- Chapter 71 - IF - How to Take First Place in the Grade?: "I am yours."
“Let… let go.”
Zhu Songning’s hands were still tightly gripping her waist, confining her within her embrace.
Shen Qingyu could feel Zhu’s body gradually growing hot; the hands resting behind her waist were scalding. Her eyes, in particular, were like those of an animal—even when looking away, they carried an incredibly powerful sense of aggression.
At this moment, the emotions in Zhu Songning’s heart had become incomparably complex. Her hand hesitated for a moment, but she still didn’t let go of Shen Qingyu. However, she used her other hand to help pull Shen’s clothes together.
The belt had fallen to the floor. For a moment, she couldn’t find anything to tie the robe with, so she could only keep a firm grip on the edges of the bathrobe with her hand.
Shen Qingyu hadn’t anticipated this situation. She looked at Zhu Songning.
“Dummy.”
She took control of her bathrobe from Zhu Songning’s hand. But because her movements were a bit hasty and agitated, the overly wide collar slipped from her shoulder again, revealing half of her snow-white, jade-like shoulder.
Zhu Songning’s body temperature seemed to rise even higher. It wasn’t just her body; even her usually clear mind was burning up. She thought silently to herself: Fortunately, I didn’t actually start writing the problems. Based on my current mental capacity, I’d probably get every single one wrong.
The even more absurd part was that she had originally come to find Shen Qingyu to work on problems—taking the opportunity to secretly observe her methods and thought process—so why on earth had things inexplicably developed to this point?!
It felt like in the next second, things were going to head in an “18+” direction!
Shen Qingyu seemed to have thought of this as well. Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed the test paper Zhu Songning had brought over and the two pens on the table. She was momentarily stunned.
Zhu Songning… truly was a blockhead.
But to say she knew nothing at all would be wrong; she had dared to take the initiative to kiss her, and now she was holding onto her and refusing to let go.
Seeing that Zhu still refused to let her down, and knowing it was exhausting to sit upright like this, Shen Qingyu simply leaned back. She rested her head on Zhu Songning’s shoulder and, following suit, wrapped her other hand around Zhu’s waist.
That exposed shoulder rubbed against Zhu Songning’s body.
Suddenly, Zhu Songning felt that Shen Qingyu was like a beautiful vine plant, winding around her as she grew. Her teeth lightly pressed against Zhu’s throat, making her seem like a venomous snake—pretending to be obedient, but ready to bite through her neck when she was off guard.
As soon as Shen Qingyu moved closer, the scent of her body mixed with the smell of shower gel became even more apparent, making Zhu Songning’s head spin further.
The beauty’s hand moved suggestively around her waist, and her voice rang out from beneath Zhu’s chin.
“I remembered,” Shen Qingyu said to her. “Didn’t you want to do some problems?”
Zhu Songning didn’t know what she was planning and didn’t dare to answer immediately.
Seeing that she didn’t reply, Shen Qingyu didn’t keep her in suspense. She continued, “Write then.”
Zhu Songning: “Huh?”
Zhu Songning: “Right now?”
What did she mean?
Things had already developed to this point, and she wasn’t going to follow the “script”? Hugging, kissing… what comes next?
Before Zhu Songning could count them off one by one, Shen Qingyu threw the pen to her.
“What are you thinking about?”
Shen Qingyu gestured with her chin toward the test paper on the desk.
“Let me see the standard of the second-place student in the grade.”
If anyone else had said those words, Zhu Songning would have certainly taken it as a sincere compliment and accepted it happily. But now, the person calling her “perpetual second place” was the number one student in the grade.
How hateful!
Zhu Songning: “Then get off of me first.”
Shen Qingyu shifted her gaze back to Zhu Songning’s expression.
“Are you angry? Who was the one refusing to let me go just now, no matter what I said?”
Shen Qingyu didn’t move an inch; she just shifted her position.
“Just write like this. If you can’t even resist this much interference, I think it will be hard for you to stay focused during an exam.”
A little bit of interference?
Zhu Songning glared at her. You call this a little bit of interference?
However, to admit verbally that Shen Qingyu was a massive distraction was something Zhu Songning couldn’t bring herself to do. She could only swallow her pride and suffer in silence.
Shen Qingyu said, “Write well. If you get one wrong, I’ll punish you.”
She turned on the desk lamp, and the bright light momentarily dazzled Zhu Songning’s eyes.
The night outside the window had deepened considerably. From here, one could overlook the lights of the entire city. Looking at the lights of ten thousand homes from a high vantage point often evokes a sense of loneliness. But tonight, Zhu Songning’s arrival had significantly diluted that emotion for her.
When Zhu Songning worked on problems, she became a completely different person—instantly becoming focused. She entered the “zone” very quickly.
Her black pen briefly underlined key points in the questions, and then she performed calculations on the scratch paper.
No faults could be found in her problem-solving logic, but she was overly cautious and careful. An exam is not like usual practice; if one spends too much time calculating every step for the early questions, the time left for the final “pressure” questions will inevitably be compressed.
Shen Qingyu watched her for a while. The first page of multiple-choice questions was finished, and so far, she hadn’t found any errors. This “grade number two” definitely had some skill.
Though, she was still not as good as her.
Shen Qingyu nestled in her lap, feeling quite bored. In truth, letting Zhu Songning do the problems was just to see what issues existed in her methods. Now that she had roughly figured it out, whether the rest were finished was irrelevant.
Zhu Songning didn’t have any gaps in her knowledge; her foundation was solid. She looked like the type of “good student” that teachers adore. But seeing her so seriously immersed, Shen Qingyu couldn’t quite bring herself to interrupt her.
