- Chapter 1 - Sleep with me for one night, and I’ll give you 500,000
The lights in the bar flickered, dazzling and disorienting. Several unopened bottles of liquor sat on the table.
The moment he stepped inside, Bo Jianyan couldn’t help but frown. Impatience clouded his features as he pulled out his phone and tapped rapidly on the screen.
A “pit” of a friend had insisted that this class reunion was mandatory. Not long after arriving, Bo Jianyan had been forced to down several drinks. Unable to stand it any longer, he had escaped to this bar to hide.
While waiting for a reply, he glanced around out of boredom. His eyes landed on someone who looked completely out of place with the surroundings. From his angle, he could only see the man’s back, but interestingly, the stranger was knocking back drinks one after another.
It was as if he had no sensation at all.
Interesting, Bo Jianyan thought.
Seeing someone approach the man to flirt, Bo Jianyan became curious about his reaction. However, he was standing too far away to hear the conversation.
After only a few words, the solicitor seemed disgruntled. For some reason, he rolled up his sleeves and spat out a few curses.
Only then did Bo Jianyan hear him clearly: “I’m giving you face by offering to sleep with you. You’re just a Beta—what are you acting so innocent for?”
Bo Jianyan frowned. That was incredibly foul.
The man was likely drunk out of his mind; it was one thing to release pheromones at an Omega, but now he was frantically directing them at a Beta.
Bo Jianyan’s eyes turned cold.
Seeing that his pheromones were having no effect, the drunkard grew frustrated and raised his hand to strike.
Seeing the impending blow, Bo Jianyan didn’t hesitate. He intercepted the swinging hand mid-air, a playful yet sharp glint in his eyes. “What’s this? You have a few drinks and suddenly think being an Alpha makes you irresistible? Did no one teach you that we live in a society of laws?”
The man had only found his courage through alcohol. Now that he was stopped, his momentum faltered, though his tone remained aggressive: “Just wait until tomorrow, I’ll ruin you both!”
The man who had been harassed simply let out a flat, “Oh.” He added, “My name is Gu Huai. Make sure you don’t find the wrong person.”
Bo Jianyan let out a light, airy chuckle, completely dismissing the drunkard. “Fine by me.”
He ignored the man and silently committed the name “Gu Huai” to memory. It sounded quite nice.
Only now did Bo Jianyan get a clear look at the man’s face. He was stunning—the kind of beauty that made it impossible to look away. His shirt was a bit disheveled, but it did nothing to diminish his looks.
Perhaps having had too much to drink, the man reached up to undo his top button.
Taking advantage of the fact that he was a Beta and unaffected by Alpha pressure, Gu Huai didn’t bother to maintain his composure.
Watching the pale skin being exposed before him, Bo Jianyan felt a sudden, inexplicable wave of irritation. He snatched the drink out of Gu Huai’s hand. Only then did the man shift his gaze onto him, looking him up and down thoroughly.
The man stood up, swaying slightly.
Bo Jianyan watched the handsome face loom closer. Seeing him stumble, he instinctively reached out to steady him by the waist.
As if on purpose, Gu Huai took the opportunity to lean entirely into his arms.
Bo Jianyan narrowed his eyes. Throwing yourself at me?
Just then, his phone rang. He picked up, but before the person on the other end could speak, the man leaning on him spoke first. His tone was dead serious.
“An Alpha? Are you an Alpha? Sleep with me for one night, and I’ll give you 500,000.”
On the other end of the line, a voice blurted out, “Damm, Bo! You’re certainly playing… h-hard.”
Bo Jianyan expressionlessly hung up. His face froze for a moment as he looked at the man. “You’re drunk.”
“Also, I don’t do this for a living,” Bo Jianyan added, as if afraid of being misunderstood.
The man was very close now; Bo Jianyan could feel the hot breath against him. The physical contact and the man’s body heat were becoming… stirring.
Bo Jianyan felt a headache coming on. He was a man who hated trouble, but since he had already intervened, he had to see it through.
The man rested his head on Bo Jianyan’s shoulder, his voice devoid of clear emotion. “I’m not drunk. Are we doing this?”
Bo Jianyan chose to only acknowledge the first part. “Not drunk? Fine. Give me your address, I’m taking you home.”
