After Entering a Contract Marriage with a Disabled Alpha - Chapter 31
When Pei Yu was pulled into a firm embrace and held tightly by Qin Shen, their bodies pressed flush against each other. Only then did Pei Yu realize how “fired up” Qin Shen truly was; the breath hitting his ear was scalding.
The searing heat he had felt in his palm earlier surged again. Pei Yu’s eyelashes trembled as he instinctively tried to pull away.
But then, he stopped. He didn’t run.
Qin Shen, who had planned to catch him the moment he tried to bolt, was slightly surprised.
Not running this time?
“Aren’t you afraid of this?” Qin Shen’s voice was raspy.
His desire hadn’t subsided in the slightest. Logically, to maintain self-control, he should have kept his distance. The three-meter-wide bed was massive, more than enough for two people to sleep without touching. But rather than retreating to his side to regain his composure, he didn’t want to leave Pei Yu’s side for a second.
Half a meter was too far, and twenty minutes was too long. He simply wanted to hold Pei Yu like this forever.
Pei Yu was very thin. As Qin Shen rested his chin in the crook of the boy’s neck, he realized how prominent the boy’s shoulder blades felt. There was hardly any meat on his bones.
“I am afraid, but I suppose it’s fine to endure it for a bit,” Pei Yu said with a flushed face, his back to Qin Shen. After all, Qin Shen had been so considerate in helping him earlier; if it was just a bit of friction, he felt he should bear it.
Besides, he didn’t dislike it.
“Is all the weight you’ve gained concentrated right here?”
Qin Shen shifted forward slightly. “Starting tomorrow, I’m going to strictly supervise your meals and your exercise.”
Pei Yu: ” ”
The “presence” behind him was truly impossible to ignore.
With a burning face, his voice took on a trace of a spoiled pout. “I get it, I get it. I’ll eat more from now on.”
Pillowed on Qin Shen’s arm and enveloped by the slow, drifting scent of the Alpha’s crisp, cold pheromones, Pei Yu gradually drifted off. In the dim room, the boy’s breathing became slow and shallow.
Qin Shen listened for a while, inhaling the rich fragrance of the “Little Rose.” He slowly lowered his head and pressed a kiss onto the boy’s fair, slender nape.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
Early the next morning, before the sun had even risen, Qin Shen opened his eyes. His first instinct was to look at Pei Yu.
After a night of tossing and turning, Pei Yu had rolled into his arms. Using Qin Shen as a body pillow, the boy had his hands looped around Qin Shen’s arm and his long legs draped intimately over the man’s waist.
In sleep, Pei Yu was quiet and looked incredibly well-behaved. His long, thick lashes rested against his cheeks, and the corners of his mouth were slightly curled as if he were having a pleasant dream.
Qin Shen didn’t wake him immediately. He picked up his phone from the nightstand to check his email and WeChat. Before he knew it, twenty minutes had passed. He briefly summarized the events of the previous night and instructed Li Shuang to find someone to investigate.
Years ago, when he first took over the Qin Corporation, many veteran shareholders were defiant. During the fiercest period of the power struggle, Qin Shen had needed to conduct private investigations, and Li Shuang was his contact for those types of services.
When Li Shuang received the message, he was surprised to see it was a private matter. Li Shuang: [Understood, President Qin. I’ll have someone look into it immediately.]
Li Shuang then sent over a PDF of the pheromone test results from a few days prior. Li Shuang: [Dr. Lu asked me to relay that a specific treatment plan is attached at the end of the file. You can take a look, and if there are any issues, I’ll follow up with him.]
The file finished downloading in seconds. Qin Shen scanned it quickly.
The report confirmed that Pei Yu’s pheromones had a highly effective therapeutic effect on him. The more pheromones they exchanged, the more stable Qin Shen’s Alpha glands became. With the help of medication, the more intimate the interaction between “Destined AOs,” the higher the probability of a full recovery from Pheromone Disorder.
