had misheard.
Chen Yi looked at her and smiled.
Shen Xiaojiang glanced at the shelves in the store. “But the cat trees, the carriers, the pet bells, the Elizabethan collars… Princess already has all of them. There’s no need to buy more; it’s a waste.”
“Don’t you need to hit a sales quota?” Chen Yi asked.
Shen Xiaojiang shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
Chen Yi let out a scoff and crossed her arms, the dark patterns on her qipao flickering in the light. “A pet bell… that sounds quite interesting.”
Shen Xiaojiang waved her hand, showing a hint of disdain. “The quality of these bells is just average. If you like them, you can come and get one for free during the shop’s anniversary. Paying for one now is really unnecessary.”
“Is that so?” Chen Yi’s voice was lingering and suggestive, as if there was a double meaning.
Shen Xiaojiang turned to look at her, unable to figure out what she was thinking.
Chen Yi raised a hand to touch her own chin, moving it bit by bit, drawing circles on her own neck.
“For Princess to use… it is indeed unnecessary…”
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t speak, staring blankly at Chen Yi.
Chen Yi looked down. “When is the shop anniversary?”
Shen Xiaojiang thought for a moment and replied, “Before Christmas.”
“Tsk…” Chen Yi glanced elsewhere, her flirtatious gaze roaming freely. “That’s too long. I can’t wait.”
Just as Shen Xiaojiang was still processing the meaning of those words, Chen Yi raised her hand, her fingertip grazing Shen Xiaojiang’s neck. “Wearing it here… shouldn’t be too bad.”
After saying that, she stared straight into Shen Xiaojiang’s eyes. “Is that okay?”
So, Chen Yi wasn’t talking about using it on Princess, she meant for her to wear it.
Shen Xiaojiang realized the implication, and her face flushed instantly.
In all her years, besides the protective amulet she wore as a child, she had never worn anything around her neck.
She knew what a choker was, but she had no feelings toward them and had never bought one.
Chen Yi’s finger slid upward, tilting Shen Xiaojiang’s chin. “I’ll ask you one more time. Is that okay?”
Even with a smiling expression and a negotiating tone, she made it impossible to refuse.
“I… I guess so.” Shen Xiaojiang’s hand at her side gripped her apron tightly. When she let go, the fabric was left in a mess of wrinkles.
“Then the photos…” Chen Yi released her chin.
Chen Yi let out a light laugh and gave Shen Xiaojiang a wink.
“I’ll take them with you.”
The wind picked up slightly, lifting the hem of the qipao to reveal straight, slender legs that were blindingly white.
Despite it being an absurd request, Shen Xiaojiang responded with a “Fine.”
“Welcome!”
Xiao Yue looked up just as she saw Chen Yi following Shen Xiaojiang into the shop.
Shen Xiaojiang nodded to her, and Xiao Yue went back to her work.
“Are there any other small toys?” Chen Yi asked.
Perhaps because Shen Xiaojiang’s thoughts had already turned “colorful,” she found herself associating everything Chen Yi said with that sort of thing.
“Shh!” She raised her hand, pressing her index finger against Chen Yi’s lips.
Chen Yi lowered her eyes and curled the corners of her mouth. “Why? Did I say something wrong? The kind that Princess can use.”
“Oh, Prin… Princess.”
Before Shen Xiaojiang could say anything else, Chen Yi pinched her index finger, rubbing the nail. “Is it,” she intentionally slowed her pace, “that a certain little pervert is thinking about something naughty?”
“I… I am not!”
It was strange; even though the two had already shared a wild night together, Shen Xiaojiang still felt incredibly shy whenever this kind of topic came up.
She looked around, her eyes darting nervously. “Auntie, we’re in the shop.”
Chen Yi grinned. Beneath those red lips was the smug satisfaction of a successful conspiracy.
A thought struck Shen Xiaojiang: Chen Yi was the type who was “bad at the game but loved to play.” The more she resisted, the more enthusiastic the other woman became.
