After Being Targeted by the Gloomy and Obsessive Movie Queen - Chapter 20.2
Chapter 20.2
However, this gentle and beautiful girl helped her once and then a second time, standing in front of her, who was already covered in scars.
She was momentarily lost in thought.
Was this a new form of bullying?
“Oh, please sit on the chair first. I’ll examine you.” The infirmary staff pulled back the curtain, let Yu Shujin sit down inside, and expertly checked the wounds on Yu Shujin’s body.
Xu Yinyu sat on the chair outside, hugging her slightly dirty school bag, texting to thank Shen Lu, who had helped her call the dean just now.
Shen Lu asked, slightly puzzled, why she had helped Yu Shujin.
Xu Yinyu hesitated, only replying with a very chuunibyou line: “Seeing injustice on the road, I drew my sword to help.”
Shen Lu skillfully replied: “Get lost. Your chuunibyou light is blinding my eyes.”
Xu Yinyu sent an emoji of someone scrambling to get away and went offline.
After Yu Shujin’s wounds were treated, Xu Yinyu handed her a Chinese vegetable pancake. She looked at Yu Shujin and smiled. “I’ll take you home, Shujin.”
Lost in Xu Yinyu’s gentle smile, a powerful and complex emotion surged through her heart. “Alright.”
Xu Yinyu helped Yu Shujin onto her bicycle. She put her school bag in the basket and started pedaling.
Yu Shujin naturally put her hands around Xu Yinyu’s waist.
Xu Yinyu’s body stiffened for a moment, but she kept the bicycle riding steadily.
Following Yu Shujin’s directions, they passed through three alleys and arrived at an old residential building.
Only one elderly guard stood in the security booth. Seeing Yu Shujin and Xu Yinyu, he let them pass immediately without even blinking.
“Do you want to come up for a cup of water?” Yu Shujin asked, actively holding Xu Yinyu’s hand.
“I don’t live with them,” Yu Shujin repeated the question. “So, do you want to come up for water?”
Xu Yinyu dizzily agreed to Yu Shujin’s invitation.
She was led inside, parked her bicycle, and entered the building.
Yu Shujin opened the old-fashioned iron door with a key and immediately flipped the light switch by the entrance.
The bright light instantly illuminated all the objects in the house.
“Sit on my bed first. I’ll pour you some water,” Yu Shujin said.
Xu Yinyu immediately walked over and sat on the small bed.
Yu Shujin’s small room was lovely in Xu Yinyu’s eyes.
The house faced south, getting plenty of sunlight. But because of the limited space, the living room and bedroom were only separated by a thin sheer curtain.
The room contained only essential living items.
It was clean but lacked a sense of lived-in warmth.
Xu Yinyu hugged her school bag and took the glass of water Yu Shujin handed her, gulping it down.
After drinking, Xu Yinyu stood up, put the glass in Yu Shujin’s hand. “I should go now.”
Yu Shujin curved her lips and smiled. “Do you want to come over to do homework tomorrow since it’s a holiday?”
Xu Yinyu blinked, thinking she had hallucinated.
“Are you very busy?” Yu Shujin asked again.
Xu Yinyu quickly shook her head. “No, I’m not busy.”
“Then you have to come tomorrow,” Yu Shujin looked at her with a smile in her eyes.
Xu Yinyu nodded. Feeling as if she had drunk a glass of beautiful wine, like a befuddled monarch, she hugged her school bag, opened the door, looked back one last time, met Yu Shujin’s gaze, and then blushed deeply, fleeing as if running away.
Later, whenever the school had a holiday, Xu Yinyu would go to Yu Shujin’s house to do homework, and sometimes even tutor Yu Shujin.
They also worked part-time together at a milk tea shop.
Unbeknownst to her, Xu Yinyu’s special state was noticed by Shen Lu.
During a bathroom break, Xu Yinyu was cornered by Shen Lu.
“What’s going on with you and Yu Shujin?” Shen Lu asked, hands on her hips, her face irritated.
