After Flirting with the God-Tier Beautiful Tycoon - Chapter 51
The light and shadow were sparse, the moonlight enchanting, and the night breeze brushed by gently. This night felt so long, as if one would never wake from it.
Under the streetlights, the two of them watched their shadows slowly stretch out.
“Auntie, look.”
Following the direction of Shen Xiaojiang’s finger, Chen Yi saw a handprint wall.
She didn’t ask any questions, simply following quietly by Shen Xiaojiang’s side.
“Let me find it…” Shen Xiaojiang let go of Chen Yi’s hand and walked toward the massive handprint wall.
Chen Yi stepped on Shen Xiaojiang’s shadow, it wasn’t until the shadow moved further away that she suddenly looked up, gazing at the person moving back and forth in front of the wall.
“Ah, found it!” Shen Xiaojiang said as she turned around, a wide, beaming grin on her face. “Me!”
Her hand rested in front of a handprint on the wall, her smile confident and radiant.
It seemed even more captivating than the moonlight.
Chen Yi froze for a moment. In the instant she began walking toward her, it felt like the closest she had ever been to the light in her thirty years of life.
Her footsteps faltered. Seeing this, Shen Xiaojiang immediately withdrew her hand and quickly walked toward Chen Yi.
Just as their shadows overlapped, Shen Xiaojiang took Chen Yi’s hand and said softly, “Walking so slowly, are you tired?”
Chen Yi looked at her captured hand and shook her head repeatedly.
She wasn’t tired. As long as she was by Shen Xiaojiang’s side, she could stay awake all night.
She didn’t want to be tired.
Shen Xiaojiang looked into her light colored eyes and gave a faint smile. “Auntie, tomorrow night I’ll have my mom stew some soup for you. Look how cold your hands are.”
As she spoke, she brought Chen Yi’s hand close to her own face. “It’s the middle of summer; how can your hands be this cold?”
“I…” Chen Yi hesitated, her words caught in her throat.
Shen Xiaojiang turned Chen Yi’s palm upward and pressed it against her cheek. Then, she covered the back of Chen Yi’s hand with her own palm, looking at her directly.
Chen Yi swallowed the words she was about to say, pursed her lips, and curled the corners of her mouth into a smile.
“What did you want me to see just now?” Her gaze shifted from Shen Xiaojiang’s face back to the handprint wall.
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t walk back immediately. “Oh, no rush. Let’s solve the problem in front of us first.”
With that, she took Chen Yi’s hand away from her face and began rubbing it between her own hands.
Suddenly, a shadow flickered.
Chen Yi’s palm pressed onto the top of Shen Xiaojiang’s head. A second later, she gently rubbed it.
This time, it didn’t feel like she was petting a puppy.
While Shen Xiaojiang rubbed her hands, she rubbed Shen Xiaojiang’s head. The sensation was a bit strange.
Exactly how it was strange, Shen Xiaojiang couldn’t say; she just obediently accepted it.
There was no weight to Chen Yi’s hand, it felt like a feather, like a cicada’s wing, or more like a fragile, breakable butterfly.
“Shen Xiaojiang, you…” Another sentence left unfinished.
Shen Xiaojiang looked up, meeting Chen Yi’s clear but lackluster eyes.
“Auntie, what is it you actually want to say?” she asked. As she spoke, her fingertips brushed over Chen Yi’s thin wrist, her thumb pressing against the cartilage.
She rubbed gently and repeatedly, searching for the other woman’s faint pulse.
Chen Yi felt a bit ticklish but didn’t pull her hand away; she only slightly raised her eyebrows.
“What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?” Shen Xiaojiang lowered her head to blow a warm breath onto that section of the wrist, stroking it carefully.
Chen Yi’s skin was very pale; this part of her wrist, in particular, seemed to glow white.
Shen Xiaojiang’s gaze was drawn to it, as if what she held wasn’t Chen Yi’s wrist, but a piece of the finest soft jade.
Chen Yi smiled and shook her head. “It doesn’t hurt at all. Come on, show me what you wanted to show me.”
