After Breaking Off the Engagement, The Young Lady Deeply Regretted It - Chapter 58
Jing Xiao said, “Don’t rush, it won’t take long. The projector is on, you can see if there’s any TV series you want to watch.”
Fan Qingyu snuggled into Jing Xiao’s arms: “I’ll watch you instead; you’re more interesting to look at.”

The plane safely landed in Europe. Mr. Brown was very optimistic about the business discussion and personally came to pick them up. He immediately gave Jing Xiao a big hug. “It’s a great honor to have you here.”
Jing Xiao responded in her signature conversational tone: “The honor is mine, Mr. Brown.”
Mr. Brown scanned the rest of the guests, noting that most looked familiar enough, until his eyes fell on the last person—Fan Qingyu. She seemed familiar, but he couldn’t remember who she was. Scratching his head, he asked, “May I ask who the lady at the end of the group is?”
Jing Xiao smiled lightly: “She’s my fiancée. You met her last time. She’s not participating in the work this time, just accompanying me.”
Fan Qingyu stepped forward to shake hands, her mind still replaying Jing Xiao’s words, “fiancée,” feeling a sweet warmth inside.
Mr. Brown exchanged a few more polite words, and after the assistants arranged the luggage, he invited Jing Xiao to depart. The three of them rode in a car. After a long day of travel, Mr. Brown suggested having a meal first and then going to the hotel to rest, with detailed business discussions scheduled for tomorrow.
The short journey was clearly the best opportunity to build rapport. Jing Xiao chatted casually with Mr. Brown, who asked about her future vision for the products if the cooperation succeeded.
Listening to her clear and organized answers, Fan Qingyu was a bit stunned—she had once been like Jing Xiao, long ago. Not paying full attention, she turned her gaze out the window.
To welcome them, Mr. Brown had specially chosen a Chinese restaurant for dinner.
Jing Xiao happily agreed. At the restaurant, she presented rare Chinese local specialties as gifts. Mr. Brown admired the delicate craftsmanship of the porcelain dishes, praising them repeatedly.
Since the meal did not involve business discussion, only subtle market probing, Fan Qingyu stayed silent, quietly tasting the food.
Suddenly, a pair of chopsticks reached over, placing some food on her plate.
Fan Qingyu was puzzled.
The assistant smiled awkwardly: “President Jing said you’re too far away, so I should supervise you to eat more.”
Fan Qingyu didn’t pay attention to the wording and nodded, but being a bit fastidious, she couldn’t eat from the assistant’s plate. She subtly switched to another plate, taking plenty of food while Jing Xiao watched with a faint smile.
Jing Xiao and Mr. Brown’s conversation was low, but Fan Qingyu caught a few points, silently noting issues to discuss with Jing Xiao later.
The conversation shifted to Fan Qingyu herself. Mr. Brown warmly asked, “Jing, how long have you and Miss Fan been together? Did you meet playing our game last time?”
Jing Xiao, still smiling, stood and refilled Fan Qingyu’s empty cup with juice: “Perhaps many years, perhaps just a moment.”
Everyone was confused by her vague answer. Fan Qingyu, feeling thirsty, drank all the juice and said, “Almost five years.”
Mr. Brown took it as a couple’s playful banter and gave his blessing.
The first day of discussion went smoothly. That night, back at the hotel, the bellhop had already placed their luggage in the room. Fan Qingyu turned on the chandelier, half leaning against the nightstand, eating fruit from a plate.
“Any discomfort?” Jing Xiao rolled up Fan Qingyu’s sleeve to check her skin. After confirming nothing was wrong, she lifted Fan Qingyu’s pants.
Being far from home, Jing Xiao was concerned about her adjusting to the new environment, checking her from head to toe.
Fan Qingyu bent her arms, showing the muscles on her upper arms: “I’m fine. I’m not that fragile, plus I’ve traveled abroad frequently before.”
“Oh, I almost forgot,” Jing Xiao patted her head, moving her neck left and right with a creaking sound. “I don’t know why, but my whole body is sore.”
Fan Qingyu climbed behind her on the bed, massaging her stiff shoulders, asking worriedly: “Did I lean on you for too long? Should I give you a massage?”
“Probably not.” Jing Xiao twisted her waist as she stood, feeling a pleasant soreness. “My lower back hurts too.”
Fan Qingyu opened the bathroom door: “Go take a shower first. After, I’ll massage you.”
Jing Xiao raised her brows: “You even know how to massage?”
“Of course.” Fan Qingyu pushed her shoulder, guiding her into the bathroom.
Naturally, Fan Qingyu wasn’t skilled at all. She had quickly searched online for basic massage techniques and acupoints. She momentarily forgot to mute the video, so Jing Xiao could hear everything clearly.
Low laughter came from the bathroom. Fan Qingyu almost dropped her phone, lightly kicking the door: “No laughing.”
“All right, no laughing. Sorry.” Jing Xiao’s response made her laugh even more, and Fan Qingyu couldn’t help smiling too.
Jing Xiao said, “It’s fine, just help me loosen my muscles. No need for fancy techniques.”
“I’ll try to learn more.” After all, she knew nothing about massage.
The sound of running water came from the bathroom as Fan Qingyu went to the first floor.
This hotel was the largest chain in country F, offering top-notch service and facilities. Fan Qingyu brought massage oil and aromatherapy without asking for a professional.
Returning to the room, Jing Xiao had finished her shower. A trail of water marked the floor. She buried her head into the pillow, lying on her stomach with only her upper body visible, covered by a sheet from the waist down. There was a strange, subtle intimacy in the pose.
Fan Qingyu brought out the massage oils: “Eager, aren’t you?”
Jing Xiao didn’t answer directly: “Do you want to shower first?”
Fan Qingyu checked the oils, noticing they required washing afterward: “After I massage you, you’ll probably need another shower.”
She lit the aromatherapy, filling the room with a fresh fragrance, rubbed oil in her hands, and placed them on Jing Xiao’s back.
Jing Xiao groaned: “Ticklish.”
Fan Qingyu blushed, but kept her hands moving: “Don’t make noise.”
At the “practical session,” Fan Qingyu had already forgotten the techniques she learned. She started with Jing Xiao’s lower back, tracing her graceful curves with her palms. Jing Xiao’s skin was smoother than anything Fan Qingyu had ever experienced.
Jing Xiao propped her head up, her eyes half-lidded, teasing: “Isn’t this a massage? Why are you just touching me?”
Fan Qingyu’s voice got quieter: “It’s just a massage.”
She increased the pressure: “Now I’m serious.”
Her fingers curled over the few acupoints she remembered. Jing Xiao kept groaning, while Fan Qingyu secretly enjoyed it.
Jing Xiao almost teared up: “Stop, stop. Change spots. It’s too sore.”
Fan Qingyu lifted her hand and noticed the previous spot was now red. She blew lightly on it, making Jing Xiao shiver.
Fan Qingyu lightly smacked her buttocks: “Feels good?”
Jing Xiao, embarrassed, grabbed her wrist: “Massage properly. I’m mad now.”
Fan Qingyu finally behaved, following proper acupoints, repeatedly loosening the sore areas while avoiding protruding bones. Her cool lips brushed briefly against Jing Xiao.
“Is there no oil there?”
“No.”
Fan Qingyu bent her hands, kneading Jing Xiao’s shoulders. Despite her lack of technique, the pressure was just right. By the end, Jing Xiao felt much more comfortable.