When the man stopped responding, Bo Jianyan sighed and called his driver to pick them up. He was only in town for a business trip and had been dragged to the reunion; he hadn’t expected to encounter something like this.
While waiting by the roadside, he noticed the driver casting frequent glances at him and the man clinging to him. The driver’s face practically screamed “gossip.”
Just as Bo Jianyan was about to explain, Gu Huai pulled at him. “Sleep with me. I’ll treat you well. I have money.”
“Hey, and another thing… I’m a Beta.”
“Did you hear me? I said I’m a Beta,” Gu Huai repeated impatiently.
The driver felt like he had just stumbled upon the scoop of the century. His unimaginably wealthy boss was being propositioned as a “toy boy” by a sugar daddy? And it was a Beta?!
Bo Jianyan, of course, had no idea that in those ten minutes, his driver had already hallucinated an entire drama about an Alpha being kept by a Beta against his will.
The moment Bo Jianyan got the man into the hotel room, Gu Huai pinned him against the door. “With me… mm.”
Before he could finish, Bo Jianyan covered his mouth. “Be quiet.”
Seeing the corners of the man’s eyes flushed red from alcohol, Bo Jianyan’s Adam’s apple bobbed. The irritation in his heart deepened.
He really suspected he had picked up a lunatic; the man’s every word was “adults only.” But looking at that face, he couldn’t bring himself to be harsh. “Weren’t you just being harassed by…”
Before he could finish, the man frowned. “He was too ugly. Didn’t like him.”
So, while he was drinking back there, he was actually hand-picking someone he liked?
Bo Jianyan was speechless yet found it slightly hilarious. Gu Huai looked at him, tugging at his own clothes, his narrow eyes half-lidded as he threw out a provocative test: “You’re so handsome… you aren’t ‘incapable’ in that department, are you?”
“That would be a shame, considering you’re an Alpha.”
Bo Jianyan had been feeling the heat from the man’s teasing all the way there. Hearing this, he instantly flipped their positions, tilting the man’s face up and exerting his Alpha pressure. “Did no one ever tell you not to use the word ‘incapable’ with an Alpha?”
Gu Huai let out a muffled groan as Bo Jianyan pressed down on him. An assertive kiss swept over his lips, and it was a long time before they separated.
Bo Jianyan was no saint. With a bit of alcohol in his system and his pride as a man challenged, he could no longer hold back.
He roughly tore away the shirt, and a dense rain of kisses followed. He gave a light, punishing bite to the man’s shoulder.
Halfway through, seeing tears in the man’s eyes, Bo Jianyan moved to kiss him again. Gu Huai turned his head away awkwardly. “No kissing.”
Bo Jianyan gave a low “Mm.” Seeing the man tremble uncontrollably, he chuckled softly. “That’s not what you said when you were teasing me earlier.”
After it was over, Bo Jianyan showed some humanity and took the man to the bathroom to clean up. Hearing the occasional soft moans, Bo Jianyan felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
Gu Huai was woken up by a phone call. His mind was a mess. He reached out blindly for the phone and pressed answer.
A loud voice erupted from the other end: “Save me, Bo! Aaaaah!”
Gu Huai’s brain stalled. My last name is Gu. Wrong number. He muttered, “You have the wrong person,” and drifted back to sleep.
Bo Jianyan had slept reasonably well, but the persistent ringing eventually forced him to pick up. “Hello.”
“Holy crap, wait. Is this Bo Jianyan?”
Bo Jianyan wondered if his friend had a brain deficiency. His voice was lower than usual. “Yes.”
“No way! If you’re Bo Jianyan, who the hell just answered the phone???”
“Don’t speak yet, I’m thinking!!”
Before Bo Jianyan could get a word in, the other end continued: “Holy shit! It couldn’t be that person from yesterday who offered 500,000 to sleep with you, could it??”
Bo Jianyan’s tone was casual. “If it’s business, WeChat me. You’re too loud.” He hung up.
His WeChat was immediately bombarded.
Bo Jianyan got up and washed. Gu Huai was still asleep; it seemed he really had been exhausted last night.
Glancing at the messy floor, Bo Jianyan massaged his temples. Their clothes were scattered everywhere. Although he had dressed Gu Huai in one of his clean shirts after cleaning him up, it was clearly too large for him.