Shen Xiaojiang led Chen Yi to the handprint wall. “There, that one is mine.”
Chen Yi leaned in, scrutinizing the palm print carefully for a while before letting out a soft laugh. “It does look like it.”
Shen Xiaojiang pointed to the two lines of small characters next to it: “I wrote this. ‘Rather than waiting for the wind to come, it is better to chase the wind with the ambition to reach the clouds, one does not waste their youth.'”
She spoke at a moderate pace, each word forceful and resonant.
Chen Yi looked at her as if admiring a world class masterpiece, her heart and eyes full of joy.
“How is it?” Shen Xiaojiang turned her head, her eyes seemingly filled with bright, twinkling stars.
“Mmh, not bad.” Chen Yi’s faint praise made Shen Xiaojiang’s heart feel warm.
“Just… ‘not bad’?” Shen Xiaojiang pouted intentionally.
Chen Yi glanced at her, lowered her eyelashes thoughtfully, and lightly bit her finger.
When she looked up again, her gaze was incredibly tender. “Shen Xiaojiang, you… you must graduate smoothly and find your ideal job.”
“Eh?” Shen Xiaojiang was stunned.
Chen Yi didn’t look at her, her tone remaining gentle: “Your whole life, you must, absolutely must, have everything go smoothly.”
After saying this, Chen Yi walked to the wall, touched Shen Xiaojiang’s palm print, and finally pressed her own palm over it.
Shen Xiaojiang didn’t understand what Chen Yi meant she just stared blankly at her back.
The wind was so gentle; you didn’t notice when it arrived, and you certainly wouldn’t know when it left.
Chen Yi was like that a stray breeze coming and going as she pleased, impossible to fathom or hold onto.
“Is this really your palm? Is it this big?” Chen Yi’s voice pulled Shen Xiaojiang back to reality.
“It’s just that your hand is too small.” Shen Xiaojiang looked at Chen Yi’s hand, then took out her phone and snapped a photo.
“My hand isn’t that small! My fingers are so long!”
The moment the flash flickered, Chen Yi raised her hand to cover the lens. “Hey, don’t take a picture.”
“Don’t move!”
“OK!”
Shen Xiaojiang was faster. In the photo, Chen Yi’s hand was a blur as she tried to block the camera, but at the center of the image was her hand pressed against Shen Xiaojiang’s print on the wall.
“Oh, this one is blurry.”
Hearing this, Shen Xiaojiang looked at Chen Yi, who was leaning over to look at the photo. Taking advantage of the distraction, she secretly kissed the other woman’s ear.
“What are you doing? You scared me.” Chen Yi shrugged her shoulder back.
If the night weren’t so bashful and the lights so dim, the blush on her ears would have been impossible to hide.
“Kissing you, what else?” Shen Xiaojiang giggled as she added the photo to a new category.
Chen Yi leaned in and asked with a smile, “What’s this?”
Shen Xiaojiang had created a new photo album titled 《Elopement》.
Chen Yi paused, her gaze glued to the phone screen. “Why that name?”
Shen Xiaojiang suppressed a laugh. “Guess.”
“I won’t guess. Tell me.” Chen Yi tugged at Shen Xiaojiang’s sleeve.
Shen Xiaojiang pretended not to hear.
Chen Yi tugged again. “Shen Xiaojiang, tell me!”
Shen Xiaojiang looked at her, amused by her acting spoiled.
Who could resist Chen Yi acting like this? Certainly not Shen Xiaojiang.
“It looks really good,” she said, looking into Chen Yi’s eyes.
Chen Yi pursed her lips and swallowed. “I think it’s blurry and doesn’t look good. Delete it.”
Shen Xiaojiang locked the screen and said playfully, “No!”
Originally, Chen Yi hadn’t been insistent on deleting it, but Shen Xiaojiang’s nonchalant attitude sparked a bit of rebellion in her.
“Shen Xiaojiang!”
