After Breaking Up with the Stoic CEO - Chapter 36
Chapter 36: Which Position to Use
Since the decision was made, Lu Wu looked up the reservation process for entering the park.
“There’s a family ticket for two adults and one child.”
“Oh… and a family annual pass. It seems much more cost-effective. If Rui Rui likes it, we can get an annual pass later and go often.”
The emphasis in both sentences fell on the word “family.” Li Jin saw exactly what she was planning but pretended not to notice. Handling the latest work messages on her phone, she replied flatly.
“I’ll have the driver pick up Rui Rui tomorrow morning.”
“Okay.”
Lu Wu planned the schedule in her head, booked the tickets, and browsed a few strategy guides. Seeing that Li Jin was busy, she didn’t disturb her. Once she was mostly ready, she put down her phone and went back to watching TV.
The TV was on the economics channel, replaying the evening financial news.
‘The reporter learned from the National Financial Regulatory Administration on the 29th that the administration held a meeting recently, requiring…’
Normally, this was content Lu Wu had zero interest in. However, because Li Group or Li Jin’s name might appear between the lines at any time, she had recently become somewhat able to watch it.
Just as Qin Xu admired, Li Jin came from an extraordinary background and possessed brilliant talent. Since her student days, she had always been the one her peers looked up to and chased after. Later, taking control of the Li Group, it took her only a few years to leap into becoming a top entrepreneur known to everyone in the financial venture capital world.
The intersection of Lu Wu and Li Jin’s worlds was truly limited. She didn’t understand finance, nor the hidden depths behind policies and corporate decisions. Only by watching more could she catch a slight glimpse through the professional terminology of what Li Jin saw standing at the pinnacle.
The air was quiet, leaving only the sound of the reporter and the host talking via link.
Li Jin finished her work and looked up slightly. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the news playing on the TV and Lu Wu sitting beside her, watching it with a frown.
She asked, somewhat puzzled, “What are you doing?”
Hearing Li Jin’s voice, Lu Wu turned around, a genuine smile appearing on her face.
“Are you finished? I’m watching the evening news.”
It was an obvious fact; that wasn’t what Li Jin was asking.
“If you don’t like it, you can change the channel. The remote is on the coffee table.”
Lu Wu explained solemnly, “I know. I’m just curious about what you do usually.”
Li Jin paused for a few seconds. “You don’t need to do this.”
Lu Wu let out an “oh.”
“Then I won’t watch TV. I’ll just watch you.”
Li Jin: “…”
Lu Wu laughed again and winked at her. “Speechless now, aren’t you?”
Li Jin looked up, swept her gaze over the other’s proud expression, and stood up to get the remote. Lu Wu didn’t block her movements, sitting on the sofa and waiting. As Li Jin passed in front of her, their distance suddenly became very close once again.
Lu Wu saw a strand of hair fall slowly, swept across the tip of her nose by a cool breeze, bringing an unignorable itch and the light scent of shower gel. The shower gel was an elegant white tea fragrance, a different scent from the one in the guest room. The fragrance grew stronger as the distance closed and then faded as it pulled away—fleeting and elusive, stirring up desire but remaining tantalizingly out of reach.
Lu Wu instinctively took a deep breath, but at that moment, she locked eyes with Li Jin. Those eyes held a faint annoyance and a trace of indecipherable scrutiny.
“What are you sniffing?”
It was like a criminal being caught red-handed at the crime scene. Lu Wu knew her behavior was improper and felt momentarily embarrassed. She didn’t speak, sitting properly in place and sulking, putting on the obedient look of someone who had learned their lesson.
Li Jin didn’t press further. She sat back down and pressed a button on the remote. The TV screen switched to the movie channel. She had intended to pass the time with whatever movie was on, but the timing was unfortunate.
The movie channel was playing a classic romance film from East Asia. On the bed, two people were kissing, the imagery beautiful. Between the shifts in camera angles and perspectives, every involuntary movement reflected the love the protagonists hid in their hearts but couldn’t say—and a tension-filled desire that almost overflowed from the screen.
The Harman Kardon speakers demonstrated their superior power at this moment. Under the effect of the ultimate surround sound and dynamic range, hurried breathing and broken moans were amplified bit by bit, making one feel as if they were right there, hearing it close to their ears.
Li Jin realized what was happening and quickly switched the channel. Lu Wu swallowed, her peripheral vision catching a circle of flushed red spreading behind the other woman’s fair neck.
The TV switched back to the finance channel. No one spoke to break the abrupt silence, but the air was no longer as monotonous or cool as before.
Before burning lava flows into the sea, there is a precursor: small bubbles slowly rise from the bottom of the water, followed by a sizzle as the two merge and boil. Sensing that something might happen, Lu Wu’s heart surged with a tumultuous tide that could no longer be calmed.
She looked at Li Jin. The other woman had showered; in her completely bare-faced state, her whole person had changed a lot. Without the aura bestowed by makeup, she looked a bit tired and somewhat soft. In short, she didn’t look as cold or distant as she did during the day, nor was she forcefully intimidating.
It made one want to care for and protect her, but also to possess and crush her, to hear that melodious cool voice call one’s own name in a hurried, uncontrollable way.