As for how long it would take, it depended on the degree, frequency, and duration of the pheromone exchange. Detailed data would require further study.
As expected, everything from long hugs and kissing to temporary and permanent marking could stabilize his condition.
An Alpha’s rut usually occurs two or three times a year, but Qin Shen’s frequency was higher. During a rut, an Alpha’s need for an Omega is immense; they crave them intensely, triggering primal hunting instincts, and their desire for control and possession skyrockets.
Because Qin Shen was a high-level Alpha with a disorder, his ruts were several times more agonizing than a normal Alpha’s. Since he refused to find a random Omega for comfort, he simply had to endure it. Before every rut, he would clear his schedule and lock himself in his villa.
During those times, the Beta housekeeper would leave food for him. By the time the rut ended, not a single piece of furniture in the bedroom would be intact. The housekeeper could only imagine how terrifying Qin Shen became when he lost control.
Qin Shuo had always been worried, pressuring Qin Shen to find an Omega. But Qin Shen didn’t want to be beholden to anyone. Since he didn’t self-harm, he felt the problem wasn’t that serious; it was just pain.
Now that Pei Yu was here, his disorder and ruts would be well-managed.
The report stated: It is recommended that the two parties undergo a permanent marking as soon as possible, as a permanent mark will further assist.
Qin Shen ignored that sentence entirely.
Hugs, kisses, and other intimate exchanges were enough for him for now. Pei Yu was still young; a permanent mark was too heavy a responsibility and simply unreliable at this stage.
Every Alpha wants to permanently mark their Omega to make them belong to them entirely. Qin Shen both wanted it and didn’t. The “want” was subconscious, buried in his bones, but his reason suppressed it deep within his heart. He didn’t want to do such a thing while Pei Yu was so young and hadn’t truly fallen for him yet.
Qin Shen looked down at Pei Yu, who was sleeping soundly in his arms, and let out a silent, soft laugh. Closing his phone, he realized it was time for their workout. He gently shook Pei Yu.
“It’s time. You need to get up and exercise.”
Qin Shen’s low, sexy voice drifted into Pei Yu’s ear like a cloud. It carried a hint of a smile and a trace of doting. Pei Yu shifted slightly but didn’t open his eyes.
Usually, at this time, Pei Yu would get up on his own, wash up, and read at his desk for a bit before school. But for some reason, he was so drowsy today that he didn’t want to wake up at all.
The air conditioning kept the room cool, and Pei Yu was snuggled in a warm, comfortable bed with Qin Shen. The scent of crisp cedar and mint surrounded him.
It was too comfortable. Much better than sleeping alone.
“Are you awake? If you’re awake, get up and get ready.” Qin Shen propped himself up on one arm, his hand gently stroking the boy’s soft hair.
So itchy.
Pei Yu mumbled a few times, his lashes fluttering. Drowsiness washed over him; every cell in his body was suggesting he should stay in bed. He moved his leg, his slender ankle brushing against Qin Shen’s leg. Almost instantly, a wave of tingling heat spread across Qin Shen’s skin.
Morning is naturally a sensitive time. Moreover, the man lying next to Pei Yu was an Alpha who had been suppressing himself, who liked Pei Yu, and who had been restrained for a long time.
Qin Shen’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He remembered they had to exercise, and he couldn’t let Pei Yu’s legs just wander around. Thus, a dry, large palm easily encircled the boy’s slim, white ankle. The man’s calloused thumb lightly scraped over the bone.
In just two or three strokes, Pei Yu’s leg went numb. It felt like an electric current was making his spine tingle.
“Mmm.” Pei Yu let out a soft sound.
“Don’t kick me,” Qin Shen said huskily.
Pei Yu had zero resistance to the man’s voice. His ankle felt tingly and weak, and he snapped his leg back. “What are you doing?”
Not fully awake, his voice was soft and sweet, sounding very much like he was acting spoiled.