With that in mind, Shen Xiaojiang licked her back teeth and suddenly lunged toward Chen Yi, intending to win back a round.
The excessive speed and sudden proximity did, in fact, startle Chen Yi. For a split second, her expression froze. Her eyes widened, and her lips parted in surprise. It seemed she wanted to say something, but the words wouldn’t come.
A thousand thoughts condensed into three words: “Shen… Shen Xiaojiang?”
Shen Xiaojiang couldn’t hold back and broke into laughter. “Auntie, you really are too much fun.”
“It’s not fun at all,” Chen Yi replied, both coquettish and annoyed, lightly punching Shen Xiaojiang’s shoulder.
At that moment, Xiao Yue was drawn by a notification on the security monitor. Looking at the screen, she saw Chen Yi with her back to the camera, while Shen Xiaojiang faced it. Xiao Yue leaned in, her eyes squinting and widening in disbelief, as she whispered to herself, “Wait, Sister Xiaojiang can laugh like that?”
She couldn’t help but look up toward the shelves, noticing that the drawstring on the back of Shen Xiaojiang’s apron had been tied.
When a customer arrived, Chen Yi remembered she needed to check on her Ragdoll cat. As Shen Xiaojiang walked past Xiao Yue, she felt that the way Xiao Yue looked at her was different than before.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
Xiao Yue pursed her lips, looking first at Chen Yi playing with the cat and then back at Shen Xiaojiang. “Sister Xiaojiang, that lady over there… she’s so beautiful!”
Shen Xiaojiang raised an eyelid casually. “Mm-hmm.”
“Wow, Sister Xiaojiang, how do you know someone like her?” Xiao Yue had the face of a devoted fan girl hungry for gossip.
Looking at the ledger in her hand, Shen Xiaojiang replied nonchalantly, “Oh, we just met randomly.”
Hearing this, a flicker of an unreadable expression crossed Chen Yi’s face. She suddenly remembered that she had initially approached Shen Xiaojiang to investigate an undercover mole, which was how they met.
“Randomly?” Xiao Yue frowned at the ceiling. “Argh! Why can’t I ‘randomly’ meet a sister like that?”
Shen Xiaojiang wasn’t one to show off, but hearing someone else praise Chen Yi’s beauty filled her with a secret delight. “Well, not everyone can meet her.” Her smug, satisfied look was truly adorable.
“Ahhh! Sister Xiaojiang, are you showing off your love?” Xiao Yue pouted and blinked.
What did I say that counts as showing off?
Shen Xiaojiang froze. All the blood in her body seemed to rush to her heart, which was pounding so hard it felt like it might tear a hole in her chest and jump out at any second.
“I am not!” she argued.
Xiao Yue narrowed her eyes skeptically. “Really? The way you two look at each other… the tension is thick enough to pull silk.”
“Get back to work,” Shen Xiaojiang patted her shoulder and headed toward the warehouse.
At closing time, Xiao Yue slung her bag over her shoulder and headed out, smiling at Chen Yi and sweetly calling her “Sister.”
Though Chen Yi was slightly displeased, this was Shen Xiaojiang’s colleague after all. After a few seconds of hesitation, she nodded politely. However, with her looks, a simple nod or smile always looked like she was sending a flirtatious signal.
Shen Xiaojiang cleared her throat, walked to Chen Yi’s side, and nudged her with her shoulder. “Happy now?”
“What?” Chen Yi looked confused.
Shen Xiaojiang pouted, saying sourly, “That little sister just called you ‘Sister’!”
Chen Yi looked at the childish girl in front of her, tossed her hair, and rubbed her neck. “Well, she made me feel young. How could I not be happy?”
“Pfft!” Shen Xiaojiang flattened her lips and walked toward the door in silence.
“Little one. Hey, Shen Xiaojiang.” Chen Yi stood her ground, arms crossed, refusing to move a silent stand off.
The lights were turned off, plunging the shop into darkness. Seeing that Chen Yi hadn’t followed, Shen Xiaojiang turned around hurriedly. “Auntie?”
