After Dating the President O, I Turned Into a Puppy-Like Lover - Chapter 52.2
Before she could thank her or share her thoughts, Wu Qing’s voice drifted from the poolside.
“Time to eat. If we’re late, all the good dishes will be gone.”
The two climbed out of the pool, one after the other.
Wu Qing gave them a strange look, wide-eyed. “Dan Dan, Omegas aren’t supposed to expose themselves like that. What were you thinking?”
She had never known Sirou to be so careless, which made it all the more surprising.
Sirou froze, suddenly aware.
She exchanged a glance with Jiang He. Jiang He said, “I’ll go change.”
“Mm,” Sirou murmured. Neither spoke further.
Jiang He changed out of her wet swimsuit, her mind replaying the scene at the poolside.
Thinking back, Sirou’s attitude toward her did seem different from before.
Her heart stirred.
She had a question she desperately wanted to confirm.
That afternoon, Sirou couldn’t sleep.
She and Jiang He had agreed to meet at three to continue practicing at the pool. Time ticked away as she stared out the window, doing nothing yet watching the minutes slip by.
Three o’clock approached.
She hesitated. Should she go?
Wu Qing’s words echoed in her mind.
Lately, she had been treating Jiang He differently. From the start, she had covered for her again and again, unable to bear punishing her. Later, she had even entered her heat early because of her. If those had reasons, then what about now?
She knew something was wrong, yet she hadn’t stopped herself, letting Jiang He’s warm breath pull her deeper.
Sirou leaned back in her chair, biting her lip.
Three o’clock arrived. She decided not to go.
From now on, she would keep her distance.
Even if she admitted reluctantly that she felt something for Jiang He, it would fade. Without meeting, without pheromones, no feeling could last.
Since she had already decided, then.
One last meeting wouldn’t hurt. They had agreed, and she wasn’t one to break promises.
Resolved, she waited for Jiang He’s message.
They had agreed to meet downstairs at the dorm.
Time passed, but Jiang He never came.
Sirou called her. No answer.
She tried again, even a voice call. Still nothing.
Something felt wrong.
So, she called Zhou Yi. Zhou answered nervously, “P-President.” Clearly, she hadn’t checked the caller ID before picking up.
Sirou wanted to ask about Jiang He, but seeing Zhou Yi’s panic, she kept to her duty. “Where are you?”
“I.” Zhou Yi thought someone had reported her and confessed immediately. “I’m at the hot springs. Hahaha.”
Sirou frowned.
“I, I have a permission slip!” Zhou Yi added quickly.
Sirou nodded, knowing it wasn’t worth arguing over the phone. She would deal with Zhou Yi later. For now, she needed to know about Jiang He.
“Is Jiang He with you?”
“No, President. You were looking for my boss?” Zhou Yi said, clueless.
She didn’t know where Jiang He was either.
Sirou hung up.
After thinking it over, she decided to check Jiang He’s dorm. Maybe she was asleep.
The corridor was quiet, a breeze brushing past her ears. Sirou’s heart felt heavy. Perhaps because of past unpleasant experiences, she feared something had gone wrong. Even if she had resolved to keep her distance, whether out of lingering feelings or simple human concern, she had to find Jiang He.
At Jiang He’s door, she knocked.
The door was ajar. With a slight push, it opened.
A strong milky scent rushed out. Sirou frowned, hesitated, then stepped inside.
“Jiang He?” she called softly, her voice more tender than she expected.
The scent grew stronger, filling the room, stirring her instincts.
In the corner, Jiang He crouched, her head resting on her arms, brows furrowed, lashes casting shadows.
She seemed to be fighting herself, biting her lip, trembling.
“Jiang He.” Sirou stepped closer, shocked. Just that morning she had been fine, how had she become like this so suddenly?
She must have entered her susceptibility period.
The agreement was long over, and Sirou didn’t know the exact timing of Jiang He’s cycle.
“Don’t come closer.” Jiang He’s voice was strained, sensing her approach. She bit down hard, trying to stop her.
“Stay away. Leave now. I’ll hurt you.”