“Nothing. Didn’t we agree to get up and exercise?” The corners of Qin Shen’s eyes tilted upward as he looked at the bed-lounging Pei Yu with amusement.
Previously, when he passed Pei Yu’s room in the morning, the light was always on. Occasionally, he could hear the boy reciting English or poetry; Pei Yu was incredibly diligent. But now, he was like a lazy cat, refusing to leave the bed.
The itch in Qin Shen’s heart grew. He couldn’t resist teasing the drowsy cat. He reached out and ruffled the boy’s hair, his fingers sliding down to pinch a snow-white earlobe. Leaning in, he pressed his lips to Pei Yu’s ear and lowered his voice into a coaxing whisper.
“Are you that sleepy? Didn’t you say you wanted to build up your strength so you could help me later?”
“Don’t tell me Baby was just saying that to make me happy.”
The hot breath Qin Shen exhaled made Pei Yu shrink his neck. He replied dizzily, “No, I want to, just sleepy.”
“Let me sleep a little longer, just five more minutes.” Pei Yu softened his voice, even holding up five trembling fingers.
“Five minutes?” Qin Shen grabbed Pei Yu’s wrist and gave his palm a squeeze. After counting to five in his head, he spoke mischievously: “Five minutes are up. Time to get up.”
How could it be that fast?
Pei Yu was exhausted. His lashes fluttered, revealing a pair of beautiful light-brown eyes. He rubbed his face against the pillow again.
“Five, five more minutes, I’ll definitely get up then,” Pei Yu murmured softly.
“Unless,” Qin Shen looked down, a tender smile in his eyes. “Unless you call me Husband.”
Pei Yu, who was already half-asleep and dazed, couldn’t possibly process the weight of that sentence.
“Call me Husband.”
Hearing that low, cold, yet mature voice again, Pei Yu’s brain felt like an incredibly slow computer. Without thinking, he blurted out: “Husband.”
A piece of the softest part of Qin Shen’s heart immediately collapsed.
His pheromones almost became uncontrollable, wanting to invade every inch of the boy’s skin, to surround Pei Yu completely and feel his heat and vitality.
“Mm.”
Qin Shen narrowed his eyes in satisfaction, his fingers idly playing with Pei Yu’s hair.
Pei Yu, no longer being urged to get up, first let out a smug little smile. A few seconds later, the disconnected signal in his brain finally reconnected.
Husband?
HUSBAND!
His long lashes blinked rapidly. It was as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head. Pei Yu was suddenly wide awake, his sleepiness gone. His face turned a deep, embarrassed red. He turned his head and looked up, only to see a teasing, half-smile in Qin Shen’s eyes.
I said yesterday I would only call him that once!
Pei Yu bit his lip hard, wishing he could stuff his humiliated brain directly into the down pillow. He didn’t want to live anymore.
Pei Yu gripped the corner of the pillow tightly, his legs kicking back and forth. He took the opportunity to deliberately kick Qin Shen a few times, making a mess of the duvet.
A soft chuckle reached his ears. Knowing that Qin Shen was laughing at him again made the shame even worse. He sat there in a daze for a long time before remembering he had to hold the man accountable.
How could he trick him while he was sleepy?
Pei Yu stopped thrashing and lifted his head, parting his lips to start scolding.
“Wife is so good,” Qin Shen said softly.
“…”
“…”
Pei Yu felt like he’d been struck by lightning. He was completely stunned and only reacted several seconds later. He lunged into a sitting position, looking at Qin Shen with a mix of shame and annoyance. “Don’t call me!”
It was too embarrassing. Pei Yu stammered, unable to force the word out.
“Wife?” Qin Shen helpfully finished for him.
“!!!”
“You did that on purpose!”
“You’re not allowed to call me that.”
Pei Yu was kneeling on the bed. A ray of morning light spilled in, kissing the side of the boy’s face. His soft hair and eyelashes were coated in a layer of golden light.