Xu Yinyu stammered for a long time. “I… I’m working part-time with her…”
Shen Lu looked at Xu Yinyu’s blushing face, which didn’t look like the pure relationship of co-workers working part-time together at all.
“Do you think I’m blind?”
Xu Yinyu covered Shen Lu’s mouth with her hand. “Don’t ask…”
Shen Lu slapped Xu Yinyu’s hand away, asking with an unpleasant expression, “You’re not actually… are you?”
Xu Yinyu didn’t answer, silently drifting off, lost in thought.
Shen Lu reacted strongly, pushing her away. “Are you insane! Do you want to be a pervert? Can you wake up? I don’t want to be friends with a pervert.”
Xu Yinyu had not expected her only good friend to react so strongly upon learning she liked a female friend. Her face turned deathly pale, and she stood in place, completely at a loss.
Xu Yinyu was drenched by Shen Lu’s reaction, and at the same time, she woke up from this daydream.
She began to refuse Yu Shujin’s invitations.
On the third refusal, Yu Shujin, with a beautiful, striking face, walked up to her desk and tapped on it. “Want to go out and talk?”
Xu Yinyu stood up and followed her.
Yu Shujin took her to the rooftop, holding a carton of milk, which she handed to Xu Yinyu. She got straight to the point. “Are you mad at me?”
Xu Yinyu shook her head. She had never been angry with Yu Shujin. Just seeing Yu Shujin made her happy. How could she be angry? “No.”
“Then why are you rejecting me? Don’t you like me?” Yu Shujin crossed her arms, asking with a puzzled look.
Xu Yinyu completely froze. She felt her ears were broken, or Yu Shujin had mind-reading abilities.
How else would she know the thoughts she had suppressed in her heart?
She had a perfectly planned angle for every secret glance, every time it was calculated.
She didn’t even dare to look too much.
Xu Yinyu didn’t know how to answer Yu Shujin and could only wave her hand repeatedly. “N-No, no.”
“Do you mean you’re not trying to refuse me? Or you don’t mean you like me?” Yu Shujin suddenly stepped closer to Xu Yinyu.
There were only millimeters between them. Xu Yinyu looked at Yu Shujin, restraining her desire, inhaling the pleasant scent of hyacinth from her.
“I’m not deliberately refusing you,” Xu Yinyu replied dryly. “I genuinely have things going on.”
Yu Shujin made a satisfied “Oh” sound. “Then you like me. Do you know how to pursue someone?”
Xu Yinyu shook her head.
Yu Shujin laughed. “Is that so? How about this: since we get along so well, if you pursue me, I’ll lower the bar for you.”
She suddenly grabbed Xu Yinyu’s hand, lacing their fingers together. “I’ll teach you how to pursue someone, top student.”
Yu Shujin lowered her head, tracing Xu Yinyu’s eyes with her gaze, and then briefly touched Xu Yinyu’s lips like a dragonfly skimming the water.
Xu Yinyu’s eyes trembled, like a wind-flapping butterfly, and she slightly opened her mouth.
“I… You… Did we just kiss?”
“Want more, girlfriend?” Yu Shujin looked at Xu Yinyu with a teasing, playful smile.
Xu Yinyu had no time to react and was half-pushed, half-willingly kissed by Yu Shujin for a long time.
When she was released, her mind was completely dizzy.
Yu Shujin held her hand, telling her that one should be honest and sincere with a girlfriend, and not constantly avoid or refuse.
Xu Yinyu nodded. “So, did I catch you?”
Yu Shujin laughed out loud, teasing her with a smile in her eyes. “You wish. I haven’t agreed yet.”
“You called me that just now, and you kissed me,” Xu Yinyu said, slightly urgent.
“Did I call you that?”
“Yes, you did!”
“Did I call you that?”
“You really did!”
On the rooftop, the two girls were playfully wrestling. A sound came from the staircase.
Yu Shujin suddenly hushed and looked toward the staircase.
Xu Yinyu followed her gaze. “What is it?”
“Let’s go back. I’ll treat you to dinner this weekend,” Yu Shujin kissed Xu Yinyu’s cheek. “Okay?”
