- Chapter 10 - Stimulating the Gland
The early morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains, spilling into the room. Su Jin sat up, her head heavy and groggy.
She rubbed her temples, trying to clear her mind, but the system’s notification sound sliced through her peace like a sharp blade.
“New Mission Released: Stimulate Ye Qinglan’s gland during filming to force her into heat. Reward for success: 20 million. Penalty for failure: Electric shock punishment.”
“Are you crazy?” Su Jin’s voice trembled, the words squeezed from the depths of her throat. “Ye Qinglan is an Omega. Do you have any idea how dangerous a heat cycle is for her? If word of this gets out, her reputation will be ruined! I… I can’t do this!”
The system’s voice remained devoid of emotion: “Host, this is a mission. You have no choice. If you do not execute it, I will take direct control of your body.”
Su Jin dug her nails deep into her palms. The pain brought a flicker of clarity.
She remembered the feeling of helplessness the last time the system forcibly controlled her body the chilling terror of having her autonomy stripped away.
But this mission was too cruel. How could she lay a hand on Ye Qinglan?
“I… I can’t do it,” Su Jin whispered.
The system’s voice grew colder, echoing as if from an abyss: “Host, do not force my hand.”
Su Jin didn’t respond further. She silently got up to wash. In the mirror, her face was as pale as paper, dark circles under her eyes making her look haggard and exhausted.
At the studio, Su Jin saw Ye Qinglan from a distance, already standing in the filming area. She wore a perfectly tailored white silk suit, her long hair draped casually over her shoulders. She looked cold, elegant, and ethereal.
Looking at her, Su Jin felt a wave of guilt and heartache.
Today’s scene featured a confrontation between the characters Zhou Yu and Lin Xia. The plot involved Zhou Yu becoming emotionally unstable due to jealousy and rejection, eventually pinning Lin Xia against a wall to interrogate her. According to the script, Su Jin needed to clasp the back of Ye Qinglan’s neck and lean close to her gland in a threatening posture.
Once filming began, Su Jin walked up to Ye Qinglan according to the script. She reached out to hold the back of her neck, bringing their bodies close instantly.
Su Jin’s fingers trembled. Her heart was a battlefield of inner conflict. She knew that with just a little pressure a slight stimulation of the gland she could force Ye Qinglan into heat.
Yet her fingers refused to move, resting there only lightly.
“Cut!” Director Lin’s voice rang out. “Su Jin, your emotions aren’t there! Zhou Yu is supposed to be mad with jealousy! Your grip needs to be firm, and your eyes need to be fierce!”
Su Jin bit her lip and whispered, “I’m sorry, Director. Let me try again.”
The second take began. Su Jin gripped Ye Qinglan’s neck again, her eyes filled with struggle.
The system’s voice hissed in her mind, laced with threat: “Host, do not test my patience.”
Su Jin gritted her teeth and whispered back internally: “I won’t do it.”
The system’s tone turned frigid: “Then don’t blame me.”
The next second, a violent surge of electricity raced up her spine, spreading through her entire body. Her frame jerked violently. Her fingers tightened involuntarily, and she lost control, slamming her weight forward onto Ye Qinglan.
Ye Qinglan clearly sensed the abnormality. “Su Jin, what’s wrong?” she whispered.
Su Jin clenched her jaw, enduring the agony of the shock. Her voice shook: “I… I’m fine.”
The system spoke again: “Host, this is your final warning. If you do not execute the mission, I will seize control.”
Sweat beaded on Su Jin’s forehead, but she remained stubborn: “I… will not.”
“Then so be it.”
In an instant, Su Jin felt her consciousness being forcibly peeled away. Her body was no longer her own.
Her fingers clamped down hard, her nails nearly digging into the skin of Ye Qinglan’s nape.
Ye Qinglan stiffened. She immediately grabbed Su Jin’s wrist, her voice turning icy: “Su Jin, what are you doing?”
Controlled by the system, Su Jin’s lips curled into an eerie smile. She delivered her lines with chilling precision: “You’ve always been so aloof, haven’t you? I want to see how long you can keep up that act.”
Ye Qinglan’s eyes sharpened, watching Su Jin with intense vigilance.