Lu Wu’s voice was somewhat husky.
“Li Jin. I’ve learned some more techniques and methods to make people feel comfortable. Do you want to check the results of my studies?”
Li Jin raised her eyelids, colliding directly with the overflowing and intense possessiveness in the young woman’s eyes. Once again, it was a blunt and explicit proposition. But this time, she was very obedient, doing only what was perfectly appropriate for her status.
Obedient people could receive rewards.
A slight ripple appeared in Li Jin’s gaze. After a long pause, her lips curled, and she beckoned to Lu Wu.
“Come here.”
Lu Wu’s breath hitched for an instant, nearly losing herself in the faint, shallow charm of that smile. She stared straight at Li Jin, all other thoughts vanished. As if bewitched, she rose from the sofa and stepped onto the carpet with bare feet, approaching step by step.
Before reaching her destination, Lu Wu took a tumble—with a slight, clumsy intentionality. Then, their breaths intertwined as they both sank into the sofa. She stroked the side of Li Jin’s face, feeling the coolness of her earlobe. She kissed the tip of her nose, her neck, and finally returned from the collarbone to those moist, inviting lips.
Licking, sucking, nibbling, and biting—a swirling entanglement.
Li Jin quickly became aroused. Lu Wu was well aware of this. However, having been ignored and brushed off earlier in the evening, she tried to reclaim her territory now. She delayed undoing the buttons of Li Jin’s pajamas, maliciously stoking the fire through the single layer of thin fabric. When she spoke to flirt, her tone was intentional.
“Which position does President Li want to use today?”
Li Jin was sensitive, her body trembling slightly. She whispered, “…Don’t call me that.”
Lu Wu used her fingertips to flick open the buttons of the pajamas.
“Then what do you like me to call you?”
Her finger pads ground against her; small, cute things woke up, flushed with a dizzying crimson. Lu Wu pressed further, “Li Jin?”
Li Jin couldn’t bear it, fragmented sounds escaping from the corners of her mouth. Her clear, cold eyes were almost losing focus. During their first time, Lu Wu had been clumsy, her every move cautious about whether she would hurt her anywhere. Thus, Li Jin had underestimated her enemy, thinking the other was just a greenhorn who needed to be taught by word and example.
But the other side of youth was inexhaustible strength and infinite plasticity. Lu Wu was very diligent and very talented. She quickly mastered when to be light and when to be heavy, and learned the timing of teasing and withdrawing.
Just like now. Even though the air was so sticky one could almost smell the sweet fragrance, she still maintained perfect patience, considerately tending to every delicate and delicious spot.
Li Jin didn’t want to lose this game right from the start. Her fingers tightened until they were almost white. When she spoke again, she still held her poise, adding a teasing note of feigned relaxation.
“You said you wanted me to examine your study results. Are you handing in a blank paper during the exam?”
Lu Wu’s breathing was somewhat hurried. She raised her head with a smile.
“It’s just the appetizer.”
Having said that, she stopped deliberately torturing Li Jin and tilted her head to kiss the tip of her nose.
“I’ll perform well.”
Her fingertips circled around; in the next second, she was about to drive straight in.
Ring-ring-ring—
A sudden ringing of a phone broke the enchanting atmosphere. Lu Wu glanced over; it wasn’t her phone.
Li Jin obviously noticed this too and spoke to remind her: “The phone.”
“Seems so,” Lu Wu responded with her lips, wanting to continue regardless.
Li Jin called her name, her tone gaining a hint of sternness: “Lu Wu.”
Sensing her seriousness, Lu Wu’s hands stilled, and she obediently stopped moving. Li Jin, showing no mercy, pushed her hands away directly. Lu Wu was forced to sit up straight, watching helplessly as she tidied her appearance.
The ringing had gone quiet, but after a few seconds, it rang again persistently. Li Jin answered the phone, and Li Xinrui’s lively voice immediately jumped out from the receiver.
“Xiao Jin, Xiao Jin! Lu Lu said she’s taking me to the amusement park tomorrow and you’re going too—is it true?”
Li Jin steadied her breathing and only answered after a long pause, “Mhm.”
Li Xinrui gave a cry of joy. “That’s great! I’m getting out of bed right now to pick out the clothes I’m wearing tomorrow~”
Li Jin reminded her, “It’s already very late. You can prepare tomorrow morning.”
Li Xinrui was like a runaway horse, saying hurriedly, “But I’m so excited, I wish it were tomorrow already!”
Li Jin answered heartlessly, “If Grandmother finds out, tomorrow’s plan is cancelled.”
“I can’t tell Grandmother? Fine…” The little girl restrained herself a bit. After a while, her tone became excited again. “Then what time can I come over to your place? Six o’clock? That seems a bit too early… how about six-thirty?”
Six-thirty was too early; it was still several hours before the amusement park opened. Li Jin was somewhat helpless and said softly, “I’ll have the driver pick you up at seven.”
Li Xinrui laughed happily. “Okay~ Oh right, where’s Lu Lu? Do we need to pick her on the way?”
Li Jin paused, looking down at the person sitting opposite her, who was watching her expectantly.
“No need. She’s here with me.”