Chen Yi remained unmoved. She slowly raised an arm, waving it vaguely in the darkness. “Come hold my hand.”
Shen Xiaojiang stood at the door. “Can’t you just walk over yourself?”
“I can’t walk anymore.” Chen Yi’s voice was soft, carrying a hint of hoarseness.
“Are you acting spoiled with me?” Shen Xiaojiang’s playful side emerged.
Half of Chen Yi’s arm was hidden in the shadows, but her wrist and fingers were in the light. Shen Xiaojiang’s gaze fell on that slender wrist, unable to look away.
Chen Yi didn’t speak. She slowly rotated her wrist, palm up, curling and straightening her fingers repeatedly. “Are you coming or not?” Her voice was absolutely lethal.
Shen Xiaojiang shook her head and whispered, “I give up. I’m defeated by you.”
She walked to Chen Yi’s side and grabbed her hand. “Is this okay?”
“It’s alright,” Chen Yi said, stifling a laugh.
“What do you mean ‘alright’? Can we go now?” As Shen Xiaojiang spoke, she moved a nearby chair out of the way so Chen Yi wouldn’t have any obstacles, she was incredibly protective.
“Mm, lead the way.” Chen Yi’s smile seeped out from between her teeth.
Caught in a daze, Shen Xiaojiang leaned in to kiss the other’s lips before giving a low response.
The two walked along the neon-lit street, their pace slow and unhurried.
“Shen Xiaojiang.”
“Hmm?”
“This was the hand that patted that girl’s shoulder just now.” As soon as she finished speaking, Chen Yi seized Shen Xiaojiang’s left hand.
Shen Xiaojiang winced slightly and turned to look at her. “What is it?”
“Your punishment.” With that, Chen Yi lifted Shen Xiaojiang’s arm and bit down on her wrist. It wasn’t very heavy or painful, but it left a small ring of teeth marks.
Shen Xiaojiang found it funny. “Auntie, are you jealous?”
Chen Yi continued to hold her arm up, staring silently at the ring of marks, her own masterpiece. Shen Xiaojiang gave a symbolic tug to pull her arm away, but didn’t really mean it.
“And what about you? Didn’t you smile at her too?” Shen Xiaojiang countered.
Chen Yi let go of the arm. “Shen Xiaojiang, you big idiot. I’m ignoring you.”
“Wait!”
Seeing Chen Yi walking toward the car, Shen Xiaojiang quickly chased after her. “Alright, alright, I’m a big idiot. I am. But you can’t ignore me. If you ignore me, I’ll cry right here for you to see.”
“Would you really cry? Have you ever cried?” Chen Yi looked completely unconvinced.
Shen Xiaojiang took a deep breath, balled her fists, and held them to the corners of her eyes like a lucky cat. “Waaaah, I’m so sad, I’m crying, waaaaah…”
After a second of processing, Chen Yi’s face scrunched up as she burst out laughing. “So stupid. I really don’t want to talk to you now.”
Between laughter and tears, Chen Yi turned to leave but was pulled into a hug by Shen Xiaojiang. With one hand cradling the back of her head and the other around her waist, Shen Xiaojiang whispered, “Be good. You really can’t ignore me.”
Chen Yi’s face remained expressionless, but her hands were restless. She took the opportunity to slide them under Shen Xiaojiang’s clothes, her cool, dry fingertips measuring the girl’s tight abdominal muscles inch by inch.
“And if I do ignore you, what are you going to do?” she asked slowly.
Enduring the itchiness, Shen Xiaojiang lowered her head until their noses touched. “Then I’ll ignore you back.”
“That won’t work. Pick another one,” Chen Yi said bossily.
Shen Xiaojiang sighed helplessly. “Then… I’ll just have to kiss you relentlessly.”
Just as the words left her mouth, she heard the sound of the car unlocking next to them. She turned her face toward the car, but Chen Yi grabbed her jaw and turned her back.
“Get in the car. Show me that kiss.”
