- After Faking My Death, My Disciple, Who Hated Me to the Bone, Has Gone Mad
- Chapter 4 - Hopefully, I Won't Meet Yun Zheng Again in This Life
Consciousness gradually cleared, and Sheng Muxue opened his eyes.
He had expected that upon waking, he would certainly be back in his university dormitory. After all, the day before he transmigrated into the book, he had been sleeping in his own bed.
He was originally an ordinary senior university student. Just because his hand slipped and he clicked on a somewhat suggestive cultivation novel, he had inexplicably transmigrated into the story.
Transmigrating was one thing, but he had become the great villain who was enthusiastic about causing trouble. The system made him follow the plot, stimulating the protagonist to become a supreme powerhouse through abuse, and then as long as he successfully died by the protagonist’s hand, he could complete the plot and return to his original world.
However, now that he had completed the plot and successfully died and departed, he found that he had not returned after opening his eyes.
He was currently located in a void. His body was also transparent; he was truly a ghost 2.0.
Even more ridiculous was that the system was floating beside him. It was a semi-transparent, small white light orb. Its head and body were one piece, and it had a cartoon face. If it were not for the fact that it was not yellow, Sheng Muxue would have thought it was a physical version of a QQ emoji’s big yellow face.
He knew it was the system because it had two large “GM” letters on its head.
Sheng Muxue’s first reaction was to beat up the system. It was all because the system and the damn “Main System,” which had forcefully dragged him into this world, were in cahoots. They had him transmigrate to be a villain for no reason, with no benefits, while having to make enemies everywhere, only to be killed in the end.
Before he could even make a move, the system cried out, “Big Brother, spare my life!”
Seeing that the system’s attitude was decent, Sheng Muxue reluctantly withdrew his fist. “So, everything was a lie you told me?”
The system extended two small, chubby hands from its dumpling-shaped body, floated in front of Sheng Muxue, and hugged his thigh. “Big Brother, please listen to my explanation.”
Sheng Muxue had a peculiar train of thought. He did not care about the explanation, but instead asked, “Why are you not calling me ‘Host’? I feel that those four characters sound cooler and more domineering.”
The system was stunned for a moment before saying, “Because you are no longer a host now. You are already dead.”
Sheng Muxue did not need the system to remind him; he knew this fact. He did not reply but signaled for the system to continue.
The system let go of Sheng Muxue and began picking at its fingers. “It is like this. The Main System said that because you did not follow the script, even if the ending was consistent with the original plot, it does not count as completing the story.”
“So?” Sheng Muxue raised an eyebrow, his tone dangerous.
The system wobbled its dumpling-like body and subconsciously floated backward an inch. “So, it means you cannot return to your original world yet.”
“Then how can I return?”
“This…” The system’s voice grew weaker. “I do not know either. The Main System did not say.”
Sheng Muxue thought for a moment and did not have much resistance to this result. He was the type of person who adapted to his circumstances. Moreover, he had been away from his original world for two hundred years; if he were really sent back, he might not even be able to adapt.
“But I am already dead,” Sheng Muxue reminded. “You surely cannot expect me to be resurrected, can you?”
If he were resurrected and returned to the timeline he first arrived at, he would be forced to abuse the protagonist again, right?
The system shook its head. “No. A character who has already died cannot be resurrected. However, the Main System said you could be reborn into this world as a brand-new character who never appeared in the book, five hundred years later.”
“Five hundred years later?” Sheng Muxue had read this novel. “The plot ends at my death. Where would five hundred years later come from?”
“Although the plot is over, the world still exists,” the system explained. “It is just that there is no more script. This means that future events are completely uncontrollable, and we do not know what will happen. This is the only handling method provided by the Main System. Do you… accept it?”
Sheng Muxue wanted to ask the system what would happen if he did not accept it. However, although he was rebellious, he was not completely lacking in common sense. Obviously, he only had this one choice now.
Before agreeing, Sheng Muxue asked one question that worried him: “What about Yun Zheng? Five hundred years later, is he still…”
Sheng Muxue originally wanted to ask, “Does he hate me?” But as the words reached his lips, he changed them to, “Is he still alive?”
“I do not know,” the system answered quickly. “I just told you. There is no script anymore. Nobody knows what the world will be like in five hundred years, or if the people you once had intersections with are still alive.”
Sheng Muxue understood. He asked again, “What is my new identity?”
The system’s chubby hand scratched its head, looking embarrassed. “I do not know either. It might be randomly generated. Ouch!”
Before the system finished, it received a headbutt from Sheng Muxue.
Sheng Muxue had wanted to hit this system for a long time. Previously, hindered by the fact that it had no physical form, he could not hit it and could only lock it in the “dark room.” Now, the opportunity was rare.
After beating up the system, Sheng Muxue felt much better. The system covered the pile of bumps on its head, with two noodles of tears streaming down its face. “Big Brother, as long as it makes you happy, I am willing to be beaten, sob.”
Given that his mood was much better, after beating the system, Sheng Muxue rubbed its round, bald head, acting like a master giving a treat after a punishment. This was a necessary tactic of manipulation.
Sure enough, the system was very moved. “Big Brother, I knew you still cherished me.”
Sheng Muxue sighed, rubbing his forehead. Luckily, this system’s IQ was not high.
Because he was a character who had never appeared in the book, the first step for Sheng Muxue’s rebirth was to sculpt his face.
The system provided Sheng Muxue with a face-sculpting panel, just like generating a character in a game. First, select the basic face shape and hairstyle, then fine-tune it.
Sheng Muxue stood before the face-sculpting panel, which was about the same height as him, with his chin in his hand, lost in thought. Looking at the first column of basic face shapes, Sheng Muxue, who suffered from decision paralysis, was somewhat dazed.
He was wondering whether he should sculpt a face identical to his previous life. He actually quite liked that face; it had a touch of cold, peerless beauty, while also revealing the wildness and alluring nature a Demon Lord should possess. The silver hair and purple eyes setting also really appealed to him.
However, Sheng Muxue soon realized that his previous appearance was too unique. Not to mention that it was excessively outstanding, with that silver hair and purple eyes, he was definitely the only one in the world. Since he had made too many enemies in his previous life, what if he were not as strong after being reborn, and he was found by his enemies because of this face? If he could neither fight nor run, he would be doomed.
After careful consideration, Sheng Muxue chose a face completely different from his previous life. It looked much younger than his previous face; it was the appearance of a youth. Originally, this face was not particularly outstanding when Sheng Muxue chose it, but since he was a fanatic for beauty, he gave it “just a few” billion adjustments—it became a great beauty! During the fine-tuning, he also added beauty marks to the corners of his eyes and lips.
As for the hairstyle, among a crowd of colorful, exaggerated styles, Sheng Muxue chose the most ordinary black, loose hair, just fearing it would not be ordinary enough to attract others’ attention.
To match his youthful beauty, Sheng Muxue also chose a thin, youthful physique. Although thin, he had all the muscles he should have, just a thin layer. Broad shoulders, long legs, and a narrow waist. Especially those alluring collarbones; after seeing them, Sheng Muxue wanted to touch himself.
With everything ready, Sheng Muxue submitted his character information.
The system said, “Big Brother, please wait.”
Soon, Sheng Muxue’s body was submerged in the white light beneath his feet. Sheng Muxue, who was usually not one to get nervous, suddenly felt his throat tighten.
He had already made up his mind. Regardless of what identity or status he had after being reborn, he would find a partner to live a good life with and be happy and healthy for the rest of his days.
But would the new life waiting for him really be as he wished, peaceful and smooth?
Hopefully, in this life, he won’t meet Yun Zheng again that would be good.