Shen Xiaojiang faced Chen Yi and quickly started backing away. “Catch me before I enter any classroom, and I’ll delete it!”
She had been a star player on the volleyball team for three years. Chen Yi was no match for her.
In no time, Shen Xiaojiang had slipped away more than two meters.
Just as Chen Yi was about to give chase, she instinctively glanced at Shen Xiaojiang’s handprint and that passage on the wall.
That wall recorded the top scorers of the college entrance exams every year.
Chen Yi’s eyes flickered as she imagined the scene of Shen Xiaojiang placing her handprint there.
It must have been a beautiful day.
“Rather than waiting for the wind to come, it is better to chase the wind,” she murmured softly to herself.
“Auntie!”
“Coming!”
Chen Yi smiled and started running to catch her wind.
Shen Xiaojiang quickly ducked into a stairwell.
She leaned against the railing, waiting for Chen Yi to appear.
She didn’t want to get too far ahead; after all, Chen Yi wasn’t like her she didn’t usually climb many stairs.
When she saw the tip of the other woman’s shadow, Shen Xiaojiang immediately turned and continued climbing.
Full of energy and incredibly childish.
Shen Xiaojiang stood at the door of a classroom on the fourth floor, waiting for Chen Yi.
Chen Yi’s stamina wasn’t as good as Shen Xiaojiang’s by the time she reached the fourth floor, she was panting.
Seeing Shen Xiaojiang at the door, Chen Yi’s competitive spirit flared, and she rushed forward.
Shen Xiaojiang intentionally let her win, she didn’t want Chen Yi to lose.
No matter the time, she wanted her to win.
“There! I caught you!”
Seeing the smile on Chen Yi’s face, Shen Xiaojiang was satisfied. “Oh my, you’re right, you caught me.”
As she spoke, she raised her hand, her fingertips brushing against the other’s slightly flushed cheek.
It had been a long time since Chen Yi had exercised so freely fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.
Her hair was damp and stuck to her face, making her look so pale she was almost transparent.
Shen Xiaojiang withdrew her hand and took out her phone. “Fine, I’ll delete that photo from just now. I’ll do it right in front of you so you can’t say I lied.”
Chen Yi bit her lip hesitantly. Her hand slid down, pressing lightly on Shen Xiaojiang’s wrist. “Never mind. Don’t delete it.”
“Eh?” Shen Xiaojiang’s deep eyes widened, filled with infinite amusement. “Are you sure?”
Chen Yi tapped the tip of Shen Xiaojiang’s nose, then slid her finger down her own chin and tapped her temple twice, smiling elegantly. “However, if Student Shen really wants to delete it, then go ahead.”
“No way.” Shen Xiaojiang leaned in close to Chen Yi, her gaze falling on her lips, but in the next second, she playfully nipped the fabric on Chen Yi’s shoulder.
“Hey, what are you doing? Are you really a dog?” Chen Yi laughed heartily.
Shen Xiaojiang let go and imitated a puppy: “Woof woof woof!”
Chen Yi couldn’t help it anymore and laughed out loud.
Shen Xiaojiang watched her, watching her quietly.
She waited for Chen Yi to finish laughing before speaking softly, “Class 16, Grade 12. Welcome, Auntie.”
Chen Yi had been wondering why Shen Xiaojiang insisted on running to the fourth floor.
“Is this… your old classroom?” she asked.
Shen Xiaojiang nodded vigorously.
Then, Shen Xiaojiang walked into the classroom, thought for a moment, and headed toward a desk, gesturing for Chen Yi. “I sat here.”
Chen Yi looked around the entire room.
It had been so long since she’d been on a high school campus.
She even remembered the chill of the rain when she dropped out of school at sixteen.
Back then, she went to school every day and felt that being on campus was a luxury.
Now, she could buy a whole school, but she could never “go to school” again.
She walked over to Shen Xiaojiang. “You sat this far back?”
Shen Xiaojiang shrugged, her smile a bit silly. “Couldn’t help it, I’m tall.”
“Your deskmate was it a girl or a boy?” Chen Yi asked.