Xu Yinyu replied shyly and reluctantly.
But before Xu Yinyu and Yu Shujin could have that dinner, the news of their relationship spread like wildfire.
Intimate photos of Yu Shujin kissing her were posted on the school forum.
Both of them received disciplinary action.
Xu Yinyu returned home and was immediately slapped by her mother. “Are you crazy, Yuyu?”
Xu Yinyu remained silent, accepting all the punishment her mother gave her. “Mom, I’m sorry, but I like her.”
“What good is liking someone!” Mother Xu shouted. “What can ‘liking’ bring you? Disciplinary action? Stares? Do you still want to stay in school? Do you still want to take the college entrance exam? Have you forgotten your childhood dreams?”
Mother Xu’s accusations were brutally accurate, stinging more than any slap.
Xu Yinyu knelt on the floor, her nose and throat burning. “I’m sorry… Mom…”
“You must end this, Yuyu,” Mother Xu said weakly. She helped Xu Yinyu up. “Listen to your mother this one time, alright?”
Xu Yinyu threw herself into her mother’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably, pouring out all the grievances she had suffered that day.
Before Xu Yinyu could even talk to Yu Shujin, the news that the Yu family matriarch had acknowledged Yu Shujin swept through the school again.
Xu Yinyu couldn’t find Yu Shujin at school, so she went to Yu Shujin’s house. She knocked, but no one answered. A look of unease flashed in her eyes.
She took out the key Yu Shujin had given her, opened the door, quickly scanned the room’s arrangement, and instantly sensed something was wrong.
A broken water glass lay on the corner of the table. In the pool of water, there was an unfamiliar footprint.
Xu Yinyu instantly panicked. News stories about wealthy children being kidnapped and killed flashed through her mind.
The Yu family was a magnate in A City. There must be many people who wanted to kidnap Yu Shujin for a huge ransom.
Xu Yinyu thought for a moment, then, forcing her trembling legs to move, she went downstairs and pried open the property management office door.
“My friend has been kidnapped. I need to see the surveillance footage,” Xu Yinyu’s eyes were bloodshot.
The security guard, eating his meal, “tst”-ed with annoyance. “Which friend? Does she live in this neighborhood? Why didn’t you call the police if she was kidnapped? Surveillance isn’t something just anyone can look at. We have to follow procedure. You little kid, go wait somewhere cool and don’t bother us!”
Xu Yinyu looked at him coldly.
The guard felt uneasy under her stare and flared up in anger. “Hurry up and get out! Don’t come here to take your anger out on society!”
Xu Yinyu didn’t leave. Instead, she stepped forward, pulled out a fruit knife from behind her, placed it against her heart, and spoke with murderous intent. “I’ve already called the police. If you don’t open the surveillance, I’ll stab myself to death.”
The guard was startled. He immediately stood up and tried to calm Xu Yinyu down. “Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing? It’s just looking at surveillance, a small matter. Put the knife down, and I’ll open the surveillance for you right away. Young lady, don’t hurt yourself!”
Xu Yinyu’s expression was stern and cold. “Open it. I want to see the footage from yesterday until today, for resident 501.”
The guard quickly found the footage for her.
Xu Yinyu sat on the chair, watching intently. She saw Yu Shujin walking weakly into 503, and then eventually only saw Xu Yinyu frantically banging on the door and finally opening it.
No one else appeared in between.
How is that possible? Xu Yinyu couldn’t believe this fact. She suddenly remembered Yu Shujin’s balcony.
“Do you have surveillance footage of the balcony?” Xu Yinyu asked again.
The guard was briefly stunned. “We do, but the footage for some floors isn’t clear. Do you still want to see it?”
Xu Yinyu nodded. “Please pull it up for me.”
The guard was fast. Xu Yinyu watched carefully. Finally, on the third viewing, she saw a blurry figure. She continuously adjusted the magnification, enlarging the face.
When she realized who the perpetrator of the forced entry and kidnapping was, a layer of cold sweat broke out on Xu Yinyu’s back.
She felt like her soul had been captured by a demon, leaving her lifeless.