“But Baby was the one who called me Husband first,” Qin Shen countered.
Pei Yu was left speechless. He stared blankly at Qin Shen’s handsome features and bit his lip hard. “Anyway, you can’t call me that.”
What kind of situation is this?
“I know, I know.” Qin Shen felt that teasing him further would be too mean.
Pei Yu was still immersed in his massive embarrassment. His fingers twisted together, and his teeth left small marks on his pale pink, shimmering lips. Bathed in the morning light, the boy looked almost ethereal.
Qin Shen stared for a few seconds, his heart thumping wildly in his chest. He took hold of Pei Yu’s slender fingertips. To Pei Yu’s wide-eyed surprise, Qin Shen leaned in.
He wanted to give him a light kiss.
But as their lips merely brushed, Pei Yu panicked and leaned back, his waist arching as he started to fall backward. Qin Shen’s reactions were swift; his long, powerful forearm hooked around Pei Yu’s lower back and pulled him forward.
Due to the momentum, Pei Yu fell right back into Qin Shen’s arms. The large hand resting on his waist gave him a firm squeeze. A tingly, numb sensation spread from his lower back to his entire body, and Pei Yu’s cheeks flushed instantly.
Immediately following that, his chin was tilted up by a large hand. Qin Shen leaned closer as if he were going to kiss him.
Pei Yu’s head was spinning and his heart was racing. This is way too stimulating for first thing in the morning.
With hot eyelids, he called for a stop: “No, no kissing.”
“Hmm?” Qin Shen stroked the delicate skin of Pei Yu’s chin with his thumb. “I can’t even have one kiss?”
Pei Yu looked into the man’s ink-dark eyes. With his heart pounding, he stammered out a random excuse: “I, I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
“Heh,” Qin Shen laughed. “The scent of Little Roses should be sweet. I don’t mind.”
Seeing that Qin Shen was still so enthusiastic, a crimson blush bloomed on Pei Yu’s cheeks. He covered his mouth and looked at Qin Shen with watery, light-brown eyes.
He said tentatively, “I meant, you haven’t brushed your teeth! I mind!”
The words landed, and Qin Shen paused. His expression darkened slightly as he looked at Pei Yu with a half-smile.
“Fine. I’ll go brush my teeth first,” he said, the words sounding like they were squeezed from his throat.
The chin that had been pinched red was finally released. Pei Yu breathed a sigh of relief and sluggishly lay back down, pulling the soft duvet over himself lazily.
Qin Shen, just about to get up, saw him lying back down.
“You’re already up, and you’re going back to bed?”
Pei Yu gave a soft huff. “I already called you that. If I don’t sleep for five more minutes, it’s a total loss for me.”
Qin Shen: ” ”
Seeing him thwarted, Pei Yu’s mood instantly soared. He secretly curled his lips into a smile, which eventually broke into a string of giggles that echoed through the spacious bedroom.
“Are you making fun of me?” There was a hint of a smile in Qin Shen’s tone.
“Yeah, I’m laughing at you. What are you going to do about it?” Pei Yu blinked, his eyes full of playful mischief. He had the upper hand and was relishing his victory.
Smack!
Through the thin duvet, the sound of the slap was a bit muffled.
“I really can’t do anything to you,” Qin Shen said, looking down and withdrawing his hand. “Just a small punishment.”
For five full seconds, Pei Yu was too stunned by the sheer shame of having his butt smacked to recover. His entire face burned a bright red. Even though he was hit through the quilt, it felt as if nothing were between them.
When he was hit, Pei Yu even felt his flesh quiver slightly.
The shame spread from his ears to his neck. Pei Yu licked his lips.
“The feel was quite good,” Qin Shen added, sounding entirely too dignified.
Pei Yu was officially furious.
“Qin Shen!”
“You actually hit my butt! I’m going to hit you back!”