In the silent room, the only sound was the shh-shh of the pen rubbing against the paper.
Shen Qingyu’s hand stealthily slid down. Catching Zhu Songning off guard, she gave her thigh a hard squeeze.
The pen left a long black ink streak across the test paper, the point of impact blooming into a dark smudge. Zhu Songning’s heart fluttered, and her train of thought instantly snapped.
“Focus,” Shen Qingyu whispered, biting her ear. Instead of stopping, her movements became even more bold. A faint upward curve appeared on her lips as her hand slipped beneath the hem of Zhu Songning’s shirt.
Unsurprisingly, she was a star student who even earned full marks in physical education; rumor had it she was even on the school high jump team and had won national awards representing the school.
Her abdomen was firm; when tensed, the outlines of her abdominal muscles became even more palpable.
Zhu Songning’s hand holding the pen was shaking, and the handwriting on the scratch paper grew increasingly scrawled.
Shen Qingyu’s hands were like her personality—unbelievably soft. She stroked all the way up from Zhu’s abdomen, propped up the waistband of her trousers, and slipped her hand inside. Her fingertips tapped rhythmically against the prominent ridge of Zhu’s iliac bone, yet she refused to go any further, as if she were intentionally trying to torture her.
Zhu Songning had seen those hands before: delicate and fair, with nails that shimmered with a faint, tender pink under the light, whether from polish or their natural hue.
She filled in an answer on the line based on mechanical memory, but suddenly felt Shen Qingyu’s hand seem to move a step lower.
“You got this question wrong.”
While Shen Qingyu was busy teasing her, she actually had enough focus left to look at the problems she was writing.
“Fifth line on the scratch paper. You made a mistake in the addition and subtraction.”
Zhu Songning followed her gaze, and sure enough, she had made a very low-level blunder exactly where Shen pointed out.
“I’m going to punish you,” Shen Qingyu said, using a commanding tone. “Come here and give me a kiss.”
The pen and test paper were heartlessly cast aside. Amidst Shen Qingyu’s startled cry, Zhu Songning actually picked her up directly. Supporting her with her hands, Zhu stood up, pressed a kiss down upon her, kicked the chair away, and walked toward the bed. To maintain her balance, Shen Qingyu had no choice but to wrap her arms around Zhu’s neck, her legs parted and clamped around Zhu’s waist.
Backs hit the soft, large bed. In a world-spinning blur, Zhu Songning followed the momentum and pressed down, kissing her once more.
She looked up at Shen Qingyu, the corners of her eyes flushed red and filled with a watery sheen—the image of someone reaching the absolute limit of her patience.
This kiss was far more intense than the last, like a violent storm, plundering the air from Shen Qingyu’s mouth, entangling her tongue, wrapping and licking in a clash of lips and teeth.
Shen Qingyu couldn’t take it; she beat her hands frantically against Zhu’s shoulders until Zhu finally pulled back.
Huge gulps of fresh air rushed back into her mouth. Shen Qingyu gasped, her breathing ragged.
“What kind of madness is this now?”
“Nothing.”
Zhu Songning rolled over, changing from a position pressing down on her to lying flat by her side.
“Didn’t you want me to kiss you?”
“But not that way!” Shen Qingyu immediately retorted. “Can’t you… be a bit gentler?”
Zhu Songning propped herself up on her elbows: “Then why don’t you give me a demonstration?”
Shen Qingyu felt stifled for a long time. She didn’t move or speak; she simply stared into Zhu Songning’s eyes for three seconds before suddenly burying her head in the quilt, letting out a muffled curse.
“Are you staying tonight?” Shen Qingyu’s voice sounded muffled through the layer of the blanket.
“Mhm.” Zhu Songning nodded.
She had come over today after already taking a shower.
She also crawled into the covers and put her arms around Shen Qingyu. Feeling the body in her arms stiffen, she added, “I won’t do anything. Just sleep.”
A warm current rose in Shen Qingyu’s heart, as if Zhu Songning’s body heat was being transferred to her through their contact.
But immediately after, she heard the person say: “Sleep early. I’ve set an alarm for 6:30 tomorrow morning. We’re getting up to memorize vocabulary and texts.”
Shen Qingyu: “…………!”
It’s Sunday! Is this something a human being would do?
Shen Qingyu twisted around: “Don’t you want to surpass me and become number one in the grade? Why are you taking me along to study?”
She really, really did not want to wake up at 6:30 on a Sunday!
Just as Zhu Songning was about to answer, she realized something was wrong.
“I want to become number one in the grade?” she asked slowly. “Who told you that?”
Aside from that one day when she and Luo Chuanhe were looking at the grades together, she had never mentioned this to a second person.
Shen Qingyu: “My keychain fell off that day. When I went back to find it, I accidentally overheard your conversation.”
This included the part where Luo Chuanhe gave her the bad advice to try and date her.
“But I really didn’t expect your execution to be so strong. Truly.”
She had actually come to confess.
Zhu Songning: “…………”
So for all this time, her plan had been a failure from the very start!
With a cold face, she made to roll out of bed, but her hand was caught by Shen Qingyu.
“Hey, don’t be in such a hurry.” She was smiling radiantly. “Isn’t the ‘number one in the grade’ yours now anyway?”
I am yours.
Zhu Songning had never intended to distract her from her studies; she was even clumsily trying to bring her along to improve together.
It was the first time Shen Qingyu had met someone like this—clean and pure to a miraculous degree. Even her minor flaws were endearing.
She gave Zhu Songning a tiny peck on the cheek.
“Girlfriend, please look after me from now on.”