The room was filled with the scent of his pheromones. Bo Jianyan looked down and messaged his driver: “Bring two sets of clothes. One in my size, one a bit smaller.”
Only then did he check his messages. He nearly dropped his phone. In just a few minutes, there were dozens of notifications. After a quick scan, he couldn’t find a point.
Bo Jianyan typed: [Speak human.]
The other side settled down: [That annoying Client B is here and he’s being a nightmare. He’s made the staff cry.]
Bo Jianyan: [The point?]
After a long pause, the reply came: [Which part wasn’t the point?? Get to the office!]
Bo Jianyan looked at the sleeping man and typed: [No time.]
It wasn’t truly urgent; he had dealt with this difficult client four or five times already. The only difference was that the client got more troublesome with every visit.
The reply came instantly: [No way… did you actually sleep with someone??]
Bo Jianyan was silent for a few seconds. [What do you think?]
[You beast, Bo! I heard his voice just now—it was so raspy. Tsk tsk.] [How badly did you bully that poor little Omega?]
Bo Jianyan frowned. Was it really that bad…?
The driver soon arrived with the clothes. Seeing his boss waiting at the door in just a bathrobe, the driver noticed several distinct marks on his skin.
Those are definitely scratch marks!!
Who knew the usually cold boss was this kind of person?
Seeing the strange look in the driver’s eyes, Bo Jianyan felt like he had committed some sort of crime against humanity. Just as the driver was about to leave, Bo Jianyan called out, looking conflicted.
“You… go buy some anti-inflammatory ointment.”
Then he shut the door.
Driver: “…” Boss, you’re making me lose face at my age.
Gu Huai woke up feeling like he had been run over by a truck. Every inch of him ached. As he sat up, he saw the oversized shirt he was wearing, haphazardly buttoned, revealing a large area of ambiguous marks.
In the heat of the moment, that Alpha seemed to have forgotten he was a Beta and kept biting the back of his neck.
Between the alcohol and the activities, Gu Huai had a splitting headache.
Seeing him awake, Bo Jianyan approached considerately. “Are you alright?”
Gu Huai cursed him a hundred times in his head. Alright, my ass. You didn’t stop once when I was begging you last night.
Alphas really were beasts.
But at least the man had cleaned him up. Without looking up, he muttered, “I’m fine. I’m going to take a shower.”
He didn’t realize how weak he was until he stood up. His legs nearly gave out.
Bo Jianyan caught him quickly, joking, “Is this another ‘throwing yourself at me’ moment?”
Gu Huai’s body stiffened, and he fled into the bathroom.
Looking at himself in the mirror, covered in hickeys, Gu Huai felt the hot water hit him and felt slightly more alive. But then he realized a problem: he had nothing to wear out.
He was so mortified he wanted to hit a wall. The shirt he had been wearing was now wet. He couldn’t wear it out unless he wanted to look practically naked. He wasn’t some kind of exhibitionist.
After a long internal struggle, he decided to speak up, only to realize he didn’t even know the man’s name.
Finally, he called out, “Hey!”
Bo Jianyan, who was currently reading the instructions on the ointment from the driver, was startled. He thought something had happened.
He hurried over to see Gu Huai’s head peeking out from the door, wet hair dripping. It was a sight that made it hard to look directly at him.
“Do you have clothes?” Gu Huai asked.
Bo Jianyan handed them over. “See if these fit.”
Once Gu Huai changed and came out, he saw Bo Jianyan reading a manual. He hesitated before saying, “About last night…”
Bo Jianyan looked up. “I might have hurt you last night. I had someone buy some ointment. Apply it and see if it helps.”
Gu Huai’s hand shook. “…?” Who wanted to talk about that?!
Seeing his silence, Bo Jianyan frowned. Was it really that serious? He continued, “If it’s inconvenient for you to apply it yourself, I can help.”
Gu Huai: “???”
He lowered his head, his red ears betraying his emotions. “Yesterday was voluntary. I wasn’t drunk. You don’t need to take responsibility.”
“Also, take this card. There’s 500,000 on it.”
He tossed the card at Bo Jianyan.
Bo Jianyan was stunned. Before he could say a word, the man had already bolted out the door.
Now it was Bo Jianyan’s turn to be bewildered.
The medicine was still in his hand…