The system controlled body applied more pressure, aiming to stimulate the gland. However, Ye Qinglan reacted faster than expected. She raised her hand and delivered a sharp chop to the back of Su Jin’s neck.
Su Jin’s body went limp immediately. The system’s voice echoed one last time, filled with annoyance: “Host, you brought this on yourself.”
Su Jin’s consciousness plunged into darkness.
When Su Jin woke up, she found herself lying in a hotel bed, her head still swimming.
She rubbed her temples, recalling the events at the studio with lingering fear.
“System, are you there?” Su Jin asked tentatively.
The system replied coldly: “Host, your behavior this time was extremely disappointing.”
Su Jin gritted her teeth. “I won’t do those immoral things anymore. Ye Qinglan is innocent. I can’t hurt her.”
The system gave a mocking sneer: “Host, do you think you’re like that previous idiot ‘Task-Taker’ who tried to save her? Impossible. In this world, everyone has a destiny. You can’t change anything.”
Su Jin didn’t argue. She sat up in silence, her heart heavy. Just then, a soft knock came at the door.
Startled, Su Jin got up to open it. Ye Qinglan was standing there.
“Film Queen Ye… why are you here?” Su Jin asked, her voice tinged with guilt.
Ye Qinglan’s gaze swept over her face. Her voice was calm: “Su Jin, we need to talk.”
Su Jin’s heart sank. She subconsciously gripped the hem of her shirt. She knew Ye Qinglan must have noticed something. But how could she explain? That she was being controlled by a system? That she was actually fighting to protect her?
“I…” Su Jin started, but the words failed her.
Ye Qinglan entered the room and closed the door. “Su Jin, your behavior on set today was very wrong. What exactly is going on with you?”
Su Jin’s throat felt constricted. Her eyes welled up. “I’m sorry, I…”
The system’s warning blared: “Host, if you reveal my existence, you will be permanently erased.”
Su Jin’s tears finally spilled over. She sobbed, “I… I’m sorry. Please believe me, I never wanted to hurt you.”
Ye Qinglan looked at her, a flash of complex emotion crossing her eyes. She reached out, gently wiping away Su Jin’s tears. Her voice softened: “Su Jin, I don’t know what you’re going through, but if you need help, you can tell me.”
A wave of warmth flooded Su Jin’s heart, followed by even deeper guilt. Ye Qinglan was such a good person; why did the system want to force her into a dark path?
Su Jin looked up, her eyes sincere. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Ye Qinglan replied, a small smile appearing. “Get some rest. I’ll head out first.”
Su Jin watched her leave, her mind racing. She realized she couldn’t let the system lead her by the nose anymore. She had to find a way to fight back.
Outside the room, Ye Qinglan’s expression turned instantly cold and sharp. “System, find anything?”
“The anomaly in Su Jin today was likely a punishment for disobeying her system’s orders,” her own internal system replied.
Ye Qinglan’s eyes softened with heartache. “Did she refuse an order to hurt me?”
“Most likely,” the system confirmed. “She is bound to a ‘Scripted NPC’ system. Her refusal proves she is indeed the Master. Her behavior matches the Master’s perfectly especially her moral compass during difficult choices.”
Ye Qinglan clenched her fists so hard her nails drew blood. “System, I can’t wait any longer,” she whispered, her voice thick with suppressed rage. “Every time I see her suffer, I want to destroy the thing controlling her.”
“You must endure,” the system urged. “Only at the moment the other system thinks it is completing its mission will the energy I can devour be at its peak. That is our only chance for a counter strike. Moving too early will only alert them and put the Master in more danger.”
Ye Qinglan took a shaky breath. She knew the system was right, but seeing Su Jin being shocked and manipulated was agonizing.
“But… how do I let her know she doesn’t have to hurt herself for me?”
The usually composed Ye Qinglan was nearing her breaking point.
“Give her a hint,” her system suggested. “Make her understand she doesn’t need to fight the system head-on. After all, the ‘plot’ she is supposed to follow involves ‘seducing’ you. For you, that should be exactly what you want.”
Ye Qinglan’s face flushed slightly at the suggestion, but she quickly regained her composure.
“You’re right,” she said, her voice steadying. “I was being impulsive. I need to find a way to hint to her that she shouldn’t go against the system directly.”
Ye Qinglan turned back toward the room, a new plan forming in her mind.