Perhaps through some special fate, Shen Xiaojiang had been deskmates with Sun Jiabao for all three years of high school.
“My deskmate was Sun Jiabao,” she smiled.
Chen Yi’s lips parted as if to say something, but she stopped.
What Shen Xiaojiang didn’t know was that Chen Yi also felt this was a special kind of fate between her and Shen Xiaojiang.
“Desks are so nice nowadays. Not like when I was in school if you pressed too hard with a pen, it would leave a hole, and they’d make a ‘creak-creak’ sound.” Chen Yi brushed the desk with her fingertips.
Shen Xiaojiang said obediently, “We’re here to study; what kind of desk we sit at doesn’t matter much.”
“But,” Shen Xiaojiang turned sideways, leaning against the desk, “this desk is high quality. Sitting on it feels very sturdy.”
Chen Yi glanced at Shen Xiaojiang.
Shen Xiaojiang felt the gaze and glanced back at her.
In the next second, Chen Yi looked away.
She turned and sat on the desk.
“Mmh, it is sturdy,” she said.
Shen Xiaojiang turned her head and stared into Chen Yi’s eyes.
Her pupils were very light in color, and under this cold moonlight, they seemed even lighter.
Chen Yi looked up unnaturally, her gaze passing through Shen Xiaojiang’s eyes before secretly dropping to look at the gray floor.
For some reason, at this moment, she felt embarrassed no matter where she looked.
Maybe it was because the light in the classroom was too dim, or maybe it was because the moonlight was too beautiful.
Suddenly, a pair of canvas shoes appeared in Chen Yi’s field of vision black, with a poorly tied bow.
Then, the shoes took a step toward her.
Shen Xiaojiang looked at the top of Chen Yi’s head. Her naturally flaxen hair was being washed by the moonlight, reflecting a luster even more beautiful than usual.
The white light pierced through the clouds and mist, entering the classroom and falling on the two of them.
In this white light, Chen Yi appeared even thinner, paler, and more detached.
Shen Xiaojiang raised her hand, gently brushing Chen Yi’s hair aside. Her fingertips didn’t stop there but slowly, very slowly, traced down Chen Yi’s dry cheek.
“Auntie.”
Hearing her voice, Chen Yi looked up at her.
“Why am I only meeting you now?” Shen Xiaojiang’s voice dropped, carrying her unique magnetic and sexy depth.
Chen Yi lost her voice.
She looked down toward the window.
The moonlight hit her face, dyeing her every eyelash with a thin, cool frost.
Those long, curled lashes fluttered slowly, like slender branches laden with snow, on the verge of breaking under the weight.
The fragile atmosphere was truly alluring.
Chen Yi let out a breath, her lips parting slightly.
She tilted her chin up, making the lines of her neck more fluid.
Shen Xiaojiang looked at that section of fair neck and instinctively swallowed.
“Shen Xiaojiang.” Chen Yi turned her head nonchalantly, her lowered eyes rising slowly a cold yet burning light pierced Shen Xiaojiang’s heart.
“Mmh.”
Chen Yi curled her lips. Her dark red fingernail moved up, and her cool thumb pressed against Shen Xiaojiang’s lip, rubbing back and forth. “Don’t you… want to kiss me?”
With one hand lightly gripping Chen Yi’s wrist and the other propped beside her, Shen Xiaojiang’s burning kiss blocked Chen Yi’s mouth.
“Mmh…”
Not expecting such a swift attack, Chen Yi was startled.
She laughed, causing the kiss to shift.
Shen Xiaojiang released her and whispered, “Wrap your arms around my shoulders.”
Chen Yi’s heart skipped a beat.
The “little one” in front of her seemed like a predator hunting in the dark calm, wild, and possessing the strength to devour everything.
For the first time, Chen Yi was willing to surrender.
She gave herself up willingly, only praying that she could stay with this beast a little longer.
With both hands propped beside Chen Yi, Shen Xiaojiang deepened the kisses, over and over again.
